I used [redacted] Van Lines for a move from DC to Dallas, and [redacted] subcontracted through these guysI was not aware my move would be subcontracted until Budget Moving called meI did not receive hour notice before the movers' arrival - the call came at COB the day before my scheduled pickupDuring this call, I was cut off and the call was droppedUpon trying multiple times to call back, I received no answer and was unable to leave a voicemail (mailbox was full)Luckily, I received a call back after about minutes confirming my scheduled pickup The day of my pickup, the movers arrived earlier than quoted, and I only received minutes advance noticeLuckily I was able to get home in time, and the movers were very polite and efficient once at my housePacking and loading didn't take long, and I was informed on the date of the move that delivery might take an extra day or two past what I had originally scheduled Upon initially scheduling the move, I set my first availabl

Budget moving and storage delivered my furniture damaged ( broken tv , ripped mattresses, broken dining table, stained mattresses , damage dryer , broken glasses ) The delivery guy refused to deliver my stuff until I paid him extra money and didn't install the furniture like the agreement said I called the company I dealt with, they sent me claim form so I Sent the claim with pictures of the damages!!! They didn't respond !!!the insurance company covered$85(price of the weight ) When I called the company in Maryland this morning zack answered me in very disrespectful way and told me they're blocking my number and don't want to deal with me This is zack phone number: [redacted] Please call me for more information Thanks for your support

DO NOT USE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE I hired Budget Moving and Storage, LLC, of Rockville, Maryland, for my November move I received several bids via moving.com and Budget provided the lowest, at $ Based on the provided estimate, I anticipated roughly $worth of additional charges between, "materials," "travel time," and "fuel surcharge." This still put them slightly below other estimates, so I accepted the offer from Chris Grant, Senior Relocation Specialist I boxed everything except furniture myself, in an attempt to keep the labor hours as close to the estimate as possible On moving day, I had the cargo elevator booked at my old apartment from 11–and the elevator at my new building from 2– Chris and I agreed that based on the amount of furniture and boxes I had to move, would be too early and the crew would end up sitting around at the drop off location for close to an hour We settled on a noon arrival time The day of my move, nobody has arrived or called by 12:15, so I called Chris He says he'll have the driver call me No call, no show by 12:I call Chris again; he says the crew will arrive between and 1:I remind him I lose the elevator at He tells me we had a 12–arrival window Not only was this arrival "window" never mentioned before, but I reminded him that we discussed how I had the elevator starting at and he agreed that was too early He tells me, "That's the nature of the business." Unconfident that Budget will arrive within my elevator window (or at all), I move all boxes and any furniture I can carry down to the loading dock All told, I haul around 1,pounds of stuff myself At 1:05, I get a call from the driver stating their ETA is 1:40–1: They arrive at 2:00, having completely missed my elevator window Luckily, my old building is very accommodating and is able to extend my elevator time to 5: Together, we pack the truck and leave by 3: The crew uses an entire roll of my packing tape and gouges the drywall with the corner of a bookcase On the way to my car, I find they've forgotten my carpet in the elevator We're now on the road at 4:00, instead of 2:as planned, so we hit rush hour traffic I arrive at my new building before 4: The truck arrives at 5:for some reason, which is the end of my elevator window at the new building Thankfully, my new building is also able to extend my elevator window While unwrapping my furniture, we discover they've chipped the corner off the only nice piece of furniture I own—a sturdy, solid wood coffee table—likely because they were rushing to make up time When we go to settle on payment, I find I'm being charged for the time the truck spent in rush hour traffic (including the extra half hour I sat waiting for them at the drop off location, which the crew has no explanation for), plus fuel costs during that time I'm also charged $for materials, including $apiece to wrap two TVs, $apiece to put plastic wrap around my mattress and box spring, and packing tape—which was my tape! Apparently, there was a readily available materials price list, which Chris failed to give me Had I seen it in advance, I'd have moved the TVs and wrapped the mattresses myself The grand total is now $650, which is nearly double the estimate I was provided and solidly in the middle of the pack for all the estimates I received I start to argue this additional in-traffic labor time and the materials costs with the crew chief, but he says he has no control over it and I have to take it up with management I pay them and they leave This was a Friday, so I email Chris on Monday, letting him know I need to make an insurance claim for my table and that I want to give him a chance to make this right before writing their review No response I email him again two days later No response I call him He doesn't take my call I leave a message A few hours later, I get an email response, apologizing for how badly things went He sends me a claim form and says he's discussing a partial refund with management A week goes by—radio silence I email him again asking about the status of the refund and the response I get is, "We value and learn from all customers and we again deeply apologize for the damage." I should've read deeper on their reviews Apparently, low-balling the estimate and then holding your stuff hostage while they try to bilk you for double is their MO (https://bit.ly/2P0uH5v) I had also confused some star reviews for Budget Moving and Storage *of Bethesda [redacted] as belonging to these guys This appears to be the same company, but the two locations have drastically different reviews I'm now disputing the charge with my bank Not only was the pricing deceitful and the agreservice significantly not delivered, but as I see it, Budget owes *me [redacted] for labor and materials

