great service
developed a reoccurring ant problem- not a lot and not connected to food but tiny black ants just kept appearing and I'd treat them and then they would reappear somewhere else in the house.
We called, Dodson set up an appointment the next day, and Paige came out right on time.
She was able to clearly explain service options, and we selected a scheduled treatment plan; more visits the first year and then scheduled treatments around the outside of our house. We think it is thorough and includes termites and other small pests.
We were very satisfied with Dodson's programs and with Paige's service.

Did not get service we paid for!!!!
We hired them to go into all our units at 5 properties in Greensboro once a month to treat for roaches. Tenants kept telling us they were not showing up for months. I decided to be on a property on the day they were scheduled to come out and witness the tech get out of his vehicle; go to one small building; squirt about 3 squirts on the foundation and get back into his vehicle. I then asked him why he did not knock and go into any homes as our contract stated. He stated he was told he does not have to go in unless we called for specific units. Mind you our contract was written based on units treated. I called and complained and canceled the contract. I would tell all property management companies to stay away from this company unless you want to micromanage we wasted a lot of money with them and did not get the service we thought we were getting. They then continued to send us bills and threatened to place us in the credit collections to mess up our credit if we did not pay. So we paid the extortion fee and parted way!

I have reviewed the latest response of the complainant in reference to complaint ID [redacted] Dodson Brothers Pest Control refers back to the contractual agreement that clearly stated what the service treatment was for, Carpenter Bees and Carpenter AntsThe complainant states “I understand now that the treatment given to my house in was for Carpenter Bees and Carpenter Ants.” The contractual agreement was supplied to the customer before any work was performed, clearly stating Carpenter Bees and Carpenter Ants, with no reference to Paper Wasp as a part of the contractThis would have been the time to question entering into the contract and the content of the contractThe only factual basis that Dodson can rest on is this signed contractEverything else is hearsayDodson regrets that the complainant is upset, however, Dodson feels they have lived up to the service that they were originally contracted to perform[redacted] ***

my house for a re-inspectionI called Dodson in *** and left

This correspondence is in response to the request for response
that I received on 1/7/relative to complaint ID #*** The complainant
references in the first paragraph that “for your reference, details of the
offer I received appear below.” I am attaching another copy of the original
Carpenter Bee and Carpenter Ant Agreement and contract to this correspondence
and responseNo wasp serviced is referencedIn the second paragraph the
complainant states that “I was told the treatment signed for and given to my house would fix the problem for the wasp.” I requested such a copy of an agreement
that the complainant might have in their possession yet have not seen it to
dateI, *** ***, did have the conversation with the complainant in
September that offered a visit and service to the home of the complainant to
knock down multiple paper wasp nest, based on the complainant assuring me that
they had a “Life Time” wasp guarantee agreement with Dodson Brothers Pest
Control with the complainants knowledge from me that Dodson doesn’t offer such
a serviceI was traveling at the time without the benefit of any customer files
in front of meI think some of the confusion relative to any “Life Time” agreement
might have to do with the fact that this residence has had a termite renewal on
it with a previous owner of the home that the complainant picked up when they purchased
the homeAs long as an annual renewal fee of $is paid and kept up annually
on this home it can potentially be in place for the life of the homeThe
complainant states again that “she didn’t know anything about the existence of
Carpenter Bees and Carpenter Ants at the time” of the serviced, yet, the attached
Carpenter Bee & Carpenter Ant Agreement was signed prior to the actual
service with time to communicate to Dodson that Carpenter Bee and Ant service
wasn’t what the complainant understood she was to be receivingDodson Brothers
celebrated their 70th Anniversary this past August and has years
of history of compassion, understanding, and going beyond our customer’s
expectations
With all this said, I will see to it that Dodson Brothers
provides a complimentary “wasp” service to the complainant’s home within the
next two (2) weeks, as well as a complimentary follow up service and treatment
in August of which would be approaching the paper wasp seasonAny
additional services, specifically for paper wasp at this residence in the future
will have to co-inside with the entering and signing of an Every-Other-Month
Pest Control Agreement if paper wasp are the target pest

