Denali Real Estate Reviews (47)

We had an amazing experience renting from Denali they were always quick to address any concerns. Dennis and Mike were always in contact from the start of our lease checking in. Their online payments are easy and reliable and we were always able to count on them to fix any maintenance issues with easy online maintenance requests. If we are ever looking for another rental we will be calling Denali!

This is the first time we have had to use a property management company to rent a house. With Denali Real Estate they made the paper work process very easy to do. We haven't moved in yet but so far everything has been smooth process.

Review: I was advised on 7/21/14 that a check was being mailed to me to refund my deposit as agreed. The check has never arrived and the owner refuses to return my emails, phone calls, and texts. I called/emailed on 7/28, 7/30, and 8/8. On 8/8 the office answered my call and said the check had been mailed "last week" and would have the owner call me. I called back today on 8/11 and was told the owner was too busy to investigate why I had not received my check. Per my contract and state law, I should have received my deposit the week of July 21st. I believe this business is deliberately avoiding me in an attempt to retain my deposit.Desired Settlement: I would like my deposit refunded as per the agreement asap.

Response:

The deposit was returned to the tenant as required. We sent it to the tenant via certified mail but apparently it was lost in the mail as we do not have any record of it being delivered by the [redacted]. We do have record/copy of the certified mailing along with the date it was mailed. Since we do not show the refund check was cashed by the tenant, we cancelled the original check and reissued a check. This was also sent out via certified mail and the tenant confirmed yesterday that it was received via certified mail. We do have the documentation of the original and second mailings along with all tenant move out documentation if that is needed. Please contact me at ###-###-#### or at [redacted] if you have any additional questions.Thank you,[redacted]

I am still waiting for my "lost check" too. Mine didn't come certified though - it was a click N ship label - which was handwritten (those are printed) - I had to contact the Attorney General's office to even get a response.

I have been having an on going issue with Denali Realistate since I have moved out of the home. My move out date was 11/30/15. I called and scheduled a walk through for Monday 11/30/15. A walk through never occurred, and Rich the property manager never returned my calls. I continued to call the office every few days to see what was going on. I was informed by Dennis that I would receive my deposit back with 21 days and that was on 12/3/15. I have called the office on 12/30/15, 1/6/16, 1/11/16, 1/15/16, 1/20/16, 1/25/16. I continously get told that they would email Rich the property manager. I had received only text messages from Rich, never able to reach him by phone. I was informed that he would need to contact the office or the broker for my deposit. I have also requested a copy of the damages that are claimed I had done to the property. I have yet to receive a response for this as well. I do not think that it is right for me to have to wait 2 months after to try and find out what is going on with my deposit. I have been in compliance with them throughout my lease for the past two years and my payments were always on time.

I will send you a private message - going through the same thing. My check has been "lost in the mail" but they don't respond to me either. I did contact the Attorney General's office and got the message that it was "lost"

Really bad customer service, I tried to rent a property with them. first I make an appoinment to see a house, the person who was going to show me the house never show up, make me wait 1 hour till I called the office " and they forgot to call me and cancel the appointment " I drove for 1 hour for them to tell me they just forgot about me. the good thing was I was available to see the house the person living there let me in. love the place, fill up the application ask them to confirm when the have received the application never call me back 5 days later I called them and they still reviewing the application they told they were going to call me back never did, I called 2 days after we talked, they told me some one else was first trying to lease this property, I told them to please let me know whats happening so I keep looking for my new place. called them 4 times 4 different days ! always said let me take a message and she will call you back she never did. finally I have the chance to talk to the person in charge of the property and she told I didn't make 3 times the rent, I just laugh and told her if she reviewed my application she said we denied you already. I more than 3 times the rent of that property ! anyways I love that place my fiance love that place and I really wanna get it for her, send an email 2 days a go to please reviewed my application, the house still in the market. no answer back.

IF I HAVE A PROPERTY I WILL NEVER ASK THIS PEOPLE TO MANAGE AND NO BODY WILL LET THEM DO IT.

