Dear **. [redacted]:

On December 9, 2013,1 sent you correspondence wherein I indicated that we would reinvestigate the disputed items set forth in the complaint that **. [redacted] filed with your office. We have completed our reinvestigation.

Please note that CoreLogic Saferent, LLC (“Saferent”) is a consumer reporting agency governed by the applicable provisions of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Saferent maintains public landlord-tenant and criminal court records (the “Saferent Public Record Information”), which it provides to its clients who are typically property owners and landlords in the multi-family housing industry for the purposes of determining housing eligibility of an applicant. Records are returned based upon certain matching criteria; however, due to the nature of public records, the records returned may or may not relate to the applicant. In addition, Saferent is a reseller of the credit information that it receives from the three national consumer reporting agencies (Equifax, Experian, TransUnion, collectively, the “NCRAs”)-Saferent does not maintain a database of the NCRA’s credit information to produce new consumer

reports.

Our records indicate that on or about December 13, 2013, we mailed **. [redacted] the results of our reinvestigation and the results we received from the applicable NCRAs in connection with her dispute. With regard to the Saferent Public Record Information that we maintain on **. [redacted], we recorded the current status of the disputed information, or deleted the information, as applicable.

If you have any questions, please contact us at the address and telephone number set forth above.

Sincerely,

Review: I have been denied by two different apartment communities due there misinformation. They claim there is a judgement against me, but according to all three credit bureaus, there is no judgement. I have researched this company online and I've come to realize that this is not an isolated incident. Many other people have also complained about them as well.Desired Settlement: I would like a letter saying that this so-called judgement has been removed from their records.

Review: I submitted an application for an apartment at [redacted] managed by [redacted], on Monday, August 19, 2013. After being told that my credit had cleared and I was approved for the minimum deposit contingent on my background check coming back clean, I was denied. The application has been denied based upon criminal history information that was provided by CoreLogic SafeRent. The information they provided about me was not only incorrect, it is defamatory, slanderous, and quite humiliating. CoreLogic SafeRent is stating I am a convicted felon of numerous counts of theft and that I am currently on felony supervision. This is false and has caused me to be denied housing. My criminal background cleared for me to obtain a position with a major corporation doing IT and networking for Federal Services. I am quite sure that it is clear enough for me to rent an apartment.Desired Settlement: I would like a letter of apology from SafeRent. I would like their records updated immediately to clear the false information. I would like a refund of the $50 application that I paid for this false information, and I would like a letter sent to [redacted] and [redacted] stating their information was erroneous.

Review: ON 02/2012 [redacted] / (FCO) [redacted] HAS SETTLED FOR ALL MONIES OWED AND BALANCES HAS BEEN PAID AND CLOSED. CORELOGIC/SAFERENT IS REPORTING TO PROPERTIES MANAGEMENT THAT I STILL HAVE OUTSTANDING DEBTS TO THE PRIOR LANDLORD. DESPITE THE FACT THAT I HAVE LEGAL DOCUMENTS VERIFYING THAT I OWE NO MONIES TO THE COURTS OR THE LANDLORD. ALSO A LETTER FROM TENET/LANDLORD. STATING THAT THE INFORMATION SAFTERENT IS REPORTING SHOULD NOT BE USED IN RENTAL EVALUATING. BECAUSE THE CASES WERE NEVER IN CIVIL COURTS AND THE COURTS RECORDS EXPIRE AFTER 60 DAYS AND IS NOT REPORTED TO THE THREE CREDITS AGENCIES. THIS INFORMATION THAT THEY ARE GETTING FROM INACCURATE PUBLIC RECORDS, THAT ARE NOT UP TO DATE HAS BEEN PREVENTING ME FORM BEING APPROVED FOR APARTMENT RENTALS OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS. SAFE RENT CLAIMS THEY UNDERSTAND HOWEVER ARE NOT WILLING TO REMOVE OR UPDATE, OR VERIFY THE ACCURACY OF THE INFORMATION THEY ARE REPORTING.Desired Settlement: I AM REQUEST PER THE COURTS THIS INFORMATION BE REMOVED AND NO LONGER USED AGAINST ME, DUE TO IT HAS CAUSED ME TO BE (BLACK LISTED) AGAINST GETTING ANY RENTALS, AND DESPITE ME HAVING FAIR CREDIT, WILL NOT RENT TO ME... I HAVE LOST OVER $200 IN APPLICATION FEES, IN ADDITION TO THE DAMAGE IT HAS CAUSED TO MY THREE CREDITS REPORTS BECAUSE OF THE VARIOUS INQUIRES FORM CORELOGIC/SAFTRENT.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

Corelogic/SafeRent has replied with a supplemental report

that reflects the results of the re-investigation. This information has been changed that I don’t owe any monies to

any apartments or management companies. However instead they are showing and

providing detailed mentioning of several judgments that has been dismissed and

per the district court of Maryland, dose not report these judgments to the

credit bureaus because they are not money judgments and they expire after sixty (60) days.

