Customer came in with his own brakes & rotors and had us put them on. When we were doing them we advised customer we needed a brake hose and caliber. He stated he didn't want to spend any more money to just try and put back together. He left and then returned saying the front driver brakes were...

grabbing so we took them back apart and told  him again what he needed and why it was grinding he refused again. We refixed the caliber and told him it needed to be replaced and he left with nothing wrong with either rotor. He then returned a few days later and said a different shop had to turn both rotors and had a receipt that had two labor charges but did not say what for. When I asked questions because it wasn't adding up he informed me he had a lawyer and I am giving him his money back. So I replied No because there was nothing wrong with the job we did and he wouldn't tell me about the job he had done elsewhere.

We have spoken with [redacted] and agreed we will handle through [redacted]'s insurance. Pending contact from them.Tell us why here...

We installed used tires on 08-12-2015 on [redacted]'s 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500 that were in good condition as he mentioned. [redacted] has 20 inch chrome plated wheels on his vehicle which over the years develop pits and break down of the chrome in the bead...

area. The pits in the bead area if not to severe enough can cleaned with a high speed wire brush and sealed with bead sealer. If there is a severe amount cleaning and sealing will not work. [redacted] has mentioned that he has tried to have them sealed several times since the vehicle had been service in Aug. Replacement of the wheels had been recommended also in Aug and at the time he did not want to. Now over the last 6 months he is still battling the problem, but at several other shops as mentioned in his letter. I do have several pictures if needed showing corrosion of chrome wheels driven through the winters in the Mid-west. It is not uncommon and after a wheel is over two years old, chrome breaks down. Other then a set of winter wheels and summer wheels to swap out each season. The tire change machine does not have enough pressure to damage a wheel, only a pot hole or other hard impacts damage. Again I have several pictures of cracked wheels. Usually there is a cracked or damaged wheel a week that comes in for service that is found. We do flat repairs for all vehicles at no charge for any customer and if there is a problem with there rims we educate them. Doing it twice is not a good. We recommend like other tire businesses to replace badly corroded wheels, but that is up to the end user. When I talked to [redacted] a couple of weeks ago, again I stressed that he should replace the wheels. The store manager took care of the tire purchase and another set was ordered.  Customer was extremely happy with our follow up and immediate action to get her taken care of.

This issue is already taken care of.

Through our investigation we have determined that the damage to the wheels could not have been caused by our equipment. The damage is what you would see from normal wear and tear over time. So often everybody wants to complain and fuss because of a bad experience. How about the good ones?!? I purchased a set of tire here and was given some bad information regarding rebates and what I qualified for. I wasn't mad it was a mix up and I expressed the fact that I felt misled. The rebate department said they understood and put in for both for me. I later got a phone call from the manager of the store that told me if I did not feel like what I got was fair or right, to come by and he would make sure it worked out. Well, the rebate department authorized both rebates and thanked me for my business.

Too often we are so wrapped up in ourselves to remember to say the nice things about the people that treat us right, we only want to complain. There are NO complaints with my experience with Discount Tire in Mt Juliet TN. The service was great, the people were awesome, and they follow up on everything! Great job guys!!

I do not agree that the damage was not done by discount tire.... the wheel was not damaged when I took  the truck to them.  I have also seen a smaller ding on the left front wheel that is very similar in location to the damage on the left rear.  I still believe that the installer was removing the old wheel weights with a hammer and screwdriver type of tool and he drove the tool into the chrome part of my wheel accidently.  I have received a used wheel that was supplied by discount tire and accept it as a replacement for the damaged wheel.
