I purchased my vehicle back in 2020. I was offered to refinance through Consumers Credit Union Bank they offered GAP insurance. I made a onetime full payment for the GAP Policy at that time. I also had coverage through my personal Auto insurance. In June of 2022 my vehicle was declared a total loss. I have been going back and forth for over a year with my claims. Consumers Credit Union bank claims it’s my personal policy but my insurance made the payments they covered to the bank. Cuna Mutual Group didn't pay the remaining balance as that was the reason I even got the secondary insurance. My insurance only covered a certain amount but of course not the full coverage of the loan to Consumers Credit Bank. Cuna's Adjuster is assuming the full payment amount was paid by my personal insurance which is not the case. The adjuster is not going with the actual amount on the documents from Consumers Credit Union bank or my policy. Which is documented on paper. Cuna only paid a very small amount toward the claim and a large amount is still left over. Whenever I call the adjuster he doesn't answer the phone. Consumers Credit Union bank claims I should feel thankful Cuna paid something toward my claim. I ask for copies of my policy sent to me through mail or email but I receive nothing. Nothing from Consumers Credit Union Bank and I received nothing from Cuna Mutual Group. I paid in full for Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP insurance) secondary insurance from Cuna Mutual Group but have not received this coverage.

They should not be able to do this to innocent people.

My desire: I want them to be responsible and pay the remaining $7000 loan payment to Consumers Credit Union Bank since I purchased the insurance premium from Cuna Mutual Group to cover this loan if my personal auto insurance would not cover the whole amount.

What they are doing is Fraud!

Don't get insurance on your loan
Don't bother getting insurance on your loan they will find a way not to pay. They don't even look at your medical records they can care less about you. Paying that extra money is just a way to get money out of you when they are not going to pay your loan.

Unemployement
I was unemployed related to a back injury. First, they told me to file and unemployment claim. I waited 30 days and called them. Then they told me that I needed to file a disability claim. Waited 25 days and called them back. Then they told me that I needed an unemployment claim again. A few days later they denied my claim. CUNA is a scam, and they just want your money and when you need them, they deny you. Please save yourself the hassle and DO NOT buy their coverage protection. You would be buying false protection and all the out-of-pocket expense you paid in would be in vain.

Absolutely the worst insurance company out there! Best friend got this company insurance from his credit union. Put me on as receipt if something happened to him. Well, bad news it did. I put in the claim and have been jumping through hoops for 5 months. They refuse to pay anything. I would recommend that you stay away from this company. They WILL NOT TAKE CARE OF YOUR LOVED ONE'S IF YOU DIE!

I WILL NEVER PURCHASE A EXTENDED AUTO WARRANTY thru Cuna mutual group again- my car engine went bad and I towed it to the dealership in 12/17 they won’t provide a rental until the a invoice is sent (mean while you’re stuck without a car) and on top of that when they do they only provide a rental for 5-days. They refused to pursage a engine from the dealership and send their own which was a bad engine once notified by the dealership then they send another one which again was another bad engine. Once I got my car back in 3/18 the very next day the engine light came on. I took the car back to the dealership which they notified Cuna the process of the problem and they first denied the claim (remind you it’s their engine that was just installed) after problem was found they then tried to make me pay another deductible after 3 to 4 phone calls from me and the dealership they finally waved the fee. I been with out a car for more than two months and they give me a rental for 5-days - Cuna Mutual Group is the worst auto Warrenty company I ever had ????????????????????????

Review: Basically I purchased car warranty some years ago, I recently had mechanical work performed to my car being that my car was in the shop for some time I rented a car from [redacted] from 03/28/2014 through 04/03/2014 because Cuna Mutual Group claims to provide rental reimbursement in the amount of $150.00 I faxed my invoice from [redacted] on 04/05/2014 showing that I paid a total of $172.56, since providing this information I have only been refunded in the amount of $90.00 while still being owed an amount of $60.00 . I called in to ask why I was not refunded the entire amount and they stated that although it showed clearly on the invoice that I rented the car from 03/28/2014 @ 10: 31 as a pick up time and 04/03/2014 @ 10:47 am they still gave me problems. I even had the supervisor from [redacted] submit additional information and still they did not send me the additional reimbursement. I just want the reimbursement that's due nothing more.Desired Settlement: I just want the additional amount I am owed nothing more

I have been a member for over 30 years with the understanding of this insurance would match up to $3000. for life insurance if I maintained the amount of $3000. and I did for me and my wife for over 30 years . They say now that it is no longer good, for a reason the new members focus on broader interest to credit unions and their members.

