Poor/Unreliable Service
The service provided by County Waste of Virginia is unreliable and the personnel is unresponsive to phone calls and emails! My pick-up day is Thursday and has on too many occasions no weather related situations has been delayed until Saturday! Anyone know of a good reliable company for trash collection? I'm looking for one!

An absolutely furious customer
Were I able to reach anyone in your "Customer Service" Office I might not have had to air your total lack of such publicly.
In June my trash was missed twice. I was told, after being on hold for 2 hours and finally speaking to a "supervisor" that I would not be billed for June. I was billed for June.
Two weeks ago my trash was again not picked up. I called and was kept on hold for 2.15 hours. When the agent answered and I told her I'd been holding that long she told me, as if it was an every day occurrence, that there have been people on hold for 6 hours so what was the big deal. I asked to speak to a supervisor. No one available - will call you on Monday. I have yet to receive a call and that was a week ago. Again my trash was not picked up as scheduled for Thursday last week. It still hasn't been picked up. Again I called and again I was on hold for 40 minutes. Promptly at 4:30 the music just ended; no announcement - just no longer on hold. That now makes 4 times my trash has not been picked up since June. Worst of all is the time I expended calling and being placed on Hold. The supervisor I spoke to in June gave me what she said was her "direct line" in the event I needed to call again. It is not her direct line. Not only was I on hold for residential service, I was also on hold to establish a new account and also for billing. I understand from the service rep I spoke to after my call mid August that you "are helping out other states" - it might be a good thing if you look after your own state's customers before attempting to help out another as you are doing a terrible job in terms of customer service all round. I think our entire development is sick of seeing trash cans overflowing for days in our neighborhood waiting for your very nice but route untrained trashmen to find us, days late. You may think you have a monopoly, but you don't. I am currently on auto-pay; I intend to remove your ability to collect for the service you are not delivering. Perhaps if you don't get paid someone from your business will call me - and I may or may not keep them on hold for hours in order to get my money. I await a response from you.

The garbage hauler broke the provided container during a pickup. I asked that my bucket be replaced. They seemed agreeable and said it was not a problem, and that on the next scheduled day they would swap the bucket. The hauler took a before and after picture to prove they delivered the bucket, it was the same picture of a full can. I called several time asking where my container was, and they kept telling me it was delivered and must have been stolen until I asked them to send me the picture. Once they realized they were in the wrong they told me they would not be able to deliver a new bucket until the following day. I told them that was unacceptable and asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor, Cindy, was very rude, condescending and kept repeating that it was not her problem and that operations would have to handle it. I asked to speak to her manager and she refused. She refused to let me speak to anyone else and hung up on me when I questioned her as to why. I never cursed, raised my voice, or was disrespectful. I see they have an F rating with the Revdex.com, and I fully understand why. Absolutely horrible customer service, they should be ashamed on themselves.

Once again our trash and recycling was not picked up. I called and was told it was marked as "picked up" by the driver and that there would be a 24.00 fee to come out to pick it up. Or I could wait til next week and put out extra bags. So I either get to pay more money for the service I've already paid for or hand onto my garbage for another week. This is not the first time this has happened. They do not stand behind their service and have no problem taking money and not providing a service. That's usually called theft. A few months back, I had to call numerous times to get our trash picked up, go over the rather simple instructions with several people over the course of 4 days, and then wait each day because "the driver will be out today". We eventually got a Tues pick up done on that Saturday. Don't charge people for a service you don't intend to provide.

We have received the complaint and have forwarded it our Area Manager for review. We will have a response/resolution within two business days.

Since 2018 our bill has increased WITHOUT WARNING $10.00!! Ridiculous, gas prices have relatively stayed the same, cans are the same size. Nothing has really changed. Their excuse is the following that I have copied and pasted from a message that they sent me through Facebook messenger. "In 2018 we were forced to charge for this service to offset the change in China's Recycling requirements. In order to keep services at the current level that we offer there was a need to increase price due to the cost associated with the transporting of recyclable materials."
I call bt on this excuse, there is a recycling plant right in the same state that their corporate office is in.

