Comenity Capital Bank Reviews (1308)

Dear [redacted]:   Comenity Capital Bank has received your correspondence regarding the above-referenced account. Comenity Capital Bank issues the Smile Generation Financial credit card. We are here to answer your questions and assist with your concerns.   We understand from...

your complaint, you have shared your feedback regarding the auto-payment, as a payment option. You missed a payment and called the Bank and requested the late fee be removed as a courtesy. You were informed that it hasn’t been 18 months since the last late fee waiver and you explained that the last late fee was waived due to the system not accepting your payment. You feel the Bank is very short and rude to you. You request the late fee of $27.00 removed as a courtesy. I am happy to share my findings.     We have reviewed the concerns in your correspondence, as well as the applicable telephone conversations. We apologize if you felt you did not receive the best customer service. We never intend to treat our customers in a less-than-satisfactory manner. We are committed to providing the best customer service and are disappointed when a customer feels this standard was not met   Please note the due date is the 16th of each month. Please keep in mind that when payments are not received, are received after the due date, or are made for less than the minimum required, the account will be assessed a late fee, as explained in the Credit Card Agreement.   When you contacted the Bank on May 25, 2017, you were informed that the account was not eligible for a late fee credit, as a late fee credit was provided on February 3, 2016.   Due to no Bank error, we respectfully decline your request to remove any additional late fees.   For your convenience, we offer several payment options:     Online: Online payments submitted through the Bank’s online Account Center before 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) will be credited to your account on the same day, unless you select a date in the future. Online payments submitted after 8:00 p.m. ET will be credited the following day (or on a future scheduled payment date).   Mail: Send your payment and payment coupon in the envelope that came with your billing statement. We recommend allowing a week for the payment to arrive. If you’re a paperless customer, print out a payment stub on the online account management site so your payment is processed as quickly as possible.   Phone: If you need to make a same-day payment, you may call us at the phone number on the back of your billing statement before 8:00 p.m. ET to speak to a customer care representative. A fee may apply to same-day, expedited payments made with the representative.   The above information and more can be found by visiting:   http://www.comenity.net/comenity/UsingAccount/CustomerResourceCenter   I hope you have found this information to be helpful. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at (800) 820-8932.             Sincerely,   [redacted] Compliance Dept. – Consumer Responses

Dear [redacted]:  Thank you for contacting the Revdex.com, regarding the above-referenced account.  Comenity Capital Bank issues Haband credit card accounts, and we are here to help with account-related questions.  Your complaint was forwarded to my attention, and...

I appreciate the opportunity to assist you.You state in your complaint that you ordered some clothing from Haband and when it arrived, you immediately returned the product using the return label provided in the original packaging.  You further state that you received a phone call from the Bank in October 2014, attempting to collect on the past due amount.  Although at the end of the conversation you understood the matter to be closed, with no further action required by you, you continue to receive collections calls.  You are requesting the account balance be credited.  We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or frustration this matter may have caused you. Please understand that Comenity Capital Bank and Haband are two separate entities.  Comenity Capital Bank is responsible for addressing questions related to your credit card account, while Haband is responsible for handling matters related to sales, merchandise processing, returns, and shipping.Additionally, please keep in mind, when ordering merchandise by mail, your credit card account is charged for the cost of the merchandise, as well as shipping and handling.  When the merchandise is returned, your account is credited for the cost of the merchandise only; shipping and handling is not refunded.  Additionally, if you use the provided label for the return, your account is billed $9.99 for the cost of the return shipping. On September 25, 2015, Haband issued a credit of $15.96 to remove the shipping and handling charge and the return label fee.  In the interest of customer service, the Bank has issued credits totaling $182.85 to remove the late fees, and finance charges which were previously assessed.  As of today’s date, the account balance is zero.Due to this account being reported as a charge off, on September 10, 2015, Comenity Capital Bank sent a request to the credit bureaus to delete the Haband account from your credit report.  We can confirm that this information has been updated, and is no longer appearing on your credit bureau report. We hope you find this information helpful.  If you have any questions, or need additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at ###-###-####, ext. You are requesting that these fees be waived. We understand your concernsand apologize for any frustration this may have caused you.Our records indicate that the due date on your account is on the 19th of every month and for themonth of June 2016, the Bank received your payment after the due date; therefore, a late fee wasassessed to your account. Please be advised that on July 12, 2016, a credit of $27.00 was issuedto your account for the late fee. Furthermore, please be advised that when a late fee is assessedto your account, the minimum payment will increase. This response ignores the fact that I am still to this day unable to log into the https://comenity.net/zalesoutlet site to pay off the entire balance that has accrued. This is exact reason why my balance has continued to accrue late fees regardless whether comenity does or does not offer automatic payments. Therefore, why am I being held accountable for late fees when comenity has failed to offer assistance with me trying to log into their site to pay off the balance. In addition, as stated in Kaija's response letter "When an account is delinquent, we will make proactive attempts to contact the customer, communicate the situation and work out payment arrangements to minimize any negative credit reporting". This statement is entirely false because I have received zero telephone calls or written communication to resolve this matter. I am more than willing to provide my call records going back the past 4 months to prove that no one has attempted to resolve this matter. At this point because my credit rating has been affected, I have now hired an attorney and am in the process of filing a lawsuit against Comenity. If comenity had made the proper contact attempts like they claim and provided accurate responses it would have been able to save them the money that it will cost for litigation.

