Excellent service and staff . Appointments are made to fit your schedule with efficient and timely notice of expected arrival. Our technician Sergio was expedient and courteous .
Have recommended EDS to our neighbors

Great service!

Called 7a and phone promptly answered. Requested service call due to 11yo unit not cooling. William came out, promptly diagnosed and no charge per maintenance contract! Really appreciate the company's/ service technicians honesty as I was "ripe" for a new system!

As usual had a great experience. Sunday AC shutdown in major storm event-Steve was there late in afternoon and solved with a bypass and then Carolyn ordered new breaker and Steve installed a day later-never without AC except at first for a couple of hours-very happy with all personnel and work. BTW this is a second unit that I have had installed and maintained by EDS.

Jenny at their office was very nice, and set me up to see a repairman the same morning I called about my air conditioner. Dumas, the repairman, showed up within a couple hours and quickly found and fixed the problem - a blown 'capacitor', which was still covered by warranty. Dumas is a very pleasant and informative man, as were all the EDS ladies and gentlemen I've dealt with since purchasing my AC unit and service contractd from them. I am so glad I did. Air conditioning is not anything you want to wait and worry about in south Florida.

We have been with EDS for a long time and really appreciate their professionalism and great service. Thank you EDS.

Approximately two weeks ago, I left a review of EDS Air Conditioning. It mostly covered two of the company's service technicians who had come to my townhouse to service my a/c unit. The first was last year. I don't remember the circumstances, but I knew the technician from a property where I used to work. The second was about two weeks ago when a technician named Danny came to my house to find out why my a/c had stopped working. He diagnosed the problem as a TXV sensor that was faulty and recommended that the coils in the air handler be replaced because they were rusting. Later that day, after I wrote my review, I received a phone call from another EDS representative with an estimate for the repairs ($3,115). I asked for a breakdown of the cost of the part and the cost of the labor and he told me $1,900 for the part and $1,215 for the labor. He suggested that I might want to replace the old Rheem unit with a new 3-ton Rheem unit at a cost of $5,700, installed. I decided to shop around and received estimates for a new Ruud 3.5 ton unit, made by Rheem, for $4,700 installed. I was told by the second company that I needed the larger size because of the square footage of the townhouse. Others told me the 3 ton was adequate. I was somewhat handcuffed regarding what I could purchase because the air handler needs to be installed horizontally in a limited size space and there were very few a/c units on the market that fit. I decided to go with the repairs and continued to shop around. Two a/c technicians to whom I was referred by friends, both quoted me a total of $1,200 parts and labor. Turns out the coil and TXV sensor cost less than $500, as opposed to the $1,900 EDS wanted, and the labor was $700, versus the $1,215 EDS wanted. I chose one of the technicians and he did the job in about two and a half hours. The technician provided the part at his cost and made his money on the labor. I still saved more then $1,900. Everything is working fine and I have a warranty on the parts from the manufacturer. The coil and sensor came in a box and were purchased from Gemaire, presumably the same place EDS would have purchased them. I'm not saying EDS is a bad company. I'm not saying other a/c companies in Palm Beach County don't mark up the parts by four times their cost. I'm saying be smart. Shop around. I was lucky that the nighttime temperatures remained comfortable until we had the a/c repaired. I may have been a little uncomfortable for a few days, but I kept my hard-earned money in my bank account.

E.D.S Air Conditioning & Plumbing Response • May 02, 2019

All comments regarding one's experience with our company are taken very seriously. We strive to provide superior customer service from the first moment of interaction and through the entire process. Our entire staff of professionals are trained in-house as well as through our suppliers and manufacturers. Our technicians are clean, neat, uniformed and drug free. Most important of all is that we are fully licensed and insured with the State of Florida and permitted through all local counties, cities, towns, municipalities etc. We do not sell products at our cost, we must mark up materials to cover a variety of job associated costs such as picking up parts, paperwork, permitting etc. There are many factors that go into the cost of operating a business legitimately. It is fact that it takes more than 2 ½ hours to properly replace an evaporator coil with the proper and necessary steps it takes to complete the task. There are several factors that determine the size and placement of a central system; there are load calculations that must be completed and other courses of action to be completed before a system is installed. This company is not positioned in the market place as the lowest possible cost. Our team members are provided with a lucrative wage and benefits package that provides them with a good living, they are diligent hard-working people and they deserve a fair wage for their exemplary work. HVAC work performed without proper credentials is unlawful and is not always in the best interest of the homeowner. Palm Beach County provides clear and defined reasons why hiring an unlicensed contractor could result in problems.

Customer Response • May 02, 2019

The person who installed the coil works for a competitor, doing the same work he was doing in my home. I'm sure his credentials are impeccable. He walked me through everything he was going to do, explained everything to me. He was familiar with the product. He was not some fly-by-night a/c guy, some guy driving by in a van. Like the EDS employees, he installs, maintains and repairs HVAC equipment for a living. Presumably, he is paid well and has good benefits, comparable to those of the EDS employees. He was diligent and hard-working and, in my opinion, did exemplary work, just for considerably less money than EDS wanted to charge. As someone who owned his own business, actually, two of them, I am familiar with the costs of operating a business. I also am familiar with using people who work for large companies, but also do side jobs. They are just as qualified when they are doing the job on their time as they are when doing the job on the company's time. They simply are less expensive, because they do not have the overhead. The air handler was not replaced, simply the coil. It was installed in the exact same position as the old one, requiring no changes in weight load distribution. Let's compare apples to apples, not try to make people believe something was done that wasn't done. The central a/c system was not replaced, the air handler was not replaced. I have no problem with EDS marking up the part, but I think four times the cost is rather exorbitant. As I noted in my previous review, EDS also quoted me a price for a new Rheem 3 ton system that was $900 higher than a competitor's new 3.5 ton system produced by Rheem, but sold under the Rudd label. Had I chosen to install a new system, then there would have been issues with weight distribution and considerably more installation time. When I asked for a breakdown of costs to install the new coil and TWV sensor from the EDS representative who followed up on the service technician's report, there was no mention of a permit being pulled. It's very possible that, because it was the replacement of a coil and not installation of a new system, there was no need for a permit. But that is not my area of expertise. I believe I stated "about 2 1/2 hours." I did not clock the technician as to when he started or finished the job. It could have been as much as 3 1/2 hours. But the system is working fine. I don't question the employees of EDS. In fact, in my first review, I lauded them. As I stated in my last review, shop around. As the EDS representative stated in his rebuttal, they are not the market's lowest cost HVAC vendor. Being the lowest priced doesn't mean you are any worse than the highest priced. Being the highest priced doesn't mean you are any better than the lowest priced. There are many factors that go into pricing, including profit margins.

