Diamond Construction NYC Reviews (27)

I contacted Just Gutters, NYC on 1/*/15 requesting an estimate to clean my gutters. The representative gave me an appointment between 12 noon and 2 pm and stated I would receive a 15 min. advance call to let me know they were in the area.

The representative (named John) arrived at 2:35 pm with no apology or justification and no advance call. When I inquired about the lateness, he became EXTREMELY RUDE and ARROGANT and insisted that if I had something else to do - I should do so and he return another time.

In an unprofessional and abrupt tone he asked me if I wanted the work done or not. He it would cost $150 to do the gutters. I inquired as to how could give me a price without assessing the roof and gutters.

So he went up on the roof and then he gave me a written estimate with a list of items to be repaired for $605 on a yellow lined paper - NO BUSINESS CARD - NO CONTRACT, NO LETTERHEAD.

He said he would do the work on Monday 01//*/15..I called his business number ###-###-#### to let him know I would not be using his company.

On Monday morning JADE K** same man who called himself John stated that I have an outstanding bill with him for cleaning my gutters. I told him, I did not owe him anything because he DID NOT clean my gutters, he argued with me and said he would bill my property and then he abruptly hung up the phone. I have a contractor who will verify that my gutters today 01/**/15 HAVE NOT BEEN CLEANED.

Review: In August 2012 Diamond Roofing installed a new roof to the house at the cost of $7,000. In June 2013 the roof is leaking. I tried unsuccessfully to have Diamond Roofing come to honor contract of 15 year warranty of work done (Called 6/**/13 left message, called 6/**/13 left message. got a call back from [redacted] on 6/**/13 who again dominated the conversation and then hung up). Representative [redacted] continues to behave in a hostile way towards me. I explained to him that I was trying to resolve this prior to having to seek remediation and he has told me to go to litigation. I am asking that my roof be repaired or that Diamond Roofing find a reputable roofing company to honor their contract with me. The water damage is causing additional damage and my contractor had to halt work in the areas of the leaks, causing me additional funding and damage to my property.Desired Settlement: I will like my roof repaired and for Diamond Roofing to honor their fifteen year warranty. If Diamond Roofing is unable to honor their warranty I desire Diamond Roofing to find a company that will honor the 15 year warranty for me. If Diamond roofing is unable to honor their warranty I am requesting that they refund half of my payment $3,500 and allow me to find a roofing company to repair the roof and a contractor to repair the damage done by the leaking roof.

Review: Roof and gutter work done in October 2013. Payment made, as per original contract. They did charge an additional amount, which was disputed and accepted. Several emails were sent as gutter repair didn't solve the original issues. Understanding that weather was inclement, we understood repairs would have to wait. April [redacted] contacted him with video showing leaking issues. No reply. In early May, on a day of heavy rains, we also got damages to an interior ceiling. We didn't have any leaking issues prior to his work. He fails to reply to emails and is not adhering to the contract. He fails to come to see damages, as well.Desired Settlement: Repair the gutter, which he supposedly repaired. Issue remains. View damages to ceiling, in area where he installed flashing to supposedly narrow down the possibilities of leakage.

Review: On 3/**/2015 a representative of Diamond Construction entered into a verbal agreement to install a roof drain on my pitched roof of my brownstone located in. [redacted]. We were told a plate would be installed to the wood sud level which would require surrounding area (Flashing, roofing material etc )to be peeled back to reveal the wood of the roof, plate and drain installed to connect to my existing PVC newly installed Leader pipe. The area would then be resealed with roofing material..(please forgive my poor terminology)

The Leader pipe was still being installed and not ready for drain we also sought other quotes with other companies explaining the same process. We chose to go with Diamond because the representative was so knowledgeable and we felt comfortable that we would receive great service and a drain as described.

On 3/**/2015 Tradesmen came (and to be descriptive) cut the new PVC Leader pipe to level with the existing roof ,put glue or something on PVC Leader pipe and on a plate with sleeve, inserted sleeve into leader pipe ,pressed edges into the existing roofing material top surface level, globbed a sealant or flashing and 20 minutes later received payment. We noticed also that no screen placed on drain hole, when asked we were told it was not included in the price and it can be purchased at Home depot for $3.00 dollars.

Having reservations about the lack of drain screen and the overall inconsistency with the job description given with the quote and the actual services rendered I called at 7:10 PM. I was met with a mild irritation, told I did not have any leaves around so no need for screen(No trees have leaves right now) Told that a job this small should have been done on the spot and not with a call back the day later(what then is the purpose of a quote?and my leader pipe was still being installed) The representative on the other end became somewhat belligerent with any questions asked and extremely dismissive of both my questions and of my Business. My Partner called as he was the one who met with the representative whose description of the scope of work convinced us to go with Diamond Construction and was met with defensiveness and dismissiveness.

I have decided to stop payment of my check because the services I received are not what was described in the quote given. I have received several quotes all in the same ballpark and the scope of work described are in alignment with what was initially described by Diamond Construction. So the Job we agreed to based on the quote given is and was possible.