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolvedI would like to add that I do not believe I informed anyone that I had a "Life Time" wasp guarantee and if anything I did say led to this belief, then I offer my most sincere apologiesThe only reason I accepted the service agreement for carpenter bees and ants was because that is what *** recommended to me in response to my complaint about waspsI trusted him to tell me what was needed for the complaint I voiced to himI wish he had recommended the appropriate form of treatment at the time so this matter never would have had to go this farI would like to thank Mr*** for his willingness to work with me and for the offer to resolve this matterI hope there are no hard feelings as I would very much like to continue a good and long-term relationship with Dodson Brothers

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
While I appreciate Mr***'s response it is unfortunate that it has taken a complaint to the Revdex.com in order to get a response at allI understand now that the treatment given to my house in was for Carpenter Bees and Carpenter Ants, which are Wood Destroying Insects and that Paper Wasps (the problem I have been experiencing all along) is a separate issueWhen I initially spoke with *** at Dodson in about the Paper Wasps, at no time was there a discussion regarding Carpenter Bees and AntsI was informed the treatment he recommended would help with the wasp problemI had not seen any evidence of carpenter bees or ants and again, this was never discussed*** recommended treatment to assist with the wasp problem and told me it would cost $I also appreciate the copy of the Service Agreement Mr*** provided in his response, which was indeed signed by my father, *** *** as I was unable to get time off work that dayHowever the copy given to my father at the time is nowhere as clear as the copy given with this responseMr*** noted in his response that the paper wasp treatment "requires a completely different service protocol, focusing on exterior surfaces of the homes and businesses as well as on and around trees and ornamental growth associated with structures." Why wasn't this service recommended to me instead of treatment for Carpenter Bees and Ants? Why was treatment recommended for something I didn't have a problem with? Additionally I dispute Mr***'s comments "by customer's own admission Dodson has responded to calls regarding concerns regarding 'wasp' above and beyond what we were contracted to control." I have never stated or implied thisAdditionally, to the best of my knowledge no one has come out to knock down the wasp nests as Mr*** said he would request as a courtesyGiven that I have paid $for a service I didn't request and by Mr***'s statement, didn't receive as it required a completely different service protocol, I still feel full reimbursement is warranted

The fact that I have to provide evidence to this matter is ridiculous, but here they are. And to add, the fact that you have said you have tried to reach out to me and my husband is a lie. Me nor my husband have received any calls regarding the bats. I would like to see proof of that, since I had to have my proof. And lastly how would anyone know that if I was or was not living in my house when we were experiencing these issues. A bat flew around my sons head, why on Earth would I let him be around anything like that? So yes I would like half of the refund since I have provided you proofRegards,[redacted]

I have reviewed [redacted] response. I regret that she has interpreted my response as a challenge to her original report or a denial of her request for a partial refund. Neither of those things was intended. My response was intended to say that my understanding of the circumstances is different than hers, and I need a clearer understanding of what has happened in order to properly evaluate her request. I am still willing to consider a partial refund but I need to talk to her beforehand. Please ask her to call me. The office number is 304-622-7676 and my cell number is [redacted]

I have reviewed the latest response of the complainant in reference to complaint ID [redacted]. Dodson Brothers Pest Control refers back to the contractual agreement that clearly stated what the service treatment was for, Carpenter Bees and Carpenter Ants. The complainant states “I understand now that the treatment given to my house in 2013 was for Carpenter Bees and Carpenter Ants.”  The contractual agreement was supplied to the customer before any work was performed, clearly stating Carpenter Bees and Carpenter Ants, with no reference to Paper Wasp as a part of the contract. This would have been the time to question entering into the contract and the content of the contract. The only factual basis that Dodson can rest on is this signed contract. Everything else is hearsay. Dodson regrets that the complainant is upset, however, Dodson feels they have lived up to the service that they were originally contracted to perform.[redacted]

I am in receipt of your October 12 letter that outlines a complaint from [redacted]. I have made daily attempts to contact [redacted] and have left numerous messages for her to contact me. To date, I have yet to hear back from her. [redacted] is correct in her statement that Dodson...

