This job was completed on July 13th Our first call/concern from the homeowner was in June Please note that is approximately (4) years after original installation Please note this is a flat back pitched roof that pitches back towards the main houseSince the completion of this roof, the customer had placed/installed wood planking/decking on top of this roof to create a walkwayThis GAF manufacturer product is not designed to install any type of flooring/decking on top of itPlease see manufactures specs on this Ruberoid product (page 35) http://www.gaf.com/Commercial_Roofing_Systems/Ruberoid_Modified_Bitumen_SBS_Memb... This homeowner is a very good customer of ours and it is our intentions to keep him happyWe have been out to meet with the homeowner on (3) different occasionsOn one occasion, the owner of Deegan Roofing, Brien Deegan, met the homeowner as well in an attempt to rectify this altered roof situationHowever, the homeowner has a very busy schedule, wants to be home when our Ruberoid roof specialist/technician goes, and is only available on SaturdaysOur Ruberoid roof specialist/technician does not work on Saturdays At this time, we are attempting to arrange a convenient day and time for both the homeowner and our Ruberoid roof specialist/technicianPlease have the homeowner contact us with a date and time Monday thru Friday when our Ruberoid roof specialist/technician can meet with him to do additional flashing work (not included on original contract) Again, this is a flat back pitched roof that pitches back towards the main house and what the homeowner has placed on top of this product is not recommended by the manufacturer We will wait to hear from the homeowner Thank you

[redacted] contacting Deegan Roofing March 13th to assess a leak he was havingWe met with him on March 18th After reviewing the leak, we provided him with an estimate for the least expensive route with no guaranteeThe work was then completed on March 21st in the amount of $plus sales tax [redacted] then contacted us on October 22nd (approximately months later) to say he is experiencing a leak in the same areaAs a customer courtesy (no charge), Deegan Roofing sealed more areas with a sealant the very next day in an attempt to again temporarily patch this areaAgain please note, there was no guarantee with the original work performed [redacted] then called our office on December 9th with the same complaint (months later and a total of approximately months since the original work was completed)We provided an estimate for additional work needed (also the least expensive route) for $which also took into consideration the previous work we have done for him [redacted] did not like this solution and wanted to speak to someone regarding thisWe then sent our representative out TWICE in addition to multiple phone calls to [redacted] attempting to rectify the situationAt this point (now the end of February to beginning of March 2015), Mr Deegan did go away for weeks and he did have a medical procedure soon after returningPlease also take into consideration that we are seasonal and we were not working due to the extreme low temperatures, snow and iceHowever, despite these circumstances, Mr Deegan sent a representative out AGAIN to meet [redacted] on Friday March 13th at 11:am to go over ALL of his concerns and assess with him exactly what needed to be done We sent [redacted] an estimate on March 16th for $(again, the least expensive route) which also took into consideration the previous work we have done for himHowever, if [redacted] would like us to refund his money and consider the (2) additional estimates provided to be null and void, we will be happy to do so We have provided [redacted] with exceptional customer service and have gone above and beyond for him (met and spoke with him numerous times!)Time is moneyWe await to hear what he would like us to do

MR [redacted] ORIGINALLY MET WITH THE CUSTOMER MRS [redacted] ON APRIL IN AN ATTEMPT TO FIX ONE OF THE MANY LEAKSTHE REASON FOR THIS IS SO THAT THE CUSTOMER COULD PROLONG THE REPLACEMENT OF THE ENTIRE ROOF UNFORTUNATEY THIS TEMPORARY REPAIR DID NOT WORK AND THE ROOF IS AT THE END OF ITS LIFEWE EXPLAINED THIS TO THE CUSTOMER HOWEVER THEY WERE NOT SATISFIED WITH THAT ANSWER IN ORDER TO KEEP THE CUSTOMER HAPPY, WE REFUNDED THEM 100% IN THE AMOUNT OF $ON JULY 24TH (CHECK NUMBER ***) AND AGAIN, RECOMMEND A FULL ROOF REPLACEMENT WHEREAS THE ROOF AT THIS ADDRESS CAN NO LONGER ATTEMPT TO BE REPAIRED

We hired Deegan roofing to install a brand new roof and brand gutter system in February and they did not perform the services outlined in our contracts with themFurthermore their poor workmanship caused tremendous interior damage less than four months after the roof was installed We have contacted them many times to give them the opportunity to fix the issues and they did not do so The roof did not pass the inspection by the town of South Orange and in addition the town of South Orange has issued violations to Deegan Roofing - We had a leak days after work completed, gave them the opportunity to fixThey told us they fixed yet we now have a terrible leak, substantial water damage in that exact same spot caused by their work and that they claimed to have fixedWe now also have mold that has been caused - We contacted Deegan immediately after they finished and told them that the flat roofs were not recoated at all as per our contract They refused to remediate and we

