Comenity Capital Bank Reviews (1308)

I did not login in to my account and request an increase. I rarely use this card so I would not have needed an additional increase. I have a fraud alert on my credit report for reasons such as this when someone request something that was not authorized by me. Remove this inquiry from my credit report or you will be hearing from lawyer.

Dear Sir,I now understand letter and your explanation concerning the amount that I have but I hadn't received any information not the way that it is explained to me. I never talked to anyone about the bill since March 17, 2016. I called Aspen Dental and asked to speak to someone in customer service and I would be (not legible) on hold, no one came to the phone to take to me. I never was told about the amount that I owed was 120.00 after credit. If I had been the amount it would never have gotten to this because I would have payed it.Yours truly[redacted]

I think I have collected all the information you asked for. Iwas advised to use [redacted] for my dental work. I madethe appointment and had my assessment. I was supposed to get thepayment plan for 12 months no interest. Being as an unapprovedperson (Doctor [redacted]) wrote up my contract, somehow it waschanged. I made many visits to the firm, for adjustments. I calledthe Corporate office and was told to make an appointment. I madethe appointment plenty early. I was called to the office, and wastold the Doctor refused to work on my dentures. I left the office .very sad, they kept my teeth. They returned a check to either[redacted] or COMENITY BANK, I do not know which. The check for $2208.00 That [redacted] Returned was for a procedurethey did not perform. That should have lowered my loan, they usedthat money as payment. I paid $4000.00 out of my pocket, andthey used the $2208.00 as payment. That means I paid $6208.00 ona $4963.00 loan. I think somebody owes me some money. Theyshould also pay me interest for my money, that they illegally kept.Between the three companies ([redacted], DENTALFIRST, and COMENITY BANK) they have extra money. I calledDental First three times for a dispute, but it never happened.

Dear [redacted]:  Thank you for contacting the Revdex.com, regarding the above-referenced account.  Comenity Capital Bank issues Haband credit card accounts, and we are here to help with account-related questions.  Your complaint was forwarded to my attention, and...

I appreciate the opportunity to assist you.You state in your complaint that you ordered some clothing from Haband and when it arrived, you immediately returned the product using the return label provided in the original packaging.  You further state that you received a phone call from the Bank in October 2014, attempting to collect on the past due amount.  Although at the end of the conversation you understood the matter to be closed, with no further action required by you, you continue to receive collections calls.  You are requesting the account balance be credited.  We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or frustration this matter may have caused you. Please understand that Comenity Capital Bank and Haband are two separate entities.  Comenity Capital Bank is responsible for addressing questions related to your credit card account, while Haband is responsible for handling matters related to sales, merchandise processing, returns, and shipping.Additionally, please keep in mind, when ordering merchandise by mail, your credit card account is charged for the cost of the merchandise, as well as shipping and handling.  When the merchandise is returned, your account is credited for the cost of the merchandise only; shipping and handling is not refunded.  Additionally, if you use the provided label for the return, your account is billed $9.99 for the cost of the return shipping. On September 25, 2015, Haband issued a credit of $15.96 to remove the shipping and handling charge and the return label fee.  In the interest of customer service, the Bank has issued credits totaling $182.85 to remove the late fees, and finance charges which were previously assessed.  As of today’s date, the account balance is zero.Due to this account being reported as a charge off, on September 10, 2015, Comenity Capital Bank sent a request to the credit bureaus to delete the Haband account from your credit report.  We can confirm that this information has been updated, and is no longer appearing on your credit bureau report. We hope you find this information helpful.  If you have any questions, or need additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at ###-###-####, ext. Iappreciate the opportunity to assist you.In your complaint, you state that you financed your daughter’s Brain Balance program on youraccount and the purchase was placed on a 24 month interest free financing promotional plan. You further state that you opted to receive electronic statements and were only able to view thefirst page of the statement; however, you were making payments of $250.00 a month, whichwas more than the required minimum payment due. You further state that when you went tomake your final payment this month, you saw that your account was charged $1,601.00 for theaccrued finance charge. You are requesting that the accrued finance charge assessed to youraccount be waived. I understand your concerns and apologize for any inconvenience orfrustration this matter may have caused you.Our records indicate that on March 19, 2014, a purchase of $6,100.00 posted to your accountand was placed on a 24-month deferred interest, payment required plan that was set to expireon March 20, 2016. For purchases on these plans, the customer is required to make paymentson the promotional plan balance based on the standard repayment terms for their account.Interest is accrued (calculated, but not added to the balance) and if the balance is not paid in fullby the plan end date, the accrued finance charges, which were calculated from the date of theoriginal purchase, will be added to the deferred balance, and this balance will be moved to thecustomer’s revolving balance. Please be advised that the information regarding yourpromotional plans appeared on your monthly billing statements, under the heading, “details ofyour plans”. I have enclosed your billing statements for your review. Please be advised that a statement was issued to you on February 22, 2016, showing a balanceof $375.00 with a minimum payment of $27.00 due by March 19, 2016. Under the “details ofyour plans” section of your statement, it stated that the promotional balance of $375.00 neededto be paid by March 20, 2016, to avoid the accrued finance charge. As a result of thepromotional balance not being paid in full by the plan expiration date, the accrued interest of$1,506.61 was assessed to your account on March 20, 2016, and the remaining promotionalbalance of $125.00 was moved to revolving, which is subject to normal monthly financecharges.Although Comenity Capital Bank did not find any errors with the account, in the interest ofcustomer service, a total credit of $754.00 was issued to your account on April 25, 2016.Please be advised we are unwilling to remove any additional fees, as they are valid.Your payment of $783.57 was received on May 5, 2016, and the account has a zero balance. We hope that this information is helpful. Comenity Capital Bank (Bank) has received correspondence regarding the above-referencedaccount. Comenity Capital Bank issues the Barneys New York credit card. We are here to answeryour questions and assist with your concerns. The correspondence, sent from [redacted] Trust, is requesting...

