Comfort Keepers

My 95 year old Dad, who has lived alone in his home in Spokane since his wife passed away 10 years ago, recently had a serious fall and was hospitalized. I had tried to hire caregivers for him in the past and he always canceled service after I left town. He was also unwilling to move in with any of his kids. Dad is very independent and insisted he didn't need any help!
He recently had a serious fall and was not able to get up, and he spent many hours on the floor.
When he didn't answer his phone, I called his neighbor to check on him. He was hospitalized
and they recommended he have 24/7 care from now on.
I called Erica M at Comfort Keepers Spokane, and she miraculously was able to set up round the clock care for Dad ASAP! The caregivers have been wonderful! I was able to meet several of them because I stayed with my Dad for a couple of weeks before returning to Indiana. They are taking great care of him, as if he was part of their own family! Dad's really enjoying the tasty meals they're preparing for him, and they are helping him in the shower, doing his laundry, feeding his cat, and doing light housekeeping!
A physical therapist was there one afternoon and she asked him how everyone was treating him.
Dad got a little choked up and said, "I couldn't have asked for better caregivers to help me, and I'm so thankful they're here." And this is coming from a proud man who was highly resistant to having anyone help him!
Comfort Keepers has given my Dad the opportunity to remain in his home, which was always his goal, and also has given me and my family great peace of mind that he is safe and being cared for, especially when I live 2000 miles away!

I live with my 90 year old mother in her home. I work in a local hospital and occasionally she has a flare up of gout which can render her incapacitated and she needs help getting up, getting fed and getting to the toilet. Erica and her Comfort Keepers have been a tremendous help to us when I have to work and cannot take care of Mom. Erica has always come through with a helper even under last minute conditions with little to no notice to her. I'm kind of her problem child in that respect but she has always come through for us.