We tried to cancel service. They said we are under contract til Nov 2019. We waited patiently for 9 months. We contacted them no less then 4 times by phone starting in October of 2019. Rebeccah from customer service said shed take care of it. They auto renewed us for 3 more years. They have a po box so impossible to send registered mail. They have no e mail address on invoices. They informed us after Nov 9th it had to be by registered mail to cancel.!! They auto renewed us for 3 years. Its so deceptive and they outright lied to our faces. Their reviews on google reflect their dishonesty. They're horrendous. This company works through lies and deception. Please take action.

We have the contract, that is signed and dated and clearly states it is a renewable contract. The customer has sent us messages threatening to smear our company by saying “I am a pr internet marketing expert and your company is my new project”. Also stating “I’m trying to tell you I am on a mission. Writing attorney general/Luzerne county better biz. I want your dumpster off my property. You’re being billed $10 a day storage as of Nov, 9th’. *** has also stated in those messages “So it begins.. I will never stop until I get justice , never!”*** has written 2 reviews on our *** pages that goes against the rules of reviews according to the guidelines, One review even if a company has several locations.My biggest issue, is not being able to state any of this information in this response. We clearly want our side to be complete but we also want to make sure we follow the guidelines. I have attached his contract and the *** messages the *** has posted. This company is completely incompetent, if there is an inch of snow they refused to go out and do their job collect the garbage and bring it back to the facility. As a father of many kids, not only is it a health risk to have all of this garbage collect in the garage, but I even have them asking me “ Daddy when are they going to get the garbage isn’t that their job?”, This is absolute bonkers, not in my lifetime but I think these guys have it so good, I know when I go to work I have to punch in and do my job I guess they get paid to not do their’s, do yourself a favor and keep their phone number out of your phone because they are useless!!!!

We were able to pull up your account and see that you were given a credit for the week that you were missed and notes are in for our drivers to take all extra you may have this week as we resume our regular schedule. The garbage collector has not picked up my garbage since May of 2019. They still bill me monthly for service and an added fuel surcharge. I was a month behind and paid up til then. But they still refused to pickup trash, nor did they take the dumpster.They will not send me a copy of service contract that I supposedly violated. I heard several other people tell me the same thing.

We apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused. We reviewed your account and see that the service agreement was signed by you on January 15, 2016. The agreement spells out our payment terms that you agreed to with your signature on the agreement. Your account also shows that we suspended your account after 2 1/2 months without receiving a payment. Phone calls were made and dated to each time we called and left messages, to which we did not receive a response. On October 19th, 2019, the dumpster was removed and at this point all we are asking is to pay for the services provided. COUNTY WASTE and Customer Service do not go hand in hand. I was told the day after labor day that our waste would be picked up after I make a payment of $56. They never came! When called back and questioned I was basically told by Service Rep that I was a liar when I told her the rep I spoke to ensured me that it would be picked up. Unable to help me I requested to speak to a Manager. I was continually placed on hold and then at 5:03pm was told their offices were going to close and the Manager would have to contact me today. I was also informed my RECORDED CONVERSATION with the first rep would have to be reviewed to determine whether or not I'd LIED about whether or not he said my garbage would be picked up. I insisted on being transferred to a Manager because they NEVER call you back. Instead I was told again by Customer Service to hold and was sent to a voicemail because it was after business hours. COUNTY WASTE is the WORST! WARNING! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM

After a late payment was made, our customer service representative thought we could get your trashed serviced. Because of the holiday and the delay everyone in your area was on, our crews were working diligently to get all areas serviced. During that week, we were receiving a high number of calls due to the delay and that is why your call went to our managers voice mail. County Waste is unreliable and dishonest, resulting in my husband and me picking up the mess bears make of our trash several times per year. They don’t show up on consistent days or times. Often times they don’t show up at all! When we call, the kind customer service rep says that they will be by to pick it up “today”. Three days later after calling daily, I’m still picking up trash that the bears dragged all over the place. I double ratchet strap the trash cans, but the bears pry a corner open and manage to get bags out! My neighbors and I are beyond frustrated and disappointed. All we want is at minimal, a given day that they will be here for the trash! I don’t think that is too much to ask!!