Thanks for all your help.

I will never ask these people to manage anything they are so horrible dont take my word for it

It has been a constant battle with the property company to fix any appliances or to do maintenance work since the first day I moved in. The owner of my property had canceled the contract with Denali with an end date of July 15th, however they stopped providing services in June. The disintegration of the relationship between the owner and property management team has now left my roommate and I scrambling to find documents/signatures/etc. to make sure that we are not held liable for Denali's poor management (stop-gap maintenance fixes that affected the infrastructure of the property, missing deposit money, etc.)

This process has been a wake up call about placing trust in businesses especially when the liability on the line is so high. This company has acted unscrupulously by "losing" paper work, not acknowledging money paid, failing to tell the homeowner I had a dog that she would not have agreed to on the premises, and now have left me anxious that I might have to assume some financial liability because they have skirted the system. Many of the discussions I had with the company were over the phone and I will now be cognizant to get everything documented, dated, signed, maybe even fingerprinted due to the company's lack of investment in anything over than their bottom line.

I asked for 16 months to get a copy of my "move-in" paperwork, but be glad you didn't get help with repairs because Mike owns the maintenance company. They lost my check too.

Today is 3/27/16. On 1/4/16 I submitted a request to have some items fixed in the home that we are renting. Mostly for a sink that is leaking from faucet to under the sink. after 2 months of waiting for a call back, I finally called in to their office. I spoke to (i believe Michael VV.) he said he would get with the owners of the property to solve this matter. It has now been another month and STILL no call back or email from him. I can only do so much to stop water damage. After reading other reviews about these guys, I can see I will probably never get this done. I guess I will just do it myself since they are not competent enough to get the job done.

And wow, look at the other review where he is going back and forth with an ex client. not good customer service at all. If I could rate them -000 I would. I guarantee they are going to try and get for the water damage, that will NOT happen. STAY AWAY FROM DENALI REAL ESTATE AT ALL COST!!!

Please contact the Attorney General's office.

I will private message you but wen through this as well. Aside from all the maintenance issues they still haven't returned my deposit.

I've been a tenant of Denali Real Estate for almost 3 years I just purchased a home it has been a great experience. If anything ever happened with the property Denali and there team were quick to handle any situation. Most Importantly they were able to help me as I had to terminate my lease early it was a smooth transition and I was able to still keep my deposit. Id highly recommend Denali Real Estate to any of my family members or friends.

Denali Real Estate is an amazing property management group. I have been renting properties from them for over 3 years now. The staff is incredible and they are a joy to work with. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to rent a home. They make the renting process very simple.

Review: We rented a house from Denali Real Estate in 2014, lease ended June 30, 2015. I called the office to set up a final walkthrough with the property manager, which was scheduled for Wednesday, July 1st, 2015. My husband took time off of work to meet the prop manager, who never showed up. When I called the office, the staff was unable to get a hold of him to find out if he was on his way or what the deal was. My husband then ended up taking the keys to the office. We requested a full refund of our security deposit at that time, in writing, which was acknowledged by a member of the office staff. It has been 18 business days and we have not received our refund, or an itemized list of deductions, as per the AZ Landlord Tenant Act. I called the office on the 14th business day, and was told our check was being mailed out that day. I called yesterday, 7/23, spoke with the bookkeeper and was told she had no clue as to what was going on with our refund as she does not have access to that account (only the broker can issue the refund check apparently). As of today, 7/24, we have received nothing. There were absolutely NO damages from us upon move out, the terms of the lease were met in full, and we turned in all keys and openers. No one has communicated anything to us as to where this check is or why we have not received it yet. All I've been told is "I will send an email to him right now voicing your concerns." We have contacted an attorney and are prepared to file a lawsuit should this not get resolved ASAP.Desired Settlement: A full refund of ALL deposits.

