A reimbursement for $546.67 is more than fair for them based on:  they acknowledged the problem was never fixed after 12 service calls and $1600 of their investments, I had been unable to get a return call/e-mail from them to continue the efforts and a competitor fixed it in under a half hour needing no parts.

I never do reviews, but my experience really should be shared...I was on their twice a year "check up", and they damaged my system. They admitted as much. They did offer to repair it, and I had them over, but they "rubbed me the wrong way" and I told them to leave. I just decided I didn't want the people who did the damage to come in again to "fix" it. So far, I have spent about $750.00, and that could go up. Just be aware, they don't always send the #1 person to work on your hvac system. No. I don't really expect them to repay me, but, they really are responsible for all the resultant problems. My wife says I should go to court, but I may not pursue it.

We recently had a new furnace put in by Donovan ad Jorgenson and we were very pleased from start to finish with the experience. Right off the bat they were professional, and price was very reasonable. The salesmen, office staff and workmen that came were all a pleasure to deal with. I have no doubt we will continue to do business with them for our home, and have recommended them to our family and friends. Excellent company, and family owned.

I have been a customer of Donovan & Jorgenson for appox. 12 to 14 years. If their service and workmanship was anything but dependable, I would not have remained a customer this long. I would definitely recommend them.

On time ,very friendly ,very efficient, excellent job

This company met my expectations because they were on time, they called days before and prior to arrival to confirm, they worked cleanly, they were friendly, professional and knowledgeable as well as met my expectations. I have used this company in the past and have been very happy with the service.

Donovan and Jorgenson Heating and Cooling is an excellent company with quality products and quality service. They recently replaced our furnace and central air conditioner. I have used their annual service maintenance plan since I purchased our original furnace and central air conditioner from them aproximately 26 years ago.

I was very pleased with the service I received from Donovan & Jorgenson when I had to replace my furnace and air conditioner. [redacted] was very professional and

took the time to to verify questions I had. The techs that did the work were fast and knowledgeable, and cleaned up after they were finished. I chose D & J because of the professional way they presented the quote for the replacement.

We were extremely pleased with all aspects of our new furnace and heat pump installation with Donovan & Jorgenson. Starting at the initial stages of the quote to the end of the installation. Everyone we dealt with was professional and took the time to explain everything in detail. Even the sub-contracted electrician was professional and thorough. We would definitely recommend them.