A County Waste truck driver damaged the side of my car. He stopped to tell me but the manager told him to continue the route and he would come by. The Division Manager came by, took pictures, and told me the following:
1) County Waste doesn't file claims like this with their insurance, they pay out of pocket for repairs
2) They would send a licensed appraiser to take a look at the damages either that evening or on Friday.
3) He told me to go by a few repair shops and get estimates and they would pay for the damages to repair my vehicle.
4) Rental car insurance would be reimbursed after I paid for the rental. I can send the receipt afterward.

This has been a great inconvenience to me. Their appraiser didn't come by until several days after the incidence. They estimate the damages to be more than the value of the car so they want to total the car. They only want to give me money for the value of the car, not to restore it to its original condition prior to the accident. This is not what the Division Manager told me. I told him I want to keep my car, have put work into it and I want my car fixed! He told me they would cut me a check for the repairs and I could also get reimbursed for my car rental. The manager told me another driver hit a car about a week before mine was hit which makes means this is a regular occurrence. County Waste is damaging cars and not owning up to their responsibility as I was told by the division manager. If a reporter put this on the air or contacts County Waste for me, they might be willing to own up to their responsibilities and repair cars back to its original condition. I want other homeowners to be careful where they park their cars because County Waste is out there damaging cars!

As soon as this event occurred, we promptly notified ***, accepted liability andadvised we would send Property Damage Appraisers out to determine repair cost.Property Damage Appraisers determined the vehicle was a total loss with a value of$4,841.24. Offer was made within 7 days of the event.*** rejected the offer, as he wanted us to pay $8,000, any hidden damage &rental during the repair. It was explained numerous times, he was only entitled to repaircost up to the value of the vehicle. If he wanted to repair the vehicle, anything over theactual cash value and rental during the repair would be his cost. There was never adisagreement about the value, he just wanted repair cost. *** has accepted the offer and signed a release of claims. Payment has beensent with a copy of the executed release.

I am rejecting this response because:
Once again they are not being truthful. I sent them two estimates and the least expensive one was for $7059.08. I repeatedly asked for an amount higher than their offer of $4841.24, even asked for $6200 which is a few hundred dollars more than their repair estimate of $5943.06 was from their own appraiser. I asked for a little amount above that for rental reimbursement. The division manager said he would pay for repairs and rental reimbursement. I was not getting anywhere and they would not respond to the Revdex.com request nor other requests. I made the decision that we need to get some amount from County Waste instead of $0.00 so the release of claims form was signed by me on August 30th. I had no other choice but to accept their offer after several months of refusing my requests. This company cannot be trusted as their Division Manager told me they would pay for my repairs and rental reimbursement. $4841.24 is much less than the cost of repairs with no rental reimbursement.

County Waste is not disputing the cost of the repair. We had a licensed independent appraiser advise that the cost of the repairs exceeded the value. So we paid him for the value of the damaged property. That is what he is legally entitled to. If we paid him the amount he was seeking that would have been an unjustly enriched. If *** would like to discuss this further, we ask that he call our corporate office and speak with our claims department.

We are in receipt of your letter dated July 9. 2019. After being alerted to this event. wepromptly investigated the claim and accepted liability. *** advised that she wantedto wait till the spring to address the repair cost. We followed up with her in April 2019. butshe wanted to wait until it warmed up more.

On May 9. 2019. we received a very high estimate from her in the amount of $5.7()().()(). Anindependent licensed appraiser was dispatched who determined the repair cost was$1915.05. On May 23. an offer was made with a release of claims. If anything was missed,it was explained to have their contractor work directly with the appraiser, for possiblesupplement and then sign the release of claims. We received the signed release dated July11, 2019. Payment has been sent with a copy of the executed release.lf you need anything further. please let me know. Thank you for your time and attention.

