Donation Movers Reviews (32)

To my knowledge, I vaguely remember [redacted] telling me that you called and that you would call back. We service over 2000 clients a year and get calls about missing items all the time. Over 95% of those people never call back again. I didn't avoid your call or ever get a voicemail about the missing...

top. I'm sorry if that happened that way but we did not mean for that to happen. If $100 will satisfy the customer then so be it. I'm ok with that. Thank you and have a great day.

If that is what this customer want then that's fine with us. The fact of the damage is that the item was left in the hallway and it fell into the door without anyone in my employee being present. I wasn't there personally and I take the word of my employees very seriously. Where would you like the...

check sent?

To whom it may concern,
First off I would like to say that there was one guy that rode the scooter. I sent her a check for $50.00 for the dial to be fixed. As far as the tools, they were left in...

my truck because the customer had not been there at the end of the move. We dropped the rest of her belongings at her dads house. We brought the tools back and they sat in our shop for a little over 2 weeks. That was my fault because I did not have an inclination that they were there. No one used them and they weren't damaged in anyway. Second off we do not and did not have or move her yoga ball. Why would we steal a yoga ball. We are not in the business of stealing things. Third off the entertainment center was not damaged by us at all. Please have a look at the pictures of this "mahogany" entertainment center. It was scratched all over from years of abuse from what it looks like to me. My guy neither have glue or a stapler to staple it together. This to me is just absurd. Only one person rode the scooter from the truck into the street and then into her driveway. I sent her the check for $50.00 for that. She is blowing this out of proportion saying that she almost got into an accident with it because of my guy. Just to let you know neither of the 2 guys that she is complaining about works here anymore. My guy did not ask if they were gonna get tipped either. She also said that someone forged her signature on the form. That is totally ridiculous. We do not do that either. The $50.00 check is what I sent and what she can have. Other than that I have nothing more to dispute. Thank you and have a great day.

Review: On August 23rd, 2014, Donation Movers LLC completed my intra-city move. Some issues occurred regarding slow-service when paid at an hourly rate (truck took 35 minutes to drive 10 minutes down the road; employees stood around and watched other employees work, etc), however, those issues can be largely attributed to poor service.

Rather, when the move was completed, I noted with the Team Leader that the top to my entertainment center was missing. This top, while not meant to come off, was pulled off when he was attempting to move the item. It seemed repairable, so I instructed him that there was no concern on my end. I had specifically moved the top into an area in front of the garage for them to grab, and it was certainly not there when we left the house - meaning they must have loaded it. After I noted it being missing during final payment, he said, "I think we left that at the other house." He told me to call them if I couldn't find it. Sure enough, the top was not unloaded from the truck as I had expected, and the movers were gone.

I made 3 separate attempts to contact Donation Movers LLC about this issue before I spoke with someone. The first two times I left a voicemail. On the third attempt, the representative, very nicely, went to look for it. She checked one truck that was parked there, and did not find it. She informed me she would check the other truck when it returned and give me a call back. This never happened. This occurred early September.

Since that time, I have called and left four or five voicemails, all during business hours. To this date, nobody has picked up the phone, and I have not received a call back.

The entertainment center, wholly unusable now, was probably worth no more than $100. That amount alone could be attributed to the lackadaisical service I received, which forced me to have them end their time early - I could not afford to continue to pay $100 an hour for them to watch each other work. They had not completed the installations at the time I told them to pack up.Desired Settlement: I would like my entertainment center top found and returned in acceptable condition, or I would like a billing adjustment reflecting the fair value of the piece which was both destroyed and partially lost, $100.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID[redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Happy to accept the resolution as it is given, however this resolution was provided to the Revdex.com on 10/27 and as of 11/10 I have not received fulfillment.

Regards,

This company did substantial damage to my hardwood floor during a move. They immediately acknowledged they did it and would fix it. I thought they were very responsive and professional at this point. But when it became clear that there was substantial damage and that it would be a costly repair, [redacted], they head guy became at times belligerent with me...like this was somehow my fault. He immediately became the opposite of responsive and professional. I made phone calls almost daily for two months to get this fixed. Miserable experience. Would not use this company, period.

I have known the owner of this company personally since early 2010. In that time he's had a total of 1 good and solid worker but he let the best of him make the worker finally quit. I tried to look past this and hire the company to move my family from one apartment to the next. They threw around my boxes, one guy spoke no English and they broke my tv among other things. So I called the company more times than I'd care to admit to get this problem resolved. I thought since the owner is a military vet he'd be more than willing to help since his company ruined my belongings. Instead he called my back to scream at me cuss me out and call me a [redacted] telling me he wouldn't replace my belongings or refund my money.

Arrived on time, efficient, friendly and even fixed a cabinet that was busted before the move! I was very satisfied with my experience with Donation Movers!

3 guys that moved us were efficient. However TV was damaged and the company has failed to take responsibility. Won't return calls or respond to emails that include pictures of the damaged TV. Failing to do the right thing. Very disappointing.