Comenity Capital Bank (Bank) has received correspondence regarding the above-referencedaccount. Comenity Capital Bank issues the Barneys New York credit card. We are here to answeryour questions and assist with your concerns. The correspondence, sent from [redacted] Trust, is requesting...

a validation of debtfor the above-noted account. This letter is for informational purposes to respond to thecorrespondence and is not an attempt to collect on this balance. Please find a summary of yourBarneys New York account below. Enclosed you will find a copy of your Credit Card Agreement(CCA) and copies of your billing statements showing the account activity that resulted in theaccount balance and payment history, which are reporting to the credit reporting agencies.Your account was opened on February 12, 2016; use of the account or failure to close the accountwithin 30 days of receiving the CCA indicated your acceptance of the terms of the Agreement, including the assessment of any finance charges and fees. The last purchase of $1,576.99 wasmade on February 12, 2016; and the last payment of $80.00 was received on February 2, 2017.Your account was charged off due to nonpayment on July 6, 2017, and was later sold to [redacted]Credit on September 25, 2017. After reviewing our records, we have found the credit reporting foryour account to be accurate as a “Charge-off” that was purchased by another entity. When an account is sold to another entity, the outstanding balance from the former creditorbecomes zero. Since your account was sold, we are reporting a zero balance owed to ComenityCapital Bank as of the date of the account transfer. Please note that the purchasing entity may begin to report your account under its name as thenew creditor, so it is possible for your account to appear on your credit report under both theoriginal creditor (with a zero balance) and the new creditor.I hope you found this information to be helpful. for any additional information about your account, you will need to contact [redacted] Credit at ###-###-####.SincerelyKristina W[redacted]Compliance Dept. – Consumer ResponsesEnclosurescc: Revdex.com

Dear Ms. [redacted] Thank you for contacting the Revdex.com regarding the above-noted accounts.  Comenity Bank issues your meijer® and Pottery Barn credit card accounts, and we respond to all account-related concerns. Your correspondence was forwarded to my attention, and I appreciate...

