We had our deck and fence installed through dreamhome. It’s on the process but so far everything’s turning out well. Graham was very approachable and helped us out along the process and with financing options. Keeping us updated and everything is going well. We have recommended the company with our friends and I would definitely give them a 5 star!

DreamHome Remodeling Response

Thank you for being a valued customer Elliot!

Please keep in mind, I've been in customer service for over 20 years. A representative knocked on our door soliciting DreamHome Remodeling services. After claiming that they pride themselves in the best customer service, I asked if he had read the no soliciting sign on my door. His response was "I didn't feel like it." In my opinion, that action alone was not customer friendly and is disrespectful. When I called to complain, the person who claimed to be the representative's supervisor gave me a lame apology and didn't seem to care at all that his employee completely ignored my sign or that he lost the chance of getting our business.

Overall my experience with Dream Home Remodeling was average to below average.
It started off with scheduling an appointment with the door to door reps which
was fine and ultimately lead to a sit down with Mr. Reggie S, who was very
friendly and detailed when it came to the process prior to and through the
installation of our new roof, he helped us start a claim and get the ball
rolling on this process. Throughout the time of opening a claim and scheduling
the roof installation, communication was minimal at best; it felt that most of
the contact was coming from me to Dream Home Remodeling not the other way
around. I had to initiate the conversation with Kevin in regards to the
process going forward and how much the new roof would cost along with how to
schedule the upcoming installation. It took a few phone calls and a few emails
before he responded and it seemed that no one else was able to handle the
questions that I proposed to them throughout the process only that I would
have to wait for Kevin. I feel like the process takes so long because Dream
Home has to wait on the insurance company but I would have liked to be
contacted intermittently because it took a long time through the entire
process and it seemed as if I was just another customer that Dream Home would
get a paycheck from. Once everything was settled from the payment and
insurance approving the check it was a very quick turn to schedule the roof
installation. The day prior to the installation the materials were dropped off
as promised and we received an email from Anthony (their project manager)
guaranteeing the installation would be completed in 1 day. I emphasize this
because my installation took 3 days, from the start of the job they would only
ever have a team of 2 people working my roof which again took them 3 days to
finish. Now throughout the process at the end of the day I was understanding
and realized it would be impossible to think they could finish in 1 day, so
that didn't bother me. During this time their less than helpful Quality
Control person Louie, stopped by our house twice and seemed to not understand
anything about what he was quality controlling because he never went onto the
roof, he simply sat in his car and then handed us a survey to complete as soon
as the job was done, it seemed he was more interested in that document than
the actual quality or job timeliness that was being conducted. On day 2, I
realized the job still wasn't going to be completed and started calling the
Dream Home office that PROMISED and GUARANTEED the job would be completed on
day 2. This was promised by Louie himself and the manager of the teams who
they schedule to install the roof, as soon as I was able to finally get ahold
of Anthony, after the workers were done for day 2 and the roof not completely
finished, he was finally the only person who apologized for what was going on
and described that they normally don't have a 2 person team working a single
roof and that the other two were sick or ill. As he said this I recalled that
Louie had said that there was supposed to be 4 people working the roof but
when he came by the house the 2 that were working said the other 2 went out to
lunch. So again more lies and no guarantees from the company aside from when I
spoke to Anthony and finally day 3 arrived and the roof was finally complete
at the end of the day. Fortunately I was able to be home for this and walk the
perimeter of my house to ensure there were no nails on the ground, the guys
did a decent job cleaning up but I still found at least two dozen nails
(mostly in concentrated areas) that they neglected during their clean up. Also
during their finishing touches on the roof, one of the workers stepped and
bent the gutter in the front of my house, and at the end during clean up
attempted to bend it back into place as if nothing had happened. With the roof
completed, we had to have the gutter issue fixed, so again Louie came back out
and this time talked to my wife and he stated that "this type of thing happens
all the time", that statement shows to me that he doesn't have a handle on his
quality control job and that he just attempts to woo the customer with his
personality. After a couple of phone calls with Anthony he said that the
gutters would all be replaced at no charge because of uniformity of the
gutters, I was pleasantly happy with Anthony's professionalism throughout the
roofing and the gutter experience, he was a true professional and understands
how to treat and take care of his customers. The day of the gutter install
went fine and the installation took about 1 hour or less and it was relatively
painless. The only issues I have with the gutter install was they left a mess
around my entire property; there was about 30 cigarette butts and nails/screws
in my drive way, garden area, side yard and back yard. Also on top of my
garage where I have a brand new roof there was caulking that was dropped all
over the roof and looks like there are white spots above my roof that will not
come off of my black shingles. Again contacted Louie and he sent someone out
to take care of it, by taking care of it they just scraped off the chunk of
caulking that was on there and did nothing to fix the white stain that would
now remain on the shingles. Overall my experience with Dream Home Remodeling
was less than desirable, I would recommend them for work with extreme
reservation because their front office staff is friendly and will definitely
try their best to help out and Anthony is the company's saving grace; other
than that I cannot recommend this company that prides themselves on customer
service and satisfaction. The total process of getting my roof installed
started on 9 June through 8 Sept (when I finally received my warranty
information). I will note that the quality of the work and product they use is
great and is probably one of the only reasons I would recommend them.

DreamHome Remodeling, Inc. did work on my home by installing a roof, downspouts and gutters, and added additional insulation to the attic. The work started on or about April 11, 2017 and was completed on or about June 25, 2017, and payment for completed work was made by check from me on June 30, 2017. DreamHome Remodeling literature for roof installation advertises an *** 50 yr warranty for their roof installation. On or about June 30, I asked a DreamHome company representative (Ms. Brittany D) when I would receive documentation regarding my warranty and she said that I would receive warranty documentation "by the end of August". After not receiving the warranty documentation by the end of August, I called Ms. D on 1 September and inquired about the status of the warranty. She checked with her Secretary who said that she had been unable to send me the documentation because my email address had bounced her previous communications. However, Ms. D sent me a test message to the email address that the company had on file, and I received it perfectly. She told me that I would have the warranty infomation by 5 Sep. No warranty information was received by email, and therefore, I made follow up calls on 6,7, 8 and 11 Sep, but Ms D was not available to receive my call or return my messages.

We ended up using dream home because our neighbors used them. Their sales guy was extremely responsive and friendly. When we signed the contract they insisted we give them a copy of our insurance appraisal. We did and they agreed to do the work for the amount provided by the insurance company for a new roof. They put on a new beautiful roof. When I went up on the roof the next day to get a closer roof, I found approximately 60 used nails scattered along the roof. Our real trouble came when they billed us. The first bill they sent us was for a new roof and other work they never did on our house. I questioned it and they changed it to just a new roof. The next bill was for approximately $6000 more than what the insurance company gave us. When I questioned it they were extremely condescending and told me it was general practice to bill for things like labor and profit and percentages. I said that was fine but that was not explained to me. They informed me the insurance company gave me more than enough money to cover what they were charging. This is true but the insurance company gave me money to fix other damaged items on my house and that money is now being used up by the extra money the roofing company is charging us. We ended up caving and paying the bill because we were done arguing with them but I recently found out they are now doing the same thing to our neighbors. Don't use them! And if you do make sure your contract clearly states the final amount you will owe up front because otherwise they will upcharge you!