I originally set up my move through A [redacted] Moving & Storage but they set up the moves and don't own any trucksThey assigned Budget Moving & Storage out of Rockville, MdI instructed A [redacted] when I set up the move it needed to be picked up from Youngstown, Ohio on April 14th and delivered to Fayetteville, Arkansas April 18th, A [redacted] Lines told me they had a truck picking up in Warren, Ohio and delivering to FtSmith, Arkansas so my dates would be no problemThey picked up my furniture April around 4:PM and then my nightmare beganThe first thing they told me was it would cost me an additional $as I was overweightI had a binding contract for $and my new total became $They did not deliver until April 27, adding additional expense for living in a hotel those extra daysWhen they arrived on April 27thmany of the boxes were soaked and some of the contents were ruinedIn addition to that they damaged two walls in a brand new home as well as destroyed a desk trying to get it in the roomA frame on our flat screen TV was broke as well as a large painting broke in placesFinally they shorted us about boxes as well as other pieces of furnitureThey delivered them about to weeks later and still shorted us a step-ladder, bookcase and more boxes which I will never getThey have a lot of fine print in their contract so it would be a waste of my time to file a claim against themI want to warn potential customers to read your contract well, and forget about the 5% minimum upcharge on your moving billI wouldn't trust these people to move a dog house across the street much less household goods half way across the countryAs far as A [redacted] Moving & Storage? They will refuse to answer your calls or e-mails to answer your complaints or concerns

Budget Moving and Storage has been extremely unprofessional throughout my entire dealing with them, but my main complaint is that they destroyed over $worth of furniture in ways that do not align with wear and tear of moving and they are using the limited liability contract to justify that they are only willing to pay $(the approximate weight of the items, as per the contract they are citing) to cover the damages and they also refuse to give me information regarding their insurance arbitration processAs I understand it, the limited liability contract is meant to protect movers from being charged unjustly for damages that are considered standard with cross-country or interstate moves; however, the damages to my furniture were exceptional and strangeThe full value protection was also not included in my original estimate, I found out when my items were picked up, they’d only prepared me for the limited liability contract and told me that it was standard I stat

Plans were in place for [redacted] of Unit # [redacted] and me of Unit # [redacted] to move from our two separate aprtments in the same building located in Washington DC to a single-family home together in La Vale, MD Our agreement with our building owner in August of was that our move-out date would be Tuesday - 9/19/by 1pm So, we began our search for a moving company [redacted] ’s and my plans were to only rent [redacted] Truck and a Tow Trailer for his pitruck He was going to drive the [redacted] equipment And, the moving company’s responsibility was to load/unload and dive the second truck After learning of our move-out agreement, [redacted] and I had our first contact with John A [redacted] of Budget Moving and Storage, LLC (Budget) on 8/14/2017, and told him about our deadline We also informed John of my being wheelchair-bound and that we tenants were charged with the burden of making our own moving arrangements from that property So, prior to [redacted] and

