Davis Communications Inc. Reviews (33)

Review: I have intermittent internet connection outages. This has been an ongoing and deteriorating condition for almost two years. I have not had a full day's service in the last three months. The folks on the helpline are very apologetic. Every time I call they say something to the effect of: "I can see that you've had 118 interruptions in service in the last 30 days!". At their suggestion I have replaced my wireless router, all the cords and a splitter, the modem, and the surge protector. The helpline keeps putting in service tickets for the local office to pull new wiring to my house, but the local office never calls to arrange it. When I call the local office they only offer to switch modems again; they will not perform a service call to my home.Desired Settlement: I want the local office to call me at [redacted] to schedule installation of new cabling to my home, as promised by the support line several times in this week alone.

In view of the excessive outages, I would also like a refund of payments for the last two month's service.

The records

of this customer show, DCI, called the customer back June 17th 2015. We also have been to their location for a service call July 6th 2015. The account shows DCI has credited the

account for issues. There is a service

call in, for July 17 2015 to install a new outlet for the location. DCI will not be charging for the outlet install. If the customer has any more questions or concerns please call our office at [redacted] or [redacted].

Revdex.com,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I have not had an internet outage at home since the service technician worked on the lines -- which is making it much easier to keep up on my schoolwork.

This company is a joke, I have never had a company that requires most of my time being on the phone with customer service than this one. We are on their 10mbps Internet plan and every time I run a speed test I'm only getting at best 2mbps. And every time you call them they give you the run around and say turn it off and back on EVERYTIME!! As many times as I have called them you'd think they would try to look deeper into the problem but no they're are the worst tv/Internet service I have ever had. I also have tv through them and had called them multiple times saying our service kept cutting out and guess what they said turn it off and on.. Hey goed figure, then apparently everyone else is experiencing this now, so now they wanna get up off their lazy keesters and attempt something. Then I go to my brothers house who is literally 2 houses away and run the same speed test and he gets what he's paying for everytime.. I'm not a cable guy but maybe there is something else wrong other then a power cycle solving everything try getting up off your lazy keesters and fix your crappy service.. give me my money's worth..

Review: In June of 2015 became a customer of Davis Communication. I purchased a plan that was supposed to be providing me with 10 mbs of speed for my internet. I had problems sometimes with speed and being able to download and stream videos using this service. When the number of people in my household increased, the current speed was not sufficient for the household use. I called Davis Communication and asked to increase my internet to a speed of 20 mbs of speed. I was still having minors problems with speed but nothing to complain about. It was brought to my attention that I am able to check the speed of my internet through an XBOX 1 gaming system. I was told by my roommate that for the past 3 months My speed has only been averaging 5 mbs of speed. When I he showed me how to check the speed of the internet, our box was only producing 2 mbs of speed. The next day I went to the Davis Communication office and asked why I was only getting 5 mbs when I was paying for 20 mbs. The employee explained to me that they did not have the equipment to provide the speed I was paying for. I then asked since I have been paying for 20 mbs and have only been given 5 mbs, how will I be compensated for the service I am paying for, but not receiving. The employee went in the back to speak with someone and came back shortly to tell me that there is nothing they can do for me. I asked to speak with a manager and was not given that opportunity. Davis Communication is telling everyone who purchases their service that they may receive 20 mbs of speed, even though they knowingly cannot. They are aware of the problem and are continuing to sell a product they cannot provide.Desired Settlement: I want to be refunded the entire amount of money I have spent on Davis Communication internet over the last year because I have not been given the service that I have been paying for.

Response:

Called customer to discuss situation 3/18/2015.

Absolutely terrible internet. The internet constantly turns off and on throughout the day. Some days it can be out for hours and hours. The tech support offers little help, they sent a "Tech guy" out to take a look at the problem but did nothing, we changed modems and still nothing. The internet continue to turn off and on every few mins or if we are lucky every few hours. If your looking for a reliable cable company to play video games, stream videos, or just watch Netflix this is not the company for you. It amazing me a company like this is even in business. Luckily for them a company like Comcast hasn't come to this town yet, which is saying a lot. This will definitely be the last time I pay $70 a month for this.

I live on a outlying road from Cheney. DCI posts that they provide internet service. The service on Murphy Rd is poor at best. It drops all the time. This has been happening for over 5 years. With no end in sight. Also they have an after hours tech line. This is a person in another state that says turn the modem off. Davis Cheney does no follow-up on outages on the Monday. So your choice is fairly fast internet through Davis and poor continuity or slower DSL service that actually stays up.

