June 17, 2015Dear Revdex.com,We received the correspondence you sent to us, dated January 9, Please allow me to explain the process involved when the Dulles Greenway is unable to collect the required toll from an ***Pass account that has insufficient funds at the time of transaction,The Dulles Greenway is a privately owned toll roadWe have an agreement with ***Pass (VDOT), which allows an ***Pass customer to use their transponder on the Greenway for paymentSince ***Pass, for us, is a method of payment, it is the customer's responsibility to ensure that their account has sufficient funds whenever they choose to access the Dulles GrecmwayEach Dulles Greenway toll lane has a traffic signal that alert the user when an account is in “low balance” by displaying a yellow light and also when an account has “no funds” by displaying a red light,The toll violation occurred on 3/13/1:52:PMAfter the violation, we tried for five consecutive days to collect the $toll from [redacted] ***'s ***Pass account without having to mail a violation letter but there were no funds on the accountOn March 24, and 4/22/a letter was mailed seeking payment including an administrative fee of $The letter was mailed to the address [redacted] had on file with ***Pass.On May 26, a summons for toll road violation (code section 46,2–819.1) was issued for [redacted] to appear in Loudoun County General District CourtOnce served with the summons, [redacted] had the option of appearing in court to contest the charge or he could settle out of court for $55,He decided to settle the violation out of court.If I can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me at [redacted] ,Sincerely,Terry H Public & Customer Relations Manager