Prior to having my family room painted, I hired Deegan to fix a leak in my roofOnce the job was completed and passage of time required to insure the problem was resolved I than had the painter proceedAbout one month later the leak returned and a small section of the ceiling was damagedI informed Deegan and his roofers returned and now there is no further damageHowever, I feel that he is responsible to repair this area which measures about inches squareI have made several attempts and numerous phone callsThe closest I have been on resolving this issue is a return of one of the roofers and taking a picture of the damageAs of this writing all of my attempts to repair this newly painted section of the ceiling have been in vainAlso, I have sent emails with a picture showing the damageDeegan Roofing has not displayed a proper level of customer serviceThank you for your considerations and support

A contract for services was signed 07/02/to have roofing repairs completed following inspection and estimate by their employee named ,June No indication or notice that the work was ever completed, followed by several phone messages and unanswered calls to inquire The contract was to seal and replace shingles on the roof and finally in a return visit in September (this week) they tried to sell $service that was never agreed upon in the original contract
After no response from Deegan Roofing, Brian Deegan, I have had to contract another roofer to the unsatisfactory work of Deegan My check was cashed and the work was not done in a satisfactory or timely manner as stipulated in the signed contract

In August 2015, Deegan roofing replaced my roofWhen they replaced the gutters, they pitched them towards the ends of the house, and left a gap between the gutter and the rooflineThis gap does not have aluminum siding behind itIt is only Sheetrock I was not told about this gap after the roof was replacedI should have been told about the gap and that it was only wallboard exposed to the elements.Since then, animals have broken through the wall board and gotten into my atticSince there are holes there, rain enters my house every room stormShortly after the roof was replaced in 2015, I signed an agreement with Deegan to add metal flashing in this gap at the front of the house, Since that’s where the animals had broken intoNow the animals have done the same thing at the rear of the house, and water is entering the house againI have contacted Deegan multiple times, many times without anybody answering the phone, other times being told that they have no idea I’m a previous c

I called Deegan Roofing due to a leak in my roof that affects the kitchen's ceiling each time it rainsOne of the owners came to inspect the roofHe quoted the repairs and also quoted a clean up of the roofApproximately a week later a worker came to fix the problemHe stated he found the problem and fixed itAfter two weeks, in a rainy day the kitchen's ceiling dripped again in the same areaI called Deegan Roofing again and they sent the same worker a week after the callThe person protested about the low price the Deegan's owner charge meHe also stated he would rather give me the money back instead of fixing the leak againThe worker stated the leak was fixed and he leftI complained to the owner about the bad behavior of his employeeAfter a month of the first call I have the same problemI called Deegan Roofing multiple times stating that if you do not come back to fix the roof, I want my money backThey never answered

Deegan did our roof and it started to leak...fixed that and it started to leak AGAIN Now, they will not return calls Whatever you do, if you like your sanity, do not call them EVER!

My experience with this company was polarizing to say the least Contracted with them for a new roof as well as siding Made the decision based on their history of work doing the roof of most buildings (residential and commercial) in my area Roofing professional and part owner was fantastic The siding work is an eyesore and frustration from which this business will not recover in my opinion
The roof work was flawless Picked the product and color and easily scheduled the appointment Done in a day, just like they promised Other than leaving a hole in my roof from a satellite dish I didn't want, it was perfect They did come back and patch the roof at no cost and admitted they misunderstood what was to be done I'm not perfect either and they fixed the error Did have some minor dry wall damage in the house from the leak but nothing in life is perfect I was okay giving them a pass on this
The siding What a mess First, I picked a siding color to match the shingles on the roofAll products picked at the same time After roof was installed but not the siding yet, they call to tell me they cant do the siding in the color or material I wanted Reasons given were incompatibility More specifically, they couldn't do the color I wanted because it didn't come in the material I wanted Shouldn't they have have known this before I signed the contract and put in a deposit? Shouldn't they have known this before I put on roof on my house with matching colors? I was dumbfounded by this error Ultimately we settled on color fairly close to the original and a material I didn't care for
Then the installation The absolute worse thing I can say about a vendor working on your home is that they do the job they wanted to do, and not the job you paid them to do So many complaints that its impossible to list them all here is a sampling Seams lined up, caps not installed, window work that was done after siding installed after we agreed to do it first and "side" to the windows", sloppy use of caulk or complete lack thereof on seams and nail holes, pieces not firmly attached, forcing pieces to fit into corners showing wear on the thin metal they used It is a horror show
Yes, I complained They came back multiple times An extra nail here or there most mostly an endless conversation about how they thought they did what I asked or that I didn't appreciate how they needed to do it I know what I asked for, I laid out my concerns and they agreed to execute the agreed upon plan for a fee In the end, I got the job they wanted to do, with materials I didn't want and a process that leaves me highly motivated to ensure no one uses them for siding services again
In conclusion, their roofing reputation is well earned Professional, timely and accurate Avoid the other services at all costs You work too hard for your money to let someone else spend it on your most important asset

