This is almost laughable DC Movers NEVER dispatched any workers to the house after we spoke, so the part to which the company claim its'workers were dispatched for the move' is completely false By the way, how can they claim at 8:AM that their big truck is broken, and then, within minutes, called back to advise that they have an alternate truck to perform the move The question posed to MrA*** is this, if you had an alternative, why did you not dispatch that to begin with, as opposed to call the client and ask if they are willing to accept a ft truck for a bedroom move, whereby, I am being charged on an hourly basis? I do not see my way clear in this matter, whatsoever, and I expressed my sincere dissatisfaction to DC Movers A different moving company was paid an amount of $to have the move completed due to time constraint, therefore, I do not see a reason to pay DC Movers an amount of $for work which was never started to begin with And by the way, the contract which was signed also denoted that, DC Movers will be present with a ft truck at a specific time which was never adhered to It also stated that (if client calls to cancel) on the day of the move, their initial deposit is forfeited No such event occurred in this case: It was the provider (DC Movers) who initiated the call to state that they did not have the truck at hand nor could they meet the time line specified As such, the terms of the agreement was automatically nullified since they could not provide the service which I had paid. The only solution to this is for the company to refund in totality, the amount of $which they have charged to my card

I am rejecting this response because:
Why would I pay the additional $when you have already received a total of $when the original quote was for $At this point we can go to court as I have the necessary documentation from you that stars what the estimate was and that there was no prior communication prior tonyoubwrapping my items to the extent of a additional 483.00.Your company has other reviews of you doing the same thing to other customer and I also have other moving companies that quoted me around the same amount of what you quoted

Hi,Your $balance has not been paidWe cannot work with you if you aren't paying the balance from your moveWe have contacted the necessary authorities who deal with situations like thisIf you would like us to work with you then we will need a valid form of payment.Thank you,DC Pro Movers

After going back and forth, this will be our final response to your complaintAs stated before, you agreed to pay in the beginning and then refused to pay the final amount at the endBecause of this, your belongings were unloaded into your garage, the fastest way possible (and to avoid you having to pay for additional storage and re-delivery).
Regarding the treadmill, we've mentioned this a few times- it is not brokenIt has to be assembled to operateThe movers did not assemble it because you refused to pay for the timeThe contract states that it's an hourly rate, with no minimumIf you fail to pay the hourly rate for the time it takes them to re-assemble the furniture, it can't be re-assembled.
Regarding the claim you filled up- you mentioned that the desk and table are missing screwsWhen our movers disassemble the furniture, the hardware is given to the customer until the movers are ready to assemble the furniture at the destinationBecause you didn't pay for additional time, the movers were unable to re-assemble the furniture and therefore, never received the hardware backWe can either offer you $as a compensation or send one of our professionals to your home try to help reassemble some of the furniture and treadmill at $40/hr.
Please note that if you move your belongings into your home, after we've put them into your garage, we cannot take responsibility for any damages.
Thank you

I first want to say that it is not written on the contract the size of the truck that will be sentIt is also not part of any emails or correspondence between us and the customerBesides that, unfortunately, we had some issues with the truckAgain, we called the customer and they agreed to the smaller truck (with the understanding that they would not get charged for additional time)The customer then called back to cancelAt this point, I told them we would be sending a larger truck from a rental company near meThey agreedAfter this truck was sent out, the customer called back to cancelI explained that there would be a cancellation fee and they still chose to cancelWe did not send a larger truck at first because we did not have anymore company trucks leftWe prefer not to use a rental truck if not necessaryOnce the customer called back and said they would like to cancel, we did everything in our power to provide the services to them, even though our contract never stated the size of the truckAlso, regarding the time frame, our contract clearly states "DC PRO MOVERS reserves the right to reschedule pior delivery date due to bad weather or unforeseen events." Unfortunately, mechanical problems do sometimes occurWhen this happens, it typically causes a delay to the starting timeThe best I can due is increase the credit to $And if you need to move in the future, we'd be happy to give the customer a 10% discount on the total price of their next moveWe have a limited amount of moves per day and we reserved that spot for themIn addition, a large truck was rented and sent out to the customer's homeI apologize for any inconveniences but this is truly the best we can do