completed a bat control service on the property in August 2016, done under the name of [redacted] During our inspector's original assessment, the [redacted] expressed an interest in completing the work as inexpensively as possible and volunteered to complete some of the work themselves. Part of the work the [redacted] were to complete themselves was to create an access opening in the ceiling because the attic would be inaccessible otherwise. Afterwards, the [redacted] chose to not create this access opening, so Dodson created the opening at no additional charge to the [redacted]. I was made aware that the [redacted] continued to experience more problems with bats after the service was completed and Dodson employees returned for more corrective service. I have personally been to the property since then, and before this complaint was filed. I did not find any evidence of a continuing bat problem. I have been under the impression that the [redacted] continue to live in the home every day. My purpose in trying to contact [redacted] was to make arrangements to see the pictures and videos she mentions in her complaint. I am willing to consider the partial refund she requested when I am able to see the evidence that they continued to have bats after our follow-up service. Please ask her to call me to make arrangements to show me the pictures and video. Sincerely, [redacted]

This correspondence is in reply, and response to the Revdex.com Case # [redacted] regarding alleged service issues by Dodson Brothers Pest Control. The service location in question is at [redacted] A Carpenter Bee and Carpenter Ant Service Agreement was processed...

on March 3rd, 2013 for work to be performed at the residence in question. The business arrangements and individual that secured Dodson’s services and signed for the work to be performed was a  [redacted] who Dodson understands to be the father of the concerned party. Carpenter Bees and Carpenter Ants are considered to be Wood Destroying Insects in the State of North Carolina and require very specific treatment protocols due to their wood boring characteristics and tendencies to harbor and infest wood building materials in and around a home or business. These species of insects have to be controlled spraying and the injection of pesticides that penetrate in to the interior of the wood and the galleries that the insects harbor in, to eliminate Carpenter Bee and Ant harborage areas. The customer references “wasp” in this complaint which is a group of numerous different species of stinging insects often referred to as “paper wasp”. This type insect is called a paper wasp because of the cellulose (paper) material that they utilize to construct their nest on the exterior surfaces of homes, buildings, and in trees and ornamental plants around the exterior of structures. These species of insects requires a completely different service protocol, focusing on exterior surfaces of homes and businesses as well as on and around trees and ornamental growth associated with structures. They are not considered Wood Destroying Insects, with wood destroying (wood boring) characteristics.  Paper wasp treatment and control requires an Every-Other-Month (E.O.M.) Pest Control Service Agreement with Dodson which the customer doesn’t have. At the customers own admission Dodson has responded to calls regarding concerns regarding “wasp” above and beyond what we were contracted to control in the March 3rd, 2013 Service Agreement. I refer back to the attached original Service Agreement that states that payment arrangements were agreed upon, and signed for by a  [redacted] with expectations of payments coming with the completion of the work as noted in the payment section of the agreement. Dodson appears to extended terms to the customer far past what the original Service Agreement documented. In closing, there appears to be communication issues by both parties relative to this complaint. I regret that information (the Service Agreement) that I thought was forwarded to the concerned customer apparently didn’t reach the customer. The attached Service Agreement answers a lot of the documented concerns that the concerned customer has and is attached to this correspondence for all party’s records.Respectfully Submitted,[redacted]

Review: We have a contract with Dodson where we pay them $90 a year and they inspect for termites. Every year I send money and it is difficult to get them here to inspect. This year I called on May 10th and scheduled an appointment for June 16th. They never came. Instead, they called my home and left a message to say they were going to be at my home on August 10th. We were out of town so they were unable to complete the termite inspection.Desired Settlement: Dodson says they will come to inspect another time. I just want anyone trying to decide what pest control to use to see that Dodson Pest Control is a company you don't want to choose.

Business

Response:

A goal of our Company is to treat each customer promptly and professionally on a daily basis. We performed the initial treatment to the home in 2007 and have conducted yearly inspections since then. The office called Ms. [redacted] as soon as we realized that we could not complete the inspection on the original scheduled day. We then called with a rescheduled day and completed the inspection this week. The local manager and myself have left a message for Ms. [redacted] to make sure she was satisfied with the inspection and are awaiting her return call. No covered pest concerns were found on our inspection so we consider this issue resolved.

Response:

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Dodson's obligation was fulfilled in a friendly manner. My concern is not just this year but every year I have difficulty scheduling my inspection. I want it on record so that, as stated in my original complaint, when someone is trying to choose a pest control company they think twice before choosing Dodson.

