Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The response filed by Easy Turf contains false statements. I did not call their employees "liars" (or any of their other allegations), and they are free to supply documentation to support this, as all of our correspondence was via emails so that I would have written record of what had transpired.  Easy Turf did, in fact, initially offer us a full refund, but as we stood on the lawn in question they talked us out of that and convinced us that it was "treatable" and that they would re-do the entire process "two or three times if we have to in order to keep you as a satisfied customer."  They also informed us that another female customer "had to treat her Nutsedge for EIGHT MONTHS". Therefore, after considering the cost of the treatment, and realizing that there may never be an end to the dollar amount or time frame of the treatment, we decided that if we were going to be out that much money anyway we might as well have a courtyard built where we would have a set dollar amount known in advance, and have the security of knowing that the Nutsedge would not be a problem in the future.
As evidenced in their response, Easy Turf is aware that the "Nutsedge is a problem in [my] neighborhood", therefore they sold me a product knowing it would fail. The salesman AND the installation crew guaranteed (they actually used the word "guarantee") me that nothing - NOTHING - would get through there. They are also making false statements in saying that the neighbors yards were not sprayed prior to laying the turf. They sprayed one yard once, and [redacted]'s yard was sprayed TWICE!  Mr. [redacted] was on the architectural committee for the HOA Board at the time, so they took great care of his yard - spraying it once, waiting three days, then spraying a second time prior to laying the turf. I have a written statement from Mr. [redacted] verifying this (which I'm trying to figure out how to attach to this response). Easy Turf's way around this is placing blame on the salesman, [redacted], as Mr. [redacted] moonlights and takes projects away from Easy Turf, all the while using Easy Turf employees to do the work he has stolen away from Easy Turf.  As evidenced in Mr. [redacted]'s correspondence, he indicates that the salesman, Michael [redacted], approached him and said, "I can save you $1,400 off the prep work if you pay me directly and not pay Easy Turf."  Mr. [redacted] paid the salesman and the work was performed by Easy Turf employees on his property. Based on this evidence, it is clear that I did not get the same treatment as my neighbors did, nor did I get the same quality of product, as they knew if would come through since my yard was not sprayed.
I have saved all correspondence between myself and Easy Turf and can prove on many occasions I was lied to, treated unfairly based on my sex and lack of knowledge, and was initially offered a full refund. At this point we will never work with Easy Turf, our HOA is now taking steps to protect the remaining homeowners from this company who has shady business practices, and will ONLY accept a full refund of our $8,127 in order to feel a satisfactory outcome.

I would...

like to speak with you about complaint [redacted].  I would submit that this should not qualify as a complaint against our business.  Just reading the text of their complaint shows what we were dealing with here.  We sold them a project in April and they requested a July install date.  When we sent them a tentative install date in July, they went ballistic.  Much time passed and we left them an innocuous phone message suggesting a possible installation date in October and, in their own words, they “reamed us out”.

We did absolutely nothing wrong and have nothing to apologize for.  They never put a deposit down on the contract and I question whether they ever had the intention of completing this transaction.  They stated that they have been “bullied and harassed by contractors in the past” but I don’t see where inquiring as to when we can get them on our schedule constitutes bullying and harassment.  They obviously have a bias against contractors and we felt it.

We are not perfect and I am happy to take my lumps when we mess up and have apologized when it was called for, but this simply doesn’t qualify.  I respectfully request that you dismiss this complaint and do not record it against our company.

Thanks for your help,

Great experience working with [redacted]. We love our new lawn! His associates worked very hard putting in the new lawn, and did a super job! HAPPY CUSTOMERS!

Upon emailing Easy Turf for a quote the company got back to me in just a matter of minutes. The team that I worked with were friendly and quick. I worked with Ron who was professional, personal and answered all of our questions. Installation was quick and the team was amazing. Our backyard looks beautiful. I would defiantly recommend Easy Turf to anyone thinking of getting turf in their yard.

THEY SIMPLY CONTINUE TO BE DISHONEST; YET, THEY CLAIM THAT I'M THE ONE WHO IS TWISTING THINGS.

THANK YOU.

