Parking management at apartment complexes allows for the immediate tow of unauthorized vehicles by the contracted tow provider with pictures as authorization in some instancesThis includes vehicles parked illegally in handicapped spaces as well as in the case of a vehicle unlawfully parked within
feet of a fire hydrant or in a fire lane, or in a manner which interferes with an entrance to, or exit from, the private property. In this specific case I would need to know the vehicle make or plate number to review the photos of the tow. Weekend releases are done by appointment only due to limited staffing during non business hours weekends and holidaysIt is unfortunate that individuals may be inconvenienced after having their vehicles towed

Review: This tow commonly works under a predatory towing basis. They prey on vehicle owners and cruise parking lots to tow motorist with every intent to profit. They attached a "warning" sticker to my vehicle in a manner that obstructed my view as well as utilizing a sticker that adhered to the window with every intent to create a nuisance and something that was extremely difficult to remove. The day on the "warning" was the same date I was towed while parked in a visitor space and having a resident sticker attached to my car. They damaged my car which they visually repaired but I dint know what the effect yet of the damage will be since my car was either dropped or dragged putting it on or off the truck. They charged 270.00 for having my car less than 3 hours and took my car without any known immediate consent. My understanding is that a blanket authorization from a homeowners association does not give a tow company legal right to tow unless it is creating a safety hazard or parked illegally, which I wasn't. Each tow aside from safety violations must be in writing and summoned individually as well as an owner or agent must be present at the tow. Extortion is illegal. Also a tow storage yard must be within 10 miles from tow. Please provide with an accurate account of mileage because my gps said 13 miles, the directions I followed. My complaint here is that my car was vandalized, which I have filed a police report for. When my mother her accompanied me to pick up my car told the man at the yard that she researched his business and that they were predatory and it's not right and he had bad reviews he told her its "because of people like you!" I admit my mother was a bit upset but she left immediately for me to handle it because the situation wasn't going anywhere and this was my problem to deal with.Desired Settlement: I would like proof that my car violated any legal laws that justified being towed off of private property. I want photos of the car prior to towing and a copy of the permit they must have had from the police station giving them permission to take my vehicle. Lastly, documentation/ witness verification that there was a agent or owner present aside from the tow company since the legalality of this tow is in question I want a refund! . If I'm out of line I will accept responsibility.

Review: Predatory Towing Practices - Scamming people out of hard earned money by preying on the unsuspecting person. Improper signage and victimizing people.

WE went to a concert at Sleep Train Arena. We drove into a large parking lot where other vehicles were parked for the concert. We did not notice any signs or we would not have parked there. We came out of the concert to find our car had been towed. Only after realizing our car was gone did we notice a small sign stating that our car could be towed. Upon arrival at the tow company we found approximately 20 other people had their cars towed as well.

The workers make you wait outside and go in individually.

We took names, phone numbers and emails of everyone we were in line with and plan on pursuing action against the Predatory Tow practices of this company. We asked for a copy of the picture of our vehicle and the violation and a letter of authorization from the property owner requesting the towing company to tow our car. Davis Tow company refused to give the information and then after aggressively asking for the items - they gave us pictures and the letter. The company is in violation of the Vehicle Code number 22658 - A towing company shall not remove or commence the removal of a vehicle from private property without first obtaining the written authorization from the property owner or lessee, including an association of common interest development or an employee or agent therof, who shall be present at the time of the removal and verify the alleged violation. The owner of the property was not there and the Davis Towing Company only gave us a generic Tow away fax sheet (it had not been faxed because their was no evidence at the top of the form documenting a true fax). The insufficient fax letter also did not give a name and title or phone number for the owner of the property - who is KSP.

Another fact that this is Predatory Tow Practices is that cabs were waiting near the parking lot to pick people up to take them to the tow company. Obviously this is a huge money maker and a HUGE SET-UP to very unsuspecting people.

Also, upon retrieving our car, I pointed out that the tow company scratched the paint on my car. We had just purchased the car. The Tow truck worker was rude! We will file a claim against them and if it is not resolved internally - we will proceed with filing a small courts claim.

This concert which was supposed to be a fun, wonderful daddy/daughter date night turned out to be a nightmare to the total of $350.00.

I called the tow company today to ask the name of their owner - they would not give me the information. I asked who the owner was of KSP and they would not provide that information either.

I will pursue action against this company and I encourage anyone else in this same situation to stand up and fight against these practices.

Desired Settlement: $350.00 plus damages for scratched paint on the hood of my car.

Review: My truck was taken without permission and there was not tenant claim at all. I also made a call at 11:19pm to Davis tow about my situation and the person agree so I and him made arrangement for next day and pay $40.00. I was told to call in the morning to let them know when to tow it away. In the morning my truck was gone. Davis Tow took it away and said I had to pay $320 to get my truck. So I paid the $320.Desired Settlement: I want the refund of the $320

Business

Response:

Consumer failed to contact business before the tow. The vehicle was parked and obstructing a lane of travel. There was no agreement made prior to the tow. The towing fees will stand as charged.

Review: Company is towing vehicles without proper notice or warning. Also not follow the appropriate laws before removing a vehicle from location. Company then could not verify that the proper steps took place before removing the vehicle which states in the law That the tow to be valid they must submit to the client a signature of the person who authorized the towe. A time stamp pictures of the warning on the window another picture of the time staples picture and hour later. These documents could not be verified.Desired Settlement: I would I would like a full cash refund of the $350 that I was charged for this illegalto I believe this company is towing vehicles unlawfully for the for the profit of their company. I believe the way that they deal with their clients and how they spoke with me that they get by by strong arming people and cutting them off in their communication then hanging up the phone the property management has been notified of their actions and their Conduct about this matter

This business is predatory, rude, and horrible. They refused to tell me if they had my car, which was legally parked by the way at a business I visited. And once they finally did admit to having my car, then they made me wait two hours in the lot, then refused to open the gate until I signed papers voiding them from any future liabilities related to this illegal tow even though I already paid them $380. The man screamed and when an elderly customer stepped in to help, he cussed him out too and refused to give him his car. We called the police who simply wrote a statement and that was the end of that. Everything here is in violation of code, including threatening, harassing, and illegal towing from a location with no visible towing signs.

Review: The car in question was wrongfully towed. At my apartment complex I was issued a parking permit, and had it on the back dash of my car, visible. The car was towed with no notice, and I had to pay a 250 fee to get it back. There were pictures taken of the vehicle that are too far from the car to see where the permit was located, also flash was used which glares from the tint. I should be refunded the towing fee for having my parking permit in the car at the time of tow.Desired Settlement: 250 credited back to my credit card.