The company said they would arrive between 12-2pm They would call when they were minutes outThey called to say 3:30pm initially, then again to say they were minute away My husband kept calling because it was after 4:pm and no one would answer John (the relocation consultant) was ignoring his calls Finally showed up and started at 5pm Did not bring the appropriate sized truck They brought a 4th man (we scheduled 3), for free, for the inconvenience of arriving late We told them we had a large storage unit (x 30) and would require a 26' truck The driver said they had bigger trucks, but it wasn't available They could not fit all of our items into the truck, so they left the ramp open and secured our belongings and drove up the highway with our things hanging out of the back of the truck Arrived and began unloading things, but were unable to assemble our kids cribs because it was dark outside and we had no lamps set up in the house Left before pm We

I just had a bad experience with them as well! Somehow I was billed $for packing suppliesI was only moving a studio apartmentI already had boxes and packed everything myselfThey only provided two wardrobe boxes ( which I was told it was included with the moving quote I was given) Long story short, I had my belongings held hostage in the truck until I paid the bill they presented...at that point, there was nothing else I could have done (maybe I should have called the cops) when they had all my things in the truck and the movers attitude was something like " oh yeah...what are you gonna do?" I tried calling the company, but surprise! The number that I called to schedule the move and to confirm the move was no longer functional...Using this company is one stupid mistake I will never make again! If you choose to go with them, be careful! They will nail you for packing supplies that do not exist!

This company does not do honest businessThey gave you a quote that you all agreed to but when they come to move your stuffs, be mindful of additional charges you are not aware ofWhat the office agreed to is certainly different when the guys come outRyan is the office guy and he will tell you all the untruth things to encourage you but when the guys come to move your things, you'll get the surprisesI cannot recommend this moving company to anybody

Another moving company brokered this company to move my things without my consentThey show up and want $+ $(surcharge) additional and you're stuck at that point because it's moving dayBy their own contract a move of miles should be 7-business daysI have waited theee weeks for my stuffI call several times every week and am told the same thing as I was told by Martin this morning 9/16, he can physically see the truck being loadedI asked for a senior manager to call me and he said all he can do is pass along the messageI told him I will have the sheriff here when the moving truck arrives so there is no furniture hostage nonsense happeningNo company should be allowed to have a license and lie to people and withhold their belongingsDel Valle is just outside Austin TX and no damage at all occurred by the hurricaneThis delay was caused by this company as they searched for the cheapest way to get my belongings here so they could have a higher profit and I

