Thank you for the opportunity to answer this complaint. We have had prior contact with Mr. [redacted] in regards to this issue and have explained to Mr. [redacted] why the fasteners are visible. manufactures specifications. I have provided the section from CertainTeed's Shingle Installation Manual pertaining to fasteners. It is their requirement that the nails(fasteners) penetrate the decking. Please see Figure 8-1(provided) The specifications states, Nail shanks must be long enough the roofing then go 3/4" into solid wood, plywood or non-veneer wood decking, or through the thickness of the wood decking whichever is less. The decking material on the home in question is a 1/2" plywood. This being the case the fasteners will penetrate approximately 1/4".  With this said Coldwater Roofing has installed the shingles per Manufactures Spec's. If we install the shingles any other way Mr. [redacted]'s materials warranty would be void and be more likely to blow off in a high wind storm. Mr. [redacted]'s roof was installed almost three years ago, at that time I personally walk the finished product with Mr. [redacted] and he was very happy with the new roofing system Coldwater Roofing had been able to provide him. Very misrepresented. Had to constantly call and reach voicemail, attempted multiple contact methods over months with no success and insulted. When I do work, I provide expectations and fulfill them in a reasonable timeframe. I was told things got busy etc... but honestly my job was in line before others were and there was no reason it took this long to finish what was on the written and verbal contract.
The project is almost done. I only reported Revdex.com out of desperation because "normal" attempts were getting out of control and simply trying to collect from someone when numerous emails and voicemails went unanswered over much too long of a time is very unprofessional.
What was promised by the contracter is still not complete, and I hope Revdex.com can help provide some sort of documentation while I desperately wait to just get this done and over with. My account confirms payment was delivered. I need the following:
1. A receipt for final payment provided
2. I still do not have the screw that was discussed since the first meeting. I was told this would be given to me in the beginning of June. When will I get the item?
3. I asked about documentation for the warranty on the gutter screens installed on June 5th as part of the contract written on 7/1/2013. The product has a 2 year warranty. Since it took 11 months to install, I need something regarding the effective date, the warranty details and whom to contact if I were to need warranty service. I was told all I could be given was the box. I feel it is not as professional as it could be, however I will take anything at this point for my records. Since you now have payment, when will you provide the box or any information regarding what I will need for this product if I do need to contact warranty service? Nothing was left at the time of the final work on the roof contract.
4. I still intend to do final inspection of the whole project, and it was not my fault it took this long to complete the project. I understand this took very long and I do want to be done with this as much as you do. This is why I provided final payment before my final inspection. I am not a roofer, and will follow normal steps on a project this large. Just wanted to confirm since this seemed to be a problem prior to payment in our last conversation, which is why I sent payment before the inspection.
Honestly, I do not feel I should have to do this much work for services provided but it is what it is. You now have your money, please provide the final items as verbally confirmed on multiple conversations.
Thank you.

We are responding to the complaint from Ms. [redacted]. We are confused to the reason for this complaint since the items that she is asking us to perform were completed on 6/5/2014. The reason for the work not being completed were due to gutters that Ms. [redacted] had asked be installed at the second story sections of her roof(Gutters that we installed at no charge to Ms. [redacted]) and a downspout that was also part of this gutter section. Until we could speak about these items Coldwater Roofing could not complete all of the actual work. Review: Around 8/10/11 Coldwater put a new roof on my house on[redacted] I did not see this problem for a long time as I have an inner ear problem. (Since of Balance) and don't look up while walking. About 4 months ago I stopped on the east side of the house to see about getting it painted and noticed a problem with many nails coming through the outside of the roof. This is also a problem on the west side roof and inside the attic. This will not add to the value of the house I feel. I called Coldwater and was told the nails were according to specified code. If so maybe the code should be reviewed.Desired Settlement: If this is not the job I paid for I would like to know my options. This letter etc. was also sent to the Revdex.com and pictures take to home owners. As pictures and nail ends also sent I cut off.

