Docuprep Center Reviews (21)

I got a letter in the mail on the 15th of October 2015 from a "consumer advocacy group" with information about "NEW FEDERAL STUDENT LOAN LAW BENEFITS" and "EASY QUALIFICATION PROCESS" There were lists of all sorts of wonderful things like lower monthly payments, stop garnishment, forgiveness programs, bring loans in default to good standing, lower interest rates, no minimum or maximum loan balance, and money back assurance... The way this paper is formatted it looks very official. I called and spoke with "Ryan" who just wanted to make sure that I wasn't overlooking any sort of loan forgiveness plan, reduced interest rates or lower/non monthly payments due. During registration time and login I asked "Ryan" how his company or organization obtained the funds necessary to provide this service to people. He explained to me that there may be fees involved in some instances, he then had me sign in to fafsa and create an account. This seemed ok because I have obviously done this before for school. Then he asked for my email address and immediately sent me an email with a link that said "Retrieve loans for [Customer Name]" I was mostly alarmed when my email server sent me a notification highlighted in red that stated: "This sender failed our fraud detection checks and may not be who they appear to be." I asked "Ryan" why his form of communication would trigger such an alert and he said he would not know. He then asked me again to click on the link. I asked him if he could just tell me what the ip address was and I would manually type it in at a public computer like a library. He said it would not work that way because the link was set up directly for me. This was immediately suspicious for me, which is when I looked the company up. First of all it is not listed on the stamped mail that I received, which made me more suspicious so I had to use his email address to do a google search. Upon doing a google search I found a few reviews on the Revdex.com website. I think that there should be more reviews for this business to further inform people to make a more clear decision about how much information they easily share with outside sources who are not even willing to put their company name on their correspondence. I hope this helps someone as the previous review helped me. I think, when the time comes, I will contact the federal government on my own about any sort of programs that I might qualify for - in the meantime I do not need any added fees or issues with my credit or identity being manipulated or stolen from anyone, so I will pass.

The process took longer than I initially expected but they brought payment down to $0 a month which is obviously amazing. The communication was top notch through the whole consolidation and I never had to worry. The reason it took a bit longer was mainly due to everything they needed for proof of the information that was gathered in the first call. I really appreciated their help and wish I could do more than just write a lazy comment.

I give them an A+ Lol

Like the other negative reviewers, I also rec'd a FINAL NOTICE in the mail, which prompted me to check it out. The part with the official government web address is what got me, so I thought it might be official. I created the FSA ID and called the number on the letter. I should have known better, as there wasn't an official business name on the letter. Anyway, I called and spoke with Samuel Valesquez and he walked me through the process of sharing my loan info with them online, which seemed pretty strange since the letter made it seem like they are affiliated with the US government, and if so, then they should have ALREADY had access to my loan amount, etc. But I didn't listen to my gut and shared it anyway. The red flags started popping up big time when he asked for my driver's license number, two references, employeretc. I started thinking this sounds like a credit application. He wanted all of that information without even telling me how this process would benefit me! When he started talking about an underwriter, my gut kicked in big time. Something felt all the way off. Underwriting is what they do when you're buying a car and I just knew the pitch for money was coming. I never got to that point, because he asked for my social security number and that's where I drew the line. Even when I call in to gov lines, they only ask for the last 4. I told him I didn't feel comfortable giving that info out. He said that any time you call in to a 'government' line they ask for that info, which I know to be untrue. I persisted in resisting sharing that info. He said there's no need for us to continue and to call back when I'm ready to give my social. Needless to say, I won't be calling back. I just wanted to add my two cents to the other reviewers advice. Follow your gut, and if it seems fishy, run like hell.

I also received a letter and called the number attached to receive more information. When I called in the first time I was routed to a representative and couldn't help but to mention how strange it was that the name of the company isn't on the letter. Upon hearing this I was immediately hung up on. I called back but the next agent was pushy and didn't want to give me any information on the company. I had them send the link to my email and the bottom has a Revdex.com seal yet they are not registered. All of the positive comments on here read like an infomercial. I don't feel comfortable utilizing this service. Just a heads up.

This is a scam company. They send letters that make it look like they are affiliated with the Department of Education. They suggest that you are eligible for student loan consolidation/forgiveness, even if you are not. They simply want you to pay them $800 to enroll in a program that will not actually do you any good.

Review: Called the company after recieving a letter that appeared to be connected with the federal student loan program with my loan amounts on it saying I could apply for the loan consolidation & payment reduction program. After working with Docuprep they requested I pay $899 and they would do all the paperwork and enroll me in a program to lower my payments which were $459 a month before the program and they would file a deferment. I payed the 2 payments of $449.50 and they said they would take care of everything. Well the deferment didn't get filed I had to call back in and resubmit paperwork for that and then I got a letter from the student loan servicer saying my monthly payment is now $675 a month. Also, they informed me that I wasn't enrolled in any specific repayment program and I now have to work with them to try to do what I paid Docuprep to do. This has turn into a huge financial burden for me and my family and I want to ensure that no one else wastes their money with this company.Desired Settlement: I feel that Docuprep should provide a full refund of my money since nothing that they said they would do was done and I now have to work with the student loan servicer to get some kind of resolution for a payment that is over $200 a month more that what I had before.