My wife and I bought our tri-level home in May, 2013 and it did not have central air. The home was heated with a boiler system, so there were no ducts in our home. Installing central air required that the installation would have to be done in the attic spaces. The air handler and duct work would be installed throughout the home from the attic.
My wife and I were satisfied with the original quote. We received a discount when we agreed to have the system installed on the company's schedule vs having the system installed all at once. Although this would require the workers to come and go over a longer period of time, we were ensured that the installation would be done properly and professionally.
The first workers to arrive were a young man with less than a month experience along with a veteran. The two began by cutting holes in the ceilings where the vents would eventually go. The hole cut in the bathroom ceiling was cut too long and required some patch work. The condensing unit was also placed outside and the line set was soldered and extended through a newly bore hole into my house.
The next workers to arrive were different than the original two, which was not a surprise to me because of the discount plan we were on. What surprised me was that the second workers seemed unaware as to what was completed up to that point due to poor notes by the first crew. I was uneasy about the feeling I got and I asked why they couldn't just talk with the the first veteran worker. I was told that he was no longer with the company and that he moved on.
As the installation progressed over the next month or so, there came a time to run the system. The young team leader installing the system that day was there into the evening (6pm-7pm) and had to leave without getting things to work.
A seasoned technician arrived at the company's next earliest convenience and determined that the system had not been wired properly causing the transformer to blow. He had to replace the transformer and wire the system correctly. After he did this, he also found that the line set was clogged by solder; too much had been used when this was installed. He fixed this as well. I wish this guy would have done the entire installation because he was sharp.
I asked the worker if someone was going to seal the hole that had been put in our home when the line set had been installed. This had been left undone, and at the same time, I began getting mice in my house. The worker sealed the hole and seemed disgusted at the quality of work done or not done by his co-workers.
One run of the duct work installed extended into my hallway. This was a short run which I would have to drywall around eventually. I had previously asked one of the workers if this duct needed to be insulated and he said no. As the system ran, this area of duct began to condensate heavily and drip onto our wood floor.
I was ultimately concerned about the quality of the system in its entirety. I called the office and spoke with someone about my concerns. I asked to have a quality control person come out and look over the system to make sure everything was done right. He came out with another seasoned worker and they insulated the duct with the condensation problem and also spent a couple of hours doing other things to make sure it passed quality control.
After the quality control inspection, I felt better. That was until I had the system inspected by the town inspector. He mentioned how the insulation in my attic had been mashed down during the installation. He suggested that I re-insulate these areas; not something told to me by D and J. I unhappily did it, but didn't complain to the company.
Soon, the vent in the bathroom began to drip condensation. When I inspected the vent, I could see that it had been installed poorly and was blowing some cold air into the attic, causing the temperature differences to mix. I had to crawl up in to the attic to discover that the vent was installed crooked because care had not been taken to secure both sides of the duct to the ceiling joists. I did this myself and it corrected the problem.
The system worked well in 2014, but was not serviced because whoever signed us up for the yearly maintenance had not filed the paperwork correctly. This also affected the maintenance of our boiler in the fall. I had to straighten that out so that our air conditioning system could be checked in the spring.
As winter came in 2014-2015, we began to experience condensation dripping from the air conditioning vents. I went into the attic and found that the flexible ducts had water (now ice) pooling in them. I had tried to close the vents to prevent the warm air from mixing with the cold air in the flexible ducts, but the vent covers that were installed were of poor quality and would not close properly. I don't know that this would have mattered because the flexible ducts appeared not to be adequately insulated to prevent the exchange of cold/warm air.
I also discovered that, like the bathroom vent had been installed, all of the other vents were not secured properly to the joists allowing the warm air from our living area to mix through the air gaps in the ceiling. This caused additional condensation which began to pool on top of the drywall. Luckily, I had caught it in time so that there was no permanent damage.
I took two of my off days to rework the vent installations. In the meantime, I found that some of the hard ducts had not been secured together with sheet metal screws, but some had. I figured if one had them, they should all have them. I fixed this as well I laid the flexible ducts under insulation the best I could so that the cold attic air was separate from the air present in the ducts. That seemed to solve part of the problem.
I also took off the original poor quality vent covers and installed new ones that I had purchased at Home Depot. The new vent covers actually functioned when I wanted them closed. The original vent covers were of such poor quality that I did not consider donating them to Habitat for Humanity.
I called D and J and spoke at length with their new quality control person. I told him about my bad experience and he offered his apologies along with an explanation that my problem with condensation might not have been avoidable and that other people experience the same problem in their homes. He also said that I had gone above and beyond when securing the vents. I felt that this should have been done with the standard installation.
I hadn't considered asking D and J to fix the problem for me even if that offer had been made. I feel that if the installation was not done right the first time, why should I trust this company to repair anything.
I also did not ask for any form of compensation because there isn't enough that they could offer to satisfy the time, effort, and worry that I experienced just to have air conditioning installed in our home.
I feel that some of the workers at D and J are professionals, however, some do not value craftsmanship. The folks that did the work at our home disappointed my wife and I. We are trusting people who work hard and were hoping that our hard-earned money would have gone toward a worry-free project.

We were most impressed from beginning to end. A technician came to our house to assess a problem. It was determined that we did need a new furnace. A sales rep was at our house the same evening. He was very knowledgeable and not pushy. He offered many suggestions and we were able to choose what we wanted. We were told that we would get an install date soon because we did not have any heat. The install was smooth, easy. The two guys who installed it, plus the electrician and the plumber were first rate. They were there on time, completed the work. They went above and beyond to be clean, courteous and explain anything. They were thorough and professional. I have truly never had such a positive experience with an issue in my home (14 yrs). I highly recommend this company. The customer service from everyone, including the office calls and payments, etc....everything was A+!