Please note that we, Deegan Roofing, have hired an attorneyOur attorney has been in touch with the building inspector *** *** of South Orange TownshipWe have made several attempts to go out and address any concerns with the
homeownersHowever, the homeowner refuses to allow us on the propertyThis can be confirmed with the building inspector
The issue/damage that this homeowner is having is from the flat roof that was not replaced therefore is not under any warrantyAs clearly stated in the contract (see attached), the flat roofs were to be coated, not replacedThe building inspector was not aware of this until we brought it to his attentionWe then scheduled a date to meet the inspector at the propertyHowever, the homeowner refused AGAIN
Please note, this is an old home that ** *** *** *** ownWe, Deegan Roofing, explained to them that a lot of work is going to be neededDeegan Roofing also provided an estimate to replace siding on the front dormer, back dormer and side walls (see attached estimate) which are areas that are also having issuesHowever, the homeowner did not have this work done
As of today’s date, our lawyer *** *** ** *** * *** Law Offices is awaiting for a hearing date with *** *** Construction Board of Appeals We at Deegan Roofing have made numerous attempts to address any issues just as we have done in the pastPlease see attached email from the homeowner dated May 10th thanking us and noting how professional our company wasDeegan Roofing went above and beyond what was listed in the contract at NO ADDITIONAL COST to keep ** *** *** *** happy

I interviewed five companies before deciding on Deegan, and I am delighted with my selectionI did not need to rip off the existing roof, though three of the companies said I had to do thatDeegan suggested powerwashing, and then reroofing, so that the lichen could be removed before the new roof went onThey came and did a good jobI did have a few nails in my driveway, and got a flat, but Deepan reimbursed me

What the customer is not explaining to the Revdex.com is that their roof is older and we provided the customer with TWO estimates; one to repair the roof in an attempt to buy some more life however with no warrantyIf this attempt did not work, the other estimate provided was to
replace the entire roof(see attached copy)
We clearly explained to the customer that there was no warranty and reminded her that we provided her with an estimate for a full roof replacement if the repairs did not work
Deegan Roofing will refund this customer even though we do not feel any refund is due (no warranty on this repair) in an effort to maintain good customer service

They came out on Sunday early to avoid
any chance for rain,
a roof I had was leaking, they did mold remediation, replaced wood damaged, showed me photos -and even after I accidentally okd charcoal roof they let me get hickorythe foreman was awesome, guys were awesome and *** was professional and courteous*** was wonderful and *** the foreman was awesome!
I would highly recommend Deegan Roofing and I have given them another job already ;)

This customer's roof was completed on 10/28/Prior to any work being done, ** *** *** *** showed me all the leaks that they had and all the sheetrock stains in the house from the leakage (approximately stains)Also please note that ** *** had a lot of other roofing
contractors out to his home and had nothing but negative things to say about them all (gave me an ear full at the time I gave him the initial estimate)
Roof was completed and yes, ** *** did have a few shingles blow off during several heavy wind storms. But please note both times, Deegan Roofing came out immediately and corrected the issue
** *** also said MY worker told him that we did not flash his chimney properly(This is a lie) My worker he is referring to ***) has been working for me for over years and never have we had an issue with a customer making such a statement about him
Roof was installed correctly up to state standardsIf ** *** has any more issues or concerns relating to the manufacturer's warranty, we will be more than happy to set up an appointment with the manufacturer representative from *** (This homeowner received a *** shingle)
Please also note that this roof has to settle(it is a newer installation) I'd also like to mention that ** *** said that shingles blew off his roofWhen our technician got to his home, there were only PARTIAL shingles that blew off and there were nail holes in these partial shingles(our installations include extra nailing in the cold tar area of the shingle) Again, the roof was installed up to state standards
I'd like to conclude by saying ** *** has other leaks/issues with his home that have nothing to do with the roof job that we completed and we have submitted proposals for this additional workKindly find a copy of that proposal attached

I would definitely recommend Deegan Roofing They installed a roof on our home last October Complete rip off and reinstall Did a great job and quickly Over the winter a few shingles came off on the hip which is because the shingles need heat to seal When I called their office they responded immediately and came out as promised and reinstalled the few shingles that came off Very satisfied with this company Second roof on our home from them and they also installed a roof on the home we sold years ago *** was a pleasure to talk with in their office and always returned my calls Quality company
