I purchased a one month subscription to Fitness Singles dating site for the price of 39.99 that was billed and appears as a charge on my credit card statement. Upon signing up, I was never able to sing on to my account. I sent 3 emails to fitness singles for help or information in this matter and never received a response. No customer service phone number is provided. Every time I try to sign on the site, it keeps asking my to subscribe again. So as of this date 4/1/19, I am out 39..99 and was provided no service or response from this business, as to what has occurred. To further insult me, I am now getting emails from fitness singles on a daily basis with potential matches. I consider this a theft a service for a product I payed for and was billed for. Yet never received. There has been no response received from the company. I would not recommend using this service as they are unresponsive to customer needs

Called and spoke with the business. They stated that after review it seems that the consumer did go into website to check msg and send msg. However, it seems he did it through our free trail. We are will to give the consumer 3 months of free subscription or his original $39.99. Please advise us as to which is preferred.

Business states that they will process a refund today and the consumer should see it within the next 3 days.

Thank you for contacting us. It appears that your account got stuck in an extended security review so certain features on your account were disabled. We take the safety of our community very seriously and one of the unfortunate side effects of this is that legitimate accounts sometimes get flagged in error.

We are happy to provide a refund or we can reinstate your account and remove the security check flagging. We will also extend your paid subscription by three months for free. Please let us know what you would like to do and we apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.

On January 31st I joined Fitness Singles and paid a one month fee of $39.99. The site didn't work properly and after 4-5 times of receiving notifications that the site was unavailable to me due to their being too many people on the site I complained on several occasions to the Fitness Single customer service. Today, February 5th, 2019, I received an email response to my complaint saying that it was there site and they can do whatever they wanted and if I didn't like it, I could leave the site. They indicated in their response they would refund my money. I responded that I definitely wanted my money returned. I received another email saying that my "free membership" had been cancelled and I was blocked from contacting them further. This membership was not a free service but a paid service. The money was taken from my account and the contract was violated by Fitness Singles because they took my money and then cancelled my membership without returning my money. I have also filed a complain with the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center. This website is fraudulent and sold me a membership and then cancelled my membership without returning my money because I complained that the site was a non -working piece of crap.

Thank you for contacting us. We have reviewed our support tickets on this matter and you are correct that the website was experiencing issues with heavy loads over the past few days. Those issues have been resolved and will no longer occur. As far as your interaction with customer support it appears this may have been a misunderstanding as the representative thought that you had requested that your membership be cancelled. A full refund was issued on Feb 3rd and cleared on Feb 5th so you should have already received the credit.

We are happy to reopen your account for you at anytime. Please let us know if you would like us to do this.

Thank you

This website locked out my account shortly before membership auto-renewal date. I had no intentions of continuing membership -- only to find out website suddenly did not recognize my password. I emailed the site numerous times to request assistance resetting password (automatic procedure to reset password offered on site did not work either). Nobody replied to any of my messages. They reference a toll free number, 1.888.690.0034, and not sure why they even bother to do so as you get voicemail greeting stating they do not handle anything over the phone. Since then, this website keeps charging auto-renewal membership fee to my credit card forcing me to dispute charges every month. This website is an absolute scam.

Thank for contacting Fitness Singles through the Revdex.com. We are unable to find any previous correspondence from you in our ticketing system on Fitness-Singles.com but we are happy to assist you here. We have researched your account and we see that the account was closed by our staff in early July due to the fact that you had two profiles on the website. Since the service was not used we are happy to refund any charges that occurred after July 1st.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Regards, *** There are issues still not addressed by fitnesssingles.com: 1. Stop recurring charges to my credit card -- I am providing statements showing a charge in July and another in October. Because they locked out my account and refuse to allow me to reset password, I cannot stop membership auto-renewal 2. I need fitnesssingles.com to confirm credit for the two months in reference, no just one. 3. I need them to allow me access to my account under username *** (password reset) so I can disable all membership features and remove all my pictures