Regards,

Review: On April 13, 2016, Dodson Inspector [redacted] inspected our property and gave us a written quote of $4500 to rid the property of Old House Borers, Powder Post Beetles, Subterranean Termites, Wood Decay Fungi and to change damaged insulation. He also stated that the termite work would be guarenteed for 10 years and the other work would be guarenteed for life.

Upon completion of the work on May 17, 2016, a worker told me that approximately $1000 of additional work would be required to assure that the Powder Post Beetle and Wood Borer problems would be resolved. On May 21, 2016, I received one year Service Agreement Warranties for termites and fungi ONLY.Desired Settlement: I request that all of the problems be resolved for $4500, as shown in the original quote.

Business

Response:

This complaint has been resolved to Mr. [redacted] satisfaction. There was a misunderstanding regarding some additional work that had ben discussed with Mr. [redacted]. The additional work did not impact the warranty that Dodson offered on his original services. The misunderstanding has been resolved, and Mr. [redacted] has paid in full for services rendered. His original warranties for termites, powder post beetles, and fungi were not impacted in any way. Dodson believes the Revdex.com can close this file as resolved.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved. This action would be the issuance of a Warranty that includes powder post beetles and wood borers.

We've dealt with Dodson Pest Control for more than a decade now. We had a different company but they insisted we did not have problems when we knew we did. Though under warranty with a different company, we did our homework and discovered that NC and SC had more than one type of termite, and the insecticide used by most did not address this more aggressive type of termite from another country and known to be in only five states at the time. We checked and determined the best chemical, price, etc. Then we searched to see who among all the pest control companies used this. WE FOUND THAT DODSON USED THIS CHEMICAL WHERE NEEDED. DODSON was in VA and we live in NC. We requested service and they found what we had already had checked - exactly where we knew the problems to be. Dodson did a great job and we dropped the other company and use ONLY DODSON since. You can trust them and we have be very pleased with the service and result all these years. Need a pest control company. We think they are the best.

I have hired Dodson pest Control twice. Two years ago we hired them to spray our home for ants. Every month they sprayed and we never saw a decline in the ants but believed that they were doing everything they could. Then a week ago we hired them again to inspect for termites. Our home is for sale and in a purchasing agreement we have to obtain a clear termite letter which Dodson was aware of. There were no signs of termites but a small area of wood had some damage that from a water leak we had so the inspector told us he could not write a clean termite letter without treating for termites. So even though no signs of termites we had to pay $900 for termite treatment so the contract for the sale of our home could continue. The letter Dodson sent to the real estate agent read that we were treated for termites based upon a board in the crawl space having some damage that could have been previous termite or water damage. So know we have to hire a contractor to come tell us if this damage is structure. I believe Dodson knew because our house was under contract to be sold and it was a time sensitive matter that they took full advantage of us and the situation. If you hire them to inspect or treat your home or business I would suggest getting a second opinion before you pay them for anything.

Review: When we entered into a service agreement, I was told after 12 months of service I would be able to have the pest control associate come to my house on an "as needed basis." After my 12 months were up I contacted Dodson by phone to instruct them I would not need their continued service at this time. I then received a bill for service (after I asked them to halt). I will pay the bill but am not happy they have charged me for a month I did not ask for or authorize.Desired Settlement: It's only a matter of 60 dollars for me. However, I am sure this happens to others. I want to inform the Revdex.com this has happened to me to make you aware of potential future issues with Dodson.

Business

Response:

I left a message for [redacted] to call and have not heard back . This account was cancelled almost 1 year ago so I am puzzled why this would it is coming up now. On the back of our agreements it states that after the initial term of our agreement expires it continues on a month by month basis until it is cancelled by either party. We looked back at our call books, in the file and spoke to the technician and we could not find any record of this being cancelled before the date of 10-3-2014. We did provide a service to the home and we suspended service when we were told to do so. I regret this happened , but I can assure you that we do not take advantage of anyone and if we were made aware of the situation in 2014 instead of a year later the outcome might have been different. Dodson Brothers has an outstanding reputation and we would not have stayed in business for over 71 years if we did not take care of our customers. [redacted]

