Dalewood Health & Wellness Reviews (%countItem)

Dear Sir/Madam,
I heard about their advertisement on radio (the grants).
Called the phone number, was referred to Dalewood clinic.
We set up the meeting. The co-coordinator who was doing an intake explained that within the entire period of 16 months the support will be provided to me in the form of e-mails, calls, follow up, etc. to properly enable my stimulation and compliance with the program. I received a couple of the e-mails at the beginning of signing up process and then all the correspondence stopped. I tried calling them, sent e-mails, they bounced back.

I discovered later that there is apparently a chain of pre-agreed *** referrals between these two entities and many people were led to believe in the true intentions of their support. ***

Also, after reviewing my benefits available at that time clinic coordinator reassured me that most of my amount is covered, since their dietitian provides proper receipt and is fully licensed with ***. My benefit was never paid, denied several times due to the improper receipt provided by Dalewood.

Desired Outcome

I would like to request full refund from the abode facility. thank you!

On June 25, 2019 I cancelled my program and requested information regrading a refund. Since then, I have been trying to talk to ***, who told me he would get back to me about my refund last year and never did. I have been completely ignored for close for 6 months. I finally received an email (Feb 4, 2020) outlining what my refund would be $830.00. However, they are charging me for services I never received which I indicated in an email to them (Feb 4, 2020). Since then, I have emailed and called, and have not been able to get answer to my questions or actually receive the refund that was promised to me.

Desired Outcome

I need someone from Trillium Weight Loss to contact me with answers to my questions noted in the email attached. Unfortunately, if I don't receive a reply from them, I will be pursuing legal action.

On February 18, 2019, I received a letter informing me that I had been conditionally approved for a Weight Loss Grant through Weight Loss Grants Organization. They sent me to a "certified partner," Dalewood Health and Wellness (now Trillium Weight Loss).

Dalewood Health failed to uphold and deliver the agreed upon services. I never received the exercise kit nor did I speak with a personal exercise coach. Trillium also failed to inform me that my local clinic was no longer operational, and failed to direct me to a new coordinator when my former coordinator, ***, left the company. In addition, the program that was delivered absolutely did not live up to its promises. The claims made during my intake appointments were intentionally misleading, and payment was demanded before I was able to review any of the promised materials. The services being provided were entirely misrepresented, and what they did deliver was generic and essentially useless.

Dalewood Health also failed to disclose its full relationship with the now-defunct Weight Loss Grants Canada through Revverie Inc. at the time the contract was signed, thus misrepresenting the company, its interests, and the services offered. I was told they had no relationship, but it turned out after some media digging and other complaints that both organizations (Dalewood and Weight Loss Grants Canada) are owned by the same company. I was lead to believe that Weight Loss Grants Canada was a government grant program. The whole process was intentionally misleading.

I have tried to contact the business and they have refused to cooperate. When I've contacted them they've given me the ring-around and have generally been unresponsive. Weight Loss Grants Organization have also not replied to any of my messages asking for clarification of terms and conditions.

***.*** I would prefer to just settle it and move on. ***

Thank you

Further details:

Payment 1, $1225.00, made February 20, 2019 via credit card ***. Confirmation number XXXXXF

Payment 2, $1225.00, made March 20, 2019, via eTransfer over the phone,***.

Intake/clinic coordinator at the time:

Desired Outcome

I would like a full refund in the amount of $2450.

Dalewood Health & Wellness Response • Mar 06, 2020

Ms. has received all the material and customized programs based on her genetic testing. Ms. also had full access to health care team, Registered Dietitian, Health Coach, Fitness Coach through phone. email, and her message board.
Her health team had reached out to her on many occasions through the message board that Ms. had experience using.

The in-person weigh-ins at a weigh-in office were not a requirement of the program. Clients received the most out of their program when they engaged with their Registered Dietitian and provided food logs and weight reports by stepping on their scale at home.

Ms. has waited over 1 year to say that she was unhappy with the program.

Ms. is not eligible for a refund.

Customer Response • Mar 11, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I stated I was unhappy with the program immediately upon receiving it but got basically no response. I waited this long to submit a complaint because I have severe anxiety (medically diagnosed) and didn't know how to deal with the situation.

