Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: It took approximately months from the time the contract was signed until the job was completed and the contractor provided an accurate invoice The need to take the contractor to court, the reluctance of the contractor to follow the terms agreed to in court, caused constant inconvenience Regards, [redacted]

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Icalled Doug W [redacted] immediately after finding out that the flooring appointment was not until This was early OctoberHe got back to me a day or later He said that Thanksgiving week would be difficult because he was gong to be on vacation the week of Thanksgiving I suggested that the painting be done the week before Thanksgiving He wouldn't commit to any time he kept avoiding a start date The week before Thanksgiving came and went with no commitment I was forced to demand that he provide a start date which turned out to be The paint crew showed up hours late on the scheduled date They didn't want to do the demolition I showed the contract They started the carpet removal then told me to pay him $for the disposal of the carpet I pointed out that the disposal was stipulated in the contract He wouldn't take it unless I paid him It took three days to remove the carpet During this time the painter kept telling me that the baseboards should be left in and painted It was shown to him again that it was stipulated in the contract The baseboards were not removed The next day the flooring people arrived For them to remove the baseboards I had to pay [redacted] $to get the baseboards removed Then after the flooring was done and the new carpeting was installed the painting crew arrived on W [redacted] made a complaint in his rebuttal about the additional work and cost of covering the flooring was not part of the contract This issue could have been avoided by doing the painting the week before Thanksgiving The contract also stipulated that cracks, holes and chips in the drywall would be done none were patched or repaired The painters did not return the blinds to the windows and the furniture was not returned to the interior of the house like it was stipulated in the contract I had to hire a moving crew to return furniture to the interior at the cost of $185.Bottom line the job was not done according to contract I would not ever recommend Doug W [redacted] and his company Colorado Painting Pros to anyone W [redacted] and his company is not cooperative or remotely responsible to ensure that their work is done on time or correctly Regards, [redacted]

[redacted] Yes, the payment through [redacted] was accidently run through this account and not the camper rental account, the refund check was mailed about two months ago, and has not been receivedIt will cost me $to do stop payand issue another check.Doug W [redacted] PresidentColorado Painting & Remodeling Pros [redacted] [redacted] [redacted]

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: This is not what happenedThere were no arrangements as far as I know to have the subcontractor take over the jobThis was not requested or agreed to by me or the subcontractorIn fact the contractor was paid in full and did not pay the subcontractor for the work doneHe did however send me a bill for overages in the amount that he owed to the subcontractor after he was paid in fullI did not feel it was my responsibility to pay his subcontractor after he had been paid in full for the jobI tried to discuss this with him and come to a reasonable payment for the overages (10-15%) but was not willing to give him the over 50% that he was requestingIt was very coincidental that the amount he was requesting in overages is exactly what he owed his subcontractorI was not informed of any health issues with the exception of a brief text that he was ill and would be contacting meI tried repeatedly to talk or meet with him to get this settled and I received some email/text responses from him with promises to contact or meet me which he never followed through withThe subcontractor also tried repeatedly to contact Doug with no response from him at allAll I wanted was contact with him to settle what needed to be finished, for him to pay his subcontractor and to get an explanationUnfortunately I don't believe this will happen as he continues to be dishonest and evasiveI hope that someday he finds the integrity to give me a call and explain the situation and pay his workers for a job that was well done Regards, [redacted]

This complaint from [redacted] is completely unfounded in my opinionWe did the work at his home with no complaints while the work was going onI tried contacting [redacted] on Dec 14th and 15th with no response to ask him if there were any Punch Out items needed and that I would be able to come after recovering from the fluThen instead he files complaints without ever talking to usThe guys that did the work always do an excellent jobAnd we have hundreds of excellent handwritten testimonials from our customersI will be trying to contact him about any resolutions or if items need to be doneAnother note is we were scheduled for his project in October and he had to change the dates to the week of Thanksgiving and I told him that would be difficult but we did at least do the carpet removal that Thanksgiving weekendThen he had to have the flooring done and we had to do additional work to cover the flooring because that was not in the contractAnd him moving those dates we had to squeeze his job in between work we had scheduled for November and DecemberThe guys had a lot of hours in there doing the painting and the carpet removal and floor prepI have also spent just under $1,in materials on the project

[redacted] Hi [redacted] ,Response to this is - My subcontractor was to take over the job with the customer because of my health issues and to finalize everthing and collect a payment of over $paid to himThis can be resolved with him because I am out of state nowWe can resolve anything else with the subcontractorThanks Doug W [redacted] PresidentColorado Painting & Remodeling Pros [redacted] [redacted] [redacted]