The service professional gave me his cell phone number to contact him if needed. He gave proper advice on the installation, gave advanced notice of his arrival, arrived on time, did a professional job of installing the equipment and emailed upon completion. I was not able to be there but my substitute reported they left the condo in a very clean condition. When they arrived they put on footies to assure they did not bring any dirt into the condo. Craig was great and I cannot recommend them any more and really they earned more than 5 stars.

Danny was excellent. I have had two experiences with EDS and both have been excellent. I have used EDS because they seemed to be the A/C maintenance and repair service of choice at a building where I used to work. Both service techs explained everything they were doing and what the problem was, based on their diagnosis. I don't always agree with the $89.00 diagnostic charge not being rolled into the overall charges, but that seems to be what everyone is doing these days, so you don't have a choice.I would use EDS again, if there is a problem, and would highly recommend them.

Tech was right on time even called and texted with time of arrival. The tech that came was Donald excellent customer service skills and knew his stuff. I will be using and recommending this company in the future.

Project Manager Donald C, Jr, was informative, courteous, and polite. I purchased a new unit.
Paula P.

Sean provided outstanding service. He is very knowledgeable and an excellent communicator he explained everything in plain language so we were able to understand all of the technical aspects of our system and related issues. Thank you, Sean!

Raymond is by far one of the most professional and knowledgeable AC folks I have encountered in a long time. Colleen is always so pleasant to deal with. Hearing Partners of South Florida

Our a/c went out overnight and EDS was called and arrived that morning and assessed the problem. Parts were ordered and scheduled for installation the next day. Derek did an exemplary job in assessing and completing the solution. We are very happy with the quality service provided by EDS

I called E.D.S to get a quote on installing a new air conditioning system. Jenny promptly arranged a meeting with Don, an E.D.S. Service Technician. Within the hour, Don came to my house, reviewed my existing system and educated me on Trane air conditioners. As he was inspecting my system he brought to my attention a frayed wire. It's those kind of things that customers notice and appreciate! After concluding our discussion, he promptly wrote up proposals for 3 different systems and price points. I am impressed by EDS and Don's caring and professionalism!

Thank you Omar, Eric, and Paul and especially Tony for an awesome experience and installation of our new AC and Hybrid hot water heater. Omar and Eric did the AC and had a challenge with the handler. Since the old one was 14 years old and newer system bigger they immediately saw an issue with the size and within minutes figured it out and came out with a plan. They made it look easy. These guys are professionals...!
Paul installed our new hybrid hot water system and being skeptical of a new product we were a little concerned but after Paul did his thing and we are very pleased with his professional performance and the hybrid. Paul knows his music too.
Tony, we can't thank you enough for all you did to get our project up and running, you our great in sales and know your business...

Just had our unit serviced by David. He fixed the issues we had, which wereminimal but annoying to us, and ensured that the rest of the unit and condenser were in good shape since he was already at the house. I have never been impressed with an AC company until this one.

Omar *** Ezequiel *** Eric *** Anthony *** We're my installers and did an outstanding job. Couldn't ask for anything else. The guys were so good I bought them breakfast, lunch, and stocked the garage fridge full of water. A must with all the duct work on a HOT August afternoon! Thus crew was outstanding!

We choose EDS Air Conditioning to install our new unit because of the great reviews about the company on the internet. EDS' staff has lived up to their good reputation. Carolyn, our first contact with the company, efficiently set up our appointment that same day with Donald, a salesperson. He patiently informed and explained to us the different choices, and was able to schedule an early installation. Donald also charged our old unit with Freon in order to hold us over for two days until EDS crew could put in the new unit.

The installation crew came before the appointed time and worked hard throughout the day to get our new unit up and running. The last person left at eight in the evening but soon after a there was a pump malfunction that turned the unit off. We called the 24 hr. emergency assistance and Donald (a jack of all trades) attempted to guide us over the phone to solve the situation which unfortunately was not possible. He told us that he could be here by midnight and when he put in a new pump (the old one apparently came defective from factory) the unit functions perfectly.

Despite this glitch , we highly recommend EDS. Their workers arrived even before the scheduled time and they were very careful when entering the interior of the condo. Donald has proved that his knowledge about air conditioning systems comes from his experience working with them. He went way beyond his duty as a salesperson by coming to our house at midnight to install a new pump. This company is perhaps our first experience in 26 years that we have come across an honest air conditioning firm in South Florida.

As advertised and promised by able staff, Donald C., Service Technician arrived within the quoted time frame. He proved to be very knowledgable and pleasant. He listened to my past experiences with my A/C system, tested and fixed and explained what he did in layman language.