a validation of debtfor the above-noted account. This letter is for informational purposes to respond to thecorrespondence and is not an attempt to collect on this balance. Please find a summary of yourBarneys New York account below. Enclosed you will find a copy of your Credit Card Agreement(CCA) and copies of your billing statements showing the account activity that resulted in theaccount balance and payment history, which are reporting to the credit reporting agencies.Your account was opened on February 12, 2016; use of the account or failure to close the accountwithin 30 days of receiving the CCA indicated your acceptance of the terms of the Agreement, including the assessment of any finance charges and fees. The last purchase of $1,576.99 wasmade on February 12, 2016; and the last payment of $80.00 was received on February 2, 2017.Your account was charged off due to nonpayment on July 6, 2017, and was later sold to [redacted]Credit on September 25, 2017. After reviewing our records, we have found the credit reporting foryour account to be accurate as a “Charge-off” that was purchased by another entity. When an account is sold to another entity, the outstanding balance from the former creditorbecomes zero. Since your account was sold, we are reporting a zero balance owed to ComenityCapital Bank as of the date of the account transfer. Please note that the purchasing entity may begin to report your account under its name as thenew creditor, so it is possible for your account to appear on your credit report under both theoriginal creditor (with a zero balance) and the new creditor.I hope you found this information to be helpful. for any additional information about your account, you will need to contact [redacted] Credit at ###-###-####.SincerelyKristina W[redacted]Compliance Dept. – Consumer ResponsesEnclosurescc: Revdex.com

Dear Ms. [redacted] Thank you for contacting the Revdex.com regarding the above-noted accounts.  Comenity Bank issues your meijer® and Pottery Barn credit card accounts, and we respond to all account-related concerns. Your correspondence was forwarded to my attention, and I appreciate...