A high-efficiency Buderus boiler was installed in our residence by D&J. They explained everything to our satisfaction and kept all there promises. No wonder this is the third Buderus boiler installed by D& J on our block. Like my neighbors, I highly recommend D&J.

Had an emergency problem with my furnace on a late Friday night in February. Burners wouldn't turn on and had no heat in the house. Called Donovan and Jorgenson's emergency line, left a message and had a returned call within 30 minutes from one of their technicians. 8:00am Saturday morning, he arrived and replaced a few parts and got the system up and running again. That evening, I noticed I had no heat again, and traced it to a faulty flame controller they had just replaced. By turning the power off and on at the furnace, it would clear the fault and usually beginning heating again. Usually after a few hours it would fault again, and no flame. Monday morning, I called Donovan and Jorgenson again, to report an issue with this new controller they had just replaced. Within an hour and a half of calling, a technician was on sight, and replaced the faulty board. Was impressed at how quickly they respond, even though it was a bit of a hassle with the faulty board. Both technicians were very courteous on the phone and onsite. It was a pleasure doing business with them. One note, prices for emergency work and weekend issues are not cheap, so if its not an emergency or you can swing it until normal business hours, do it, otherwise you will be paying for it.

I highly recommend Donovan & Jorgenson. I had another firm clean and check my steam boiler system for years. Then this year they told I needed a new boiler and a repair was not possible. They provided a quote and told me that I needed to act now.
After many calls to varous HVAC firms for a second opinon, I was referred to D&J by 2 separate parties.
They came out same day, diagnosed the issue, and repaired the boiler on the spot. And thoroughly cleaned the system (the previous firm never really even cleaned it correctly). They are honest, knowledgable, and responsive.
They saved me many many thousands of dollars in this situation.
Joe and Ken are the best... trust me on that.

Review: On 4/1/2014 Donovan & Jorgenson replaced a boiler pump, it failed and was replaced by them on 1/29/2015 I paid $752.93 for a new pump installed although it was still under warranty. I was told they would have to contact the manufacturer (Taco) to be sure it was covered by warranty. The new Honeywell pump put in on 1/29/2015 failed on 2/28/2015. Again paid them 984.19 for a new pump and was again told we'd have to pay for the new pump until warranty came through from the manufacturer. As of 12/2/2015 I have heard nothing of my 2 pumps which failed under warranty, I called them at least 5 times and was always told someone would call be back, which never happened.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for the last 2 pumps.

Response:

I am reaching out to you regarding a complaint

that you submitted to the Revdex.com for work that we completed on your boiler system

at [redacted] on January

29, 2014 & February 28, 2015.In your letter you state we have not returned

your calls. Our warranty department has contacted you on at least two different

occasions to let you know that the manufacturer of the pumps was looking into

the warranty validation in order to receive a credit for the pumps, due to the

premature failure.Attached to this letter are the two (2) Service Work Orders

when the pumps were replaced and a description of recommendations. On service

work order #[redacted] , there is a communication to you that water treatment to

the system is recommended in order to preserve the life and prevent premature

failure of the pump and system. Our sales representative provided you a quote

to have that done. Our records do not show that has been accepted or completed

to date. Also, the second service work order #180144 communicates that

manufacturer reimbursement can take a while for warranty validation. We still are

recommending, as the manufacturer is, annual maintenance for safety,

efficiency, reliability and longevity. Along with a water test pr and water

treatment to prolong the life of your ENTIRE boiler system, including the

pumps. As we discussed on the phone on 12-9-15, it is my

understanding that we have received credit for only one (1) of the pumps, upon

your request, we have reimbursed your credit card in the amount of $1 ,436.16

on 12-9-15. The description of the reimbursement is as follows: The first

replacement pump was within the manufacturer's one (1) year part only warranty, however the labor was outside

of the thirty (30) labor warranty (Reimbursement of $451.97). The next

prematurely failed pump we have reimbursed you $984.19 for both parts &

labor = $1 ,436.16 total reimbursed to you.I hope this is as satisfactory as it was when we had the

phone conversation on 12-9-15. Please feel free to contact me with any

questions or if you would like to proceed with the recommended system treatment

or (and) the maintenance.