Resonding to the complaintYes we had a contract to paint the customers exterior pending weather for the time of yearThe colors were chosen in late November and we still had other projects on the books in front of this contractSo the winter weather had set in and we were not able to start the
projectWe have a day period to start a project pending acts of god, stormy weather, acts of owner or owners agent, labor troubles, etcetcetc(so we could not start within the day period) We have no stipulation to complete before house was to be on the market, (as the customer said sometime next year) We are happy to paint the house sometime when the weather breaks while its on the market, or for a new owner if they want to work something out, or even provide $towards another project of $or more in the futureWe are also more than happy to paint over the color samples for the time being if the customer provides an old paint color to color matchThe deposit is non refundable after the day cancellation period as it goes to sales and marketing and is stated in the contract

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: I contacted Doug W*** while the Painters stood there in my living room telling me that they were going to do the job as stated in the terms of the contract. Doug as usual waited several days to contact me. I contacted *** *** (the subcontractors) and filed a complaint. For days they moved out the furniture to the garage and removed the carpeting. The baseboards were not removed and there was no floor finishing done. They would show up to hours late and not get much taken care of. I work overnights and had requested early arrival (8am). When they wouldn't show up until or am they weren't giving a full days work. I made this complaint to *** the supposed owner of *** ***. The flooring people had to do the floor prep and remove the baseboards .everything about this painting job showed that Doug, his company and his subcontractors treated me like I was working for them and that I wasn't important enough to be listened to or to return my calls. As far as Doug returning calls he wouldn't until it was convienient for him. As far as he having put a $in to this job that was to be expected. He needed to get materials like paint to do the job unless he thought that I should have gotten all of the materials. If that was the case why did I need to hire a painting company in the first place?Bottom line Colorado Painting Pros did not deliver as contracted. His customer service is nonexistant and his regard for the quality of work being delivered was at best minimal. I will never be convinced to give Colorado Painting Pros any kind of positive review. He shouldn't be allowed to be in business

This is my response again, and we could not give a specific date to do the job because we were scheduled for other jobs at the time he needed to move his job to a new date, so we did get the job done minus some of the things he mentioned which we will deduct from the invoice, He should of never paid the guys $for carpet disposal without contacting one of usbut 90% of the job was completed with no response from him after completionWe also could not do the painting before Thanksgiving because of other commitments and had to fit his job into the schedule after he had to change the date.I tried contacting *** on Dec 14th and 15th with no response to ask him if there were any Punch Out items needed and that I would be able to come after recovering from the fluThen instead he files complaints without ever talking to usThe guys that did the work always do an excellent jobAnd we have hundreds of excellent handwritten testimonials from our customersI will be trying to contact him about any resolutions or if items need to be doneAnother note is we were scheduled for his project in October and he had to change the dates to the week of Thanksgiving and I told him that would be difficult but we did at least do the carpet removal that Thanksgiving weekendThen he had to have the flooring done and we had to do additional work to cover the flooring because that was not in the contractAnd him moving those dates we had to squeeze his job in between work we had scheduled for November and DecemberThe guys had a lot of hours in there doing the painting and the carpet removal and floor prepI have also spent just under $1,in materials on the projectDoug W***PresidentColorado Painting & Remodeling Pros *** *** *** *** ***

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:We are unable to do any
business with the painting company in question. We chose the company for two reasons: 1) They agreed by contract to begin on
September and the timing was critical to us; 2) They advertised they were a
member of the Revdex.com and we wanted a company with that professional standardWe
cancelled the contract because the company failed to show up on the job as
stated in the contract. Furthermore, after they did not show up and their actions became
suspect, we learned they fraudulently advertised. This business is NOT a member of the Revdex.com. See Attachment.I am getting nowhere in
attempts to resolve issues with the contractor as evidenced below:He does not understand the
word “unless”According to contract, the contractor had days to begin the
job UNLESS a start date was specified. And that date was specified and it was September 28. When it was pointed out that he
failed to call me after two requests, he states in his last response on this
form that he tried to call. You
either make a call or you don’t. He did not make contact with me and did not leave a voice mail messageWhen asked for the deposit
back, he responded “the fact is…it has been paid to materials, sales, and
marketing.” See AttachmentHe did not make comment in his last
response to my statement that he was not a member of the Revdex.com as he had
advertised. Referring back to
Cited above, why would I pay for his acts of fraud in sales and marketing? The amount of the deposit was
$1881. He may deduct the $
paint cost per receipt already furnished. He will return my $remaining deposit to me within days or I
will file legal action. He has not
followed the terms of his contract and he has committed fraud. He misrepresented his company as belonging
to the Revdex.com. This professional
accreditation caused us to have the confidence to enter into a contract. We were misled and certainly he is out
for monetary gain by doing no work and yet expecting to keep a deposit. See Attachment) We must have our remaining
$refund by November or legal action will begin.

I am rejecting this response because: It took approximately 16 months from the time the contract was signed until the job was completed and the contractor provided an accurate invoice.  The need to take the contractor to court, the reluctance of the contractor to follow the terms agreed to in court, caused constant inconvenience.

