Review: I bought a pair of eyeglasses to this store. They never explained to me about this return policy. In addition, I saw other costumer buying eyeglasses, and they didn't explain anything to those costumer either. The next day I went to return them because I didn't like at all, and because the right lens had a scratch. They told me that they are not allow to give refund to nobody. The only thing that they do is give credit store, forcing costumer spend their money only with them. I found in [redacted] better eye glasses for half a price, and by the way you can return them and you will get you money back straight to your credit card. I gave the previous explanation to let you know that others optical give refund, but Cohen's doesn't. I went twice to the store. I also talked over the phone with an employee, but the situation wasn't resolved. They told me that they can't give refund because the eyeglasses are custom made, but [redacted] gives refund and the eyeglasses are custom made as well. I also tried to negotiate a refund for the frame, and the credit store for the lenses. It didn't work. My point is that If they would tell me in advance that they will not be able to give refund, and I do the purchase. Then, it is my fault, but they are doing their business hiding their refund and return policy. Even though I will not receive my money to my credit card, I will be satisfied if they will change the way to make business. I'm still have the eyeglasses because I didn't accept the credit store. They can't force me to spend my money with them.Desired Settlement: The business should give me at least a credit store for the lenses, and a refund to my credit card for the frame.

Review: I went to Cohen's Fashion Optical [redacted] in July of 2013, for a contact lens/eye glass exam. They would not give me my contact prescription right away, and scheduled me for a follow up exam. I was unable to make it to the exam, per family issues, and was out of state. I never received a phone call, for confirmation of the exam, or a phone call asking me to reschedule. I am now in need of contacts, as I am waiting on my new eye glasses to come in. I called Cohen's to get my contact prescription, and was told that I could not have it, as my eyes may have changed, and I must come back in for a new exam, at full price. My prescriptions are still good until July of 2014. I would like my prescription, as soon as possible, as it is still a valid prescription.Desired Settlement: I would like my prescription, and if I must come in for another exam, I want them to pay for me to see the Dr of my choice for my exam. I will not use their service again.

[redacted] was seen by an independent doctor of Optometry at Cohen's Fashion Optical on 7/12/2013 for an eye exam and contact lens fitting. Prior to being seen by the doctor [redacted] was given a copy of our contact lens fitting policy to read agree to and sign (which she did). The policy states that the examination and fitting for contact lenses is a multiple visit process. After initial exam trial contacts are provided. The patient is required to return for a follow up visit one week after receiving trial contacts to verify proper lens fitting, eye health and visual acuity. policy also states all follow up care must be completed within 90 days of initial exam. This is important to ensure eye health conditions are current and accurate. Policy states: The contact lens prescription will not be released until all follow up care is completed and the exam is finalized. [redacted] received her trial lenses on 7/12/13 and a follow up appointment was scheduled for 7/19/13 @ 1:45 pm. [redacted] did not come to this apt. There was no call and she never rescheduled. On Friday 1/31/14 [redacted] called requesting a copy of her contact lens prescription. While explaining to her that the prescription was not finalized because she never came back for any follow up appointments the required 90 day time frame she hung up.

Review: New pair of glasses including frames ordered on Feb 10,2015 for $962. Because of late delivery and then my surgery I first had them sometime the second week of March. I brought them home to try but they were very blurry and I brought them back and they redid them.

After repeated tries , three or four , I lost count, and glasses being " redone" according to them, they are still blurry . I completed a second refraction yesterday and my doctor has deemed them as unsafe for me to wear. There were several possibilties a defect poor frame choice for prescription but assuered it would be fine, poor quality, not a clear lens. It is now May and I have never been able to see from their eyeglasses. After trying them for a week, as they requested I made the final return today , May 6, 2015 and asked for a full refund. They would only issue a store credit but my doctor said I should not use them and go back to my old optician. My husband and I have done business with Cohens in [redacted] in the past. I was assurerd because I had brain surgery that they would honor their sixty day return policy, not store credit, now the owner refuses to refund my credit card.Desired Settlement: Refund credit card credit for $ 962.00 immediately

Review: Eyeglasses ordered still do not work-vision is still impaired despite two eye exams. I refused to take glasses but am still being charged.

Desired Settlement: Since I do not have nor want the eyeglasses, I do not want to pay for them. They do not work. My left eye is still blurry.

Review: I had my eyes examined at Cohen last February and chose glasses. When I picked up the glasses they were handed to me. I took them home and had trouble seeing from them. I was scheduled to leave the State for several months and tried several times to adjust to the glasses unsuccessfully. While out of state I stopped into another optical place and they tried to adjust the glasses (but didn't want to do much to them for fear of breaking them). After I returned home I went back to Cohen (frustrated)I didn't know if the problem was the prescription or the glasses. Another doctor checked my eyes and got a slightly different prescription. They made another pair of glasses. Again they were handed to me and they didn't work either ! I decided to go to another optical doctor (not Cohen) and she got yet another prescription and said she felt that the problem was with the glasses themselves: the lack of adjustment and the quality of the material from which the lens were made. Back to Cohen they made another pair of glasses and they aren't working either. After $600 to Cohen and $85 to another doctor I am still wearing my old glasses. I have never in 50 years of wearing glasses (and trifocals for the past 25 years) had any problems. No one at Cohen took the time to adjust the glasses and be sure the fit was correct or that the angle of the glasses were correct. I wrote to the owner and she referred me back to the store manager. I was told that (even though they have a satisfaction guarantee) they don't do refunds. I think I have given them adequate opportunities to make a pair of glasses that I can see out of. I have never paid $600 for glasses and I am not interested in the store credit they gave me for $559. I believe it is an unfair compromise.Desired Settlement: I would like a complete refund.The quality of their technical products are unsatisfactory. The satisfaction guarantee in terms of a credit is unacceptable - sometimes exceptions must be made.