e-unity Response • Dec 11, 2018

The former Member, Mr., has a profile are under username: “***”. In connection with this profile, Mr. was charged subscription fees three times in total. The initial charge was on April 7, 2018, for $65.97 USD. This charge was in order to purchase a 3 month subscription. Subsequently, recurring subscription charges occurred on July 7, 2018 and October 7, 2018, also for $65.97 USD each. An attempt has been made to refund the July 7, 2018 charge, but this was not permitted due to a chargeback being filed in reference to that specific charge. The final charge on October 7, 2018, has been refunded in full. The refund occurred on November 28, 2018. No more charges will occur in reference to this account, as Mr.’s recurring charges have been deactivated at Fitness Single’s Credit Card Manager’s website (PayPal Manager). Therefore, in regard to issue number 1., raised by Mr., all recurring charges have been deactivated and no further charges will emanate to or from this account. Cancellation of recurring charges bears no relation to Mr. being able to access the account—as these recurring charges have been voluntarily canceled by Fitness Singles and will not occur again in the future. In regard to issue number 2., a refund attempt was made on December 10, 2018 but was unsuccessful due to a chargeback being filed in reference to the charge. Fitness Singles is happy to refund this charge of $65.97 USD and will do so at any time when the refund is technically permitted. In response to Mr.’s issue number 3., access by Mr. to our website, the sole property of Fitness Singles, in order to disable various features of his profile, is unnecessary and undesired by Fitness Singles. Mr.’s profile is no longer visible on the Fitness Singles webpage(s) and his profile, photos and all other material attached to the profile is no longer visible to Fitness Singles members or the public due to being removed from the website in full. Access to the profile serves no purpose at this time and Mr.’s membership has been canceled. Information Mr. has provided for creation of said profile will not now, nor ever, be used for any purpose, commercial or otherwise. Thank you.

I believe this site takes advantage of customers by forcing them to auto-renew their subscription and charging their account for the same level of subscription, and then refusing to provide any refunds in such situations. I signed up for a three month subscription. I believed I had cancelled. However, when looking at my credit card bill, I saw I had been charged again for the same 3 month subscription. The same day I saw I had received a message. I alerted the person writing me that she should cancel her renewal else she would be charged an auto-renewal. In an e-mail response from the company, they claimed they do not offer refunds and chided me for using the service at the time I had requested a refund. Again the communication was made to warn another member of their less than upstanding business practices.

e-unity Response • Nov 21, 2018

Originally, the member, Mr., had asked for a refund of his recurring charge. He had not canceled the subscription prior to it renewing on November 10, 2018, thus he was billed for a renewal. Additionally, the member’s account showed usage of subscription-only services a full week into the new term—for which he was asking to be refunded. Initially, his refund request was denied on this basis. This is in compliance with our Terms of Service where we make notification to members that all subscription purchases are non-refundable. However, when a member accidentally auto-renews for another term, we may often elect to refund the charge as a gesture of goodwill, as long as subscription-only services do not continue to be used. Here, it appeared that these services were being used—as the member read and sent mail a week into the new term.

Accordingly, the member was notified that we could not issue a refund because the subscription had renewed (wasn’t canceled) and because the subscription services were continuing to be used. The member then offered the explanation that he had only sent one single message a week into the new term. Our support staff was able to determine that the member’s claim was indeed true. As a gesture of goodwill, the support person reversed his decision and did offer the member a refund. The refund was issued and the member wrote that he was happy that the matter had been resolved satisfactorily.

The complaint made to the Revdex.com was apparently written after the initial denial of the refund and before that decision was reversed by our support staff. Therefore, it is not representative of the complete story and, in the end, the customer was satisfied and did receive a refund. Thank you.

I joined up for a year because it was cheaper to do so. I did because that's the way to read responses from other people. After I joined I haven't seen to get nothing but computer generated pictures plus people in Canada and some men, really? Same people. Before I joined it was free I was getting responses saying lets chat. But you needed to join. After I joined it all stopped.plus I try calling there number it's only a recording sending you to there email. I'm not the only one seeing this is a scam site to get people to join. I sent a email with my complaint to cancel it and refund my money.I should have read other peoples complaints first then I wouldn't have joined. Just refund the money I'm not pleased with their site, and I'm not the only one who sees it. They already cancelled my automatic renewal. Im done with it.Thanks you.

Thank you for contacting Fitness Singles through the Revdex.com. We apologize that we could not resolve your issue through our normal customer service channels. Rest assured Fitness Singles is dedicated to your satisfaction with our service. We have been online for 15 years and have millions of satisfied customers. With regards to your issue we do not computer generate profiles and operate the business with very high ethical standards. In your case what is likely to have happened is that when you first joined every member in your area had not been viewed or contacted. Eventually you will see all the members in your area and then have to wait until new members join for additional matches. This is why you will see many matches at first and then less matches the longer you are participating in the service. The subscription does not impact this at all. Since you are not happy with the service we are happy to refund your subscription fees. Please allow 24 to 48 hours for the credit to appear.