Review: I tried to cancel a policy with them and requested a refund of 18.75 because it just posted through my credit union today. This employee named [redacted] and now a supervisor named [redacted] will not refund my money and told me it was my fault that I didn't call. Then they hung up on me.

I reported this occurance with my bank and now with you.

I tried calling back to resolve on my own but [redacted] said she would not refund the money either.

This is so unacceptable. I wonder how many others deal with this terrible customer service.Desired Settlement: I want my refund of 150.00 which they have taken out of my account since last September.

I tried this service because it was offered by my bank. It was the worst experience ever. They debited my account repeatedly and hassled me about cancelling the policy.

I have two loans thru my credit union that I carried disability ins. on when I stopped working because of pain I signed up for my social security and applied for disability social security I went thru the process met with their doctor then received my disability rating . I contacted CUNA and sent them my paperwork they want more info I do not have or did not need for the government . BASICLY CALLING ME A LIAR. still paying the loans on a fixed income ,doing without a lot just to stay on time .

I am on SSDI and METLIFE LTD. My CUNA policy has a higher premium and lower payout than my other disability policy and they has given he a harder time about collecting than any other. Every time I have submitted information I have had to resubmit for one reason or another. I feel like they are harassing and questioning me as a credit collection agency would.

Review: I applied for life insurance form this company on 9/7/15.I completed a direct debit,and gave them instruction to only do the debit on the 3rd of each month,They did the first debit on the 5th and it cleared on the 7th,causing my account to be OD,and in addition my rent check was returned,which cost me an additional $75 late fee,for rent.So,I called them and told them about the situation,and asked them why did this happen?I was told we donot do business on the weekend,and we sent you a letter stating our intentions,I then told him,I called and told you not to proceed with this transaction,but my request was ignored.I then asked them to refund my money that I wanted to cancel the policy,and to put it back into my account,he said"how can we put money back that we donot have"I said you do have it,he said it will take about 10-15 days to refund your money,and we are not going to require to sign a release,so I agreed.I have not received any response form these people,and no refund of$59.74+my OD fee of $29.

I have called these people several time,no success.I was referred to these people by the credit union,and they refuse to refund my money,saying they donot want to be involved.I was also promised my OD fee by a customer service rep.,she said her name was Jaylynn C.I have 30 days to cancel this policy,and I am within that time period.

I called them again on 10/8,and spoke to a very rude person,She said we are going to hold your money for 20 days,and you should have it back in your account 5-10 days after that.I could not believe this.I am so upset.

This company has broken the law,an EFT debit must be take on the designated date.Desired Settlement: I want money refunded to me immediately,if not I will take legal action against these people.Also the Od fee of $29

Do NOT do any business with this group. They never send you anything in the mail on your coverage, they raise your rates without informing you, they will not listen to anything the customer has to say, and even when you cancel they still make you pay for the entire quarter for a service you do not have or want. They are very rude!

