Ed Financial has often misapplied my payments to the wrong loan groups and I feel like I am on the phone with then every other month to get things straightened out I have separate student loans, and try to pay off the highest interest rate first They take the money I apply specifically to that loan, and then put it towards the second loan which is not accruing interest - even though I specifically paid towards a particular group I think they do this on purpose to keep you in debt, and you owe them more money in the long run I also have an issues with their electronic debit policy They lower your interest rate with kwick pay, which is great! But if you are back in school, they take that option away and force you back up to the higher interest rate This makes no sense to me

My daughter and I both are getting emails and phone calls saying that her student loan is in arrears, but she is a full time student We believe that this company is daily calling and emailing us both in an attempt to trick us into thinking the college loan with [redacted] is due, yet she is a full time studentThe terms of that loan is to begin payments months after graduationThey often do not leave voice messages, and when I call them back the machine first asks for a social security numberI wait for an operator to pick up, and I do not give them the SS#They say they cannot help me without it, nor can they stop the daily calls(several each day) and emailsI want my college student to focus on her studies and not be harassed daily over thisI also do not want her to be scammed into rolling over her loan to a company that may charge her a high or variable rate

I have been paying on my student loans with Ed Financial since [redacted] in excess of [redacted] per month and was with a different company priorMy balance was roughly [redacted] when I transferred to EdFinancial Services after graduating from collegeToday, my student loans are [redacted] On several occasions, I have asked that my payments be made to my principal balance and not to interest; however, they never obligedWith other companies, this is possibleMy wife has her student loans with Great [redacted] and has paid off [redacted] of her student loans

EdFinancial placed a forebearance on my student loan account that was neither requested nor ever authorized by me, then raised my interest rate In [redacted] I submitted an electronic request via EdFinancial's website to change my loan repayment plan from graduated to standard because I wanted to pay more toward my loans each month Despite three follemails, EdFinancial never processed my request When I called them, I was told that I could not participate in the standard repayment plan, only the extended standard repayment plan I asked the phone representative why a loan payment was not automatically withdrawn for the month of [redacted] She told me they had placed a forebearance on my account as a "courtesy" because my monthly payment was increasing I told her my intent was to pay more toward my loans, not less, and that I never asked for a forebearance She reitierated that it was done as a courtesy I told her to remove it immediately so that I could resume payme

In general, this complaint pertains to various actions by EdFinancial which have lengthen the lifetime of my loan resulting in increased interest payments In addition, they have decreased the level of transparency and access to information that would allow me to protect my financial interest EdFinancial purchased my student loans sometime around March I received a document, not a new promissory note, informing me of the change in lender and that the terms of the loan would be the same; I would not be seeing any differences in payment exc Despite that, my payments went slightly down Since they have owned my loan, I'm barley making a dent in the principleWhen I tried to figure out why, I was told that they don't have a copy of the legacy data pertaining to my payments prior to purchasing my loans, or a new promissory note for comparison

edfinancial is claiming I obtained a school loan. someone stole my identity to get it and now EdFinacial is trying to collect the money from me. They say it was a federal loan, yet I've heard nothing from the federal govt. The school, American Public University Systems (an online school), informed me the theif did'nt even take the class they enrolled in. Where did the money go? EdFinancial is threatening to garnish my wages, and tell me it's my responsibility to prove it's not my loan. They are uncooperative in assisting me. I would like to see the credentials this person used to obtain this loan.

I reached out to EdFinancial around the beginning of October. It turns out that the loan being reported on my credit was taken out by a relative. When I asked why it was being reported on my credit they claimed that it was a clerical error on their part due to the fact that our social security numbers "are probably only one number off". I do not believe that me and someone born 5 years after me have social security numbers that our one digit off. Although I am certain they lied about the social security numbers I wasn't worried because I was told that if I fax them a screenshot of my credit monitoring that they would remove the fraudulent report within 3-5 business days. I immediately did as they requested and heard nothing back. I checked my account a week later and decided to call Experian as well. I am still curious as to how and why they have my social security number since I have never taken out a student loan or supplied them with it. It makes me wonder if they illegally ac

Ed Financial transferred an account in [redacted] that was first deliquent no later than ***, since that is when I left my doctoral programNo new loans were obtained after this year., thus the delinquency period is now more than years, but Ed Financial continues to report my acount as delinquent, bombing my credit ratings with all bureausEd Fin has not been responsive to any complaint or request and I have disputed this issue with all credit bureaus multiple timesAll student loans were discharged in ***, but Ed Financial loans from before [redacted] were privately funded and have all passed any valid reporting date Product_Or_Service: student loans

In accurate reporting of a late payment on all of my credit reports I have contacted your office on numerous occasions about the inaccuracy of my credit report Your company is reporting a [redacted] day late payment in [redacted] but the credit report reflects account in good standing from [redacted] up until the late payment was posted in May [redacted] I know for a fact that I requested a forbearance in [redacted] but your reps seem to have lost that information Please research the account because this is causing undue hardship

Auto debited from my account even though I prepaid my balance, putting my bank account in the negative reversing a payment to a different loan companyI missed a payment on February [redacted] and planned to pay what I missed and my current payment due all at onceI did that on March [redacted] When I checked back to make sure my account wouldn't be auto debited it said my next auto debit would occur in April, so I saw no need to call the company(They seem to never be open when I call)I was shocked to find that they have taken payment for February, March, and AprilThat was not in my planI only use that checking account for loan paymentsI set up the remainder of that month's (March) funds to make a payment to my other loan companyBecause Edfinancial took the liberty to take April's payment early, they put my account in the negative (one [redacted] fee) and caused my other payment to bounce (another [redacted] fee!)

I was trying to lower my student loan amount after an health crisis and I was lied to repeated then my loan jumped up about *** dollarsThe emotional toll, future health and financial uncertainty I checked their website to see if there was a way to lower my student loansTo my surprise the website quoted me a lower monthly cost so I called to confirm if that was true and the operator confirmed it tooThis was around the late *** So I proceeded to complete my paperwork and sent it in and checked to see if they received it and when does my payment startThis was in QX XXXXTo my surprise they said I have to pay higher than I was originally paying before I started this process, about *** higher! I called today and the explanation I was giving was "our systems wasn't working so you were misquoted many times but since you are now in this new program you have to pay more and there is nothing we can do about it." This is what *** employee id *** told meAlso she would not give me

I had been working on my credit for years and until this issue it was in the upper 790'sThis is regarding three student loans from The loans were consolidated and a company called EdFinancial took that over from another company called *** *** that I had been paying and I've been paying off for years - more than the minimum every month so I could finish early(btw, this act also negatively affected my credit though I had nothing to do with it but it looked like I had six loans out on my credit reports and that was an issue for YEARS Then when EdFinancial updated and redid their website and gave me new account numbers it looked like I had NINE loans out on my credit report for years).*** After paying off this loan every month on time for years, more than what was owed every month, I made what I believed to have been my last payment for the remaining balance***
