Dear Ms. [redacted], This letter is in response to the complaint # [redacted] submitted by [redacted]. By way of background, Defenders, Inc.  DBA Protect Your Home is an Indiana corporation that specializes in selling residential alarm systems. We have been an ADT authorized dealer since 1998 that sells and installs ADT monitored security systems. Once the security system is installed, the contract is then purchased, billed, serviced and maintained by ADT.   In summary, Mr. [redacted] had two main concerns; cancellation of his alarm service agreement within a promised six month money back guarantee and Visa rebate redemption process.   I spoke to Mr. [redacted] in depth about his account and his concerns outlined in his complaint. The six month money back promise is in regards to service or installation related concerns. Basically, if we are unable to repair a technical issues within three service appointment, the customer is eligible for a full refund within the first six months of service. Customer satisfaction is not considered an eligible reason to be released. Since I was not at the installation appointment, I cannot confirm or deny how the technician promoted this guarantee. To avoid further escalation and as a courtesy to the customer, I allowed a release from contract. The system removal was completed on March 30, 2017. Mr. [redacted] was satisfied with this resolution. Mr. [redacted] contacted me about a debit out of his account around the time of the cancellation. I requested that he contact ADT as ADT handles the billing. ADT can take 30 days to process a cancellation request. I apologize if he was inconvenienced during this process, but I appreciate the opportunity to address his concerns and help come to a resolution.   Sincerely,     Crystal F[redacted] Customer Loyalty Representative Protect Your Home ADT Authorized Premier Provider E: [email protected]

Dear Ms. [redacted], This letter is in response to the complaint # [redacted] by [redacted]. In summary, Ms. [redacted] states that she was sold on a rate of $27.99 for the alarm system but temporally signed up for a rate of $52.99. She was under the impression that she could easily downgrade to the $27.99 but discovered that she could not do so because she did not have a landline. She states she tried to call in and cancel but was advised she was outside the cancellation window although she was in seven days of her installation. She said she was never provided a copy of the contract and was not aware it was only three business days. She would like this contract cancelled without penalty and have all funds returned. Ms. [redacted] contacted Protect Your Home on December 14, 2016 in regards to an ADT monitored alarm system. She paid $104.94 for the installation fee and scheduled the installation for January 9, 2017. Upon installation, a contract was signed for $52.99 which included cell uplink, PULSE, and ADT’s limited extended warranty. In order to qualify for the $27.99 rate, a compatible landline must be installed. According to our recent conversations with Ms. [redacted], she advised that she did not have one. She contacted Protect Your Home on January 14, 2017 to cancel. She was advised that she was outside her cancellation window. The cancellation window is explained in the contract and Notice of Cancellation form that should have been sent to her after the installation was completed via email. There is no email address on record, so it appears she did not receive these important documents. A downgrade was offered, but since there is no landline, a lowered rate of $27.99 cannot be honored. As a courtesy, Protect Your Home honored her request to cancel on January 17, 2017. A system pull is currently scheduled for January 25, 2017 and a full refund will be processed accordingly. I apologize if Mr. [redacted] was inconvenienced during this process, but I appreciate the opportunity to address her concerns and help come to a resolution. Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Read their response.  All their response states is that they're an authorized ADT dealer since 1998 and that the customer loyalty associate added notes to my account.  That is all they do: add notes to your account and read those notes back to you.  There's no resolution being offered here.  If anything, they appear to be passing the buck to ADT.  ADT refused any accountability when I approached them, stating their dealers work independently. As I stated previously, the only acceptable resolution would have been the removal of their equipment and a full refund.  They never complied.  Consequently, I pursued the matter through a claim with the credit card company I used to make the purchase.  My credit card company reviewed my claim and all the supporting documentation and ruled in my favor.  I received my refund.  As far as I am concerned, the matter is closed. However, I do not want my Revdex.com complaint noted as "resolved".  The company did nothing at all to resolve my complaint.  I never received even a phone call from them regarding the complaint or to attempt to resolve my issues.Regards,[redacted]

letter is in response to the Complaint #[redacted]. By way of background, Defenders INC. Summation of Complaint: Owner of complaint requests account be considered “paid in full.” Acknowledgement of Resolution: In regards to Complaint #[redacted], we have carefully reviewed the matter and bring forth the following recommendations. The customer called ADT and cancelled 7/9/15 with an effective date of 8/8/15. The customer was advised by ADT that if he cancelled he would owe the balance. The customer told ADT that we have the wrong phone number on file and he would not update it with ADT. This account was a cancelled due to non-pay and was not put in our system to call until 12/11/15. On Jan 29th we left a voice mail and we also spoke to the customer. Our escalation representative did have the opportunity to review events with ADT Monitoring Center and it reflects they did contact Mr. Iskandar to advise of the alarm events on January 9, 2015 and May 3, 2015. We also show the account holder did pay his termination cost on March 3rd for the full amount of $ 890.94 however our escalation representative did authorize to refund half of what he paid to the collection agency. The account holder would need to allow time to processing to reflect on his credit card.    We apologize for any inconvenience this matter has caused. By way of background, Defenders INC. Summation of Complaint: Owner of complaint alleges “deceptive” sales technique as a means to secure new business. Acknowledgement of Resolution: In regards to Complaint #[redacted] we have carefully reviewed the matter and bring forth the following recommendations. Our records indicate that the client was provided $1,261.00 in equipment credit. Per the previously installed equipment, he has exhausted all credit incentive. To retain his business, he was also provided on 10/5, an additional $100 credit. Client states that the manner in which he was offered $100 Visa gift card was deceptive, and under false solicitation. However, a $100 Visa gift card is an incentive via promotional advertisement, and in no way should be falsely perceived as given due to client having undergone a home invasion. Via voice confirmation, we have reviewed the call in which both the sales rep and sales manager reference the $100 Visa as part of a promo, and can be considered reimbursement for the cost of installation. The gift card was processed on 11/4, and client should allow 14 business days for receipt. Unfortunately, our office is in no position to confirm or negate any private conversation between client and service technician. Therefore, the issue of camera compatibility cannot be addressed here. We will provide a small incentive to offset any costs the client may incur if they decide to upgrade system or install additional equipment. The additional incentive included ($100 Cash Back Credit) may take up to 30 business days to fully process. Concern in regards to additional equipment installed and/or clarity regarding current equipment, we ask that client immediately contact our Customer Care Department (800 689 9554). We would like the opportunity to promptly address this matter and provide feasible resolute.     Further Resolution: We have record of all of client’s calls: 9/22-original sales call, 9/25-wanted to cancel prior to install because he was told by “outside” party not to use contractors w/o Honeywell Systems, 9/25- concerned with online reviews and not having enough equipment, allowed to max out equipment credit and given a $100 cash back to keep from cancelling, 9/26 install complete, 9/28- calls in regarding a promo for free cameras and zero activation, 10/7-called in regarding a refund (this refund posted to client’s account on 10/15). We have requested that the client contact our Customer Care Department in regards to the matter of system compatibility. This was communicated via our prior Revdex.com resolution offer. To date, client has not complied with this request. We cannot address this matter until client schedules a time to trouble shoot the system.
