Better Business Bureau: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolvedThis business was very quick and courteous about resolving my issueI will continue doing business with Discount Tire for many years to come Regards, [redacted]

On 8/2/14, I brought my vehicle in to have a flat tire repaired or replaced at the Discount Tire at [redacted] The employee who assisted me said that my tire was damaged/flat due to the uneven ware on the tire and thus, I could not use my warranty to replace the tireMy husband had found a nail in the tire! He then advised me that Discount Tire had no tires in stock similar to the current tires on my vehicle Our goal was to replace the flat tire and buy two new tires/due to the fact I replaced another tire earlier in the year I would like to say, I feel completely taken advantage of due to the fact I was a woman and had my child with me The employee "guilted" me into buying FOUR new tires, when I should have basically only purchased two I have used Discount Tire for years for tires for my vehicles, but after this intimidating experience, I will no longer bringing my business to this company No one should go through this

On 04/30/at 08:we had an appointment to have the tires replaced on my wife's Ford EdgeWe dropped the car off at 08:and received a call about an hour later that the installation had been complete and we could come pick up the carOnce we arrived we paid our bill and left the building, once in the car and still in the parking lot my wife had noticed a low tire indicator light appear on her cluster panel, she then got out of the car and looked at the tires to see if any looked low on air, while she was inspecting the tires she noticed significantly large gouges in her wheelsShe then went inside and explained the low indicator light and the damage to the wheels, the person working the counter went outside and turned off the low air pressure indicator and briefly looked at the wheels and stated that couldn't be from them and that it appeared to be what he referred to as "curb rash"My wife explained that was not the case that the wheels were flawless when the vehicle was dropped offThe person at the counter said he would submit a claim and an adjuster would contact us within daysMy wife also called the corporate number on the paperwork the same day as the service took place and left a message, which was never returned On 05/03/my wife called the store and explained the situation again and asked for the claims department's phone number to follow upMy wife called the number provided on 05/03/and left a message; no one returned her call once againMy wife then went to the Discount Tire store after work on that same day and spoke to the manager on duty (Orlando M [redacted] ), she explained the situation to Orlando and he checked their system again, he stated no claim had been submittedHe then went outside and briefly looked over the wheelsAfter he came back into the store he said he doesn't believe that it was their fault but offered my wife a complete set of aftermarket wheels at no costMy wife then proceeded to call me and explain to me the offer and needed me to come to the store as she has no experience buying wheelsWhen I arrived and was shown the wheels that were offered I explained that we did not want the aftermarket wheels (which were not the same size as the OEM wheels and could be a potential safety issue), Orlando then stated there was no other option and that he would file a claim I wish I could share the photos so you can see the damageGouges are coming from the inside out to the edge of the wheel, if this were "curb rash" wouldn't the grooves start at the edge and work their way to the center cap? In another photo you can clearly see where the edge of the wheel/rim is bent from the inside out, again if this were "curb rash" the wheel/rim should be pushed in towards the tire, it is not, it looks as if it were pried outward buy something about an inch, to an inch and a half wideI believe it would be impossible for two wheels to have identical markings from striking a curb, I also believe it to be impossible for a wheel to be bent outward from striking anything, including a curb Three of the four are without a doubt in need of replacement now and Discount Tire will do nothingI wont use them again and I will never recommend them to anyoneStay away if you care about your car

I am including the complaint.I need to update the informationThe information in my complaint is correct, however there are areas that aren't spelled correctly, or very clear.I am asking for them to give me have back on my tires because I dont believe that my tires were really bad.I think they were trying to sell me tires as soon as I walked in the door. They told me that the integrity of the tire was a concern, However I didnt see anything wrong with the tires myself. Then to not be told about my rim being bent, that makes me believe the damage came from them changing my tires. Then there is the issue of my tires being out of balance as soon as I leave the shop. Then having my son told that the machine at the far end of the building doesnt really work right.I want the cost to be cut in half due to the fact I DONT believe I really needed tires. The car only has miles on it when I purchased it[redacted]

