“Revdex.com” (Revdex.com). Dissemination, distribution, copying or disclosure of this information to a third party in any form including but not limited to publishing consumer information on the internet is strictly prohibited. October 14, 2016 Revdex.com Case ID: [redacted] Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the complaint filed by [redacted] (“Ms. [redacted]”) on October 11, 2016. Ms. [redacted]’s complaint states that she had a delinquent cell phone bill, paid directly to our client over a year ago and that Cornerstone placed a “finders fee” on the account. This account balance is showing as unpaid on her credit and she request it be removed. The account in question was referred to Cornerstone Credit Services, (“Cornerstone”) on July 16, 2013 with a principle balance owing of $342.08. Interest, not a “finders fee”, began accruing on the account as of the date it was referred to collection. The interest stopped accruing when the principle payment was reported to Cornerstone. Generally, the interest accrued on accounts listed to collections remains owing, however there were extenuating circumstances with this account. Cornerstone will, out of courtesy, waive the outstanding interest. In summary, Cornerstone will waive the accrued interest and will report the account to the credit bureau as paid in full. In closing, if Ms. [redacted] should have any further questions regarding her account or this response, she can contact me directly at 907-770-8120, or toll-free at 1-877-375-8100. July 26, 2016

Revdex.com Case ID: [redacted] [redacted]

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the complaint filed by [redacted] (“Mr. [redacted]”) on July 19, 2016.

Mr. [redacted] complaint states that he had a verbal agreement with Cornerstone Credit Services, (“Cornerstone”) that everything would be removed from his credit report when it was paid in full and that his desired settlement to this complaint would be to have the account removed.

It should be noted that during every verbal conversation our collection staff has with a consumer or third party, we advise them that calls may be monitored and or recorded.  This feature was helpful in determining the course of our response.

The account referenced in the complaint was listed to our office on February 27, 2015 and was paid by Mr. [redacted] mother [redacted] on February 29, 2016, more than a year after it was originally listed.  [redacted] had responded to a reminder letter Cornerstone had sent addressed to Mr. [redacted].  Unfortunately when [redacted] called our office, seeing she was not listed as a point of contact for Mr. [redacted], the collection representative could not disclose any information to her about the unpaid accounts listed on the letter she had opened.  For the convenience of the consumer, our payment website is also listed on the letter.  Due to not being able to assist [redacted] any further, [redacted] ended the call with us and ended up paying the accounts through the website listed on the letter.  “I just want to make the payment, he (Nathaniel) is at work and you’ll be closed before he gets off work”.

On July 19, 2016 Mr. [redacted] contacted our office with questions regarding the account on his credit.  “I paid off a
balance with you guys awhile ago and was just seeing if there is any way to have it removed from my report as well”.  After being advised that paid in full accounts are reported to the credit bureau as paid, Mr. [redacted] responded “why are there other companies that remove items from credit reporting after they are paid?”  The answer is simple.  Cornerstone like other data furnishers are to abide by their credit bureau agreement which states that paid in full accounts should be reported as “paid in full” and that our company does not take part in the process known as credit bartering.  This is considered a bad practice and is prohibited.

After speaking with the collection representative and her supervisor, Mr. [redacted] ended the call.

In summary, Cornerstone believes that the communication, both with Mr. [redacted] and his mother [redacted] was professional, clear and under no circumstance misleading.

Cornerstone trusts this response answers any questions your office has regarding Mr. [redacted] complaint.  If you have any other questions, or require any other information, please contact the undersigned.

In closing, if Mr. [redacted] should have any further questions regarding his account or this response, he can contact me directly at 907-770-8120, or toll-free at 1-877-375-8100.

Sincerely,

Jeremy R[redacted]