Terrible. If you want one word, that's it. Every day the internet is out for at least an hour (most of the time, it's longer). Eventually I stopped asking myself "will the internet go out today?" And started asking myself "WHEN will the internet go out today and for how long?" It really sucks when an assignment is due via internet at midnight and your absolutely ridiculous internet service (that you pay for) just doesn't work. I warn anyone considering DCI, consider no longer. Go with century link or someone else if they're available in Cheney. I can't believe this site have them such a high rating, it almost makes me wonder how credible this site is for giving them the "A+". I am switching and am very happy about it, even if you have to spend a bit more it will be worth it (DCI charges 49.95 for 10mbps down and I'm switching to 25mbps down for the same price)

I was very impressed with this company. I needed to find out if a line coming into my rental home was being utilized as cable. I gave the staff at Davis Communication my address and they were able to advise me that the line was in use. I needed to have this line moved in order for my neighbor to build a shop. I received a call back from the staff as to what they could do to help me get this issue resolved. Davis Communications was fast and friendly and I will be recommending this company to all my renters.

NOT use this company if another is available. We have outages nearly every evening. Modem goes on and off. The company will not fix the issues after a year of complaints.

Review: As of 2014, Davis told customers that we needed a digital box for the cable service. I went to their hole-in-the-wall dump of an office and picked up the two boxes for my televisions. After setting them up and getting connected, problems began right away. Constant disruption of service messages would appear as I was trying to watch a game or show. I called and left messages for a service call, but after three months, nobody came. When I didn't pay my bill because of the poor service, they called me and informed me I didn't need the boxes and that they were having all kinds of issues. I should have just connected the cable to the wall outlet and all would be fine. They then disconnected my service! This place is a total joke and have a monopoly in Cheney with thousands of students living in apartments where they can't get a satellite provider. Their prices are very steep and they refuse to sell to [redacted]! Don't buy service from them!Desired Settlement: I want my service hooked up and I will pay monthly starting immediately.

Response:

On April 17th 2014, the customer spoke to one of

the employees and stated; they would come in to make a payment and schedule a

service call. We do not have a record of

the service call being requested nor the payment promised. We are sorry for the inconvenience that was

created for the customer by the converter box.

In order to fix the issue, we need to physically go to the location, when

the customer is available to evaluate the problem.

Revdex.com,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below:

They have terrible service are out severale times a month & never get back with the customer. They have some wired monopoly on having a closed market not allowing competition like [redacted] etc. if I could get another provider I would drop Davis cable in a heartbeat. They are and terrible company

Review: I've been with Davis Communication as my internet service provider for about 5 months now. I currently pay 85 dollars a month for 30 MBPS download speed and 5 MBPS upload speed. I'm not receiving the speeds I'm paying for, and haven't been for some time now. I test the speeds regularly throughout the day to see if they've increased or decreased, and on a good day i'm lucky to get the advertised speeds for 1 hour a day. I have contacted Davis' customer support line 3 times and been told a tech would contact me to take a look. I never received a call. I was also told Davis was installing new equipment that would help with peak hour traffic, but my speeds have only gotten worse since that conversation.Desired Settlement: I either want to get the speeds I pay for on a consistent bases, or be refunded my most recent payment and have my service cancelled.

Business

Response:

There have been some speed issues at night from the amount

of traffic we are experiencing; we have purchased equipment to help resolve

this issue. If the services have issue all day, then there

is something else causing the problems. We

apologize if this has caused you stress.

We can give compensation for the last month of service and or you can

disconnect services if you choose. We do not have any contracts to keep you

locked in to our services. We have not

had communication with you since November 2015.

Please contact the office [redacted] or [redacted] so we can discuss

the situation in more detail and resolve the issues.

Thank you for your time and concerns.

Review: I lost internet and called the 24hr tech support line and after waiting on hold for 10 minutes, was hung up on after someone answered (I could hear them breathing). This happened four times in a row.Desired Settlement: I would like my internet costs for this month refunded as I work from home and go to school online and this cost me time, money, and resulted in me failing two assignments that were due.

Business

Response:

Unfortunately

Davis Communications did experience the failure of at least 1 and maybe 2

pieces of equipment that took our internet service out.

Davis Communications has been my provider for over 10 years....with the changes this year I have had more contact and swapping boxes, etc and they have been the best! Jennifer in customer service as well as the office manager and all the employees have been the best! Thank you to all the staff for helping me watch TV :)