The bulk of my complaint is less with the services provided and more with the intentional misrepresentation of the company and the program to potential customers. (See: "The claims made during my intake appointments were intentionally misleading, and payment was demanded before I was able to review any of the promised materials. The services being provided were entirely misrepresented ... Dalewood Health also failed to disclose its full relationship with the now-defunct Weight Loss Grants Canada through Revverie Inc. at the time the contract was signed, thus misrepresenting the company, its interests, and the services offered. I was told they had no relationship, but it turned out after some media digging and other complaints that both organizations Dalewood and Weight Loss Grants Canada are owned by the same company. I was lead to believe that Weight Loss Grants Canada was a government grant program. The whole process was intentionally misleading.")

At this point I would accept a partial refund and I would be more than happy to return any materials provided to me.

If I could give less than one star I would.
Lots of empty promises to get you in the door and get your money with no follow up. Did not deliver on almost any of the services promised and took weeks to get call backs and still no action taken on my concerns and outright complaints on their poor service, organization, and overall program.

It sounds good upfront - promises made - few are kept.
In Calgary, an office was closed with no notice, no communication, and this was after the clinic director, who was supposed to be there for consultations, weigh-ins, etc.
wouldn't return phone calls, didn't bother noting down appointment dates/times.
From having so much hope to being so disappointed; along with having lost a lot of money.

The cost to join this program is *** and you are expected to do exercises on your own.
All these fancy tests they do on you means nothing if you don't understand the booklet.
Their affiliation with *** use to trouble me but now knowing the 2 companies are working together makes it even more disappointing.
Dalewood does absolutely nothing to support their clients who are trying to get their reimbursement back from ***
Instead they pull out from *** now that there is media coverage
***.
My clinical director advised me many times, not to worry..... " you will get your money back"
Misleading advertising coming from this company and they should be held accountable for the people not receiving their reimbursements back.

I originally contacted the *** after hearing many radio commercials and was sent to the Surrey office of Dalewood Health and Wellness for my original weigh in. At this time the Clinic Director explained how easy obtaining the grant was and went on to sell me the (then Dalewood, now Trillum) program. Since I was sent there by the *** agency it was implied that they were somewhat of an agent for the ***. I have a pamphlet that ***, the Clinic Director wrote "upon reaching the goal you will receive $2112." I paid the first 50% deposit on in February 20, 2018 to the total of $1320 and two weeks later the remaining $1320 for a total of $2640 on March 20, 2018. I completed the intake appointments and go started on the program. I had occasional correspondance with the staff at Dalewood and when I reached my agreed goal weight in November I contacted them to advise me how to obtain my grant. They assured me how simple it was. I went ahead and completed the necessary paperwork, which included a visit to a doctor for a 'weigh out' form to be completed. I submitted this documentation and waited, I didn't hear anything from Dalewood or ***. About month later I got in touch with the Dalewood Clinic Director, she told me on the phone that the procedure had changed due to numerous instances of fraud and that the website wasn't clear on the protocols. I contacted *** and they told me I had to wait until my program 'end date' which was March 23, 2019 before requesting the grant. So I waited and on March 30th I returned to the doctor, completed the necessary form and resubmitted all the required documentation. It has taken over 6 weeks for correspondence. The clinic director at Dalewood has suggested I get in touch with *** to which I have sent several emails and he has not replied. I have all original documentation, invoices, receipts, forms, recorded telephone conversations, emails, and screen shots of the message board.

Desired Outcome

I have been grossly mislead *** by what is not Trillium Weightloss. If the *** is not going to to reimburse me the 80% of the fees I paid Dalewood, as the clinic director informed me would happen with ease when I reached my goal weight, then Trillium should provide a sizeable refund of the fees I paid them for intentionally misrepresenting the *** and taking my money knowing I would not be reimbursed.

Dalewood Health & Wellness Response • May 31, 2019

The concerns that you have raised are with the***.

You are correct. Their program is simple, loss at least the amount of weight that you agreed to on the date that you chose, provided you follow all the rules and regulations.

Continue to follow up with the grant organization to have it explained in more detail to you.

