Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I have been speaking with an Alicia with Duke Energy and have attached a statement from herThis problem has not been resolved ,I have a problem with Duke stating that it was due to the weather and that is the reason that my bill has increased this muchWe keep our furnace on and have fireplaces their is no legitimate reason that I can find nor that Duke can find on why my bill would have significantly increased like this, Duke can give no valid reason and I am requesting that this be taken care of and my bills be adjusted accordinglyThank you (copy of invoices are attached) Regards, [redacted]

Duke is leaving me without power for days when the tempature will be below freezing after my account was paid in full I came home to a note on my door that my power was disconnectedI called twice and spoke to two different people who told me to pay $& then my power will be restoredI paid and then called back to confirm that they would be out tonightThey accused me of illegally stealing my powerThey spoke to my landlord after trying to have me admit to stealing it and telling me I would not get power back on until they had somebody to charge with the crimeMy landlord stated they said all was good I just needed to call and confirm what he said and our power would be back onI immediately called them backThey stated the department was closed and not one single person was able to access my accountThe woman I spoke to said she was not the CEO of Duke but she also did not have a supervisorWhen I told her I knew this was false, she said, "Well, I do have a supervis

If I could give zero stars I would. I requested to discontinue services for 28 June 2019, on 3 August I called and spoke with a customer service representative concerning my refund for over payment. The representative explained that it should have been processed, but saw that it wasn't. He requested that I wait another 5-7 to receive my over payment. I called on 6 August and spoke with a different representative, where I asked to speak with a supervisor, not a team lead. After waiting 10 minutes, I was asked if I'd like a call back, of which I agreed. I asked that the supervisor leave me their direct line should I miss their call, and that my call to their line would only involve my business with Duke Energy. I was trying to prevent being provided a 1-800 and going through the entire process again. When customers pay their bills late, they incur a late fee. I always paid my bills on time, and because I moved due to a military transfer, I over paid the bill. I am not talking about a few dollars, but closer to hundreds of dollars. Duke Energy should be just as diligent in refunding over payments just as they are in making sure franchise fees, over payment fees, etc., are immediately added to your bill. I encourage any corporate leader in contacting me regarding my account, and when I can reasonably expect my refund. My expectation of their professionalism and promptness should be met with the same level of importance as they themselves would expect if they were customer in this situation.

I am the home owner (rental property) previous tenant left with a past due bill of several months. now they (Duke) is trying to make new tenant of me pay the bill that they did not collect. I have new people to move in but the house was destroyed, so a have to do repairs, the new renter(with a lease) one is 75 and on oxygen is willing to put the electric in his name. or mine and or my wife for a temporary basis. it seems to me any company would love to be able to hold any one else responsible for uncollected debt. then they found my son owes a past due bill from a totally different address and are trying to hold us responsible for that as well, this cannot be legal. I personally am a disabled American veteran

Just want to thank Duke Energy for their speedy response,a big tree branch fell on the wires and was sparking outside of my house,I called and they came within 30 minutes I live in Marshville ND and every time their is an issue they come with urgency.

I am a DISABLED ARMY VETERAN who informed Duke Energy that I have a compromised immune system and that the installation of a smart meter would be detrimental to my health, I advised Duke Energy that I would provide a [requested] notarized statement from my physician indicating that the Smart Meter should not be installed at my home due to my health condition. Duke Power made note of this in my account. Duke Power informed me that they would wait until receiving my doctors statement before installing a METER to my house and enroll me into the "opt out" program. I submitted the notarized doctors statement on the 2nd of May to Duke Energy to be enrolled in the "opt out" program, when I returned home today after a walk, I discovered that Duke Energy JUMPED OVER MY LOCKED FENCE and affixed a smart meter to my home without prior notice, without my permission to enter my backyard, and despite the fact that I submitted a notarized doctors statement stating that I must avoid exposure to radio frequency emissions to the extent possible to protect my health. I am already feeling the effects of having this smart meter installed to my home. It is located right outside of my bedroom and bathroom. I am so concerned about the affects/damage that this smart meter is causing as I type this message. The smart meter was installed today at approximately 8:30-9:30 am without my knowledge and without my consent, therefore; Duke Energy FORCED a smart meter and RF radiation on me without regard to my health. I am in the process of seeking restitution from Duke Energy for putting my health at risk after I have expressed to them orally and in writing about my health condition. I can't believe that they would actually JUMP OVER MY FENCE to install the smart meter after I've expressed repeateded concerns for my health.