Review: I had Donation Movers scheduled to move me (for the 3rd time) on 9/16/15. On 9/17/15 at 11:02am, I called and spoke with owner Paul because my brand new, in the box 60" television was shattered when I went to take it out of the box that morning, also, the power cord to my other tv was missing. Mr. [redacted] asked how I knew the tv wasn't already broken. I advised him that the TV had been delivered to my apartment via a shipping company, the top of the box was lifted at that time, as I had to verify it was delivered in perfect condition. The top of the box was then put back on. The television was never taken out of the box, nor moved once delivered, until moving day on 9/16. He told me there was nothing in the truck (with regards to the other tv power cord) and they would check the warehouse, and that I needed to email him photos of the damaged tv, which I did at 11:16am, that same day. I didn't hear back from Mr. [redacted] that day, I waited until Monday. On Monday 9/21, I called again at 9:39am and 12:56pm and left a voicemail, I also sent an email at 2:48pm. On 9/22 I left another voicemail at and 2:04pm. To date I still have not received any response to this issue. When I went to my previous home to clean, I noticed damaged walls, several boxes were damaged in the move, yet I didn't make a big deal about it. My biggest concern at this point is that the owner of this company is non-responsive, even when I left on my voicemail to him a request for their claims process. At this point I have a damaged 60" tv, brand new in the box sitting in my home, which I am currently paying for. I have another tv with no power cord, and a business-owner who won't even try to communicate to come to a resolution.Desired Settlement: I wish to be contacted by the business owner to come to a resolution, AND I want compensation for the $879.99 TV that I cannot use.

Response:

As to the television cord and the television that we supposedly broke. First off we have 90 days to address all damage complaints as per the moving guidelines and regulations set forth from the DOT. As for the cord that is missing we would gladly replace it no questions asked. As for the television that we supposedly broke in a factory box with all the factory safeguards in place. It was a move from a one story to a one story. The Television box was put per our protocol for televisions on the wheel well and strapped. It was carried by two guys out to the trailer at the pick up and then also carried with two guys out of the trailer at the drop off. there is no way that the damage on that television came from us. Everything in our truck was strapped and nothing fell into it. As per the customer she says it looks like a drop. If you look at the damage on the box and see how long it was in our trailer and what it was in there with there is no way that the damage on that box and the damage to the television was caused by us. We have been in business going on 6 years and have learned how to care for televisions. always screen to the wall and always blanketed. I will say it again that there is no way that we damaged that television like that. I am sorry because we are a reputable company and have high standards when it comes to peoples belongings. The customer is also a repeat customer and we do not want to lose her business for future moves but once again she has to understand that there is no possible explanation of how we could of done that damage. I do how ever want to say that since this has happened we have changed our protocol as to when we drop off now we have a signature block for before and after for checking televisions for cracks or scratches. This will help us be pro active in not letting this happen again.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. My complaint wasn't even addressed with the exception of the missing cord, which I obviously have since replaced on my own. Business owner stated they had 90 days to respond to complaints. My second to last voicemail was requesting their claims process and simply receiving a response. The business owner chose to ignore me completely, which in of itself is poor customer service. I know for a fact that all moving companies have a claims process, which I have still not have been provided. It's great that the business owner has put into place a solution so this issue does not happen in the future, however, it does not solve the problem I have of a giant broken tv in the box taking up room in my home. The fact is, the owner can say they have protocols, but it doesn't mean they are followed. I saw with my own eyes the ONE person carrying the tv into the home sideways. He seemed to be new (as I was familiar with the two other guys). This is also the same guy who took 35 minutes to take my bed apart and damaged the wall in that room, which I didn't notice until I went back to clean. Again, I'm not requesting those damages, or any of the other damages caused in this move. I'm not one to make complaints, as I am much quicker to post praise than complaints. However, this is an expensive issue. The business owner refuses to even acknowledge that it's POSSIBLE his employees damaged the TV because he has Protocols in place. That's absurd, and again, poor customer service. No resolution was offered by the business owner, except to place blame on me, and replace a missing cord. And also express that as a repeat customer he would hope not to lose me. The broken tv isn't what cost me (or my clients) as customers, the poor customer service is.

Regards,

Donation Movers LLC provided outstanding moving services for our local move in Phoenix. They were prompt, professional, courteous, and provided superior service in every way. They worked diligently throughout the entire moving process. We would highly recommend their company.

This company is awesome. Very reliable, friendly, courteous and efficient. Very reasonably priced as well. Used on last move a year ago and will be using again this move.

We hired Donation Movers to move our household from Peoria, AZ to Mesa, AZ. [redacted], the owner of the business, explained their process and rates to me, then came over and gave us a verbal estimate.
The move entailed dropping some heavy items off at my daughter's home enroute to our home. Not only did this moving company do it with no hesitation, they were particularly gracious. We expected they would drop off the furniture in the designated room at daughters, and leave. No, they moved furniture that was in the room out to the garage, then brought in the items from our house. AND placed them several times until the rooms were arranged beautifully, even picking up and moving a heavy cabinet full of items.
I cannot recommend this company highly enough. They packed so well that not one thing got broken, and unpacked and placed the items in roughly the same place they got them in the old home. Then helped me get everything exactly as I wanted it.
The crew was professional, exceptionally courteous, best seen to date and we have moved all over the world,
The biggest surprise of the move was that the actual total was substantially less than [redacted] thought it would be.
First time that has ever happened to us on a move!
Try 'em,\. You'll like em.