Customer Response • May 31, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
It was a representative from Dalewood Health and Wellness that I met with in person and completed the intake form. At this time *** (Clinic Director at Dalewood) informed me, in writing, that if I subscribed to the Dalewood program that I would receive $2116 once reaching my goal weight (I have this documentation). The direct communication was with Dalewood and they should follow through with this commitment. I believe I was either wrongly informed or grossly misled by Dalewood. I expect a cheque for $2116 as promised by Dalewood.

Dalewood Health & Wellness Response • Jun 12, 2019

As an accredited provider, Dalewood was able to provide the official Weight Declaration Form to establish a starting weight for the grant organization.

Registering for the grant was done directly with the***. If there is a concern regarding the rules and regulations of the grant organization, they must be addressed with them.

I am trying to lose weight and receive a grant using this organization:
***

They would reimburse me a percentage of the cost if I hit certain weight goals.

They contract the initial weigh-in and assessment with Dalewood Health and Wellness Centre, and I have had 2 appointments cancelled with zero reasoning. The *** has been the one to follow up with me both times, and now I currently am left with an appointment that I have to take time off work for, whereas my other appointments were after work. I just called the Organization today and the Kitchener location apparently is booked up for the whole month. I have put off this weight loss program for 2 weeks because of these delays. At the very least, be transparent and tell me why I have been cancelled twice within the span of a week. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if they called my the morning of the 17th to tell me that my appointment is cancelled for that same day.

Desired Outcome

1 - Explain why my appointments were cancelled at the last minute both times. 2 - I want them to work with *** to have me enrolled in the program without me having to wait for an appointment yet again. I'll go to a pharmacy for an initial assessment, share that with Dalewood and *** so we can ensure accuracy. I don't want to lose money I can be reimbursed because of someone providing *** poor customer service.

Dalewood Health & Wellness Response • Apr 12, 2019

We have spoken to Mr., and the *** who had made the appointments and rescheduled them, will be finding a solution to ensure that Mr. will not be penalized with respect to qualifying for a grant.

I was referred to Dalewood Health Clinic, by the *** program advertised on TV and on Jan 2/2019 and had an appointment and paid for their program on Jan. 14/2019 in the amount $2650.00 based on their sales pitch that I would have access to dieticians, kinesiologists and a health coach.
On my second visit on Jan.22/2019, I had submitted my DNA sample sent via ***, and I had advised that *** that I had returned this using the *** return package sent. She advised this would take 3 to 4 weeks to process, and that is when my program would begin. It was during this visit that it was explained that the above mentioned health care individuals were not hands on but rather that I would have remote access via *** etc. When I said their was a 2 hour time difference and I was aware of this she had no response. As I did not want to make a hasty decision I took a few days to think about whether to cancel or not but in end decided this was not the program for me, and had this been made clear at the outset I would not have signed up. I also told *** on my first visit that I had recently had a heart attack and was searching for the right program. My cancellation email was sent on Jan. 28/2019, and I received a refund on Feb, 1/2019 in the amount of $1805.00 I do not believe their charge of $250.00 for their IN-Take session or the charge of $150.00 for the Metabolic Rate Test is warranted. Also the $445.00 charge for the Comprehensive Nutrigenomics Test is applicable in view of the comment made by *** that this would take 3 to 4 weeks. When I received my refund, minus the above amounts, I also received a Energy Balance results sheet, along with a book Your Diet According To Your DNA, neither of which mean anything to me. I also believe the DNA sample was rushed through in order to charge me. Due to the fact that I was a client for exactly 11 days I believe the amount charged exorbodent. I have tried get a response from *** at Dalewood Health but have had no response from him after 2 emails and 1 phone message. I do not object to paying for cost of service recovery but believe these charges are being inflated.

Desired Outcome

A further refund of at least another $500.00 if not a full refund based on services used or not used in this case

Dalewood Health & Wellness Response • Apr 09, 2019

Ms *** has spoken to *** she will be refunded an additional $445 as per her communication with Dalewood.

