We found this practice online and decided to give them a try because they claimed they are "specialist" and can treat patients that are on blood thinners (my mother)First appointment went well, x-rays prescription and future appt for root canalCouple weeks later we arrive for a 3pm appt and pay upfront for procedure we told them my mother had pain on another tooth and would like to have examined as well4pm and we are still waiting as other patients come and goWe are told the DrIs delayed5pm finally go back and new x-ray reveal that other tooth needs to be extractedWe are reschedule for the next day at 1115am and are prescribed more mess againI ask them if it's ok to extract tooth even though my mother is current on her blood thinnersThey say no problem and that she will go under with general anesthesia for the procedureThey also say the payment I made already would be used for the extraction
Next day comes and there is another hour delayOnce inside the DrSays he can't do general anesthesia, she had to be there at an for thatWe then ask why we were scheduled for am ,their reply was that was the only opening in schedule.we ask about the blood thinner concern , Dr and assistant didn't know history and current medicationsThey tell us it was another DrThat knew about the medication
What type of staff is running this place?
We asked for a refund which we received
Visited another office ,x-rays revealed a tooth needing extraction and one root canalStaff gets medical and medication history and contacts my mother's GeneralThey then proceed to tell her she must stop her blood thinning medications before any procedure and an ok from her Dr
On top of that the bill will be for both procedures
I wonder if we had gone ahead with the extraction at dental specialist, my mother would probably still be there bleeding and staff trying to figure out why
Please investigate these people as they have no professionals working thereAlso the billing practice seems fishy, root canal and extraction cost the same?

Both Dr*** and Dr*** took the time to answer all my questions and helped me choose the best course of treatment for myselfBy having them in the same office makes everything very convenient for me as a patientWhen it came time for my surgery Dr*** made my whole experience of getting an implant a piece of cakeKnowing I was starting to get apprehensive he was very reassuring and made everything PAINLESS, quick, and easyDr*** even came in to see how I was doing before my surgeryThese great docs truly care about their patientsIf anyone is looking for a new dentist I highly recommend Dental Specialty Associates

I think that this Dental Office deserves the chanceThe Dentists and Dental Team were very attentive to my dental and financial needs!
I was in despair, unable to find a Dental Office that was willing to stay and help me with my tooth acheI tried one more office before going to the ER, Dental Specialty AssociatesRelieved that the front office was not only able to squeeze me into their schedule but also assured me that I would be taken care ofI arrived and took immediate notice that the office closed at 4pm but they stayed and waited for meI was taken to the back were they informed me that I would need a tooth extraction, my first tooth extractionI was scared! Dr*** and his dental assistant's chair side mannerism helped me get through this!
Overall this was a star experienceI highly recommend this office to all friends and family!

I had a dental exam here, didn't feel right about it so I got a second and third opinion from other dentists. Dental specialty associates told me that I had 8 cavities, and would need one inlay over a tooth that had a very deep cavity. I then went to other dentists to get their opinion, turns out I only have 4 very small cavities and the tooth they wanted to put an inlay on didn't even have a cavity. I have looked on [redacted] and it seems like several other people have had problems with this dentist also.

Review: I had a number of services performed on my teeth and gums over a one year process. I had paid upfront the fees for services in excess of $10,000, split into 2 amounts as services were done. In February of 2015 I became aware of an overpayment of $1400. I spoke to [redacted] who was helpful as to let the person that handles this area of billing. She then relayed to me (I was in the Dr office) that yes there was indeed an refund due to me and that the checks were cut/mailed at the end of the month and it would not be done most likely in Feb (to have doctor look over account) but should be end of March. I called the D.S.A on April 3rd to follow up, I was told the person that was in that department was no longer there and nothing was in the system. On April 8th & 13th I placed another call to office and a message was to be given to the new person in that department [redacted]. On April 14th I received a voice mail from [redacted] that she had looked over the account and submitted a request for a refund of $1189.34 (different from my $1400) but I thought maybe something was outstanding claim wise. She said in voice mail it usually takes a few weeks. Calls were made May 8th 11th and 15th with no check being received. On May 18th I had a dental cleaning so while there I spoke to [redacted] in person who apologized . Seemed the doctor wanted to first know which account, my husband and I our on the same shouldn't matter. So was told that it would be sent out through his bank (though [redacted] did try to get a direct check from him because this had been almost 4 months)and that it would be expedited (turn around about 5 days). On May 27th still no check and another phone call. Was informed the doctor had emailed [redacted] for address over holiday so it was submitted to his bank on Tues the 26th,so should be received by middle of first week of June. Again expedited. June 8th called office no check received, asked to verify with doctor about disposition of check with bank. Was informed that doctor said submitted to bank and that bank said should be delivered June 8th. Called June 9th no check. Left message for [redacted] June 10th & 11th no check. She is not the on Friday. But Friday June 12th NO CHECKDesired Settlement: My desired outcome is the original amount that I knew of $1400. Or the $1189.34 plus interest.

Gilbert AZ - Terrible customer service. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! My son was waiting on an insurance approval for a good 2 months, after calling them numerous of times someone was JUST able to answer my questions TODAY. I expressed my concern for having to play phone tag with them, Tracy the person who answered the phone was VERY rude to me and would not allow me to express exactly what was going on. The back office person who tended to my son was nice, BUT the front office (Tracy) is VERY unprofessional! HUGE disconnect with patient! If you call them don't expect a call back anytime soon. By the way, I expressed to Tracy that I was going to write a bad review and she responded "GREAT". Obviously they don't care!

Review: This business (Dental Specialty Associate) is involved in what would seem to be an insurance fraud costing me and I'm sure other people hundreds of dollars. I had dental work completed in May 2014. Dental Specialty Associate made me sign that I would pay for whatever my insurance did not cover and then forced me to pay $2,000 upfront. The procedures were submitted to my health insurance by Dental Specialty Associate as I asked them to do so. After my insurance paid Dental Specialty Associate, my insurance company informed me my portion due to Dental Specialty Associate was ~$700. I informed my insurance that I already paid $2,000. My insurance company stated that by their legal agreement with Dental Specialty Associate, I should have never been asked to pay anything upfront and that their bill overcharged me. My insurance company stated that the company should have completed the work, filed the claim, then billed me the remaining amount that I owed. Next Dental Specialty Associate sent me two more bills for ~$500 more. When I called them and explained I already paid $2,000 and my insurance stated they paid their portion, Dental Specialty Associate stated that my account balance was $0.00. I informed the company's financial director that they had overcharged me and I was owed ~$1,200 in return. The financial director stated she would look into it. A month passed and I never received a call back. I called the Dental Specialty Associate to inquire of the money they still owed me and they have stated they did owe me ~$900 but it needed to be cleared by the manager. My insurance company continues to state that they owe me ~ $1,200 and they are trying to “balance bill” me, which they are not allowed to do. I still have not received my money back after 8 months of calling and complaining.Desired Settlement: Dental Specialty Associate owes me $1,272 after insurance adjustments. I would like them to stop sending me statements/bills for additional cost, pay me $1,272, and then close my case. I would also like them to review their agreement with [redacted] and acknowledge that they understand what they can and cannot charge patients.

This company has poor service including customer service. When contacting regarding issues at first they will communicate with you but when things get complicated they would say they will call back with the issues, but they don't call and they intend to ignored you until you confront them. I cancelled my service and trying to dispute my amount deposited, this happened last year of summer until now (February 2015) I have not get all my refund and never called me nor emailing me back.