the opportunity to assist you. I understand your concerns regarding the inquiries that have reported to your credit file, which you state you did not authorize, and you would like them removed. Please be assured that I have reviewed your accounts and our records indicate that a credit limit increase was requested on September 8, 2016, via the Bank’s Account Center for the meijer® account. Additionally, a credit limit increase was requested on the Pottery Barn account, when you contacted our Customer Care department by telephone.  Please understand that by accepting the terms and agreements of the Bank, you provide permission for the Bank to review your credit bureau report should that be needed.  However, please understand that a credit bureau review is not always necessary. As a courtesy, on September 16, 2016, a request was sent to the credit-reporting agencies with instructions to remove the hard  inquiries from your credit file.  Please note, due to their compliance policies, the credit bureaus do not delete inquiries from a consumer’s credit bureau report.  However, when the Bank requests that an inquiry be removed, the credit bureaus will change it to a soft inquiry.  This means that the inquiry only appears when the customer pulls his or her own credit report.  A soft inquiry does not appear on a consumer’s credit report that is provided to a lender or any other authorized party, and it does not impact the consumer’s credit score.  Therefore, you will continue to see the inquiry on your credit report, but it will not be visible to anyone else who may pull your credit report.  Please allow 45 days for these updates to be reflected. We hope the information provided is helpful.  If you have any further questions or concerns regarding the accounts, please contact me at ###-###-####, ext. [redacted] (TDD/TTY ###-###-####).  I will be happy to assist. Sincerely, Justina M[redacted]

This response ignores the fact that I am still to this day unable to log into the https://comenity.net/zalesoutlet site to pay off the entire balance that has accrued. This is exact reason why my balance has continued to accrue late fees regardless whether comenity does or does not offer automatic payments. Therefore, why am I being held accountable for late fees when comenity has failed to offer assistance with me trying to log into their site to pay off the balance. In addition, as stated in Kaija's response letter "When an account is delinquent, we will make proactive attempts to contact the customer, communicate the situation and work out payment arrangements to minimize any negative credit reporting". This statement is entirely false because I have received zero telephone calls or written communication to resolve this matter. I am more than willing to provide my call records going back the past 4 months to prove that no one has attempted to resolve this matter. At this point because my credit rating has been affected, I have now hired an attorney and am in the process of filing a lawsuit against Comenity. If comenity had made the proper contact attempts like they claim and provided accurate responses it would have been able to save them the money that it will cost for litigation.

Dear Mr. [redacted]: We recently received a complaint, addressed to the Revdex.com, regarding the GameStop PowerUp Rewards™ credit card account. Comenity Capital Bank issues GameStop PowerUp Rewards™ credit card accounts, and we respond to all account-related inquiries. I...

appreciate the opportunity to assist you. We understand from your complaint, on March 15, 2015, a GameStop PowerUp Rewards™ application was fraudulently submitted using your identify. As soon as you were notified by your credit monitoring service of the application on March 17, 2015, you contacted GameStop and Comenity Capital Bank. At which time, you completed all the required documentation needed to file a fraud claim. You were assured that the matter was resolved, however, a recent review of your credit file indicated that the fraudulent account was still reporting as an open account with a balance of $1,411.00. You are requesting the Bank correct the information reporting on your credit file. After a thorough investigation, our records indicate that a request was sent to the credit-reporting agencies on June 17, 2015, with instructions to delete the GameStop PowerUp Rewards™ account, in its entirety, from your credit file, due to a fraudulent application. We apologize if the information was not updated at that time. Our records further indicate that you contacted our Account Protection (Fraud) team on December 28, 2015, regarding the GameStop PowerUp Rewards™ account still reporting on your credit file. As a result, Comenity Capital Bank sent a second request to the credit-reporting agencies to delete the above-noted account from your credit file on December 28, 2015. Please be advised that it may take the credit-reporting agencies 45 days to update their records. Since you have been a victim of identity theft, we encourage you to place a fraud alert on your credit file. This will advise potential creditors that you have been a victim, and additional verification will be required before an account can be established. I have spoken to several representatives at this company by phone. NO ONE seems to know how they came up with balance that they say I owe. My contract was for complete services. This type of service requires all treatments for results. American Laser filed bankruptcy. The full amount should have been written off. No one has disclosed the details of the bankruptcy. As a consumer, you are asking me to pay for services that were incomplete and useless (A waste of my time and money). Again, I am disputing the balance you continue to harass me for (via phone, email and mail). I read your letter. I understand your letter. However, I do not agree with the content of your letter. Resending the same letter does not address the dispute that I have not received the services that you are billing me for.Sincerely,

Please find the enclosed statement and receipts and packing slips from Roman's Comenity and a bill from Woman Within. I have never ordered from Woman Within and I dispute any charges that they are billing me for. Please let me know if further documentation is needed.Thank you,[redacted]
