Possible collections fraud and identity theft.I was sent a letter, dated June 10th of 2016, from Collection Pros claiming they were attempting to collect an outstanding debt of $98.71 for a product from [redacted]. I have never purchased products from [redacted] and would have certainly paid in full at time of purchase if I had. The letter gives Reference Number: [redacted] for this particular case. When attempting to dispute the debt via Collection Pros' website, entering the Reference Number only brings up a "Pay Now" button. Calling the provided number: 1-877-439-1825 only leads to an automated voice system with no options to speak to an actual person.I am refuting this debt as it is so obviously a scam. While Collect Pros may have personal details about me, I have never purchased [redacted] products and have no outstanding debts with them. Desired SettlementI request that Collect Pros cease contacting me and relinquish any claims to debts, fraudulent or otherwise, from me. The account was opened on a Visa with the last four digits of [redacted], with an expiration date of [redacted].Your original order was a trial with tracking number [redacted] but the agreement stated that after the trial period, unless you called to cancel, the manufacturer was going to bill you for the full cost of the product. They did so and your credit card on file was unable to process for the amount of $98.71. I have never ordered and/or received the product mentioned as a trial or otherwise. The card you have indicated made the purchase was a gift card I received around December, 2015. It only was only attached to my name and address through online registration of the card- to be able to use it on amazon.com. I have reviewed my past orders on Amazon and I have never ordered this product. Final Business Response Collect Pros received your dispute correspondence. We were provided with your debt verification information regarding the transaction from the prior debt holder and we have shared that with you. However, after reviewing your dispute letter we have decided that future collection activity will not be necessary on your account. I am justifiably disturbed that a company I have never done business with was able to gain access to my personal information; however, I am satisfied that Collect Pros is ceasing all efforts to collect this fraudulent debt.
