DialAmerica Marketing Inc. Reviews (22)

Review: This company called me at home and told me they were from[redacted] magazine, which I subscribed to. I had failed to renew my subscription because I was upset over the loss of my husband of 25 years. They told me they would renew my subscription and told me it would be for something like $44 dollars or a four part payment process. Believing they were from[redacted], I assumed the cost had increased and said ok. I received the billing notice in the mail and it was not from [redacted] magazine, as it had always been before, so I called the magazine to check. They told me this was a scam, they were not in any way affiliated with DialAmerica and that I should go to the official website and file a complaint. Thery also renewed my magazine subscription for $10 - not the $44 something that this DialAmerica had given me. This is a very nasty high-pressure sales technique that is preying upon the elderly (I am 60 years old on Saturday) and recently bereaved.Desired Settlement: I want cancellation of this billing that was obtained under fraudulent circumstances.

Response:

Upon receipt of this complaint, I reviewed our calling files and was able to determine the following:We contacted Ms. [redacted] on 8/27/14 regarding renewing her subscription to [redacted] magazine. The subscription offer was for 18 issues of [redacted] magazine for a total of $44.95 - or 4 installments of $11.24 each.As a quality assurance measure, we ask each customer if we can "record" the sales confirmation. I listened to the confirmation and everything was done correctly and the order was processed. The agent mentioned that the call was from "Dailamerica". [redacted] magazine is one of our publisher clients. I'm not sure her Ms. [redacted] spoke with at[redacted], but they did not give her accurate information. Ms. [redacted] mentioned she received a renewal notice from[redacted] magazine for a lower amount. I'm not sure how many issues that offer was for - our offer is for 18 issue, which would be for 3 years since it is a "bi-monthly"magazine.At this time, I have canceled her subscription. There may be another bill in the mail, which can be discarded. In addition, I have added her phone number, ###-###-####, to our internal do-not-call-file.I sincerely apologize to Ms. [redacted] for any distress or inconvenience our call may have caused her. Also, I would like to extend my condolences to her for the recent loss of her husband. Please let me know if you need any additional information.Sincerely,[redacted], [redacted]

Review: I was mislead by telemarketer to believe they were calling from [redacted], ordered a renewal over the phone. As it turns out I had already renewed my [redacted] and called customer services to cancel--they do not acknowledge cancellation and continue to bill me. Called again on Friday and again "customer service" talks through my request to cancel and to not send further invoice.

I don't want another invoice from these folks, what they did was in violation of [redacted] Statute Section 42-285. Customer service showed inappropriate behavior and improper service. This is also being reported to [redacted] Consumer Protection Department.Desired Settlement: DO NOT SEND ME ANOTHER INVOICE, CANCEL ANY PURPORTED "PURCHASE" AND NEVER CALL ME AGAIN, I AM ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST.
