Community Tire Pros & Auto Repair Reviews (46)

Review: All of my interactions with Community Tire Pros, have been with [redacted]. The manager of Community Tire Pros on [redacted]. in [redacted].

I brought my 2005 [redacted] Civic, with about 90,000 miles on it, in because the engine was getting hot. I am the original owner and can attest to regular service intervals. We had just had a service center inspect it for a road trip from [redacted] to [redacted]. Even though the system held pressure for my service guys in [redacted], Community Tire Pros said it needed a new radiator.

After Over $500 and the new radiator, the car overheated severely, on a trip to California. They're warrantee Road Assistance wouldn't help us. They considered the car “drivable.” We limped home 200 miles on I-10, AC off, in 114 degree heat, and feeling abandoned!

Brought my car in, they said, “Oh, we forgot to tighten the hose clamp to the thermostat.”

After they fixed their mistake, the car overheated again.

We took it to the [redacted] Dealer. “The engine core is warped from overheating. You need a new engine. Don't let someone try to sell you a head gasket job. It wont fix the problem.”

We asked Community Tire how they intend to fix this? “Bring it in so we can look at it. We wish you hadn’t taken it to the dealer.”

Brought the car in. “Theres a leak in the head gasket. We didn't cause this problem. The owner of Community Tire Pros, doesn’t want to help, but this shop will split the cost 50/50 with you. We think the road side assist failed you!” That is a quote. Our company representatives failed you.

Couple weeks later, a couple hundred bucks in rental car fees, a water pump, timing belt, tune up and almost $900 to Community Tire Pros we get the car back. The engine sounds like crap. “That’s normal. Bring it back in 3500 miles for a valve adjustment.”

350 miles later (yep, drop a zero from the milage they told us) the check engine light comes on. “Bring it in” they say.

Brought the car in. “The number three cylinder is misfiring. Well… let me have a technician look at it. Oh, it needs a valve adjustment.” After only 350 miles? “Oh, Hondas are like that. Bring the car in Sunday night and drop your keys off, we’ll look at it Monday morning when the engine is cold. It only takes a couple of hours to do the work.”

I called at 1:30 pm Monday, to see how the car was. After all, they’ve been working on it for six hours, right? “We haven't looked at it yet. We have to let the engine get ice cold.” But I brought it in last night like you told me to! “Oh, we thought you brought it in this morning.” That after noon a Service Tech brought the car to my home. (A nice touch for another CTP misstep) He said he couldn't believe how bad the car sounded. I told him that’s how the car sounded after they did the head gasket work.

Six weeks later the Car has been smoking and the oil light goes on. I call CTP. Bring it in we’ll take a look at it. We don't think its anything we did. “It’s normal for Hondas to burn up to a quart of oil a month.” (This car has never burned oil. I know, I’m the original owner.) “The smoke is most likely the fuel pump. Drive it for 1000 miles and we’ll check it again.”

1000 miles later we bring it back. “Oh, you are burning oil! Seems you need your Cam Shaft Seals replaced. We’ll send you an estimate by email.” Weeks later haven’t heard from them, and everything I’m reading online states, those should be replaced at the same time as the timing belt.

A couple weeks later I get an estimate for $1800.00 for a Cam Seal replacement and possibly a oil pan seal. Quite frankly I can’t afford to take my car back to Community Tire Pros. Every time they touch my car if it needs something else. From a customers perspective, the cascade of failures occurred when they failed to clamp the thermostat hose after replacing the radiator. Their mistake burned up the engine. Plain and simple. I’m tired of excuses. It’s time to cut my loses.

…and the topper for today, my wife’s experience, in her words, with Community Tire Pros:

Before I departed to an appointment I opened the hood to fill radiator with coolant. I found the radiator cap locked with plastic ties and the cap off the coolant overflow reservoir missing. I was puzzled so I filled the reservoir with coolant.

After my appointment I stopped by Community Tire & asked [redacted] why the radiator cap was locked and the cap on tank was missing.

He said he locked it to keep anyone from “tampering” with it. He didn't know why the cap to the reservoir was missing. He said he had no evidence that the car is over heating. I told him it almost overheated yesterday on my way home from work. He asked how hot did it get. I replied almost to the red mark on the indicator. He said I need to, “leave the car here and he would look at it on Monday.” I replied that John will bring it by. He then said "this car should not be driven if it's overheating." I told him the car has not gotten hot today because I put coolant in this morning. He then said "I have to document that you drove this car when it was overheating." I said, "So your saying that your not going to help us if I drive my car home, even tho it's not getting hot today." He said no I didn't say that. I said I'm driving it home and it can sit there until John speaks to you. I also stated I put coolant in the reservoir, and is that ok, which he replied yes.

