Absolute TRASH company
This company bought the building I live in and ever since it has been a living hell. There are alot of drunks and junkies that live here and they are allowed to do whatever they want. Everyday coming in from work you have to walk past belligerent and aggressive drunks on the front porch. I have complained over 20 times to the owners about these people and their activities and I've literally been called a liar everytime and then accused of the things I've complained about...this company is CRIMINAL. You have ZERO rights in their eyes and are only đź’° money to them. Its so disheartening and not right.

This company purchased a building I was living in and immediately tried evicting all of us. Mind you this building was 14 apartments with ALL disabled tenants... they agreed to allow me to stay though in exchange for raising my rent $200 more than I was paying. Then they started gutting out the newly empty apartments and next thing I know I have bed bugs and cockroaches and carpenter ants and huge rats.. they did get an exterminator in but since the whole building was not treated the problem only gets worse... and so naturally I was on the phone with them weekly crying about how I shouldn't have to live like this... then one day they cut a pipe in the apartment above mine and the next I knew I had water pouring from literally everywhere in the ceiling in my livingroom.. I had a giant panic attack and called screaming...next thing I know they are telling me they instead want me to still leave but I could take my time...and they said they would pay me 2000 upon my move out.. so I started looking at apartments and trying to apply for low income housing and then they decided to get the roof done while it was pouring and they flooded my bedroom... I broke inside after that... I went to a lawyer and in the end they paid me 3000 to move but I had to agree to no further claims because I had a huge huge case against them.

Our house was sold from our eccentrically kind landlord to Cougar Capital/ New England Property Rentals earlier in Fall 2018. Cougar Capital/ New England Property Rentals tried to have us sign away our tenant rights. When we didn’t, they sent a constable to deliver a 30-Day Vacate Notice.
In consultation with a lawyer who volunteered his time and knowledge and with ***, we learned what they were trying to do was illegal. Only the court can kick us out.
One of the new landlords requested to speak with us on a human level without the presence of lawyers to diffuse the situation. We requested to not have any of us responsible for the remaining rent should any of us move out and that our tenancy be extended to a time that is easier to find housing in Boston. The landlord agreed this sounded reasonable and even offered to reach out to his networks to help us find housing. He said he would get back to us after he spoke with the other landlord who co- owns the property development & management company. In good faith, we paid the increased rent they requested.
I recently asked them for an update on the renovation permitting schedule and move out timeline and received no response. However, when one of us found housing, we received the first email that states the remaining housemates are responsible for the rent of the entire unit and a follow up email that says that they will give us a “courtesy” discount for January, but they expect us to find another housemate or be respiratory for the full unit’s rent in February. Also the woman representing Cougar Capital/ New England Property Rentals felt the need to assert that “I am still in charge and you still need to work with me...”
During the last month as tenants, Cougar Capital/ New England Property Rentals sent people to "inspect" the house twice and wanted to come additional 3 times-- seems excessive, no? This violated our privacy and would have made it inconvenient to coordinate letting their people into the building since their maintenance people apparently didn't have the keys to our house. I was home during one of the "inspections" and it really was just a guise for them to discuss and accelerate renovation plans.