My wife and I decided to move from DC to NY for personal reasons and after submitting for quotes, Assurance Van Lines was the first company to call that didn’t' seem like total thieves (totally wrong) A sales rep named Ryan contacted us after submitting for quotes and was our point of contact when planning the move He certainly knew how to sweet talk us because there were several things he shared that ended up being not true This review also encompasses Budget Moving and Storage which is based out of Rockville Maryland, and was contracted by Assurance Van Lines to do the moveTo start with, we worked with Ryan S*** from Assurance based in the New York City office and explained that our target was Memorial Day weekend but we were open on drop-off and pickup (pickup being Friday/Saturday, drop-off Tuesday/Wednesday) due to the nature of the holiday weekend He understood the situation and assured us that we would know when our pickup was 5-days before (Lie #1) This caused us to have to coordinate with both our old apartment and new apartment building for moving elevators, but not really a big deal as both buildings were accommodating to our situation Turns out we didn’t 'know our pick up until hours ahead We were also told that according to Department of Transportation rules that they could have up to business days to deliver our stuff because of the nature of our move (which was fine, but we once again explained our situation with the NYC apartment and how they had restrictions, and started early to cover ourselves) In addition, we were also told that we would not need to wrap the TV, dresser, lamps etcand that they would be provided as part of the move (lie #2) However, we were then told the week of that we would be responsible for wrapping everything Fortunately we had enough supplies but it was still a surprise and a lie There was an additional cost for the additional packing supplies even though we provided items that were requested by the movers Additional items such as boxes, cardboard, which weren’t even used but we had to incur the expenseWe were also told that our stuff would not be removed from a truck (Lie #3), and we’d be the only stuff on the truck (lie #4) during the transport and that it would sit locally over the weekend in a secure location (Lie #5) and that worst case we would get days free storage if there was a lag on delivery and we would give permission in a worst case scenario (lie #6) During pickup our move went pretty smoothly We got a crew of led by the driver Zach and they worked as efficiently and as fast as they could The only surprise to us was that we would have to get an extra charge due to the amount of feet from the truck to the apartment (first feet were free) While this was a surprise, it was in our contract Alex was nice enough to guestimate and didn’t go exact which we greatly appreciated We were very nice to this crew as we were very ready, offered them breakfast and drinks (which was the direction of Ryan) and made sure they were okay throughout the moving process We also discussed with Zach that we liked their work so much that we wanted them to do our drop-off While he couldn’t promise anything we put in a request and were told that this would be made to happen on the back end We were also told that we would get a call either Sunday or Monday with a drop-off time for Tuesday or Wednesday by both the dispatcher and Alex (lie #7) We were fine with this and also explained that the elevators were only available a certain period of time both days and we really needed to make sure the delivery lined up with what was available They reassured us and said that it would be perfectly fineFast forward to Monday at 4pm and I still have not received any type of information from Budget Moving and Storage and I decide to give them a call Alex picks up and half hazard says that they can’t do our drop-off until Thursday or Friday I explain to him our situation with the elevators and we were promised Tuesday or Wednesday, but he said that there was nothing he could do and that a truck broke down and that our stuff was on a truck sitting in Maryland (which we were also told our stuff wouldn’t be but refer to lie #3) I let him know that I couldn’t make a decision on which day until I spoke to the Parker Towers rep in the Parker Towers office since she coordinated the times of moving for the building, and then I would give him a callThe next morning, Tuesday May 30th my wife and I arrive at Parker Towers and explain the situation to the Parker Towers rep at the front desk She looks at the schedule and says that Thursday and Friday are booked but that Monday was available for a drop-off My wife then picked up the phone to call Alex to relay the logistics and Alex at this point is very rude to her and states that if we don’t have our drop-off by the end of the week our stuff would be going to a storage facility and that we would be responsible for moving everything! Real nice guy At this point both of us nearly lost it and explained what was going on to the Parker towers Rep who got us a manager to explain the situation Fortunately the manager offered the Thursday early and mentioned that we could have a bill created to send to Budget Moving and Storage She also offered us a discount on how much it would be since it was technically out of their designated moving hours Once we discussed with the manager, our leasing agent and the Parker Towers coordinator what was happening they agreed to have us call Alex to relay the logistics and mention that we would need them to be at our building no later than 7am because we had to give up the elevator at 10am for another move While all of us are sitting with Alex on speakerphone and I mention to him that we have the elevator from 7-10am and that I need his guys here by 7am, he then states to me “well I’ll have the guys there by 8”, which to all of us in the room say “No please be here by 7am because we need you done by 10am” He “Yeah yeahs” us and says they’ll be there by 7am” (also a lie, lie #6) At this point we really wanted our stuff and were upset because everything that was told to us was downright wrong In addition, we also have an email from Budget Movers stating that the movers will arrive between 7-8am and complete the drop-off by 10am, even though we asked for arrival by 7am This at least confirmed that they knew they had a limited window, even though we only got moving men In addition, any move before 10am would cost us an hour, which was another additional cost we had to take because of the lack of competence from both Assurance and Budget MovingFast-forward to Thursday June 1st when the movers are supposed to arrive at 7am We receive a phone call at 645am that the guys (only of them this time, which we were told on the phone previously we would get guys again, lie #8) are within a short distance away but stuck in traffic They finally show up around When I ask the driver what time they left and where they left from he stated that they left around from an hour away but that “it’s New York” and they got stuck in bad traffic with a lousy attitude I’m skeptical that based on my previous lies, that if you leave from an hour away at that you can’t get where you are going pretty fast, even in a major metropolitan area known for bad traffic (lie #8)Upon arriving (with only guys, Ivan and the other guy), Ivan immediately starts counting the steps from the truck to the apartment while the other guy starts unloading the truck (more on that in a second) Upon getting to the apartment he then DEMANDS RUDELY the remaining balance that was issued to us on the front end This then required me to ask my wife where it was Keep in mind that they are already late, we wasted time counting steps, and now I have to find the money order for him all while he is being rudeOnce he has his money order, we go down to the truck where the other mover is unloading SOMEONE ELSES stuff on the sidewalk to get to our stuff If you recall earlier in the review we were told that it would only be our stuff on the truck and it wouldn’t’ be removed Add to the fact that we were on a time crunch, you can’t think we are happy but obviously happy our stuff is arrived Obviously by this point it is after 8am, and since we are running short on time I have to start doing my own pushing and loadingOn the first load, he also makes note to us that we owe extra due to the fact that there are extra steps and once again demands payment on the spot I ask if we can give credit card and he was nice enough to let us use credit card Keep in mind that he didn’t’ charge this amount that we owed until he got in the truck when the job was completed (almost hours later) He’s still being very rude by this point but we were obviously happy to get our stuffFinally, once we are wrapping up, I noticed that Ivan decided to take a smoke break in the truck while myself and the other mover were working! In addition, I also noticed McDonald’s wrappers in the truck Now for someone who left at from an hour away, they had time to stop for breakfast but got stuck in bad traffic? Keep in mind that the dispatcher said they’d be there between 7-even though we pleaded for 7am, but it fell on deaf earsAll in all, I cannot in good faith ever recommend Assurance Van Lines or Budget Moving and Storage for any moving needs We were constantly lied to when we started the move very early and are very organized people It’s a shame that both of these companies are allowed to operate this way