Response:

The complaint filed was from tenants that recently moved out of one of the rental homes we manage. The tenants are correct that they expected the walk-through to be completed on July 1st and on my calendar I had it was to take place July 2nd. I'm not sure how the mix-up occurred. I completed the move-out inspection on July 2nd. There were a few very minor items noted at the home on their move-out checklist and they did a very good job of cleaning and preparing the home after they moved out. There was very little, if any, normal wear and tear. There were two minor items the owner insisted, against my counsel, to deduct from the tenant's security deposit which totaled $100.00. The tenants called our office this past week and indicated they had not received their security deposit in the mail. I spoke to them July 23rd and indicated I would issue a stop payment on the check mailed out and print another check for them. I offered to meet them on Saturday at my office to provide them with the new check, deposit itemization and move out checklist for their records. We met today, July 25th, and we had a discussion about the deductions, answered their questions and discussed other items relating to their tenancy. I believe this item was handled to their satisfaction based on our discussion.I would also add that they were very good tenants and wonderful people. I would welcome an opportunity to rent to them again.

In addition to what you are already doing please contact the attorney general's office. Sorry you are going through this - I am too.

The staff at Denali Real Estate has been very helpful and easy to work with. They also were extremely understanding and willing to work with me when I informed them that I would have to terminate my lease months before it actually expired. They scheduled agents to show the property around my schedule which was great since I have very little time because I own my own business. They were able to lease to new tenant within a couple weeks. I've spoken and worked with Christine, Crystal, Dennis, and Michael and all have been professional. I wouldn't hesitate to use Denali Real Estate again in the future.

I am a new tenant with Denali and I am not impressed. When I initially checked out the house, it had the space and yard I was looking for, but needed a lot of repair and had to be cleaned. I was told that this would obviously be taken care of before we moved in and then we could fill out an addendum for additional things that were missed and they would be addressed timely. When I moved in, nothing had been done. The house was still dirty, smelled, and none of the maintenance issues had been addressed. These include fixing the gates that didn't latch (there is a pool in the yard), sprinkler system that didn't work, rusted out dish washer, no garage door openers, shelving in built in entertainment systems that were broken and just left there, garbage disposal that didn't work. Mike was the property manager that met us there and he stated this was the first he was seeing this property. He apologized and called a cleaning lady to have the house cleaned and made a list of things to be fixed, which he said would be taken care of over the next week. We would also receive the garage door opener when the maintenance guys came. So after waiting around until almost 5pm for the cleaning lady to get there and get the filth off the floor and clean the kitchen, we moved in. We submitted out list and emailed it to Mike the following week. We didn't feel this should be done in haste as this was suppose to be the addendum, not the original list. A week passed and we hadn't heard from Mike or the company, so we called and left a message. Still nothing. We have dogs, which is why we chose this house, but were not able to let them outside without supervision because the gate didn't latch shut. On one occasion, the dog did get out and was almost struck by a car on a major street. We tried again to reach out to the company, explaining the liability with the pool in the yard and the gate not latching. We have a neighbor with a small child and he could easily get in our yard. Not to mention, we can't even allow our dogs out back because of the gate. Still, no answer from Mike. I have even tried going to the office to see if we could get a time table on all of this. No luck. Need to wait to hear from Mike. So, three weeks after move in, still no response from the person who said he would take care of this when we first moved in. He won't call us, return our emails. He is always on an appointment. I hate to judge a person or a company based on such a small sample (less than one month), but so far it has been a nightmare. I should have went with my gut and not moved in when they didn't have the home ready, but they had my deposit and I was worried it would be tied up. My advice would be to either avoid this company or make sure you have everything taken care of before you move in, because I have had no luck so far.

It doesn't get better. Wait until move out. ugh - sorry this happened to you. When your check gets "lost" in the mail contact the attorney general's office

I was a renter at one of the properties managed by Denali Real Estate. Dealing with Denali was always easy. Via their website online rental payments was easy. The one time a mechanical issue occurred on the property submitting a maintenance request was also easy to do online and someone came out promptly to fix it.