I will get in touch with the customer this week to figure out what is needed for resolution.

We finished the contracted painting work a long time ago to the customers complete satisfaction, we...

never had a contract for the drywall work, only a proposal that we did not contract for and refered a drywall contractor to them.Doug W[redacted]PresidentColorado Painting & Remodeling Pros [redacted]

Again we could not paint in the winter monthes, almost every night is below freezing and the paint would freeze causing warranty issues. We can paint the exterior still or offer the deposit towards another project of $5000 or more. The exterior can be painted while the house is up for sale or we could even work something out for the new owners. Again weather delayed the 90 day starting timeframe.Tell Yes we had a contract to paint the customers exterior pending weather for the time of year. The colors were chosen in late November and we still had other projects on the books in front of this contract. So the winter weather had set in and we were not able to start the project. We have a 90 day period to start a project pending acts of god, stormy weather, acts of owner or owners agent, labor troubles, etc. etc. etc. (so we could not start within the 90 day period) We have no stipulation to complete before house was to be on the market, (as the customer said sometime next year) We are happy to paint the house sometime when the weather breaks while its on the market, or for a new owner if they want to work something out, or even provide $1500 towards another project of $5000 or more in the future. We are also more than happy to paint over the color samples for the time being if the customer provides an old paint color to color match. The deposit is non refundable after the 3 day cancellation period as it goes to sales and marketing and is stated in the contract. us why here...

We commenced to start work and purchased the materials to be delivered on Sept 30th before any request by owner to cancel. Which again is a 3 day cancellation period. see attached receipt. The statement of UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED START DATE. is implied to be after the 90 day starting time. Our labor was to travel from Fort Collins to Colorado Springs on the 30th to wash and be ready to paint on the 1st, We did not know of their delay until around 6-7pm on the 30th and sent an email informing the owner of the delay right away.We purchased materials and the deposit is non refundable, we are happy to complete the job and satisfy the customer subject to delays caused by act of labor trouble, Also, as to trying to contact us on 10/6. I did not get to the message or email until after 11pm on the 6th, and we tried to contact her first thing on the 7th. well within a timely manner to return the call.Payment: We propose to furnish the above labor and materials. Payment due upon final completion of the work unless otherwise specified paymentterm or agreement outlined above or beside. There are no finance charges of any kind. Late payments will be assessed a delinquent charge atmaximum legally permissible rates.Customer is responsible for color selection.Completion of Work: Colorado Painting Pros (CPP) agrees to commence work within 90 days after execution of this agreement by both parties- unless otherwise specified start date after 90 days - and diligently continue to completion within 10 days, subject to delays caused by act ofGod, acts of the owner or owner’s agent, stormy weather, labor trouble, acts of public utilities and inspectors, extra work or failure of the owner tomake progress payments called by this agreement or contingencies beyond the reasonable control of Colorado Painting Pros LLC. No other agreementsor understandings, verbal or unwritten, expressed or implied are a part of this agreement unless specified herein.*Note: This proposal may be withdrawn if not accepted within 90 days. You the buyer, may cancel this transaction at any time prior to midnight ofthe third business day after the date of this transaction, unless work has commenced by approval of the owner. Owner understands that this agreementshall not bind CPP until approved and fully executed by an officer of Colorado Painting Pros LLC. 30% deposit to CPP reserves a spot on theschedule, non-refundable after 3-day cancellation period & applied to sales, marketing and materials. Acceptance of this proposal shall constitute acontract between the parties for the above-described work according to the terms and conditions set forth by this agreement

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:That is correct, there was no written contractual agreement to have the house completed before it was put on the market; it was a verbal agreement that it would be done within a couple months.  However, the contract does state the project will be started in 90 days, which has been breached.  Even without the painting, there was work to be done on the deck and stairs that could have been done way before hand with the extremely mild winter we have had.  The final paint color was picked out on November 11th; I sent Doug a text that day indicating this.  On November 19th, we still hadn't heard anything from Doug, so I sent him a text to confirm he received my note about paint colors.  He replied on Monday Nov 21st, that he did and would follow up on Monday after the holidays (which would have been Nov 28th).  On December 8th, we still haven't heard from Doug.  We left voice mails for him at this point.  On January 10th, he responded as if he hadn't received any previous messages and said he would start washing and prepping that next week since the weather was going to be nice.  No contact again.  Contacted him via text 5 more times between that and received a text on Jan 6 that he had been know down with the flu.  There were weeks and weeks of nice weather in which the project could have been started; this contract has been breached.  It is egregious to respond that you would be happy to finish the job and utilize the deposit for another $5000 project.  The color samples have already been painted over.  The owner again stated he would contact us last night or this morning, but we know this will never happen.   I reject the offer and request 50% of the deposit refunded ($750).  I also recommend the Revdex.com further investigate this company.