the opportunity to assist you. I understand your concerns regarding the inquiries that have reported to your credit file, which you state you did not authorize, and you would like them removed. Please be assured that I have reviewed your accounts and our records indicate that a credit limit increase was requested on September 8, 2016, via the Bank’s Account Center for the meijer® account. Additionally, a credit limit increase was requested on the Pottery Barn account, when you contacted our Customer Care department by telephone.  Please understand that by accepting the terms and agreements of the Bank, you provide permission for the Bank to review your credit bureau report should that be needed.  However, please understand that a credit bureau review is not always necessary. As a courtesy, on September 16, 2016, a request was sent to the credit-reporting agencies with instructions to remove the hard  inquiries from your credit file.  Please note, due to their compliance policies, the credit bureaus do not delete inquiries from a consumer’s credit bureau report.  However, when the Bank requests that an inquiry be removed, the credit bureaus will change it to a soft inquiry.  This means that the inquiry only appears when the customer pulls his or her own credit report.  A soft inquiry does not appear on a consumer’s credit report that is provided to a lender or any other authorized party, and it does not impact the consumer’s credit score.  Therefore, you will continue to see the inquiry on your credit report, but it will not be visible to anyone else who may pull your credit report.  Please allow 45 days for these updates to be reflected. We hope the information provided is helpful.  If you have any further questions or concerns regarding the accounts, please contact me at ###-###-####, ext. [redacted] (TDD/TTY ###-###-####).  I will be happy to assist. Sincerely, Justina M[redacted]

I think I have collected all the information you asked for. Iwas advised to use [redacted] for my dental work. I madethe appointment and had my assessment. I was supposed to get thepayment plan for 12 months no interest. Being as an unapprovedperson (Doctor [redacted]) wrote up my contract, somehow it waschanged. I made many visits to the firm, for adjustments. I calledthe Corporate office and was told to make an appointment. I madethe appointment plenty early. I was called to the office, and wastold the Doctor refused to work on my dentures. I left the office .very sad, they kept my teeth. They returned a check to either[redacted] or COMENITY BANK, I do not know which. The check for $2208.00 That [redacted] Returned was for a procedurethey did not perform. That should have lowered my loan, they usedthat money as payment. I paid $4000.00 out of my pocket, andthey used the $2208.00 as payment. That means I paid $6208.00 ona $4963.00 loan. I think somebody owes me some money. Theyshould also pay me interest for my money, that they illegally kept.Between the three companies ([redacted], DENTALFIRST, and COMENITY BANK) they have extra money. I calledDental First three times for a dispute, but it never happened.

You were assured that the matter was resolved, however, a recent review of your credit file indicated that the fraudulent account was still reporting as an open account with a balance of $1,411.00. You are requesting the Bank correct the information reporting on your credit file. After a thorough investigation, our records indicate that a request was sent to the credit-reporting agencies on June 17, 2015, with instructions to delete the GameStop PowerUp Rewards™ account, in its entirety, from your credit file, due to a fraudulent application. We apologize if the information was not updated at that time. Our records further indicate that you contacted our Account Protection (Fraud) team on December 28, 2015, regarding the GameStop PowerUp Rewards™ account still reporting on your credit file. As a result, Comenity Capital Bank sent a second request to the credit-reporting agencies to delete the above-noted account from your credit file on December 28, 2015. Please be advised that it may take the credit-reporting agencies 45 days to update their records. Since you have been a victim of identity theft, we encourage you to place a fraud alert on your credit file. Dear Ms. [redacted] We received your complaint, addressed to the Revdex.com, regarding your HSN credit card account. Comenity Capital Bank issues HSN credit card accounts, and we respond to all account-related questions.  Your complaint was forwarded to my attention, and I...

appreciate the opportunity to assist you. We understand from the complaint that you were making a purchase using your HSN credit card and the transaction declined. When you went online to the Account Center website your balance was $1,666.15 and your credit limit is $1,700.00; therefore you believe you should have had an available credit of $33.84. You further state that you called in to the Customer Service line and spoke with a representative who sated your available credit was -$32.00 because you made a $60.00 purchase, which you state is not true. We understand your concerns, and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this matter may have caused you. We have reviewed the issues in your complaint as well as the applicable telephone conversations. We apologize if you felt you did not receive the best customer service. We never intend to treat our customers in a less-than-satisfactory manner. We are committed to providing the best customer service and are disappointed when a customer feels this standard was not met. After a thorough investigation our records indicate on April 18, 2016, you had a balance of $1,666.15 with an available credit of -$32.00.