Thursday, February 01, Complaint ID: *** (*** ***) To whom it may concern, On January 22nd I made contact with Customer about his concerns regarding the installation of his tiresDuring this phone call we discussed how his tires could have been installed incorrectly and that
Discount Tire wanted to fix this issue for himI asked the customer to bring the vehicle back by to get a second look at the work performed to verify that this was a real issueI explained that the arrow on the side of his tire is probably a manufacturing rather than a directional arrow, as this tire is not a directional tire(verified by the manufacture)I explained that if there was an error on our part that I would gladly refund the original cost of labor ($113.72)The customer stated that he was out of town and would get back to me once he was backI have not seen or heard from this customer since our telephone conversationThe offer to refund his labor is still valid once he brings me the vehicle to verify that what he is claiming is trueP.SPlease update contact information *** *** is no longer the manager of this locationRegards, Luke H*** Discount Tire###-###-####

Horrible customer service when they damage your vehicle! They should have true "experienced" techs to be able to advertise like they doThey are a joke along with their claims department, Fleet Response out of Ohio

My husband and I had a wonderful experience when we went to go get a flat tire fixed on my car I had gone just to get that tire replaced but realized that all four tires were in bad shape Of course I wasn't expecting to spend that much When the manager *** *** saw I was very concerned with the fact that I was going to have to pay for four new tires instead of one, he actually asked me what I could afford at that time When I told him, he replied, "Then I will put four new tires on your car for that amount." He said that he was more concerned about me driving on the tires in the condition that they were in rather than how much he charged me

I have accepted the response because I will not be going back to Discount to give them my business again. They didn't need a chance to make a change, the original quote was sent over electronically already. I know they had it because the Manager also confirmed the same price I got online over the phone. That's the only reason why I went in to begin with. Now all of a sudden looking at the same computer system I imagine the Manager was looking at when he gave the lessor quote is now more.I think not. But thanks for your help. I spoke to customer about this issue as it was happening.  Our technicians always post the tag and place the bill prior to starting the application process for the fertilizer.  We do it this way so the technicians do not forget to post the...

tag that is required by state chemist.  As the technician was posting the tag, another company was also in the neighborhood and called off the number on our truck and notified us that our technician had lost a bag of fertilizer around the corner of the culdesac.  Our technician went back to pick up the bag around the corner because we can be fined by the state chemist for leaving the product on the street.  I explained this to the customer and told her that our technician was literally just around the corner and would be returning to her property in just a few minutes.  She expressed her concern that the perception was he was not going to apply the product.  I assured her that he would be right back to apply the product.  She had been a customer of ours all season.  She said that she did not want him to apply the product because she had already called and asked to be removed from the program.  I apologized and told her it was my misunderstanding that she had not been removed from our customer list.  She was a lawn mowing and fertilizer customer and I thought she had just wanted to be removed from the lawn mowing service.  I once again apologized to her and told her we were sorry for the misunderstanding and we would apply the product at no charge for the inconvenience.  She said she did not want us to apply the product and wanted to be sure we understood how she perceived the entire process that day. I once again apologized and we had a meeting with the technician that day and explained to him that he should have finished the application at the customers house and then went back to pick up the lost bag of product.  He said he understood but he was just nervous about the lost bag.  We told him we understood but you have to think about what customers are seeing and that they are not aware of what else is going on. This customer was behind in their payments to us and received a notice of collections on the exact date this complaint was placed with your company, 12/22/15.  She called me late at night when she received the notification and was very belligerent on the phone and once again brought up the issue that she perceived our technician to not be applying product back on 11/24/15. I tried to have a conversation with her about her delinquent balance for mowing services but she got upset and said she was not going to pay.  After the conversation with her, we decided to just write off her outstanding balance rather than have our attorney proceed with collections because we are Christians and it was so close to Christmas and we honestly did not want her to have to worry about the balance.  It is disheartening to us that after all we offered she would still post this unfounded complaint that was just her perception and not actually fact.  I am not sure what more we can do.  I apologized numerous times, offered to give her the last service for free and we have written off her delinquent balance for multiple services that she received earlier in the year. We are not just a mom and pop business as she alluded to and we take customer service very seriously and we are sorry that she felt this way.  We plan on using this instance as a training tool for next season. Thank you, Diana Mike's Discount Mowing