Review: I DEMAND a refund from CUNA mutual for my alleged life insurance policy. CUNA billed me without my consent and REFUSED to refund me my money of 42.00$. I DO NOt authorize this policy and demand my money back. I am a soon to be homeless unemployed veteran and need this to live on.Desired Settlement: I DEMAND a refund of my 42.00 dollars immediately. Review: I purchased credit life /credit disability insurance through Cannon Federal Credit union which applies to existing vehicle loan, & is insured with CMFG. I have faithfull made All premiun / monthly payments to each. Unfortunately, in March 2013, I' became totally disabled & forced to resign from my civil service position and awarderd full social security disability benefits , after a 5 month delay. I also, filed a claim with the insured company. My primary care phyisician , & I have providied All required documented evidence which resulted in CMFG making 5 claim payment on the existing loan , since 3/10/2013. The claims person , [redacted] , has done everything within her realm to delay/deny the claim , far exceeding the waiting period dates. Her Very rude / unprofessional and impromptu phone calls constantly stating she needs additional information . Look , again, my primary care physician & I have submitted numerous claim forms , and provided All required evidence includeing social security disability award letter , phyicians notes / statements , DOD - Civil servive pay stubs & questionaires. Haven't been able to return to work since March 2013. We wonder if this is an effort , to futher her career , calling herself saving the company funds or what ? I'm totally disabled & will not be returning to work & still seeing several phyicians in & out of my local area. In fact , I have just been released from Presbyterian Hospital in [redacted] . for heart catheterization, past , March 2013, Respiratory failure, Chronic COPD, Hypertension , Herneated disk in neck & multiple buldging disk in back , Sever sleep apnea. Nothing has changed . Please advise if legal reprensation is required and I will definately proceed.Desired Settlement: To remedy , CUNA Mutual Group needs to remit claim payments without Any further delays , and inform [redacted] on what it takes to be a people person !

Review: I emailed customer service of this company twice to cancel my insurance policy and ask for the cash value to be refunded, but instead of doing so continued to send letters stating that a automatic payment will be taking out and a loan also.Desired Settlement: cancel insurance policy as requested/ and cash value refunded

Review: [redacted] suffered a stroke on 12/15/2013. We realized recently that we have been paying a monthly fee for disability protection for our Navy Federal Credit Union. We submitted a claim, as my husband is disabled and has been accepted for Social Security Disability benefits. Cuna denied our claim based on the fact that he had not been working in the 25 days prior to his stroke. It is true that he resigned from a very high-stress job several months before his stroke, but he was working for a company [redacted], in which we [redacted]. He had spent many weeks prior to the stroke in Michigan, but had returned home for the holidays. We have submitted a written explanation to Cuna, but they do not respond.Desired Settlement: Honor the disability claim (which, by the way, is pretty meager.) The "help" that we seek is that the disability policy provides the minimum payment on the credit card for twelve months. This is hardly worth the trouble, but I believe it is the audacity of a company that is supposed to help disabled people to deny this small benefit to someone who is clearly disabled and has been paying this extra premium for years.

Review: I have a payment protection plan with Cuna mutual. they are having me and my doctor fill out paper work every month in order for them to honor my claim. then they told me they are only liable to pay a certain portion of the claim. none of the excuses they are telling me were in the terms and conditions when I signed up for this payment protection. I have to pay to have paperwork filled out. by the the time I pay for rides to doctor and for papers to be filled out cuna mutual is basically paying nothing. all the paperwork is merely to discourage you from filling your claim. doctor gave them previous paperwork detailing I will be out till march 2015. relationship I have with my doctor and office personnel is getting to be stressful due to constant paperwork I have to give them from cuna mutual. this company is a rip-off.Desired Settlement: stop having to fill out excessive amount of paperwork. refund since they are not paying the minimum amount due required on credit card.

Review: I am experiencing problems with CUNA on my policy for Disability Insurance. I took out disability insurance on my RV purchase thru the Crouse Credit Union. I was accessed by SSDI as total and permanent. 100% because they go no higher or lower. I was informed that I will not have to return because I met the guidelines. The VA has since reviewed my case and changed my rating to 100%. even though it added up to 135%. At the time I was awarded education rehab benefits so I applied thinking I would be able to retrain and enter the job force. Within days of started the VA consular pulled my funding saying it would be to hard and exasterbate my condition. This whole ordeal with everyone involved has been worse than anything I have ever been thru! Filling out forms that are meant for short term disability by Doctors that treat me for minor everyday illness.Why would they sign anything even if they could. I paid for the coverage, they paid up to 09/15/2013.Desired Settlement: Pick up the payments that are in arrears. Continue future payments as per contract. Quit bothering me for proof of disability.