Review: In early 2013 I contacted my service rep named [redacted] at Dodson to advise of a problem I was having of paper wasps getting into my house. He came out to inspect the problem and advised me he could spray the outside of the house with a chemical which would get rid of them or at least reduce the possibility of them getting into the house as well as kill the nests. He said it would cost me around $2,000. I told him I did not have enough money to pay that in a lump sum and he offered to let me pay in monthly installments. (Which he had previously offered for a prior service in 2009) I agreed. I was told the work was not able to be completed until the fall of 2013 because the temperature had to be just right; not too hot, humid or damp. When I received my bill it was for the full amount. I began making monthly installments and in December I was contacted by [redacted] at the [redacted] office telling me if I did not pay the entire amount they would turn me over to collections. She said since [redacted] did not put on my service agreement 'installment plan' I couldn't pay it on a monthly basis. I tried several times to reach [redacted] by phone, left several messages and never received a call back. I paid the balance owed in full. In early 2014 I began killing 20-50 wasps per week and took photos. I called Dodson in [redacted] again for assistance. I received no response. After contacting the Virginia office they put me in touch with someone from [redacted], (I think) who kindly came out and surveyed everything. He assured me the treatment was done and done properly and I should notice a decrease in the wasps. If I had any more problems I should call and they would come out. I had no further problems until late September 2014. The wasps were back and the nests were re-populating. I called the [redacted] office and the [redacted] office leaving several messages the week of September 22nd; none of which were returned. I called the Virginia office and explained my problem. I was told the Regional Manager/Director would call me. I spoke with [redacted] on Thursday, October 25th. He listened to my concerns and assured me he would send someone out "as a courtesy" to knock down the nests. He said he would also order a copy of my file to see exactly what was done, what the intent of the treatment was and to determine any warranty. (I never received any paperwork telling me what was done, why it was done or providing any warranty information) He assured me he would call me back the following week. I heard nothing. I lost a beloved pet the end of September so I didn't follow up with Mr. [redacted] until 10/27 upon my return from vacation. I left him a voice message on that date and again on 11/4 asking for a return call with the status of my case as well as having the nests knocked down. I still have not heard from anyone. The wasps are back and are flying all over my house and in the eaves. I have even had several come into the house.Desired Settlement: At this time I respectfully request all paperwork showing what was sprayed on my house in 2013, the intent and any warranty information. I would also like Mr. [redacted] to remain true to his word in sending someone out to knock down the nests. Finally, because I have made so many phone calls, left so many messages - all without a response and had to be inconvenienced in taking time out of my day to contact the Revdex.com with my complaint am because I am still having problems with the wasps I feel reimbursement of the full fee I paid ($2,000) would be sufficient to resolve my case. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

While I appreciate Mr. [redacted]'s response it is unfortunate that it has taken a complaint to the Revdex.com in order to get a response at all. I understand now that the treatment given to my house in 2013 was for Carpenter Bees and Carpenter Ants, which are Wood Destroying Insects and that Paper Wasps (the problem I have been experiencing all along) is a separate issue. When I initially spoke with [redacted] at Dodson in 2013 about the Paper Wasps, at no time was there a discussion regarding Carpenter Bees and Ants. I was informed the treatment he recommended would help with the wasp problem. I had not seen any evidence of carpenter bees or ants and again, this was never discussed. [redacted] recommended treatment to assist with the wasp problem and told me it would cost $1800. I also appreciate the copy of the Service Agreement Mr. [redacted] provided in his response, which was indeed signed by my father, [redacted] as I was unable to get time off work that day. However the copy given to my father at the time is nowhere as clear as the copy given with this response. Mr. [redacted] noted in his response that the paper wasp treatment "requires a completely different service protocol, focusing on exterior surfaces of the homes and businesses as well as on and around trees and ornamental growth associated with structures." Why wasn't this service recommended to me instead of treatment for Carpenter Bees and Ants? Why was treatment recommended for something I didn't have a problem with? Additionally I dispute Mr. [redacted]'s comments "by customer's own admission Dodson has responded to calls regarding concerns regarding 'wasp' above and beyond what we were contracted to control." I have never stated or implied this. Additionally, to the best of my knowledge no one has come out to knock down the wasp nests as Mr. [redacted] said he would request as a courtesy. Given that I have paid $1800 for a service I didn't request and by Mr. [redacted]'s statement, didn't receive as it required a completely different service protocol, I still feel full reimbursement is warranted.

