The holes have a rough aluminum edge and are not covered or smoothed. My knuckle immediately started to gush blood. I waited a few hours and once the bleeding did not stop, I went to [redacted]'s urgent care. While there for many hours on a Friday night, I received a tenuous shot, numbing shot, three sutures and a metal brace. Two weeks later my sutures were removed. I was unable to work for those two weeks due to the fact that my right hand had a finger brace that I could not bend or get wet. The site of the injury is still sore and because of the location it feels tight and discomfort when I bend or move it. I have contacted the manufacturer Drive Medical dba Drive Devilbiss Healthcare regarding compensation for my injury and losses caused by this defect from their product. Evan M[redacted]l has denied my claim and has yet to offer me a replacement chair. He has only requested that I return the chair with a shipping label he sent me, which I will not do because I feel like if I return the chair the issue will go unheard. I have also reached out to Evan's supervisors, Andrea R[redacted] and Louann M[redacted]. I have left them both voicemails and have received no phone call back from either. This item should be recalled before someone seriously gets hurt. I would not want this to happen to someone else. If this product were to injure an elderly or disabled person, the injury could be a lot worse. If this sharp, rough aluminum edge were to cut an elderly person with delicate skin, they could be at risk for infection and their healing time could be much longer, etc. I am quite embarrassed by the scar I was left with on my knuckle. I have even pushed back my wedding date to give it longer to heal because I don't want it captured in our wedding optics. I would not currently have this scar if it wasn't for this product defect incident I had with this shower chair and it's rough aluminum edges with no sharp object warning. I have pictures of everything along the way and still have the shower bench chair in my possession. This has been a very big inconvenience to me and not getting the customer service I deserve is quite stressful.

Review: Drive Medical has sent me numerous defective equipment for a year. On September **,2015 my wheel on my seated walker came off causing me to have to catch myself from falling. It's supposed to hold up to 500 pounds, but it is not capable of holding that weight. The seat on a previous purchase caved in. I've been getting my equipment from [redacted] in [redacted]. I have a five year warranty, but each time I get another walker I get the same results. I'm a disabled individual and my Medicaid is paying for defective products.Desired Settlement: I would like to get better equipment. I want a copy of this complaint mailed to me.

I bought a nebulizer compressor through [redacted] and it came with a 5-year warranty. The product went out within a couple years and [redacted] replaced it with no problems. Now Drive Medical has taken over the company, and the product has once again broke. Now Drive Medical did not want to replace their product even though the 5-year warranty is still good. They said that the warranty only covers the compressor. The reason the product broke is because of the compressor. The machine heats up way too hot which caused the plastic piece that holds the hose on to become brittle and eventually break off. The compressor is the only thing that could have caused that machine to heat up like that. But they still say that it's a piece that's broken off, so it's not covered and that only the compressor is covered. Before that, they were telling me that the distributor who sold it to me are the ones I need to contact in order to get the machine replaced. The manufacturer is the one who supposedly warranties their product, but they were finding every excuse not to honor their warranty.
