Community Builders Inc has review Mr*** Response and responds accordingly:
We have ordered a custom shower pan measuring 48xand two wall pieces for the Jenkins Residence. The Pan and two wall pieces should be delivered by August 30thOnce the material is delivered, we will call to set up an installation date with The *** HouseholdThank you for your patience

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: We were contacted by a CBI representative on 8/and reassured that the problem would be solved We were advised that the installer would be to our house the next day
The installer came to the house on the morning of 8/ The installer fixed one of the two leaks around the shower He stated that he has never seen a shower leak where ours was leaking and that it could NOT be fixed because if the shower door was any lower then the door would not slide He said, "You must have great water pressure." He once again stated that the larger shower base would have been a custom order and "substantially more money."
The salesperson called on the afternoon of 8/ He understood the sizing problem and stated that they would make it right He stated that he would talk to management and be back in contact with us probably by Monday 8/ We had talked about a shower base of 60" x 48" which would fit the space
As of today, 8/13, we have not heard back from the company
Sincerely,
*** ***

Due to conflicts with the original installer's schedule he was unable to complete the repairs in timely manner. However, as of today, our service technician has completed all the repairs stated above The consumer has signed a completion of satisfaction dated 03/01/
which states she is completely satisfied

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2015/11/30) */
Job has been inspected by both the project manager and the Vice President of the Company on separate occasions and is properly installedWhat the homeowner is requesting cannot be constructed properlyIt will cause severe leaksThe
water pressure has also been inspected and has the same water pressureConsumer may need to get his plumbing lines checked; this was not something that Community Builders had any responsibility for
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 10, 2015/12/01) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
To start with there were never separate inspections, I did not say the shower was improperly installed, it is just inches short of where I ask for it to be and where I was told it would come out toSecondly, Every other shower and faucet in my house and the shower that was removed had and has plenty of pressure, so it is not a plumbing or line problem, it is a specific problem with this "new" showerI will repeat the major issue is that I ask how far the shower would extend out and was told on more than occasion that it would be about inches further than where it isI am not asking for the impossible, I simply suggested a way to extend it out without having to tear out the entire shower pan and install another that is 2" wider, which is what I was told the width was going to be
Final Business Response /* (4000, 12, 2015/12/08) */
All issues have been completely resolved and consumer is satisfiedPlease remove from our record due to this being an invalid complaint

A salesman named *** came to our house from this companyHe had several "sales lines" He told us that a metal roof wood be suited to our house because it was a 1/lighter than compositionHe offered the promo ratesHe would show only a picture of what the "work would be like"We asked him several questions, it was then plain what he was doing1) he under bid his labor/materials cost to give us the "great price"He would show no actual samples of materials at that time and was reluctant to answer any detailed questions about how the company installed roof systems2) When we told him that we understood roofing procedures, he became defensive and was "ready to leave"3) Over the course of more phone calls from ***- he began changing types of materials for our house timesHe claimed that his contractor said the metal was too heavyEach change "cheapened" the quality of materials4) *** has no experience actually roofing, & when asked about the warranty or writing specifics details on the contract- he got mad & blamed us for taking his time and "I'm not making anything off of this job"! 5) His contractor *** even told us *** was lying to us about Materials & Installation time6) after asking to speak to a supervisor, *** called us and rudely said he would tear up the contract

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2014/04/16) */
After receiving her certified letter of cancelation, our Sales Manager spoke with the consumer regarding the price of the roofHer main concern was the price and paymentHe lowered the price, which in turn lowered the monthly payment
Consumer agreed to the new price and paymentAt no time did anyone from our company threaten the consumer with legal recoursePlease remove this complaint from our records

The average single family dwelling in America consists of windowsThis is how we base our "house full of windows" adThe ad does state restrictions applyWe are sorry for any confusion this may have caused

