I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is not satisfactory to me.
I want to be able to know how much it would cost before I request Quest Diagnostics to perform the service. Not after the fact that service has already been done.I want to be able to go to the Quest Diagnostics with the services the doctor has prescribed and with my insurance information. Quest Diagnostics (in collaboration with Insurance company) should be able to tell me how much it would cost before I agree to services. Or Quest Diagnostics should be able to tell it might take X number of days to figure out information (between Quest Diagnostics and the Insurance company. I can certainly wait to get the accurate information before I proceed with my annual blood test. I am not in an emergency.I find this practice of finding the cost information after the service is performed a shady and convoluted business practice. As a consumer, I feel like we are exploited by Quest Diagnostics (in conjunctions with Insurance company). When I go to a store to purchase a shoe, I know exactly how much it cost. I can make an informed decision whether to go ahead with purchase or not. But with Quest Diagnostics lab tests, I have no idea how much it would cost. I would have to keep my finger crossed and hope that there is no unexpected bills in the mail.