[I am not sure exactly what the response means.  They say that they have gone over and above to resolve my complaints and will do no more.  Then they imply they would proceed with resolving the complaint if I promise to be nicer.  I'm confused.  This goes hand in hand with the mixed messages I have received from Mr. [redacted] (sp?).  He originally informed me that he would only try cleaning my turf and would do nothing else.  Then when he found out that I had filed a Revdex.com complaint, he called me, upset that I would do such a thing when he was still trying to help me.  I find it interesting that all of a sudden I am being portrayed as a disagreeable person when it was the company's salesman who swore at me (referring to himself as an AH) and hung up the phone when he was unable to resolve my original complaint for 2 months.  I admit that I am very frustrated with Easy Turf's poor customer service, and I'm sorry that I telegraphed my displeasure.  However, I believe that this issue is overstated and it only serves to cloud the issue of poor service and defective merchandise.  In fact when Mr. Brian [redacted] came out to look at my turf in December, we talked law enforcement and guns.  I am also confused about the fact that I paid for the turf at the time of installation and should have noted the problem right away.  First, I called the salesman the next day when I saw the turf in the sunlight.  The crew did not finish the job until late in the day.  Secondly, the point is academic, since the company already admitted the first installation was defective and replaced it.

Easy Turf's response does not accurately represent the facts.  The company did not replace the turf twice. It has only been replaced once.  However, the service people have had to repeatedly return in order to repair over 15 holes in my sprinkler pipes that were caused by the crew that replaced the turf in October.  I had a muddy mess that took weeks to fix.  Photos 0175 and 0141 show the original turf that was installed.  The lines were not faint.  Easy Turf's field representative, Mr. [redacted], told me that the first installation was defective and they would replace it. When the install crew came out to replace it, they unrolled the new turf in my driveway and found that it too was defective and had the same lines in it.  It was the crew's decision to call it defective, not mine.  The crew then called for another roll and installed it.

The third photo is a representation of what I now have in my yard.  Mr. [redacted] claims they are mow lines.  However, I have never seen mow lines like that in my life.  My neighbor's turf has faint lines in it that look like mow lines.  I would be perfectly happy with that.  When Mr. [redacted] inspected the Turf, he explained that that color variations may have been caused by the manufacturing process.  In reviewing Easy Turf's ads online, they claim: " The Most Realistic Look and Feel:  Easy Turf's monofilament fiber and color blends give it a natural look, unlike any other competitor's turf.  Our newest Supra and Lush series artificial grass looks exactly like the real thing.  Your friends, family and neighbors won't be able to tell the difference between your new Easy Turf lawn and an expensive, professionally manicured natural lawn.  It's so realistic, you'd have to see it to believe it!"

All I ask is for the company to provide me with the quality product they represent in their ads and backed up by the warranty card they provided me at the time of purchase.
Regards,
[redacted]

They did an excellent job. They were able to get it done in just 1 day. It looks beautiful.

I would like to reject the offer of Arbitration for complaint ID [redacted].  I am consulting with an attorney who will be contacting Easy Turf shortly.

Yes this young man [redacted] was very precise on his presentation and detail on the work they would perform. We were very happy with with the final product.

I had about three hundred square feet of turf installed. Honestly, I was a bit put off that the initial. Although the crew did their best, the installation ended up with 8 seams because the warehouse had been so stingy in turf that they gave the crew. However, after contacting my sales rep, [redacted], he had the crew come back out with new turf and we ended up with just a single seam. My one caution to any prospective customers would be to nail down (in writing) beforehand how many seams you should expect. Thanks to [redacted]'s follow up and persistence, I'm quite pleased with end result.

The Easy Turf representative seems to be focusing on the lines that are contained within the light colored band that runs through the middle of my turf.  I am not concerned about those small lines, and I certainly would not be bothering the company over the small lines.  What I am trying to point out is the drastic color variation between the 8-10 foot wide light green band in the middle of the turf next to a much darker section that is closer to the patio.  I have taken the liberty of sending another photo that better represents my point.  As depicted in the photo, I have what can best be described as a light colored runway down the center of the turf approximately 8 to 10 feet wide.  It is an entire section of contrasting color.  The light lines that you say are normal are contained within the large section of light color.  If you will note, on either side of the wide light color are contrasting dark turf, which results in a tremendous contrast of color.
When we were shopping for a turf company, the Easy Turf salesman provided us with a list of properties that had Easy Turf installed. In every yard, we did not see such a color variation that we currently have in our yard.  Additionally, there are several yards in our immediate neighborhood that have artificial turf installed.  There is not one home that has such a problem either.
I would like to clear up another point.  When [redacted] visited my home, he told me that the color variation that he saw was a result of a problem with the manufacturing process.  [redacted] even hinted at providing some sort of rebate rather than replacement for the defective turf.  He did not try to explain that the problem with our turf was normal.
I simply do not see how anyone from the company can call this "normal."  I suggest that out of fairness, Easy Turf take some steps to provide a remedy.
Regards,
[redacted]