They are terrible. The US Legislators, every time they hear the word "Green" think they need to throw money at it, even if it's not "Green." So they threw money at DUKE & others and they must spend that money! Because of some activists in our state, I guess, we are able at least momentarily to "opt out" without explanation. The first two times I called, it took forever to talk to a person. Then one I reached seemed to be trying to make the call last as long as possible without giving out any useful information. They have made it so many people cannot opt out, for example if they have one of those "level bills." They have to wait till the end of that annual cycle to MAYBE have their meter changed out. As it is, a truck goes down the street and by WiFi collects our data; since we opted out, they'll take out that meter and require us to pay for that ($97?) plus the cost of someone to personally walk our neighborhood ($16/month). I had a teacher who was a refugee of the USSR in Junior High School. . . . This is not the USA anymore. And to think we worried about "Ma Bell." That was nothing. Duke seems to be an arm of the US gov't now.

I wish I could leave a no star rating. Duke Energy went 6 months without reading my meter. They repeatedly lied to me about the reason that they were not reading my meter. Their customer service does not have the working knowledge to help you they are also very ineffectual. When you can actually get them to connect you with a supervisor you soon wish that you had just stayed where you were at. Not only are the supervisors the same but they are extremely rude. I ended up with an extremely large bill when they actually read my meter without even an apology to soften the blow. Definitely not my favorite company.

Duke is the worst Our bill skyrocketed three times and Duke wasn't willing to do anything about it or work with us to lower it, despite there not being any reason for the bill to go up I am left with only one conclusion: Duke is in the business of ripping people off And their customer "lack of" service is laughable They followed up with me only to tell me things I already discussed with them, and transferred me to people who I had to discuss everything with new over and over again It's enough to make one move to another county to not have to deal with it

Unless Duke Energy is consistent in requiring ALL customers with the flexible hose that is NOT damaged or leaking then I want to be reimbursed Grandparenting is customary The flexible hose was in good working order Therefore the only repair that should have been required was to the metal gas line that had minor leaks The flexible hose was not close to the gas line, not involved in the leak and should have been grand parenting inWhen I called customer service they could not help meThere was no way given to remedy this unfair and unneeded repair and expenseIf Duke Technicians can simply find something no longer in code and require it be changed in my residence then ALL others who have the same should be requiredIt's either grandpa rented in or notIf not then inspect all furnaces and make it non-discriminatory I have yet to see the justification for the expense when the hose was in good working orderI have yet to see the policy and procedures that allow a tech who comes because of gas leaking from a pipe the duty to bring everything up to current code. Thank you for serious attention and consideration of this matterSophia Paparodis

You continually fail to assist a woman who had no control over the situationI have filed numerous complaints against the landlord and sent many letters with no response from themAgain, I do not have $to my name after bills are paid to pay youI'm asking for the only option I am able to do which is to settle the debt when I will have a lump sum with tax returnsI would have left it alone and paid it all but I won't have it as other debts and medical bills are being settled as wellThat is my only option, a settlementIn any other case I can just wait for it to drop off my creditThat route will prevent me from taking responsibility of paying a debt and preventing me from getting my family's home but it would be my only other option as I have told you many times I don't have extra money to pay any monthly paymentMy proposal helps everyone but the office of Duke Energy refuses to listen to my situation and continues to not be helpful