Docuprep Center is charging a fee for something you can do free by going to www.studentaid.ed.gov.

They want you to submit agreement forms to them while you're on the phone by using electronic signature with an opportunity to read what you're signing after the fact. They present themselves as a solution to help you, but you can do exactly what they're offering without them or their fees.

While I can't say it's a scam, it's pretty darn close.

Review: I contacted DOCUPREP on several occasions regarding services I paid for in July. I was told I would hear back from FedLoan within 90 days regarding my application here it is 6 month later and I have not heard anything from FedLoan. On 12/03/2015 I contact DOCUPREP again and spoke with Jordan not only was he unwilling to assist me with my compliant, he would not transfer my call to a manager and told me as much. Considering how much money I paid DOCUPREP, they should have been more forthcoming about their processes and train their representatives to assist the customer. As I stated I was told I would hear from FedLoan within 90 days, I repeatedly contacted DOCUPREP as I never heard from FedLoan and they repeatedly disregarded my concerns, I would like a full refund of the money I paid them to consolidate my loans with FedLoan as of this date I have not received any information pertaining to my consolidation.Desired Settlement: Since I never heard from FedLoan within the 90 day time frame and repeatedly contacted DOCUPREP and DOCUPREP repeatedly disregarded my concerns, I would like a full refund of the money I paid them to consolidate my loans with FedLoan as of this date I have not received any information pertaining to my consolidation with FedLoan.

Response:

Dear Revdex.com,

I got a letter in the mail stating I could possibly get my loans forgiven so when I called initially I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. I spoke to an agent named "[redacted]" he told me that these were Government programs so I decided to see what they had to say. First and foremost I was able to bring my payment from $460 to $29 which is absolutely amazing. The process was a bit slow after I enrolled and I was initially worried I got scammed but they not only kept the lines of communication open for me they ultimately followed through with what they promised because I just received the letter from the DOE stating my consolidation has been completed and it gives me great joy to be able to say this. This has literally saved me thousands upon thousands so I wish I could do more than just write a silly review on here but this will have to do.

Thank you [redacted] and Docuprep Center I appreciate it more than I can express in words.

I originally was skeptical with this service but once I heard directly from the department of education about the consolidation I was very pleased and very happy I went with document prep center. My payments went from $450 to $30 I mean I can't thank them enough. You hear there's a lot of scams about student loans but I'm glad I found the one that was legit.

I got a notice in the mail about help with consolidating my student loans and whatnot. It had a suspicious "FINAL NOTICE" at the top, which seemed weird since I have never received a previous notice and didn't owe money to them… but I didn't listen to my gut. I called and started the application. I found it odd the way they handled the call. I got transferred from one specialist to the next going through the application process, gave away too much information, and then when I got to the final step; something didn't feel right. I questioned it, and cancelled my application. I proceeded to receive at least 4 calls in a row from the company. I finally answered the last one, asked the guy questions like why they were wanting to charge me $900 (legitimately) to fill out a form that I could do myself and whatnot. He was very smooth, I'll admit, and was pushy. I got suckered in to finishing the application. They send an email for you to physically sign documents to send back to them. I looked up their company in more detail, and found out that similar scams were in existence. I don't know why I didn't listen to my gut the first time. I called their helpline, and immediately cancelled everything. Requested a cancellation notice for proof, and asked to be not called ever again. Of course, I received another call from them an hour later. I didn't answer it, but I did answer the second one 3 hours later. The guy who was walking me through the application was on the line, and seemed pissed (beyond his customer-service voice and rhetoric). He was wondering why I cancelled a second time even though I actually processed the application the last time around. I told him it didn't feel right, I was sorry for wasting their time, and to never call me again. Unfortunately, I've given them a lot of personal information. Hopefully, this is a good teaching lesson for other people and none of this comes back to haunt me.

I was trying to find a way to get rid of my student loans or at the very least make things more manageable. I was told by a friend of mine to call document preparation center to assist me getting into one of these government programs that allows for forgiveness. My "adviser" [redacted]I believe that was his name) was extremely nice and very patient with me. He walked me through all the programs that I qualified for and we ended up enrolling into the Income Based Repayment program that is going to allow for forgiveness at the end of the program. My balance is over $60,000 and my lender wanted over $745 from me so to get into this program and have a payment that is now $12 is absolutely amazing. I can not thank [redacted] or Document Preparation Center enough for helping me through the whole thing. THANK YOUTHANK YOUTHANK YOUTHANK YOUTHANK YOUTHANK YOU

I feel like a fairly bright person. I researched student loan consolidation for myself thinking I could do it. I found out very quickly how difficult it is to try to navigate through all the government programs and what makes them helpful.

Even my own student loan servicing company didn't tell me about this program. I could of handled this a long time ago and saved so much money but all they saw in me was money.