Amos received an estimate for hours of work and hour travel time, a total of $534, not including an 8% fuel surcharge and packing suppliesThis is was explained over the phone the first time you spoke to our company, as it always isMost of your correspondence with our company was done through
email in which it states more than once about packing supplies not being included and what must be wrapped for the moveOur confirmation email, in which you signed, even includes packing supplies price list attached so that you'd be aware of our prices for packing suppliesThe $135/hr rate that includes supplies isn't typically offered by someone who says they don't need any wrappings or packing materials from the moversHowever, on the day of the move, Avi offered it to you as a second option, when most of your belongings weren't prepared with the wrappings that we require.I'm not sure why you estimated 2-hours for the move when we sent you an estimate for hoursThe estimate also says that a bedroom is estimated at 4-hoursWe would assume that you were comfortable with that estimate, if you contracted us under those circumstances.Furthermore, A rental truck was used because we have a lease with their companyIn the Spring and Summer time we're super busy and we typically have more jobs than owned trucks- hence the rental truckYou said you asked the mover if he worked for us and he said he was called that morningMaybe that was a misunderstanding because he was called to do the job, because he as one of our employeesThis is why we have his phone number :) We don't call strangers every morning asking if they can help us move our customers. We're very sorry about the bungy cord- we wish you would have informed us about that but we're more than happy to send you a new onePlease let us know if we can send it to the address that we moved you to.Regarding the dresser- it was moved and tightened afterward- please re-checkThe bed was disassembled and reassembled by the movers but the headboard was not disassembled by the movers- it was moved in one piece (I think that's the un-tightened piece you're referring to).All in all, you were quoted hours and hour travel time for your moveThe move was completed in hours and hour travel timeBecause you were unsatisfied with the service, Avi authorized a discount of $I hope you'll take another look at the situation from another point of viewYour move was completed in less time than estimated with a bit of supplies, fuel surcharge, and a $discount to compensate you for not being satisfiedPlease let us know about the bungy cord

I am rejecting this response because: As stated in the previous emails - I was charged full price - even though some of it was charged fraudulently, they did not honor their contract, they broke my treadmill Its outrageous that they are offering to charge me to reassemble the furniture that I have already paid them to do I have sent photos etc documenting my complaint against this dishonest and unscrupulous business I hope that other consumers can read this and be warned And I hope the Revdex.com has the integrity to actually assist in solving this despite the fact that businesses pay to be membersI will only accept the fixing or replacement of the treadmill that they broke and a refund of of the monies paid since they not only did not abide by their contract and damaged furniture, walls and doors I have many additional photos I can send upon request and sent some previously

Firstly, the inventory list that was provided to us was not entirely accurateAlthough a couch was taken off, smaller items (that weren't wrapped) were added on the day of the moveOur sales staff tells all of our customers that we provide free blankets for wooden furniture but packing supplies
(boxes, bubble wrap, plastic covers, etc) are not included and would be charged separatelyAdditionally, our confirmation email clearly states the specific furniture/fragile items that need to be wrapped and a packing supplies price list is attachedThis email was read and signed at the time that the move was scheduledYou weren't present for the move but had someone else there to superviseOur foremen explained everything to the person who was presentMaybe there was some miscommunication between them and youRegarding the time, the contract was initialed when the movers began and again when the move was completeI understand that you didn't want the items to be wrapped but this is our company policy which was explained in words and writing prior to being movedAdditionally, someone else authorized it on your account. On the day of the move, you were honored a $discountA an extra $was offered to you, since that's what your husband had requestedUnfortunately we cannot extend any additional discounts

Dear ***,I'm sorry for any inconveniences DC Pro Movers may have caused youI appreciate you bringing this to my attentionRegarding the packing supplies- our emails clearly state which furniture pieces have to be wrapped and provide a packing supplies price list attachedIf you thought our
prices were expensive, you could have supplies your own materialsAlso, the quality of the supplies we use are much better than Home DepotOur main concern is to make sure that your belongings are very well protectedRegarding the moving time, it was icey and snowy outside and both locations had elevators and there was walking distance from the loading dock to the elevator and to your doorsAlso, the protection and caution that we use towards your furniture (while wrapping them) takes a bit longer than other companies as wellI answered my phone as a locksmith because I work as a locksmith on the side and you called my personal cell phoneAlso, sending out a moving truck full of someone's belongings vs a 4xSUV is very differentOn the same day, I had many other people call me and request our last minute moving services because their moving company cancelled on them due to bad weather conditionsI refused those jobs and when you called and said you needed to move that day, I took a risk and sent out the truckYou mentioned that you weren't given an itemized list of the packing supplies usedIf you want, I can send you the list of everything that was usedAdditionally, I'd be happy to refund your card $to solve this matterAgain, I'm sorry for the frustration this move may have caused youI wish you would have contacted us before going to ***I'm happy to solve this with you directly