Customer Response • Apr 12, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)

I was advised to join Dalewood as it was an approved weight loss organization by the ***. It was $2400 for a one year weight loss program. I was told it was the VIP package. I received a great deal of paper, some dollar store plastic bowls, a food scale that never worked and a fitness tracker which broke within a week. I asked for a replacement fitness tracker, and was told that this would be requested, but never heard more about it. The 'complementary' weigh ins were in a one person office. I was weighed in, generally told that I'm not doing too badly or that my jeans weigh more etc. My waist was measured and I was told that I lost an inch every time for the first 4 or so weigh ins. There was no way, as I had only lost about 5 pounds all together at that point.
There was no motivation, only an option to email a dietitian if needed.
I unfortunately had a lot of trouble with arthritis in my hip over this time which became so bad that I had to have hip replacement surgery last September. It was difficult to lose weight as I was not able to exercise and was on various different pain relief medications. I was repeatedly told by the one person in the Dalewood office that I could get an extension on the weight loss grants, "no problem". This ended up not being the case. This should never have been promised. The program was not at all worth the $2400 that was paid. It was a complete ***.

Desired Outcome

I would like a 50% refund for the program not being at all motivating for weight loss and being overpriced for poor quality service and products.

Hello,

I apologize that the Revdex.com emails were in my spam email and that I did not reply earlier. The case says that the money would be sent on March 25th. I have not yet received the refund. Can you please confirm if it has been processsed?

Thank you

Dalewood Health & Wellness Response • Apr 10, 2019

The refund was pending approval from Ms..

The refund of $975 has been processed today and a refund cheque will be mailed on Friday, April 12.

I joined Dalewood Health and Wellness Clinic to lose weight and improve my overall health. Over the years I have tried many diets that just haven't worked for me. I have wasted a lot of time and energy, and ultimately making it harder to achieve my goals. Their program is tailored to you, created by experts to help you maintain a nutrition, healthy weight and lifestyle for the long term. Dalewood Health and Wellness Clinic has a staff of health coaches, physical trainers, nutritionists and other well qualified staff who are all willing and capable to assist you in reaching your goal with the emphasis on long term. The staff are very flexible and accommodating to all my requests and questions. A bonus with this company the clinic doesn't need to be in your town or city. They have a great website with a wealth of information and tools to help you along your journey. Your team is always available to answer your questions via telephone, email or on their message board. I have had a great overall experience

I paid Dalewood $4800 and in return they were to provide the following services for my daughter and I according to their terms and conditions.

1. In-take Session - met
2. Analyze genetic and metabolic tests - partially met - the tests were taken but the results were never applied to the diet plan. For example - the test indicated a gluten tolerance for both of us. My daughter's plan wanted her to eat 2.5 cups of rice for a meal and mine had a bread option for each meal.
3. Develop personalized program - not met - the meal plan provided was based on the Canada Food Guide and was not aligned with the metabolic test results.
4. Results discussed - met
5. Follow-up and plan adjustments - not met - I never heard from anyone for any adjustments. At my weigh-ins I questioned the diet plan and was told maybe I should follow a low carb diet to get the weight off. My daughter was told to eat 2300 calories per day. She questioned the amount and was told they would follow-up with her and adjust the plan if need be. No one followed up.
6. Follow-up and exercise adjustments - not met - We never heard from anyone for a follow-up.
7. Follow-up Cognitive Behavior Coach, as often as needed, for 1 year or until weight loss goal is achieved. - not met - Again no one ever called for a follow up.
8. Updated re-test Metabolic Rate Test - not met

When you pay someone $4800 upfront you expect them to work on a timely basis. It took almost 2 months to get the program.

The program was falsely advertised to us the first day we met. The dietician providing the information never once said that the program was an online program. She said you will meet with a dietician to go over your plan. They had all the resources to make this happen in AB, yet our communication had to be done via a phone call in Ontario.

Our only face to face contact was with the weigh in girl. When we had a concern about the diet not working she suggested we try a low carb diet. I'm not sure what her qualifications were, but we were pretty sure she was not a dietician and should not be providing the advice she was.

The exercise plan was not customized as no one met with us to see if we were even capable of doing the exercises prescribed.

There is huge lack of communication with this company. We had concerns and we let the weigh in girl know. Why was this information never communicated for anyone to contact us? Why did no one ever follow up on a timely basis?

I sent emails to the AB Dietician and when she finally replied she said we cancelled our weigh ins. Had she actually looked at our file she would have seen that we weighed in every 2 weeks and the cancelled times were actually rescheduled. We were told our file was being sent to ON to be audited. I have tried contacting the person there a couple of times, but have received nothing to date.