Response:

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Once again, it was never explained to me (until this complaint was filed) that the treatment given to my house in 2013 was NOT for wasps. I was told the treatment signed for and given to my house would fix the problem for the wasps. I am a layperson when it comes to matters of Pest Control and rely on the professionals to explain things thoroughly and completely. I trusted Dodson to advise me what needed to be done to my house to help with the wasp problem and took them at their word that the treatment given would help with this problem. I still do not understand why the proper treatment wasn't recommended at the time. I didn't know anything about the existence of carpenter bees and ants at the time. All I knew was there were (and still are) wasps getting in my house. This was explained to the representative at the time of my initial phone call to report the problem in 2013. Additionally, the wasps nests still haven't been knocked down as I was told they would be back in September of this year. Also, I received a letter from Dodson in October of this year requesting to come to

my house for a re-inspection. I called Dodson in [redacted] and left

a voice message asking for a call back to agree on a date to meet them

there and no one has returned my call. If Dodson hasn't followed through on their word from 3 months ago or returned any phone calls, what faith can I possibly have that services were rendered in 2013 as they should have been; for the wasps and not carpenter bees/ants? I am not looking for someone to admit fault here. I am just looking for a little compassion, understanding and some restitution since the problem I reported and the treatment given were not for the same thing and I am still experiencing problems with wasps and now must pay someone to do what should have been done last year. Thank you.

complainant states that “I was told the treatment signed for and given to my house would fix the problem for the wasp.” I requested such a copy of an agreement

that the complainant might have in their possession yet have not seen it to

date. I, [redacted], did have the conversation with the complainant in

September that offered a visit and service to the home of the complainant to

knock down multiple paper wasp nest, based on the complainant assuring me that

they had a “Life Time” wasp guarantee agreement with Dodson Brothers Pest

Control with the complainants knowledge from me that Dodson doesn’t offer such

a service. I was traveling at the time without the benefit of any customer files

in front of me. I think some of the confusion relative to any “Life Time” agreement

might have to do with the fact that this residence has had a termite renewal on

it with a previous owner of the home that the complainant picked up when they purchased

the home. As long as an annual renewal fee of $95.00 is paid and kept up annually

on this home it can potentially be in place for the life of the home. The

complainant states again that “she didn’t know anything about the existence of

Carpenter Bees and Carpenter Ants at the time” of the serviced, yet, the attached

Carpenter Bee & Carpenter Ant Agreement was signed prior to the actual

service with time to communicate to Dodson that Carpenter Bee and Ant service

wasn’t what the complainant understood she was to be receiving. Dodson Brothers

celebrated their 70th Anniversary this past August and has 70 years

of history of compassion, understanding, and going beyond our customer’s

expectations.

With all this said, I will see to it that Dodson Brothers

provides a complimentary “wasp” service to the complainant’s home within the

next two (2) weeks, as well as a complimentary follow up service and treatment

in August of 2015 which would be approaching the paper wasp season. Any

additional services, specifically for paper wasp at this residence in the future

will have to co-inside with the entering and signing of an Every-Other-Month

Pest Control Agreement if paper wasp are the target pest.

Sincerely,

Dodson Brothers Pest Control

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved. I would like to add that I do not believe I informed anyone that I had a "Life Time" wasp guarantee and if anything I did say led to this belief, then I offer my most sincere apologies. The only reason I accepted the service agreement for carpenter bees and ants was because that is what [redacted] recommended to me in response to my complaint about wasps. I trusted him to tell me what was needed for the complaint I voiced to him. I wish he had recommended the appropriate form of treatment at the time so this matter never would have had to go this far. I would like to thank Mr. [redacted] for his willingness to work with me and for the offer to resolve this matter. I hope there are no hard feelings as I would very much like to continue a good and long-term relationship with Dodson Brothers.