This is the worst company I've ever dealt with! They fail to pick up the trash at least once per month. I'm always on the phone calling to find out IF they are going to show up - they have nothing but poor excuses, (i.e. driver got lost, truck broke down, driver went home sick, tourists are here so not enough time for drivers to service regular customers, and today's excuse...new driver had no idea he had to do pick ups on our road).
3 price increases in 2.5 years and the worst service imaginable! And they NEVER make any accommodation on your bill. They do nothing but lie to the customers.
Please, will someone set up a regulatory state department to oversee them or better yet, get a state run trash pick up in place so County Waste goes bankrupt, they ***!!!!!!

I got stuck with *** a few years ago when my old garbage company, *** sold out to them. I was willing to ride out the contract but then switch companies. In 2017 I called to see how I went about not redoing my 3 year contract and I was told by a manager to call back in July of 2018 and they would help me, as that was when my contract was up. I called back the first week of July to find out my contract renewed because I did not submit in writing and send certified, a letter of cancellation (unfortunately this is on the back of my contract but I followed the directions the manager gave me- who was fired by the time I called back). So I am stuck with this company until 2021 unless I pay at least $600 to get out of my contract. My issue is (and has been ongoing and noted SEVERAL times in their system), they tip my dumpster at 3 am- right next to my house. We own a commercial/residential property, so I live here and have close neighbors and this wakes us all up every other Friday. They claim they will stop, they will claim to bring me back a plastic dumpster (its quieter), but they haven't resolved anything and don't return my phone calls.

I’m a widow who they offered a 3 month free trash deal. I thought wow this is great. Now my daughter moved in because I couldn’t afford the taxes on my house. She went with a different easy company. Now I’m called them in January 2019 to cancel told them to please pick up there can. They told me I had to give them 60 day notice which was not told to me back in December of 2016. The want me to send in a certified letter stating I want to cancel my name address phone number and signature and a 44.00 payment to cancel this. I have to pay for a certified letter come on. Is this the president. I can afford this high way robbery worst service I ever had. Never go with this company. Callkng the Revdex.com

Just moved into stroudsburg PA area and already the bs. Signed up with County waste and they have missed our trash two days in a row. This is the first week and I'll be back next week to give my final review. So far service sucks.

If given the ability to give this company 0 stars I would. This company is practicing unfair trade practice to their customers and running them out of their money offering no remorse for their underhanded ways. I work for my father who runs a small business in Northeastern PA and we have been begging this company to remove us from their services because they are double the cost of the competitor and for years they claimed we were locked into a 5 year contract. After many, many, many months of asking this company for a copy of the contract they finally provided it and turns out we have been out of contract with them for 16 MONTHS. But in their minds they did nothing wrong and will do nothing to compensate for the hardship, aggravation and wasted resources they have imposed on us. I will tell everyone I meet about how horrible this company is because I have never in my life dealt with such intolerable actions. It almost seems as if they don't care that they are ripping people off.

County Waste took over the service area in Bethlehem PA from another contractor. They provided service for a few months, and then, inexplicably, took back the waste bin that they provided in June or July. They continued to bill me until I found out that no service was provided from the contractor working on the house. I cancelled in August and they provided no refund or remedy.

I had terrible service with my last company, with them regularly missing my garbage and me having to call to get it picked up. This company bought them out, never contacted me that my provider changed, but kept the same is on board that couldn't do the job in the first place. After MONTHS of my garbage rarely getting picked up and having to take it back full and calling, I finally had to move on to someone else. STAY AWAY from this company. At least in the Bethlehem area.

I signed up with County Waste of Stroudsburg PA and my service was to start Tuesday April 3rd. They never picked up the trash. I called Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I put the trash out again on Monday evening April 9th for Tuesday April 11th pickup and no pickup! I called them on Tuesday and they said they would be there later that day to pick up, they never picked up again. Left it out for Wednesday and they didn't pick up then either!
I want my money back I paid in advance and them to pick up the cans and I will go back to my previous company.
