Copyright Associates Reviews (22)

Review: On May 29, 2013, I filed online with this company for a copyright application for my material "Spreadsheet for Steps & Chords" (activity #[redacted]). This was promised within 4-12 months of filing my material with the US Copyright Office and the right to produce or publish my work. According to the email I received from Copyright Associates, my copyright application was filed with the U.S. Copyright Office in Washington, D.C. and was issued case # [redacted]. On this same date, May 31, 2013, my bank account recorded payment of $124, paid to Copyright Associates.

I tried several times to get an update on status with no success, so I decided to call and see if it had been mailed to me.

On April 17, 2014, I called the U.S. Copyright Office and spoke with Representative. She stated my application had been filed, but the fees for the certificate had not been paid. (This was supposed to be paid by Copyright Associates from the fee of $124, their charge to me.) Therefore they could not issue my Certificate of Registration. Thus, I have not received what I paid for and cannot produce or publish my work with copyright's.

I was promised this in the email from CopyrightAssociates and 100% satisfaction from their website.Desired Settlement: I want what I paid for: my Certificate of Registration for my material Spreadsheet for Steps & Chords. BTW the fee at that time was only $35 from U.S. Copyright Office, but went up on May, 2014. I paid Copyright Associates $124, plus a transfer fee of $3.72.

Review: Since June 30, I have been trying to contact Copyright Associates concerning a requested refund for a copyright application that was terminated by me before completion. I have sent six emails on their two posted communication systems, and one to their "support" department (because I had no other address). I have also sent two letters, the second one registered with the USPS, and have just been informed that it was undeliverable due to the addressee moving and not leaving a forwarding address. I note that you have posted a warning for undeliverable mail to this company on your website. Their website is still up and apparently active. Because of that, I indicated on your checklist that the business is not closed, but I do not know whether that is true. The copyright application in their system that was sent to me is [redacted]. I am seeking a refund of my $120, in conformance with their stated refund policy.Desired Settlement: I seek a refund of my $120, which was paid through their [redacted] account (I do not have a [redacted] account). The check should come to [redacted], NC, [redacted].