I would like to share the email I sent to Community Builders today that outlines my total dissatisfaction with them Having remodeled or used companies many times over the last years this is the worst company I have dealt with Their abuse included incompetent installers, rude installers, having to reorder windows more than times due to ordering the wrong product, not being able to Measure a window or door accurately and sloppy work One door was inches short, that is just sloppyThe following went to the owner:
Yesterday you completed the second project you did at our house The project was started on July 30th so the completion time was just over months with untold number of reorder, mis-measured, wrong product and incompetence
I was shocked when I discussed with your representatives giving me a discount for the inconvenience of doing business with Community Builders you only reduced it by After being in business myself for years and my husband being in a family owned business all his life, we both would have to and would graciously take responsibility for our own errors and not punish the clientIn total I have paid you over 17,dollars between the two projects for months of abuse
I am most disappointed in Community Builders The first project also took over a year, in fact it took months to complete and you were paid full price for that project Your behavior, performance and quality of work is shameful
For sure we will never do business with you, I am certainly NOT a reference and I will sing your incompetence at every chance provided me I had hoped you would be honorable in the end but was disappointed in you as a company

Iam very disgusted with Community BuildersThey built our sunroom addition years agoIt turned out beautiful at first, then a couple of years ago, we started having problems with the wood warping on the outside & rain leaking in under the top windowWhen I called to see if they would stand behind their work, I was told the warranty date had expiredI then told the lady that I was going to call "Works For You News." The manager called me back immediately, but It took months to get them out here to fix itThe contractor replaced the wood, said he would be back to paint it & never returnedThat was about months agoI have called many times & was told each time they would notify the contractor to get back out here & finish our houseThe wood he replaced stands out like a sore thumb, because it is white & our house is tanWe still are being told the contractor will contact us, but are tired of waiting, and will never use this company again!

They just installed windows in my home, I am extremely satisfied with the workmanship and windowsWell worth the money

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2014/11/05) */
The sales agents at CBI are unaware of the factory that manufacture our windowsThe windows are made to high end custom specifications strictly for CBI, which we call EnviroviewOur windows are nothing like nor have anything to do
with Window World
There is nothing wrong with the consumer's windowsIt is a screen issue that we have been and are still currently dealing with the manufacture onCBI has replaced all the original screens once but the consumer wasn't home and nobody else in the household spoke EnglishConsumer did not know this had been done until our service rep spoke to him Sunday evening which was the same day after he had filed this complaintUnfortunately, there is still an issue with the screens and new screens have already been orderedWe have not ignored this situation and will continue until everything is right for our customer
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2014/11/12) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I apologize I wasn't home when you changed screens.you are right I wasn't home would not have known.because there was no differenceMaybe as they say third times the charmNow as to your salesperson when I called him,his response was not I'm sorry I was unaware that our high end windows are made by aside the windows we joked aboutThat you did not want.it was to the effect your windows were the rolls Royce of alsides nothing like w.w.alsides.still an alside.back to work orders.I called about work orders in on my screens little or no response.I called in about apiece on the jamb a spacer or something.it does not close and leaves a gap for pest to move into and breedI didn't see the necessity for repeated calls after the screens. The window lift bar in my half bath bend in it since installation.I have had condensation on the inside of my windows.the spacer thing is on all dbl hungs windows.13,dollar windowsAlsides.I'm not convinced. The lift bar I was going to show installer.talked about condensation said it was going to happen.plausible.now the aside label on my windows when top name manufacturers make off name products they use that nameNot the same for windows?my windows say alside not enviroview the rolls RoyceSo did I get alsides the window I did not wantOr did I get enviroviews.still a alside.MSR
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2014/11/17) */
The consumer did receive Enviroview windows with the spacer that was demonstrated
The screens that were re-ordered will be on this week's delivery truck and will be replaced immediately
Regarding the other issues with the windows, this is the first we have heard of themWhen we come this week with the screens all the other issues will be addressed and fixed
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2014/11/20) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
My biggest problem with the enviroview/alside windows is priceI paid a $a window for a window I would not have bought had I known its true origins.I believe the salesman knew and instead of being honest and either walking away or saying you have aside all wrong.sold me the enviroview/aside anyway.that's decietfulNow my installed windows that say aside are supposed to be enviroviewMaybe maybe not.But at a $a window happy with purchase is not a possibility