Thank you,

Fitness Singles Customer Support

My automatic subscription was paid through PayPal on July 11 for three more months. I cancelled the automatic subscription on July 11, so that I would not be charged again in the future.

The $65.97 was taken out of my account on July 11. HOWEVER, even though I am now paid through October 10, I have NO ACCESS to member benefits. I have emailed the company three times with NO RESPONSE! There is no phone number listed for customer support.

e-unity Response • Jul 21, 2018

Thank you contacting us. It looks like when the paid subscription was cancelled the option to terminate your paid subscription immediately was checked. This may have been done in error. No problem though as we have already activated a new three month paid subscription for you. Let us know if we can be of further assistance.

I joined Fitness Singles for a 3 month period on Wednesday June 7, 2018. One week later someone hacked into my account and took it over. They stole my profile and all my information. I emailed the company 6 times to tell them what happened to me and to shut everything down that had to do with me. I emailed them from the email account I had with them and another just in case the people that stole me had made it so my email would not go through. The company has not gotten back to me at all with my concerns and this breach of security. I have lost the money I placed but also lost my pictures and information and someone is using me to do something evil to other people. I do not even care about the money I just want the account and profile shut down!

e-unity Response • Jun 26, 2018

Thank you for inquiring with Fitness Singles. We searched our ticketing system and we were unable to find your messages. What email address were they sent from? As far as your account is concerned it was not hacked. It looks like someone guessed your password and was able to log in to your account so out of precaution we deactivated the account. We are happy to refund you the entire amount of your subscription fees.

Fitness Singles has been online for 15 years and we run our business with very high ethical standards. We appreciate your business.

Thank you for contacting Fitness Singles through the Revdex.com. We're sorry we were unable to resolve your issue through customer support. Looking at your account we see that the paid subscription was cancelled on June 10th but the profile was left active at that time. Our records indicate the account has not been used since June 13th. Per your request your profile and all information has been removed.

We are happy to provide a new three month paid subscription free of charge if you would like to create a new account. Please contact us through the Fitness Singles website if you choose to do this.

I subscribed to www.***.com (dating site) in December 2017 and prepaid for a 3 month period of time. During setup this company has you set your account up for auto renewal and I meant to cancel it when it was set to auto renew but didn't. So after I was billed in March for another 3 month period (extending my subscription till May) I cancelled my account from auto renewing again in May. However, I never was provided with the subscription services I paid for in March. Once I cancelled the auto renewal (March 10th) my subscription went to the free subscription access...but I paid for 3 months (billed March 9th but didn't hit my account till March 12th) and should have had full subscription access from March until May.

I have emailed the company numerous times and have yet to receive a response. All I requested was my money refunded or access for the three months I paid for.

e-unity Response • Jun 05, 2018

Hi Melissa! On March 10th when you went through the cancellation process you selected the option to terminate your paid subscription immediately. The other option that is offered during cancellation is to complete the remaining time that was already paid for. It seems you may have selected the wrong one in error. It's OK though as we just set you up with a new three month paid subscription. There is no charge for this subscription. Please let me know if I can be of further service.

I joined the site Fitness Singles ( which is under the E-Unity umbrella) and kept the free membership. As a free member you can't really do a lot but I was getting a ton of interest and messages. I decided to get a paid subscription and as soon as I did this all the profiles that were showing interest were gone and the messages stopped.

My search criteria was coming up very limited and I was actually getting males show up in my searches. I sent several messages to customer service through their portal without reply. This went on for a couple more weeks so I decided to dispute the charge with my credit card company. As soon as Fitness Singles received the dispute someone in the company cancelled my membership. So, they charged me and cancelled the membership and kept the money. They did not tell my credit card company this happened. They claimed that no cancellation happened, which is true on my behalf, although they did cancel it. They also claimed I used the service Jan 3, 2018. I did use the free service as this is all that I had. I logged on and looked. They claim that they do not offer refund although I have evidence of the owner offering a customer with the exact same issues as me a refund remedy.