I well never forget the help that DocuPrep provided me. Thank you to my agent for explaining what my options where. Now I have a payment of $0.00 per month and possible loan forgiveness. I was so skeptical and now I'm just so very grateful. Thank you again.

I called them to help me with my student loans and they were able to help me consolidate my loans into the Graduated program. It is definitely appreciated and the adviser was pretty informative but the one complaint I have is they sometimes do not get back to you.

They saved me probably $50,000 though so epic thank you!!!

First and foremost, when I received my final notice in the mail I was questioning why I haven't been notified prior. I spoke with a loan adviser from Docuprep and he informed me it said final notice because legislation can change at any given time and these subsidy programs do not last forever. I hung up the phone and called back to the same agent after I fact checked him. I've worked with other consolidation companies and they have all given me false information. That is the only reason I'm leaving a review, because Docuprep has never falsified information during my consolidation and didn't make me feel rushed.

Review: In October 2015 we received a letter/brochure from Docuprep advertising loan consolidation services for my husband's student loans. I called and discussed our options with a rep who took me right into the process and asked for my husband's personal information. Thinking this was a credible service, I provided the information and then was charged $699 to have docuprep complete the following: put our loan into forbearance, consolidate the loans and lower the payment by extending out the terms.

We received no follow up information or communication from docuprep on the status of the process. As the forbearance period was ending, we got worried that we would miss a loan payment so I called in to follow up. I was told that nothing had happened with the repayment plan but they could "make it happen" right now live on the phone. Through a three-way call, the payment plan was reinstated. I then asked for a refund of $699 because they did complete their job and I had to make sure things were done. I was told a supervisor would call me back. After three months and numerous phone calls and conversations with reps who come up with every reason not to help me, I am still waiting for my refund. I have been told numerous times that they completed what they said they would do but they did not. Our loans were never consolidated. In fact they are still with the same loan provider as before. The only thing docuprep did on their own was put our loans into forbearance. They did not complete the services promised. They supposedly have a satisfaction guaranteed message and we are not satisfied at all.

I had to ensure that our loan repayment plan was processed, they did not do this until I made sure it was taken care of. They never consolidated our loans as they were supposed to either. Docuprep merely made promises to fulfill obligations that they did not fulfill yet still took our money along with our personal information. We are not satisfied customers.Desired Settlement: I have asked numerous times and again will request that the $699 fee that I was charged be refunded. This is due to fact that the services that were agreed to were not completed. We are not satisfied with this service.

Review: I received in the mail information stating that I was eligible for student loan forgiveness through the department of education. I called DocuPrep Center who sent me this mail, and they walked me through why I was eligible as well as the process. DocuPrep would prepare forbearance forms and send them to the Department of Education to process. The Department of Education would take over these loans, relieving me from paying my student loans through my lender, FedLoan servicing. After getting the details of this process I told the person whom I spoke with that I would consider. After I consented to apply to this program, I was informed that there would be a $699 charge. I again said that I would consider because I did not have the money for this. The representative was very persistent and against my better judgement, I electronically applied and provided information including banking information. I was charged the $699 and the result was nothing.

DocuPrep center charged me $699 and there was no result. My lender (FedLoan servicing) told me that my request was denied. I as well called my bank and they told me that they cannot dispute such a charge. After careful research online I am seeing how much of a mistake this was. Companies like this prey on students fresh out of college who are so heavily in debt that they will go to great lengths to get out of debt. DocuPrep solicited services that they did not perform.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for the $699 that DocuPrep charged me through their third party vendor, Reliant Account Management LLC (RAM). As well, I want to ensure that future charges from this vendor are not incurred.

Most importantly, I want it to be know that this "company" DocuPrep Center is in fact a hoax.

I initially got a notice in the mail regarding my student loans and I was curious what it was all about so I called them. They told me that I may be eligible for ways to reduce my payments and help alleviate my current financial situation. The adviser took me through the process and he was able to get my into the Income Based Repayment Program with a $0 payment which is amazing and I am eternally grateful. My loans were in default and on the verge of wage garnishment so they saved my butt. Without the notice I received I would've never even been aware of ANY of these federal programs so I appreciate the patience and efficiency of docuprep center

Review: This Loan servicer company promised to complete paperwork and consolidate my loans for me at a cost of $599.00. I agreed to pay this, because they said this would eliminate the middle man and my interest rates would be lowered and my payments would be 0$ Based on my income. They took the money out of my account and then sent a letter saying the consolidation could not be completed because there was already a consolidation in process with another company. I tried to get ahold of them to resolve the issue, but their voice mail box is full and I can not even leave a message. They basically took my money and ran. I later found out, this service can be done for free.Desired Settlement: I would like my money refunded. I would also like others to be aware of these scammers so no one else gets money stolen from them. Especially broke kids right out of college like myself.

Was afraid at first to be giving personal information over the phone but am glad in doing so because I have been overpaying my student loans for 3 years now and DocuPrep saved me 36,000 dollars. Highly recommended
