***The business should stand behind their product and workmanshipNew driveway should not develop cracks within few months. The earlier driveway was in place for more than years and the ground underneath it had settled for all those years and there were no cracks or pits on our concrete garage floor earlier either. When I spoke to Christa Davenport she told me to call back next day between 9am and 11am to speak to the business ownerBut when I called back I was asked to leave a message and owner will call me backBut he never did instead Chad called me and asked me to engage Revdex.com.That is why I got a little upset as to why the owner would not talk to me so our concerns can be addressed amicably.I even recommended this company last year to my neighbor [redacted] across the street [redacted] and they got their driveway paved from them few weeks agoThat is when the sunk area was replaced on my driveway by their crew and the cracks were reheated. But more cracks have popped up since on the asphalt driveway. Thanks

*** Here are the details and documentation that may help provide some backgroundWe installed the driveway last SeptemberThe original contract was for $4,and Mr [redacted] requested an additional area be expanded, which costed an additional $500, which he agreed toAfter completing the driveway Mr [redacted] complained that the driveway was poorly done and that we caused cracks and pits in his concrete floor when bringing our asphalt roller into his garageI met with Mr [redacted] in the fall of last year to discuss his problems with the projectAfter reviewing his issues my professional opinion was that he noticed areas where stone was a little more noticeable but were properly compacted and within industry standardsHe also pointed out areas where there were lines or seamsThese areas were we matched one pass of asphalt with the next (the pave can't lay more than feet wide) or a seam where we stopped and need to take off again after getting a new load of asphalt dumped in the paving machineThese are all things that have to happen and will be seen on a typical asphalt paving jobI explained the process to Mr [redacted] and he accepted that there was no additional work to be done on the asphalt portion of the drivewayMy professional opinion that the cracks and pits in the concrete driveway were not caused by J.KMeurerWe must roll into a garage to properly compact the asphalt and we pave near residential driveway per year and this is our standard processThe cracks did not look like anything that was caused from weight rolling in the front of the garage and the in over years of business we have never had a complaint that a smooth roller caused pits in the concreteFurthermore there were pits that were in the back half of the garage that he said we caused and our equipment would never have been that deep into the buildingI would be comfortable with any reputable concrete contractor going to his house to inspect the floor to give an opinion on the cause of these issuesIt is clear to me that the cracks and pitting is typical of the age of concrete that he hasMr [redacted] did not accept that we were not to blame for these issuesHe refused to pay for the work completedIn an effort to simply move forward we accepted no responsibility for the concrete floor, but offered a discount of $to Mr***Mr [redacted] accepted that discount in exchange for resolving the complaint and thus paid $5,for the completed projectPlease keep in mind we offered this discount despite the fact our contract clearly reads that even if we were the cause of a crack, we can not be held responsible for any damage as we must access with heavy equipment and trucksOn top of the good faith negotiation which we did not need to engage in per our contract, the fact that Mr [redacted] has included the concrete floor as part of the complaint is a violation of the agreement we made.Mr [redacted] contacted us again this year in the winter and stated he had further concerns with the drivewayWe do not work with asphalt in the winter, so I told him we would need to revisit in the warmer monthsI met with him on 7/20/and he had three complaintsComplaint #1, he was getting some water in the corner of his garageI explained that his drive lane was higher than his garage and had nothing to do with the asphalt we installedHe would need to install a drain if he wanted to remedy that issueHe accepted that explanation and no further action was requestedComplaint #- There were or thin cracks on the driveway that he was concerned aboutThese separation cracks are typical and can happen with changing weather or ground movementOur attached contract clearly states that these are not covered by our warranty and are not within our controlHowever, in good faith, I told Mr [redacted] that since he hadn't sealed the driveway yet, we could re-heat the asphalt and close those cracksHe was satisfied with that response and we have since completed that workHe also kept my foreman a significant time longer to work on other imperfections (in his opinion) on the driveway that was not agreed upon during our meeting Complaint #- Going to submit form before time runs out and will send more information on another form

[redacted] [redacted] * [redacted] ** ***As discussed please add this to the desired outcome " repair of the cracked and chipped garage floor"Thanks, [redacted] Y [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] *** [redacted]

We are not satisfied with the response and want the job done per the contract. At the time of the work being done, no one ever asked if we would be okay with a delay (which we would have been). They made a decision based on their needs not the consumer. We will pay for the job in full when it is completed correctly

Hello Lynne,We are willing to enter into mediation with the clientObviously we would do that with the idea that both J.KMeurer and the client must be willing to negotiate in good faithWe have made an offer, the customer has not moved from their current positionWe understand there is a disagreement and our actions and our tone show we are willing to work with themHowever, if the only option that will satisfy the customer is us re-doing a job that is already done correctly (albeit not done in the exact way defined in the contract), then there is no point in entering into mediationWe would pursue other means to resolve this issue. Please contact me with any questions. Thanks,Chad MillerGeneral ManagerJ.KMeurer Corporation