My story has been replicated time and time again with fake profiles and terrible service. I contacted customer service through a proper email and they refused my refund but offered to give me an additional years subscription which I do not want. I have contacted the owner as well without response. The membership was $153 canadian.

I have plenty of evidence that this is a common occurrence and can provide if necessary. Many people have described the same story on a variety of public forums.

e-unity Response • Mar 28, 2018

Hi Gord,

I'm the CEO of Fitness Singles and I'm happy to assist you with your concerns. You have stated that you have contacted me regarding this issue but I do no to have any record of this. You have also stated that you contacted our customer support team without a response. Unfortunately we cannot find a ticket in our system for your compliant so I'm glad to have the opportunity to assist you now.

We care about our customers and we always strive to provide the best experience possible so I'm sorry to hear that we did not meet your expectations. This is not a common experience on the website though. We have over two million members and we've been online since 2003 with very few complaints about the service compared to the size of our membership. Of course we can't please everyone but we certainly do our best to provide 100% satisfaction. Your complaint seems to imply that our company creates fake profiles that are then used to bait our non-paying members into paid subscribers. This could not be further from the truth. In order for a dating site to be successful it must be run with very high ethical standards. Fitness Singles has NEVER created a fake profile nor will it EVER create a fake profile. If a fake profile is spotted in our community we immediately remove it. We also have teams working 24/7 to prevent any fake profiles from becoming members in the first place. Of course we can't prevent every fake profile from making it through the review process but no dating website can make that claim. Until the non paying member actually becomes a paid member we do not have any form of official identification linked to the profile of the member. The credit card that is used to subscribe provides some level of identity verification. This is why paid dating websites are more secure than free dating sites. Free dating websites never require any form of official identification.

Typically when someone first becomes a member they receive an influx of messages because they are promoted heavily to members in their area. Eventually the messages will come in less frequently as the existing pool of users in your area become exposed to your profile and decide to either contact you or decide you may not be a suitable match. You also indicated your subscription was cancelled which is not entirely correct. The auto renewal portion of the paid subscription was cancelled but this still allows the remaining time that was purchased to be used. You can see this stated in your cancellation email notification. I see the account still has an active paid subscription as of today (3/28/2018) that doesn't expire until 8/28/2018. Since the service has been used I can refund the difference between the price of the 12 month and a 1 Month paid subscription. Alternately, you can continue to use your paid subscription until it is completed in August with an free extension to the end of the year. Please let me know what you would like to do.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.] I have attached the email that I sent to Chris the CEO. I also have the actual email that I can forward to you. I have others to customer service where they stated my account was closed for some time and that they reactivated it in mid March 2018.

His response is acceptable if he can attach a dollar value to the refund. I believe it is around $110-120 and that is fair but I need to know for sure. Some of his facts are not correct but I will settle for a refund if it is in the $100-120 range. He needs to understand that I do not have the original card I used to purchase the subscription so am unsure how the refund would happen. . He can contact me directly if needed.

***

The refund is calculated as follows - $119.88 USD minus $39.99USD = $79.89 USD. This equates to approximately 100.66 Canadian Dollars. The payment will be mailed by check. Please let us know if this is what you would like to do. Thank you.

Hi ***,

Our records indicate that you cancelled your paid subscription on March 28th, 2018. At that time you choose the option to terminate the remaining portion of your paid subscription. Perhaps this was done in error? We can set you up with a new three month paid subscription or refund the unsused portion of the paid subscription which would amount to a refund of $25.98. Please let us know what you would like to do.

Thank you

I recently purchased a one (1) month subscription with the on line dating site Fitness Singles for one time fee of $40.00. After going on to the site and I discovered that many, many of the profiles on the site are fake or not completely legitimate. I literally went through hundred and hundreds of profiles finding that the profiles contained a single image with no personal story etc. Many, many of the profiles of the people also do not match the descriptions of what the person is into i.e. rock climbing, body building, weight lifting etc. I am all of the aforementioned and could easily tell that the people in the so called profiles do not engage in the activity listed on their profile. I believe that Fitness Singles uses this rouse to get people to sign up and pay to contact someone. I also believe it is possible that this site posts these profiles but the people in the profile are not paying users. I truly believe that this type of business practice is a huge scam and is much bigger of a problem than the paying user/public knows about. I have requested a refund of my subscription and cancellation of my account but nobody from the company has contacted me. Please leeo into this and advise as to a resolution. Best!