Budget Moving and Storage LLC did a move for me on June 29, During the move they made a hole in two of the wallsThe movers took pictures of each of the walls and said that they would inform the supervisor of these holes They stated that I should also call them to receive instructions on how to make a claim so that the walls could be fixed I send them an email with pictures on July 2, letting them know that I wanted to make a claim and received no response I also called them on July 6, at 8:31am and at 4:44pm, and on July 8, in the morning and at noon with no response Since I received no response, I sent them another email on July 8, at 12:40pm It has been weeks from the day of the move and weeks from the last email with no response from the company Since there was no response I have fixed the wall, but would like to claim a refund of $for the cost of fixing the walls

I hired these movers to move me on Dec1, by phoneMartin told me he had local people working for himLie #The movers called that morning and said they would be there in about an hour and minutes depending on the trafficThey showed up around 10AMMartin gave me a quote over the phone of $654.00, hours, guysI told them to their faces that I didn't have a lot of money and what ever needed extra wrapping to let me know, we would take it in the carIt took them and a half hours to WRAP everything I already told them not tooThey didn't mention anything about the bill at the old address, but when they finally arrived at the new address, they tell me my bill is dollars and some centsOVER dollars in packaging equipment!! WHAT? Tripled? I told them I didn't have that much moneyGot Martin on the phone again to tell him that myself and he stated that the clock is ticking and they want move anything till I pay themWell, I called my daughter who in turn ca

They are the best! They are quick, strong, and most of allskilled! And they were so sweet and patient with my year old daughter who was of course wanting to be up under foot and on the front lines! Hopefully we won't have to move again anytime soon, but if we do, we'll for sure call Budget Moving and Storage again!