Desired Outcome

I am seeking a refund of $4,800.

Dalewood Health & Wellness Response • Apr 10, 2019

A program restart was provided to both *** and ***.

Customer Response • Apr 11, 2019

to meThanks for all your help ***. I talked to Dalewood today and we were able to work things out, so I am satisfied with their response.Enjoy the rest of your week.

I was directed to this clinic by ***. At the initial visit, they quickly took my credit card info, promising me results. The most outrageous thing about DNA results, it was a manual regurgitation of what I told them about myself at the assessment. I was so disappointed. They quickly took all the money before the results or program got to me by Courier. I got it two weeks after all payments taken. I had a call from the *** Dietician, who told me more about herself than she wanted to know about me the Subject. She was so abrupt and kept talking about her *** heritage. The other issue was the difficulty getting a weigh in appointment. When I finally got my appointment the young lady began to tell me how late I was and that she had another client coming soon. Once they took the fees, I was subjected to email contact. They had no interest in meeting with my. It was a complete waste of $2200.

Hello - Please be advised that we cannot adjudicate client concerns via the Revdex.com web portal due to privacy laws that govern health care professionals.

It would be nearly impossible to respond to your concern online or through an intermediary like the Revdex.com without referring to the confidential charting notes in your file and revealing sensitive and privileged information.

Dalewood Health was referred to me by ***. When I started, I lost a few pounds and followed program. The weight loss stalled, I sent several messages to talk to dietician and after poor service response, I asked to switch dieticians. The only 1 person responsible for complaints was *** and she immediately told me she was not going to solve my issue. She was ***, *** and a *** about the process to the point I asked for a refund so I could find another program. They refunded only a small portion of the program and I filled out an appeal as per there policy. I had not heard from them for over 42 days when I found out that *** (the very one I complained about) was the only one responsible for complaints. I have a voice mail from an employee at the Dalewood Clinic in Calagry Quarry park that stated even she felt my request to switch dieticians was resonable and that this situation was not good. I have had nothing but the run around from Dalewood Health and even the *** who referred the clinic to me. ***.

Desired Outcome

Full refund as I am not able to port any testing from Dalewood over to any new accredited program. A change in there complaint process so they have a transparent and ethical way of dealing with issues. Customer service training for ***. The request was a simple one based on merit. She could have easily changed dietitians and we would not be here.

Ms *** has decided to pursue a resolution through a different avenue. We will be communicating with her through that other avenue.

They sell you on this great program with a full support team, but it's all by phone. I was excited to receive personalized meal plans, but all I got was a book with empty pages where I can plan my own meals, along with a few recipes. When I asked for more meal plans, I was referred to an outside website that has some good ideas. The workout plan was way too basic for me, and when I asked for something different I was told it was fine. How does a personal trainer work from a phone? It's so busy at the office you can barely get a weigh in appointment. This was a complete waste of $2400.

Thank you.

No real help or direction. They test your DNA and give you a book. All there professionals are only available online, emails or by phone. I'm still waiting on how to start this program 6 months later. No direction on how to start this program. No human contact once they get your money from the initial meeting. No direction. Even personal trainer is supposed to be over the phone. ??? She's never seen me, to assess me physically. They should advertise as an online program. Save $2600 and buy a book from a store. I truly feel like I've been *** out of my hard earned money.

I am usually not one to leave a poor review but I feel like the program was a ***. I spent $2400 and I won't see a penny of it back. They promise you the world when signing you up and do not delivery on any promises. I understand you have to be accountable but when I was promised all these amazing things that I saw value in and then NOTHING was delivered I was extremely disappointed. I was told that if I wasn't meeting my step goals the trainer would be on my butt, the dietician would send me plenty of recipes weekly to help me stay motivated, they would stay on top of having me come in for weigh ins and if I felt the need to over eat I could get support on the spot. I lost my tracker the second day, no follow up from my trainer. The dietician stopped all contact within the first month, I had to reschedule my second weigh in and no call back. I asked questions about support and I wouldn't hear a peep for days. Not one promise was met.

Horrible horrible service , and trying to get your money back is like pulling teeth , oh they they send 3000 dollar checks in the mail and when it goes missing ?? what happens then ??

