Customer purchased a vehicle service contract from our company on 11/15/ The day after customer purchased he called to let us know that he had a diagnostic appointment at his dealer in 30-days (from 11/16/16) Customer called our office on 2/8/stating that he was upset that his
repairs weren't covered We reached out to our claims department and were told that claim was filed for: #ignition coil, tire sensor, and smoke test to determine emissions leak Claim was denied because the repairs or things being done are not covered items under his policyI have been calling customer since 2/and have left him messages but received no response I have been trying to reach customer to go over claim denial and answer any other questions that he might have. Our claims department will not pay for items that his contract does not cover If customer is not satisfied with coverage, he can cancel and we provide him a full refund of the $he has paid. I can be reached by phone @ *** *** *** Thank you,*** ***

Consumer Protection Services sold this policy on 10/28/15 but is not the contract administrator.  Warrantech is the claims administrator that is responsible for adjudicating claims.  There was a claim paid for the contract on 1/4/16 to [redacted] Chevrolet in the amount of $699.60....

The most recent transmission claim was denied for leaking seals and gaskets.  Below is the information I obtained from Warrantech regarding the denial.  Warrantech can be contracted at [redacted].From Warrantech (Claims Administrator):The  claim reported by [redacted] Chevrolet who reports a customer complaint “Vehicle will not exceed 40 mph”. The repair facility reported transmission cooler lines are leaking and are requesting to replace the cooler lines and the transmission assembly.  We informed the contract holder that the claim is denied as the long term leak indicates failure due to low fluid level. VSC exclusions state:This CONTRACT does not provide Coverage or Benefits for Your Vehicle when the Breakdown or condition existed prior to the commencement of this Contract or for any part not specifically listed in the Schedule of Coverage, including, but not limited to:For any Breakdown caused by overheating (regardless of the cause), freezing, inadequate coolant, lubricants or fluids, or any Breakdown to a listed part resulting from contamination of fluids, rust, corrosion, foreign material, sludge or carbon deposits and coolant intermix.Leaking gaskets or seals.During the discussion with the contract holder he stated that he has been adding 1 to 2 quarts of transmission fluid every time he changed the engine oil which supports the long term leaks and operation of the vehicle resulting in damage. We offered the customer the opportunity for second inspection after he authorizes the teardown if he believes failure is not due to run low. The contract holder refused this offer.

Ms. [redacted] has been removed from all lists.  I show that she was mailed on 1/10/17 and placed two calls to our office this morning.  We did not outbound dial her but did send mail.  She will not receive any further communications from our company. Thank you,[redacted]...

Mr. [redacted], I personally apologize for the mail that was sent to your father-in-law. As a previous customer we were trying to...

contact your father in law about a new policy. I have personally taken the steps to remove his name from our previous customer file. Again I apologize about the misunderstanding.

I have spoken to Mr. [redacted] and let him know that his refund check is being mailed today.  His policy was rejected by the claims administrator because vehicle is considered and emergency vehicle due to its lights and markings.  He is receiving a full refund of $3357.00 since his vehicle is...

ineligible for coverage. Thank you,[redacted]Customer Care Manager