(MDRP (d (ii). Expired judgments should not appear on

credit reports pursuant to [redacted] (A)(2).

I have requested for this information be removed form view

or providing to apartment leasing managements companies, due to despite not

owing any monies still show as equal to being negative/still

pending/unsettle/not paid/still owing.

This information still contributes to negative scoring when applying for

rental properties.

I am still requesting Corelogic/SafeRent to remove this

information from their records and show in the same manner as the three

reporting agencies they relies upon for this information as simply paid and no

other details of individual reports of itemized monies that was supposedly

owed. Experian, Trans Union, Equifax

shows accurate information regarding my prior rental history and

Corelogic/SafeRent should reflect the same.

I have sent a copy of the letter from the courts and advised

per the District Court of Maryland will not provided any additional information

due to information expires after 60 days and should be removed and not used.

The letter sent to Corelogic/SafeRent is per [redacted]/Chief Judge (Courts

of Appeal Building Annapolis, Maryland 21401.

September 27, 2013

Dear **. [redacted]:

Thank you for your letter dated September 11, 2013 regarding the follow-up complaint filed with your office by the above-named consumer.

Our records indicate that on or about September 4, 2013, we received a request directly from **. [redacted] wherein she disputed certain items of information that were appearing in her SafeRent consumer report. On or about September 12, 2013, we mailed the results of our reinvestigation to **. [redacted].

Also on September 12th, **. [redacted] telephonically contacted our Customer Service Department requesting the status of our reinvestigation. We told her that we had just mailed the results of our reinvestigation to her; we also discussed the results with her. In addition, we informed her that if our reinvestigation did not resolve her dispute, she could file a brief statement setting forth the nature of her dispute (“statement of dispute”), and that in any subsequent SafeRent consumer reports that we prepared on her that contained the information in question, we would note that the items were disputed by her and include her statement of dispute in such reports.

If you have any questions, please contact us at the address and telephone number set forth above.

Sincerely,

Review: CoreLogic has erroneous information in their system, and they say it can take up to a month to fix it. I have been denied housing because of this incorrect information, and they refuse to expedite the process of correcting the information. Their records indicate that I have a felony on my record, but that was changed to a misdemeanor 4/11/2011. I immediately faxed them paperwork proving that it is a misdemeanor, and they still refuse to expedite the process. Considering this is a PUBLIC record that can be viewed for FREE at a GOVERNMENT website and it states this is a misdemeanor, I do not understand why it takes so long to process. Their red tape should not prevent me from obtaining housing.

Defamation of character at its finest.Desired Settlement: I want my information immediately changed in their system. I may seek damages in a defamation lawsuit as this is preventing me from obtaining housing.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:I should not have to wait a week for this company to fix the errors in their system. They submitted fraudulent information in regards to my background, and I immediately faxed them the correct information. A quick, free public search of court house records proves that their information is inaccurate, so I do not understand why their investigation took so long. Their red tape is of no concern to me when I am trying to move and I am being denied because this company has supplied false information in regards to my background.

Review: CrimCheck America, a division of CoreLogic SafeRent, provided inaccurate information to a potential employer which resulted in me not receiving the job for which I had applied. I have obtained my own certified criminal background check only to find that the information provided by the above company was completely FALSE!

I demand that this information be deleted from my background check and that the above company TRAIN the individuals who gather these records on how to read a background check. What appears to be an issue at first, may simply be listed in ERROR. If you bothered to read the entire background check from the state of NORTH CAROLINA you would see that each line lists the charge and the outcome.

In this particular case, an unfounded accusation was made and then dismissed because there was no proof whatsoever and the entire claim was ridiculous, these are NOT CRIMINAL CHARGES. It means the judge dismissed the case because there was no validity to the charges. In other words...it NEVER HAPPENED! By reporting that I was charged with these crimes is slanderous and a complete falsehood. I have NEVER been charged with any crime!

Your report indicated that I had been charged with 2 or 3 acts of trespassing and assault. This could not be further from the truth! You need to obtain a certified copy from the county in which this happened and look at the report and you will find that I am correct. The ONLY charges on my "criminal" report include 3 speeding tickets during the years 1999 - 2000.

I demand that you correct this information, send an updated record to the potential employer acknowledging that the first response did not include correct information, an apology letter to my self, and better training for your employees who handle this delicate information.Desired Settlement: Correct the information in your database, contact the potential employer to correct the information you provided, provide me with a copy of the corrected information and an apology, and reimburse me for my costs, $50 in certified background check costs, to correct your error.