From: DC Pro Movers Date: Thu, Apr 23, at 10:AMSubject: Response to complaint #***To: *** *** First I'd like to apologize on behalf of DC Pro Movers for any inconveniences we may have caused youOn the day of the move, our large
truck had some technical problemsInstead of cancelling your move, I called the customer to inform them that we would be sending them a smaller truckThey agreed to thisThey then called me back saying that they didn't want a smaller truck and would like to cancel the servicesI informed them multiple times that if a second trip is needed that they wouldn't be charged for that timeA few minutes later, I called the customer back to inform that they I would be able to rent a large truck but because the movers were already on their way (per their initial request and agreement on), there would be a small delayThe customer decided to cancel the move anyhowThe customer was informed of the cancellation fee by email (which they signed) and again over the phone when they confirmed that they didn't want the services anymore. At this time, I'd be happy to credit the account $but this is the best I can doI still have to pay my workers who went on on the job, per their request.Thank you

Date: Tue, Dec 6, 2016 at 12:38 PMSubject: Re: [redacted] Rebuttal ([redacted])To: [redacted] <[redacted]>Hi,I think there was a miscommunication between us when I called you. I called you to try to resolve the issue and said that if you wanted to settle this over the phone we can tell the Revdex.com that the problem has been resolved. I apologize if that's not what you understood from our conversation. However, the best we can do would be to credit your account $89. Please let me know if you'd like us to issue this credit. Thank you.Avi P

'm sorry that [redacted]'s move didn't go the way she wanted but I'd like to explain what happened that day:We arrived at [redacted]'s house in the morning and provided her with a revised estimate because her move was larger than we anticipated. We estimated about 8.5 hours of labor and $350 for packing...

materials. [redacted] called the office and said she was sorry that she had more things to move and asked if there was anyway we could help out with the price. I told her that I could reduce the packing supplies to an estimated $190 (a 40% discount) but that the hourly rate couldn't be discounted. She agreed to the terms and the movers began their work. When the movers arrived at [redacted]'s new home she tried to get additional discounts. I authorized an additional $100 discount. After much complaining, she agreed to charge her card $600  gave us her boyfriend's card to charge another $300. This was declined. We told her she could pay the rest in case or put the balance on her card but she insisted she didn't have the money. After much back and forth of nickel-and-diming us for more discounts (1 hr and 45 mins later of charging, recharging, phone calls back and forth) our movers were very tired and told her that without proper payment, they would be unloading her stuff into the garage but they wouldn't be able to stay to reassemble the furniture without being paid for the time. Regarding the ($5,000??!!) treadmill, we have pictures of it showing that it was beaten up before we moved it. Unfortunately, [redacted] doesn't allow me to attach this photo. After [redacted] posted this review, I called her to try and work with her. I offered to come the following morning to help move the rest of the stuff from the garage into the house and reassemble the furniture, at no extra cost. While speaking to her, she also mentioned the "broken" treadmill. I asked her if she re-assembled and she said she "not yet", she just tried to plug it in as is...no wonder it seemed broken. I told her I'd gladly help her with that treadmill when I came. Five minutes after we got off the phone, she text messaged (blackmailed) me that if I don't give her $750 back she would keep her 1 start review. Also, in her review she mentions that we charged her an additional $1,100 without her authorization. I'm not sure what she's referring to since her move cost a total of $1,084 and we have signed credit card slips for the charges. At the end of the day, she received a 40% discount on the materials and an additional $100 on top of that. My company was upfront and honest from the beginning.

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: after the company received my Revdex.com complaint they called me and told me they would only work with me IF I told the Revdex.com that I had made a mistake and I had never worked with DC Pro Movers. This type of unethical behavior is exactly what started this entire process. The offer of $89 is entirely unacceptable and offensive that he expects me to be lie in order to get my money back that he extorted from me in the first place by threatening to take me to court.