Regards,

Review: On August 26, 2013 I arrived home at the same time the service technician arrived. I explained to the service technician that services would not be able to be performed that day. (Side note I work as a critical care nurse and work both 24 hour shifts and 12 hour 3p-3a shifts and needed to sleep that day). The service technician got verbally aggressive towards me about the need to perform the services and that he needed my new phone number. (The number had been given repeatedly to the Staunton office). I told the technician again that service could not be performed this particular day. There has been an ongoing issue with this technician as his preference is to service my home at 630am-that is not acceptable and again multiple calls to the Staunton office have been made about that and not one call returned. As this technician continued to be verbally aggressive he then took a step towards me that I found threatening as a single female. At this time I asked him to get off my property. He was very rude, unprofessional and inappropriate. As soon as he left I locked all my doors and began making phone calls to Dodson. Very difficult to get ahold of anyone. Lots of excuses. Lots of leaving my number. Finally called the Lynchburg office and spoke with a kind lady. She passed info alo to a regional service manager that called me back assuring this would be handled/addressed/fixed. I also cancelled my account that day. Fourteen days later I get a bill in the mail for service that was not provided that day. Again make multiple phone calls and have very difficult time getting in touch with anyone. Finally get ahold of regional service manager who tells me that he will personally see to the bill. Im not paying for service not performed. Now again I have a bill for this. Difficult to get ahold of anyone and the MANAGER at Staunton tells me this is the 1st time he has heard of any of this issue. I now wish that I had contacted the local PD while this technician was still on my property that day in August. Maybe then things would be handled differently. This is an employee that should not be servicing the homes of single women/single mothers with the obvious aggression issues. My issues are this 1) Dodson is employing an individual that was verbally aggressive and threatening to a customer 2) there is no accountability 3) NO ONE calls back when you leave your name and number 4) continuous billing for services not rendered 5) the MANAGER in the regional office is "just hearing about this" today????????????Desired Settlement: Amount owed taken off my account. I refuse to pay for services that were not rendered. This technician needs to be fired or placed in a desk job where he can be observed and attend anger management classes.

Response:

Dodson Pest Control discontinued [redacted]’s pest control services immediately upon her request. Ms. [redacted] was never for charged August 2013 services because the technician did not render the services. Ms. [redacted] received another statement in October because the July 2013 service had not been paid. Dodson has adjusted Ms. [redacted]’s balance to eliminate the July service charge. This adjustment was made as a customer courtesy because Dodson had serviced Ms. [redacted]’s home for many years. Ms. [redacted]’s account now shows a zero balance and she should not receive any more bills. The previous past-due balance for the July service has not been reported to any of the credit reporting agencies. Dodson is of the belief that this response should enable Revdex.com to effectively close the complaint.

Response:

Two grave concerns remain with this company.1) the lack of communication amongst management team members and 2) the employment of a technician with unprofessional behavior. While on the phone with regional management, after receiving the first bill, that individual confirmed it was for the August service (again service that was never performed). When speaking, on numerous occasions, with the administrative assistants in the local office, I was repeatedly told that the bill, which had also been in dispute, was for service in August. So I have to ask-what is the true story??? The August service, that was in question, was never provided as I had to ask the technician to leave my property because I found is behavior to not only be blatantly unprofessional but threatening as well. As a single female I will not tolerate such disrespect. This behavior was brought up to management immediately on both the local and regional levels as well as in the following days and weeks numerous times in conversations and voice mails were left, trying to 1) find a resolution and 2) get someone to understand the potential risks of such behavior. On repeated occasions I was told by more than one management staff member that this was the first time they had heard of this complaint....however, noting in the records I kept of my conversations with Dodson, I had spoken with each of these individuals in the weeks prior regarding my concerns. I also had management team members tell me that the complaint had not been shared with others in appropriate departments as I had been assured that it would be. I did not just find this lack of communication on the local level but with the regional office as well. It disturbs me greatly the disrespect and disregard Dodson has shown for their customer's concerns. To this day no one from the regional office has made an effort to contact me about my concerns-though I was told that they would. Therefore, in good faith, I can not only not accept this resolution but I can also not recommend Dodson to anyone.

