Josh O*** did an outstanding job, very professional First of all he calmed my fears about my electrical disaster The power company had called me while I was away shopping to tell me they had to cut the power at the poll because they had warnings at their sight of possible fireThe connections had burned behind their meterI called Dixie electric and got help immediatelyJosh had to drive from Prattville but got here in a timely manner After working all day in Auburn he then took on the overwhelming task of replacing all the wiring to the outside boxesBattling the heat, exhaustion and mosquitoes he kept working all through the night (Friday) until mid morning Saturday to complete the job He called the power company to to come out and restore power and was finally able to head home for much needed restHe assured me the city inspector would be out to make sure it all passed inspection...and it didHe followed up just now to label the panel and make sure everything was right

I called Dixie Electric-Plumbing-Air about a simple job of cleaning out the condensation pan and replacing an overflow switch on my AC I knew this was the problem and said so up front The shiny $coupon I'd received in the mail didn't mention an automatic $'diagnostic' fee It was mentioned when I called for help However, I had assumed, since this has been my past experience on service calls, that it would have been absorbed in the labor/parts portion Not only was there the 'diagnostic' fee but a $fuel fee When the technician added the 'real' service fees it was well OVER $300! This for shop vacuuming the pan, (I had already bailed a lot of it) and installing a switch and possibly blowing out a drain pipe
Then there was a question about them honoring the mailed coupon Said coupon also sang "up-front 'no surprise' pricing to fit your needs and budget"I refused to initial that I was intending to pay that much for NOTHING
The technician was nothing but professional and I'm sure competent, but because of this foolish marketing and over-done claims, I do NOT recommend Dixie Heating and etcand sent him off I plan to pay for services rendered not some marketing vapor, and the price is outlandish to the point of fleecing I wish I had a list of local owned services I am toting my shop vacuum upstairs and a snake for the drain in case I need it, and anticipate it will take me minutes to an hour, since I'm inexperienced at this($per hour) A pox on them
They are like the Big Box stores to the local service businessman trying to make a living on hard earned skills and honesty

My appointment time was honored and the maintenance checks were thorough

The electrical specialist arrived at my home an hour after I called to request service He was finished with the three small jobs I needed done within an hour, was very knowledgeable, explained things well, and was very personable I was very pleased with the experience and will certainly use Dixie again

Dixie Electric is a great companyThey may be a bit expensive on some things but it's done right the first time and about 99% of the time all repairs are completed on tj at initial visit

Responded very quickly to a potentially dangerous situation

Thanks to Carolyn's scheduling, I was able to have the annual plumbing and electrical inspections done the same day as the semi-annual heating and air conditioning inspections This was important to me as my dear mother is elderly and not in the best of health and I thought one day would be better than three Brandon and CJ arrived first and did a thorough inspection and left me with a good understanding of the conditions regarding the plumbing Next Josh arrived and once again a thorough inspection was performed with recommendations regarding a few minor issues Next Phillip arrived and again a good thorough inspection was made I was familiar with several of the techs as they had been here before Once again I was impressed with the good manners and concern shown my mother and the professionalism with which the inspections were accomplished All of the techs went over the reports in terms I could understand and patiently answered questions Yes Dixie may cost more initially but their work is guaranteed and they definitely want you to be pleasedSheri was most helpful last year when there was a small issue with an inspection Peace of mind is priceless and I thank you Dixie Electric for giving me that relief
