Coldwater Roofing Reviews (21)

Review: Everything started out nicely. I met with an appraiser who would only work off of my [redacted] appraisal, unable to provide their estimate. I provided the information. They said they could add a gutter to the 2nd floor of my townhouse, I said I am hesitant to do this because the builder and independent engineers worked on a drainage problem with landscaping, gutters and underground systems. If anything was to be modified I prefer to not have any downspouts added to the rear of my home & want to speak to the person who is installing them prior to the project. Since I would be at work, I had my mother come up from Phoenix and stay here during the job. No one even bothered to ring the doorbell or discuss this. Work was complete. The problem is, I do not want any downspouts on the 2nd floor of the rear of my home, I also asked if I could have something & they offered me an extra screens for the gutter systems. I accepted, but this is not what I was going to ask. I wanted just 1 screw that was used to attach the gutters to the home so I could easily purchase them as needed from the local hardware store for future maintenance. I have called, emailed, gone to their website and filled out the form letter, contacted [redacted] out of desperation to just get this settled. In the past 11 months, I did get one return call while I was out of town and returned the message as soon as I got back home. I am beyond frustrated, and am struggling with trying to simply get someone to talk to me to finalize this job. I have paid 1/2 the payment but have no intention to pay the final amount until the work is completed as agreed from our first meeting, during the project, and after the project on numerous messages and about 2 discussions. Additionally, I was told my gutters had screens on them so I can simply flip them over to clean them. NONE OF MY GUTTERS HAVE ANY SCREENS YET...? My last actual verbal contact was with Jimmy on 5/23/14 at 14:42. He said he had to talk to Steven who commented on this project but they will be back in touch. I left a voicemail on 5/27 at their Peoria number and again on 6/2/14 at 16:45. I provided my office cell, my home number and availability outside of work as well as my mother's number in Phoenix. [redacted] advised I drive down to their address however I am unable to get enough time off work to make the drive down to the Phoenix area. I also have received a certified letter regarding collections from this company.Desired Settlement: 1. Do the job I was sold. My gutters do not have the screen toppers, finish them please. 2. Fix the second story gutters you wanted to add, remove any system that funnels water in the back of the property. I am still readily available to speak with the gutter person regarding this. 3. Give me 1 screw from the gutter which I requested and was said I would be provided on what contacts I managed to have with the team 4. I am still interested in the extra screen offered but the gutters need to be finished first. 5. Do not ruin my 800 credit score over work you can't complete. I still have your second portion of payment and have every intention to pay for the repair, but will not do this until the work is completed as discussed 6. Call me back, return my emails? Anything? Please let me know when this will be completed, taking over 11 months is unreasonable. I want my project complete, you want to be paid, I want to pay you. Can we move on this a bit faster please? I asked my mom to come up again and would really like faster resolve to this job.

Response:

We are responding to the complaint from Ms. [redacted]. We are confused to the reason for this complaint since the items that she is asking us to perform were completed on 6/5/2014. We received final payment from Ms. [redacted] on 6/10/2014. We received correspondence from the Revdex.com in regards to this complaint on 6/16/2014, (11)eleven days after the work was completed. Coldwater Roofing has and had tried over the last 8-9 months unsuccessfully to correspond with Ms. [redacted]. we had tired several calls to her cell phone and to her work number, we never received return calls from messages that were left on her cell phone and we were told from her manager at her work "not to contact Ms. [redacted] at work for personal issues". It was not until we finally sent a certified letter stating that we intended to exercise our rights to lien the property at [redacted] that we finally were contacted. The reason for the work not being completed were due to gutters that Ms. [redacted] had asked be installed at the second story sections of her roof(Gutters that we installed at no charge to Ms. [redacted]) and a downspout that was also part of this gutter section. Until we could speak about these items Coldwater Roofing could not complete all of the actual work. With that said all of the items that Ms. [redacted] has asked for were completed, as far as we can tell before the complaint was made and for sure all most two weeks before we received this complaint. I hope that this answers any questions that you may have in reviewing this complaint. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at [redacted] or on my cell phone at [redacted].Thanks You[redacted]Owner Coldwater Roofing, LLC.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Very misrepresented. Had to constantly call and reach voicemail, attempted multiple contact methods over months with no success and insulted. When I do work, I provide expectations and fulfill them in a reasonable timeframe. I was told things got busy etc... but honestly my job was in line before others were and there was no reason it took this long to finish what was on the written and verbal contract.

The project is almost done. I only reported Revdex.com out of desperation because "normal" attempts were getting out of control and simply trying to collect from someone when numerous emails and voicemails went unanswered over much too long of a time is very unprofessional.

What was promised by the contracter is still not complete, and I hope Revdex.com can help provide some sort of documentation while I desperately wait to just get this done and over with. My account confirms payment was delivered. I need the following:

1. A receipt for final payment provided

2. I still do not have the screw that was discussed since the first meeting. I was told this would be given to me in the beginning of June. When will I get the item?

3. I asked about documentation for the warranty on the gutter screens installed on June 5th as part of the contract written on 7/1/2013. The product has a 2 year warranty. Since it took 11 months to install, I need something regarding the effective date, the warranty details and whom to contact if I were to need warranty service. I was told all I could be given was the box. I feel it is not as professional as it could be, however I will take anything at this point for my records. Since you now have payment, when will you provide the box or any information regarding what I will need for this product if I do need to contact warranty service? Nothing was left at the time of the final work on the roof contract.

4. I still intend to do final inspection of the whole project, and it was not my fault it took this long to complete the project. I understand this took very long and I do want to be done with this as much as you do. This is why I provided final payment before my final inspection. I am not a roofer, and will follow normal steps on a project this large. Just wanted to confirm since this seemed to be a problem prior to payment in our last conversation, which is why I sent payment before the inspection.

Honestly, I do not feel I should have to do this much work for services provided but it is what it is. You now have your money, please provide the final items as verbally confirmed on multiple conversations.

Thank you.