I need help and I don’t know where to turn. I’ve been dealing with this company for almost a year. I am at my wits end. This is going to the Revdex.com, their [redacted] page, my [redacted] page, my wife’s [redacted] page, [redacted], and the [redacted].Desired Settlement: Make good on your error and Put my vehicle back in the condition I brought it to you in!

Response:

I met with Mr. [redacted] on May 8 2015. Mr. [redacted] is leaving town for a week on May 8 however on his return he will contact me and arrange to leave his [redacted] with us. I assured Mr. [redacted] that when we returned his [redacted] back to him it would be in the same condition it was in when he first brought it to us on June 6 2014. Mr. [redacted] was in agreement with my offer. [redacted]

Truly great experience! Needed a tire (maybe 4) replaced. When I walked in, was greeted warmly by "J.C." and made to feel comfortable with no "high pressure" sales pitch. Manager "Sissy" took over, put car on lift, showed me the problem with 2 tires, said the other 2 did not need replacement. Replacement was done in short time and Sissy reviewed their extensive "after care" policies at checkout. Later found out two friends of mine have been long-time customers, declaring they get better service at Community than at their dealership. Highest recommendation!

Outstanding customer service; friendly, helpful, and took care of the problem. Reasonably priced. I will definitely recommend them to my friends and family. Thanks to Jason as well, who was extremely helpful. Also, the employees who did the service work; fast, and efficient.

I have used Community Tire Pros & Auto Repair since 2004 for all of my personal and corporate vehicle tires, service and mechanical repairs. As owner of a fence installation company with up to 20 vehicles on the road I rely on Community Tire to keep all aspects of my vehicles in top shape. When service is required their employees realize the importance of getting our vehicles back on the road. Their turn round time has always met or exceeded my expectations.
I have referred Community Tire to several friends and other business owners over the years and the feedback that I have received has always been positive and therefore I will continue to recommend them in the future.
Sincerely,
R[redacted]

If you want to spend $$$$ on auto repairs that you may or may not have actually needed…definitely visit this Community Tire Pros & Auto Repair ([redacted])!!
I dropped my car off at this Community Tire Pros & Auto Repair to have my front brakes serviced and to install a new set of headlights (raxiom chrome projector dual ccfl halos…which I was very excited about).
An hour later I received a call with a laundry list of repairs that needed to be done to my car as determined by their thorough inspection of my car (which I didn't ask for and actually told them no, I didn't need that). I told them that I would take their list under advisement and authorized only the front brakes, rotors and installation of the headlights.
A few hours later I received a call from the shop…"I have bad news" she said. While my car was in their shop, coincidently a seal on the rack and pinion burst (#1 on their laundry list from the thorough inspection of my car), they didn’t feel it was safe for me to drive my car, and they would loan me their shop car for the weekend and make the repairs to my car on Monday at a total cost of $1200.00! Now, I may be a girl…but I know when something is wrong with my car. I knew I needed front brakes…but there was no leak prior to pulling into that shop…not even a drip…as evidenced by my clean garage floor!
I cannot definitively say how or why this happened to my car…but I now needed a new rack and pinion…the repairs needed to be done…but they would not be done by Community Tire Pros & Auto Repair…I had my car towed from this garage to my former garage.
The situation remains suspicious in my mind and the service and integrity of this shop raises red flags…and all I was doing was looking for an honest, reputable, convenient garage to become my home. Thanks, but no thanks Community Tire Pros & Auto Repair!

I TOOK MY 94 DODGE TO THE LOCATION BY METRO CENTER. THE GUYS WERE ALL VERY PROFESSIONAL AND FRIENDLY. MY TRUCK WAS OLD AND TIRED. THEY WENT THROUGH AND SPENT A FEW HOURS ON DIAGNOSING THE ISSUES I HAD AND VERY HONEST WITH ME SAID IT ISN'T WORTH THE MONEY TO FIX. THEY DIDN'T CHARGE ME ANYTHING AND NORMALLY THERE IS A FEW FOR DIAGNOSTICS. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE GUYS.