Response:

This is in reference to the above complaint which the Revdex.com had previously recorded as "closed", but Revdex.com subsequently received additional information from the customer. I am including a computer printout of Ms. [redacted]'s account history with Dodson which shows all transactions from January 2012 through November 2013. The "debit" column in the center of the page reflects charges that were placed on the account because services were rendered. It is not too difficult to see that the last charge placed on Ms. [redacted]'s account was July 24, 2013. The "credit" column reflects payments or adjustments that were made. The "PYH" code means the customer paid their bill, and this code was used for all credits except for October 18, 2013. The "CAN" code for that credit was for a write-off of the July 2013 service. Nothing at all happened on her account balances from July 24, 2013 until October 18, 2013. Dodson has no reason to believe that anyone within Dodson's administrative offices could have possibly interpreted any of this to mean Ms. [redacted]'s account incurred a charge for August 2013; there is no evidence of a charge of any kind. Ms. [redacted] makes a reference to leaving voicemail messages on our phone system but did not receive return calls. Our phone system in Staunton is not equipped to accept voicemails. Ms. [redacted] is correct that no one from the regional office in Roanoke ever called her about her complaint. There is no record of any type, neither email nor phone messages, that indicate any contact whatsoever regarding Ms. [redacted]'s account until her original Revdex.com complaint was filed. No one from the regional office ever knew there was a complaint to resolve until the Revdex.com complaint. Ms. [redacted]'s complaint about the behavior of the technician has been addressed. Dodson does not believe it appropriate to disclose the outcome to Ms. [redacted] or the Revdex.com. Sincerely, [redacted] Western Regional Manager

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. How very disturbing that Dodson can not simply tell the truth. Voice mail were left at the Lynchburg office and YES voice mails were left for individuals associated with the Staunton office. I actually spoke to [redacted] on two occasions. I will not post my bank account on here clearly showing the auto-draft for all of my services. Dodson continues to not only ignore the issue of extremely poor communication/lack of communication but is now telling lies about the times I repeatedly tried to contact them-all of the records I have now turned over to my legal counsel at their request. I filed my complain to initial find resolution to a problem that Dodson showed no interest in resolving. As Dodson continues to misrepresent the story, provide inaccurate information and tell lies I am forced to continue this issue with my legal counsel. The facts are quite simple-they have in their employment an unprofessionl inappropriate technician, multiple phone calls were made and multiple voice mails left for individuals that never returned calls, when contact was made with individuals I was told "Ive never heard of this, " "this is the first time I am hearing of this," (that was from individuals I had ALREADY spoken with), "I will look into this and call you back," and the individuals that answer the phone at the Staunton office tell you inaccurate information and do NOT pass messages on to their superiors. What I have learned from this experience is that 1) Dodson does not care about the truth 2) that I should have called the police on the day that this incident occurred and had charges pressed against the technician 3) Dodson continues to provide inaccurate information in regard to the events (ie lies) 4) and that Dodson harasses former customers 5) as a single female you can not take on a large company by yourself and therefore now have legal counsel in regard to this complaint. Truly saddening that in this day and age companies can not simply apologize and do what is right. Sincerely disappointed in this company and their misrepresentation and blatant lies regarding my account and their "customer service."I can not in good faith recommend this company to anyone, and especially not to any single female households. If Dodson continues all further communications will come from my attorney.

My mother recommended Dodson pest control to me because they are who she has. Her bill was paid in full for a year. She gets her service on time if he says he's going to be there he shows that day. I paid my beginning fee and the bill is in my landlords name (she lives next door) I was supposed to get my house sprayed and traps set outside. Well on his first visit he sprayed inside and out then he Told me he was coming the next week to spray and bring traps because he didn't have any.. Never showed.. Well I got my service in June. July I got my traps which I should've got on my first visit. And here we are at the end of August. I called because again no one has showed. I was told someone would be here Monday. Well its Wednesday. Again no one showed. Because it is scheduled. I do not feel I should have to call everyday and talk to different people to see if someone is coming. They said Monday. Someone should've been here Monday.. Not a month later, which with the way this has been going I feel I won't see anyone until late September now. I have sat at home for 3 days waiting. I have a job which for the most part I work 6-7 days a week. And I made my schedule and took off work so I could be here and to no surprise no one showed. .they expect me to pay on time. I expect my service on time and done correctly. . . I do not recommend anyone to use this pest control. They are absolutely ridiculous.