Upon inspection, we did discover that five windows do need to be replaced due to manufacturer's defect.  The manufacturer will provide replacement windows at no cost to the consumer per the manufacturer's warranty.  They will not issue a refund or rebate. We are willing to work with the...

consumer based on the manufacture's structure.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2014/12/09) */
1. TV commercials and print ads clearly state " restrictions apply"!
2. Average single family dwelling has 7 windows!
3.Obviously there are size restrictions!
4. Advertisements were forwarded to Oklahoma Attorney General several years...

ago with no issues!

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2014/10/21) */
Consumer called last year with a leak and it was repaired last year.
There was prior damage to the ceiling before the new roof was installed. We repaired it anyway.
Received a call yesterday that the same place was...

leaking.
Installer is out there today fixing the leak.
Consumer agreed to wait for it to rain before repairing the ceiling again.

A Community Builders salesman came to my home a few years ago when getting bids to replace our windows. I got the same "high-pressure", "buy now", "prices not guaranteed after I leave" tactics other reviewers have mentioned.
Recently, I was out walking a Sat. afternoon with my family, when a couple of poorly-maintained cars stopped in our neighborhood. Several people got out and scattered. Someone approached me, still smoking a cigarette, wearing headphones around his neck, and not dressed professionally. This is how our exchange went:
Salesman: "Hey, man. Are you going back to your house?"
Me: "Yes, why?"
Salesman: "Would you like a quote for windows, roofing, or siding?"
Me: "No thank you, I just had my windows replaced a few years ago. Have a nice day"
Salesman: "Come on, I just want to go home for the day. They'll come for the appointment another time."
Me: "What company are you with?" (Knowing his answer before even asking)
Salesman: "Community Builders"

Community Builders installed a metal roof for us in Feb 2008. The ads said the roof will last a life time. We are experiencing serious leaks in our back bedroom but they refuse to fix it. Claim that our warranty was only for 5 years. The only warranty we received from the company had to do with colorfastness. We would not have purchased a roof from this company if we had been aware it only had a 5 year warranty. We have been unable to find anything in our paperwork regarding a 5 year warranty and the company has not provided us with anything we signed regarding a 5 year warranty. The company initially said they would come out and look at the roof but about a week later they came back with the 5 year warranty comment. We believe they didn't want to honor the warranty because we had to go through a bankruptcy in 2011 after I lost my job in 2010. The only way they would come out was to charge $150 just to look at the roof.

When I was getting bids from various businesses that sold & installed replacement windows, I included Community Builders to consider. When their representative came and gave me his bid they were $10,000 MORE than any of the other companies. So as with the other companies/representatives I thanked him for his time and let him know we have to think about it. The representative wouldn't leave! He kept saying things like "if you buy right now, I'll cut the price $3,000." Then it was "I tell you what, I'll cut it down another $2,000, but you have to buy now. When I leave, I can't guarantee that I'll be able to give you this deal." WHAT? I felt like I was dealing with a car salesman. He was really putting on the pressure for an immediate decision. But why would I say yes?...even with his "special price" they were still way too expensive in comparison to the other three company bids. And now they are advertising on TV that they will give you all the replacement windows you need if you buy their siding. Now anyone that has shopped for replacement windows knows how expensive they are. And this builder says they will give them to you FREE when you buy their (and let them install) their siding. Their siding must be really expensive to cover free windows for a house. Their advertising is never as good a deal as they say it is when it all gets put on paper. Deceptive advertising!?!

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

I would like to echo an earlier comment.

This company refused to quote on my siding without my husband being present for the estimate. I understand that most company's prefer both parties be present - but to require it is ludicrous. I assured them I was capable of making a decision on the siding but it made no difference.
I was astonished and my husband was furious (apparently his input matters to the business, that is why I included it).

On a positive note - the lady on the phone was very courteous while refusing my money. I am writing here because I was informed they had this practice based on a recommendation from the Revdex.com. I found that surprising, and wanted to share.