It is my intention to honor my financial end of the bargain once I receive rendered services in alignment with the quote given. When I emailed Diamond construction and spoke with a belligerent, rude representative I was told that the police would be contacted under Theft of Services..What about my rights under

Resonable Rejection. I asked if they were willing to at least come out and see for themselves that the job done was not the job described so we can move forward. Still awaiting a reply.Desired Settlement: I would like for a representative of Diamond Construction to come out and open up the portion of my roof install the plate to the wood level insert the drain connection to the leader pipe, properly seal and reclose the section of roof opened to accomodate the new drain add the $3.00 screen and properly seal the area opened. Or Diamond Construction can rebill me $120.00 or less For the service they did render.

Review: I hired Diamond Construction NYC on December **/2014 to install a chimney sleeve in my house. I was quoted $1400.00 for the job. At the time of completion I was informed that the total for the job would be $1575.00 with tax included. I informed the person that was charging me the money that the amount was incorrect and he proceeded to tell me that he was given the total by his boss "[redacted]". I paid the amount and told him that I would call the office the following working day. When I called the office to let them know that their employee failed to give me a receipt, and I needed an Invoice and that the total with tax should of been ($1524.25) "NOT" ($1575.00). He exploded on the phone in a very RUDE and ANGRY manner and hung the phone up on me. I called several times after and left messages and "[redacted]" has not called me back & I haven't received the ($50.75) owed to me.

$1400.00 + NYC tax 8.875% =$1524.25 "NOT" ($1575.00)Desired Settlement: I want Diamond Construction NYC to provide me with an Invoice and the extra money that I was overcharged ($50.75)

$1400.00 + NYC tax 8.875% =$1524.25 "NOT" ($1575.00)

Review: we had our roof replaced through a contractor 2 years ago. The contractor told us that he did not do gutters. We contacted "Just Gutters" (aka Diamond construction NYC") to come and repair our gutters. They sent 2 people one of whom did the repairs and the other was the go fer. The cost was $950 which I paid at the completion of the gutter job. Dylan who did the work informed me that his boss [redacted] would be coming the next day to talk to me. He was to show up at 9 am.He finally showed up at 11 am and begins to tell me that the contractor who did the original roof screwed up and he could correct it for $2000. He said that we had to move fast sinc3e a snowstorm was due on Sunday night.I realized that he was doing the standard contractor trash the other guy and told him we would get back to him.The snowstorm was light, but about 1 week later we had heavy rains and guess what- The gutters were still leaking. I called [redacted] and was told the following1- They had called me 6 times and left messages and I never returned their calls. This is false2- First [redacted] said that it had not rained and then he said that they were leaking because of the problems caused by the prior contractor.I informed [redacted] that they had not called and that the gutters ere still leaking which was what he was supposed to repair. He accused me of attempting to get free work. I informed him that he was lying. An hour later [redacted] called and told me that he had called my number 6 times. I informed him that he was lying. My gutters still leakDesired Settlement: I do not want these guys on my roof. I do not trust them and I think that they will trash something else. Originally I wanted my gutters to be fixed and am now convinced that they are not capable of the repair and they are not trustworthy.

Review: Due to bad winter weather I had some roof leaking issue in my house ,. As normal I contacted 3 contractor to provide me the proposal or outline what should be done, I met this contractor in December but ask to provide us written proposal. I did not received the proposal until yesterday March** 2014 3:48PM , so during that time reached out to different contractor's and got proposal and ask them to work on this weekend March**2014, once we been there and found someone did some work just in the valley roof and I don't have any clue, I do have all the video and picture its all nailed out in the roof valley of my house, I did not signed any contract and not agreed to the price with this person,

I do have contract from two other contractor in written with less price and more detail work. This contractor just went to my house because I spoke with him December and no written agreement signed and now threating us over the phone. I called the police and then contractor ran away and using bad words that I'm a crook. I signed a contractor with other company they was on site today and they left because they advised me to resolve issue first before they can touch anything on the roof.

So this contractor did the work before even sending us the proposal and no written agreement and did not notify me that he did the work etc. whatever is done so bad nails in the roof valley and that will create a big leak in my house and even in the neighbor house. Please my request is that he did the work totally unauthorized without my written permission or agreement and very bad job totally unprofessional. like I said two other contractor did not do any work without written agreement so why this contractor he just want to rip off the customer. I don't mind sharing the proposal from other contractor that I do have from almost 2-3 weeks and this guy just came from the blue and followed no rules and laws. I'm nervous that he will go out to my house and will rip off something from the roof. if any leak or any problem in the house I want him to be responsible and we are scared because he did threaten us over the phone.

Best Regards,

[redacted]Desired Settlement: I don't want to be responsible for any work that this contractor has done with out my knowledge and approval and no written agreement.

Hi,

We did not heard anything from the business but we do receive the strange phone calls 4 times mostly in 2-3AM in the morning. Repeatably phone call at least 20 times each time. but that is a different stroy.

We did have a leak again in the house after this business repaired the roof valley. We did hired a another contractor and completely removed the roof valley and roof. There was lot of water under the roof valley. We took a video and pictures...