Don't go to this company, communication is non existent I had to call the director Sara 4 times and then called the office and got transferred to her .

As you may know that losing weight is not that easy as it sounds, otherwise you wouldn't want to help people in this matter.
I did go to the clinic in Calgary and the first day of consultation right on the spot I had to pay $2,100. For this amount you get a DNA test and after they give you a diet plan which is very general and you can find it any website and exercise that again you can find it in YouTube.
There is no support at all. You need to contact them if you have a question. There is no meeting with dietitian or anybody else. All communication is through email!!
Every two weeks you need to go to the clinic and in 5 minutes s lady weight you which is not a professional and she can't answer any of your questions.
In general, I am very disappointed and do not recommend this center to any body.
I still don't know why it cost this large amount. Other wight loss clinic you pay weekly and if you realize that their program is not working for you, you try different place.
Here you need to pay full amount in advance.

We have seen first-hand how feedback from our customers has helped to improve our services and meet added needs. We also believe customers deserve a response if they've posted something online about a bad experience. Like any company, Dalewood is not perfect and cannot provide a perfect experience every time, but when reading online reviews you may come to think the majority of our clients have a negative experience, however that is not the case. Our online reviews are primarily from the people who are angry or frustrated enough to write a negative review. Many of those people are rightly frustrated by a poor experience and we will always do our best to fix it, but the silent majority of customers (98%) that are satisfied with the services they received from us never think to express their views online, especially when nobody is asking them to. Thousands of our clients have lost weight and are grateful to Dalewood for helping improve their health, but never think to say, "Let me tell about my positive outcome on the Revdex.com's website", especially since most people believe that the purpose of the Revdex.com is to complain about a business and not commend it. For this reason, our online reviews are heavily skewed to show only the negative ones, which truly does not reflect the positive outcomes the majority of our clients receive. You may be thinking that there is an incredibly easy fix to this problem: Just respond to the online review! â??Well it's not that simple...It would be nearly impossible to respond to a client's concerns online or through an intermediary like the Revdex.com without referring to the confidential charting notes in the patient's file and revealing sensitive and privileged information. Patient confidentiality is one of the most important pillars of health care. Protecting the private details of a patient is not just a matter of moral respect, it is essential in retaining the important bond of trust between the health care provider and the client/patient. This kind of Privacy is important to stress because it permits health activities to be carried out in ways that protect individuals' dignity. In fact, just acknowledging the online review has the potential to give it 'new life' and bring undesired consequences as most people don't realize that they are unknowingly giving up their privacy rights when they divulge their personal health matters online, especially because elements of their post can be used against them anytime in the future by Insurers, government agencies and current or future employers. â??So What if I Have a Complaint About Dalewood? We take our client's concerns very seriously and have swift measures in place to ensure clients' grievances are heard. Unsatisfied clients are always able to express their concerns and have them promptly addressed. In the event of an impasse, Dalewood has a formal dispute resolution process in place that includes Provincially mandated arbitration to ensure you are treated fairly. We realize it's not always easy to talk about difficult issues, however most can be resolved through discussion. Anyone with an unresolved complaint can escalate their matter to our Program Director, Sara J., RD at X-XXX-XXX-XXXX, Ext *** or send an email to ***@dalewoodclinic.com - Thank you.

I was dealing with the clinic in Hanson Square. The clinical director set me up with the program and ensured me that she would be my contact if I had any problems. I had one problem after another. I didn't get my exercises. I had to follow up to get them. I kept requesting a weigh in via the appropriate email template they sent me from hq and no one would respond. I sent the clinical director 5 emails and she never did respond to any of the them. I finally figured out who to contact to get my weigh in. I went in and requested my dietician receipt for the second time ans the clinical director never sent it to me. Still didn't get it. I was suppose to book a weigh in every 2 weeks. The next appointment was cancelled on me via email 5 minutes before the appointment began. In 6 months, I had 2 appointments. They fired that individual and then hired another person who had a ridw personality and gossiped about the office problems. I found the entire process very unprofessional and unorganized. The Hq staff were better at communicating but getting advice from your mentor to get more sleep when you have young children was not helpful. Overall, I did lose weight because my doctor diagnosed me with an autoimmune disease and I started treating that appropriately. I definitely did not lose weight because of the support or the program at dalewood.
