Well first of all they cause damage to my rim from The tire the machine which cause scrapes into the paint off taking the paint off. And second of all they filled the tire up to 68 PSI which could put my life in jeopardy at highway speeds and cause a wobble or damage or accident which put my life in jeopardy which is a big problem in that I don't think that should be looked over putting people's lives at risk. My bike clearley shows on the side inflate front to 36psi.
We respond to all customer concerns whether valid or not. This customer did bring in his sport bike to show us the chips in his rim paint. The chips were not scraps but 3 dots in the paint consistent with stone chips. Our tire machine has plastic jaws and guides for this exact reason preventing any steel contact which prevents scrapping. We did offer to touch them up simply as a courtesy but the customer said it was fine. At no time has the customer discussed any refund for the $99 service.
As for the tire inflation, we fill all tires to the spec indicated on the tire by the manufacturer of the tire. As the tire was supplied by the customer and purchased elsewhere, we cannot comment on what inflation was on the tire. Due to this complaint we had all our air gauges(electronic and dial) checked by the tool manufacturer for accuracy and they all passed. The customer did not offer to have his air gauge tested.
The damage on the bike is clearly from the installation of the tire and they are consistent, with screw driver pry marks.they also left prior weighs to balancing which should have been removed upon adding new weights to balance. tire inflation is cleary on the tire and on the side of the motorcycle with a sticker that also shows inflation. which almost caused loss of control of motorcycle several time until it was corrected. once correct tire pressure was applied there were no further control issues. a new rime ranges from 480 to 500 USD. this shop is passing the buck on issues they are at fault for. if your guages were accurate why was it over inflated to 68-70 psi!!!!
As discussed, the customer came back approximately 2 weeks after the service and identified 3 chips in the paint on his front rim. These chips are consistent with stone chips; which is a normal risk of driving. As stated, we offered to touch them up, but the customer declined. We would still be willing to touch up the chips if the customer would like.
We do not use screw drivers in any capacity involving tire changes. Many of our *** customers have chrome or powder coated rims; which is why we have paid many thousands of dollars to buy specific tire machines for motorcycles with plastic jaws and plastic guides. This eliminates the risk of scratching paint or chrome.
Also, as previously mentioned, due to the nature of this incident, we had all our gauges checked for accuracy by the tool company. They all passed. These are not cheap gauges, and this is the first time we have had a complaint about tire pressure. We inflate to the recommended tire pressure of the tire manufacturer, particularly when a customer supplies the tire. We prefer not to install customer supplied tires as we do not know the source, nor do we argue the suitability for the application. When customers have determined the tires they want installed we have clearly state(and is posted) that we do not warranty parts or service when installing customer supplied parts
