Dodge Moving & Storage Co Inc Reviews (27)

We have photos that show no physical damage to the dryer.  If Dodge would have paid out at $.60 per pound it would have been $90.00.  As a good will gesture Dodge will pay $45.00.

They were NOT goodwill credits, they overcharged me and finally corrected after days and hours of fighting with them. They had inadequate staff and thus this is why damage occurred. THEY are lying, the manager flat out...

said the man was uncontrollable and defiant, They have never sent an additional check. I claimed everything prior to any additional moves and they were notified. They authorized all above repairs via email then recanted. UNACCEPTABLE services provided that resulted in damages they are not repairing. ONLY 3 mover arrived it has nothing to do with packers.

I had Dodge Moving move my Senior Apartment. Everything was done with acvordance to their estimate. Everything was carefully moved and on-time. I was very.much pleased.

We used Dodge Mayflower some 20 years ago for a company sponsored move. When we were recently ready to move to a new house they submitted a competitive bid and we decided to go with them. The actual move went well. There was some damage to the new house, and some damage to our furniture. That's where Dodge fell apart. There was a significant scratch to new wood floors that we did not notice until after they left. They refused to cover it. Mind you, this was a brand new house. They refused other aspects of our claim as well. They did send us a check to cover some damages, but the person that Dodge uses to repair did not return multiple phone calls or emails to schedule. When I finally did reach him, he canceled the appointment on the day of and never rescheduled. I gave up and had to find other repair people which took considerable time. The check they gave us did not cover the repairs from these outside people. And then, of course, there's the scratch on the floor that will cost thousands of dollars to repair.

The biggest insult was as follows. The person they sent to bid on the move, whose name was "[redacted]", underbid. Our move actually took longer than she expected, but we had a "not to exceed" clause in our contract. She wanted us to pay half the costs of the additional hours. I guess she was somehow responsible for Dodge taking the loss. I felt that was completely out of line. We would have gone with a competitor if their initial bid had been that high.

The aftermath of the move with Dodge was very stressful and costly. Go with someone else.

Note when our crews carry the furniture it is generally not padded or wrapped. The furniture including this TV are padded and wrapped when on the truck and When being transported. We want to...

stress again that the T.V. was wrapped while being transported, for safety reason T.V.'s along with most other furniture are un-wrapped prior to being carried in order to make sure the movers can grip them securely. Finally moving in the state of Illinois is a regulated industry, all movers are licensed and operate under a published tariff. Customers have the choice as to what valuation they would like their goods covered for when they relocate. If a customer chooses to not purchase valuation, the carrier is obligated to provide .30 lb. coverage. The signed paper work indicates that you choose and signed for .30 lb. coverage. We did settle this claim at .30 lb., you did receive that check. In order to bring this matter to a close Dodge is willing to offer and additional $100.00 of goodwill. Please acknowledge your acceptance of this amount and we will immediately send that check out.

Please see our response within the customer original complaint.   Customer’s Statement of the Problem: I used this company to move my household belongings from three storage units to my new house. The drivers overwhelmed us at the delivery address and were very pushy and impatient...

with unloading the boxed items. It became so overwhelming that I had them begin to stack them in my garage because they were coming at me with 6-8 boxes at a time asking where they go.    Since your estimate and payment is based on time, our crews try to be as efficient as possible.  I apologize if it overwhelmed you.  That was not their intention. The guys worked hard carrying heavy items therefore at the conclusion I tipped each of them 60.00 even though I was left with the responsibility of taking all of my boxes to the appropriate rooms or basement for storage.  I know our men appreciate the tip and again our apology if they were making you feel overwhelmed and rushed.   After unpacking I had one box that did not arrive. This box was labeled [redacted] AND BASEMENT ELECTRONICS. It contained an [redacted], several games, an [redacted], a [redacted] box, and other electronic devices.  Our trucks are cleaned out at the end of the day and no boxes were left behind on the truck used for your move.  Total replacement cost of these items is over 1000.00. Dodge has attempted to settle this for less than 50.00 due to the policies they are stating in effect.   At the time of your estimate our salesperson gave you options to purchase valuation coverage for your move.  Your choice was to go with the free valuation option of .60 cents a pound per article; on the day of the move you also signed for this free .60 lb. coverage and declined additional coverage.  They multiplied what they feel is the appropriate weight of the box by pennies and cut me two checks.  .  We use the Joint Military/Industry Table of Weights and Depreciation Guide to calculate what amount is due you if items are damaged.  Per your chosen valuation we made the appropriate settlement. I have not cashed either check. The movers took several items that were loose in my storage unit and threw them in boxes they created. This caused a picture frame to be broke as well.  In the end we did send you checks for both the broken frame and the missing box at the appropriate .60lb coverage.  Finally; you moved out of a self-storage locker and you did all the packing yourself.  Dodge was contracted to move the contents of the self-storage but we would have no way to verify the contents of an individual box since we did not pack the boxes and could not verify the contents of the boxes.Proposed Additional Settlement: We apologize that your move did not go as expected.   After you contacted us concerning your claim settlement, we did send you a second check as a goodwill gesture.  In an effort to bring resolve to this matter, Dodge will send you an additional goodwill check in the amount of $100.  Please advise if you are in agreement with this, and we will have that sent to you this week. [redacted]@dodgemoving.com