Review: I hired Coldwater Roofing to repair the roof on a home I own. The work was done in a very sloppy and careless manor. They were supposed to remove all tiles, replace the underlayment and strips and seal all leaking areas to prevent leaks into the house. Then they were supposed to put all of the tiles back on the roof. The workers did such a poor job that they broke over 120 of the tiles, used all of the spare tiles I had at this property and put the broken tiles back on the roof. It appears there is at least 1 new leak and some leaking at the pld leak location. Many of the tiles were not put on correctly and they cut several of the tiles instead of using the original cut tiles. Several are on crooked and not flat as they are supposed to be. The whole job looks like a couple of 3rd grade children performed the work. I have called the business 8 times and they have never responded at all so that leaves me with this complaint process.Desired Settlement: I would like them to replace all of the broken tiles, fix the leaks that they were contracted to do and place the tiles on the roof in a correct and professional manner. Or, if they do not want to do that, refund my money so I can hire a company that will do a professional and quality job.

Review: On 9-19-13 my husband, [redacted] and myself signed a contract for an re-roof of our [redacted] property home that had been storm damaged. The roofing , gutters, downspouts, painting on spouts, etc. (roof jacks that were damaged and screens) were to all be replaced. We paid for the job in Full on 10/2/13 in the amount of $6,138.00. We went up to inspect the property in October and the gutters had not been replaced, the roof jacks were not replaced, (painted white) and 2 sections of the roofing was done in the incorrect color. We were told that the job would be completed per the estimate minus the roof on the oldest storage building. We were furnished a receipt saying all was done and turned it in to our insurance company for reimbursement. We contact the [redacted] representative as well as the owner in [redacted], We contacted "[redacted]" in [redacted] many times about the gutters. Kept saying, we will get them done. They were not completed until sometime in Nov. We then were concerned about the different color of roofing. It was brown on the 2 flat area, not white as indicated on the signed contract. Calls were made to both the [redacted] site and the [redacted] Site. I spoke many times to the person in charge in [redacted], brother -in-law of the owner and was told to call the owner. That it would be taken care of. The property was listed for sale and the 2 sales fell through. We had a 3rd buyer who had a concern about the roof. I called and told them we needed the job corrected before the buyer would close on the property in January 2014. I again was told, they would take care of it. In order to have the sale go through my husband, [redacted], and I had to agree to allow $500.00 in lieu of repairs to the seller at the closing of escrow on 1-15-14. I intended to also file a complaint with the [redacted], but I did not want to loose the sale on the property. We believe we are due a refund for their wrong color being installed, the roof jacks only painted not replaced, etc. Numerous calls, appx. 15-20 were made and attempts to contact the owner at his e-mail address [redacted] went unanswers . When we did talk to the supervisor in [redacted] , we were told oh, there was a family wedding, I've been ill and in the hospital., the storms caused a lot of damage and we hired additional people who did bad work, etc. But we were assured we'll take care of it. One excuse after another and nothing was ever done. We believe we are owed a settlement.

We are asking for $500.00 in restitution. I am also investigating whether or not this needs to be turned over to our insurance company, as the receipt they furnished us was not accurate. They were well aware we were out of town owners and took advantage of the situation. They charged for work that was not completed, i.e. painting the downspouts, replacing the roof jacks, etc. and installing the wrong color of roofing material. We called and spoke to the supervisor, owner, etc. on many many occasions from the time we inspected the job in Oct. 2013 through Jan. 2014, to only be continually put off and never called back. Totally unexceptable.

I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone if this is how they conduct business.Desired Settlement: Reimbursement of the $500 lost in the sale of the property.

We were extremely satisfied with the work performed by this company. They were professional from start to finish. They replaced our roof that was damaged by a hail storm. They were informative and followed through, answered all of our questions, started and finished the work in a timely manner, cooperated with our insurance company, cleaned up meticulously, and really set our mind at ease with their extensive knowledge in roofing. As nervous as we were...regarding who to choose...we are so happy to have had Coldwater Roofing service our needs in 2014.
