eHARDHAT has violated California Business and Professions Code 17500, in the creation of false and deceptive advertising. They created a listing using my name and contractors license information, giving the impression I am soliciting Handyman work. I am not, nor have I ever. I retired medically in 2008, and am disabled. My ex now thinks I am advertising for work and hiding income. I will consult with my attorney on what legal action to take against eHARDHAT for dissemination of such false and misleading information, in violation of B&P 17500 et seq.. I was a state licensed Plumbing Contractor C-36 until I let my license expire, never a B license, which is required for handyman work. It is demanded you cease and desist all use of my name and or likeness in any and all advertisements forthwith.

Hi, Mr. Lowry. I’m replying from eHARDHAT. We’re very sorry about the unfortunate events. The information we gather is public domain, including about your business. Sadly, not all public domain sources are going to be 100% accurate and it can happen that businesses close and that info doesn’t get updated by most places. Our service is designed to allow consumers better access to information that is already public. We encourage businesses to claim their profile for free and correct any erroneous information that may be on there, to ensure our site visitors will have the most accurate information about the business.

Respecting your request, your profile was found and deleted last month.

Again, we humbly apologize.

eHARDHAT team

This company had my contracting company listed with false information and without my permission. I checked the Revdex.com and reviewed their complaints along with this site. I called and complained they hung up. I submitted the complaint on their Contact Us page informing them to remove me. After that, I tweeted the below information and posted it to eHardhat's Facebook page:

Consumers do your homework! This company posts contractor profiles without the contractors permission. Check out the Revdex.com complaints along with https://www.revdex.com/reviews/ehardhat/477655.

Not sure which method worked but they took my company down. As an ethical contracting company, I'm not taking it anymore and neither do you have too!

E hardhat does not return calls and when they answer they leave you on hold for hours. I demand my profile removed immediately its misleading unfair and has the wrong information. They give people the impressing my company created a website with them with false information and pictures with false services we don't do!Desired Settlement: I demand my company information and this profile removed immediately .

Review: This company is representing our business COnstruction Wonders without ANY form of permission. They have photos of jobs that are not ours, they have a company statement that was not made by myself or any person associated with COnstruction Wonders. I am furious because we are a very high end contractor in Coronado and this advertisement makes us look like hacks! Not only did we NEVER authorize this or any service with this company they make us look like is!Desired Settlement: I would like this company to take down all information about my company Construction Wonders and to never contact us.

Review: This company has an internet listing for my company that lists my home address as the business for my the business All About Chimneys. Not only do they list my home address they have a map and directions to my home. The state that we give free estimates when we do not. They also claim that we do work that we do not.

I did not request, authorize, or approve this unwanted listing. By posting my home address as the business address they have violated my privacy and violated my company privacy policy resulting in a $1500 fine for each day my home address is listed as my business address. I have been informed by the FCC that they are responsible for any info the post on the internet regardless of where they obtained the incorrect information.

I tried to contact this company through their contact us page but could not get it to work.Desired Settlement: This company removes any and all information regarding [redacted] and All About Chimneys and Masonry from their database and the internet immediately.

This company pays all fines for violating my company privacy policy in full within 15 days or legal action will be taken against this company.

This company provides where they were able to obtain my home address

I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint.

It does not matter where this company obtained this false information. What does matter is that the did not verify the information before they posted it on the internet. By posting my home address as my business address they have violated my privacy and my company's privacy policy. Also in this unauthorized advertisement this company states that I give free estimates when I do not! This is false advertising, and has caused me a great deal of problems. This jerk and his company did not have my permission to use my company name. Advise this jerk I have filed complaints with the FTC and the government internet crimes unit. I will be pursuing legal action against this jerk and his company for violating my privacy, unauthorized use of my company name, and false advertising!

Response:

Hello,

We are responding to complaint #[redacted].

We responded to the original complaint by removing the All About Chimneys profile from our contractor directory.

To reiterate, Mr [redacted] never contacted us prior to filing a complaint with the Revdex.com. Also, he was never a customer.

Mr [redacted] is alleging that we did not verify his information before posting. Our usual procedure is to look up business license information on the state license board website and go by the information listed there. Mr [redacted]'s business does not appear to have any current licenses in the state of Ohio, as no information is listed on https://elicense4-secure.com.ohio.gov/Lookup/LicenseLookup.aspx Even though he claims to be licensed on his website:http:// www.allaboutchimneysohio.com/

Our alternative sources of verification are Yellow Pages and Manta.com, both of which have the same address listed as our directory had listed for his business. You can see both listings at: http://www.yellowpages.com/amelia-oh/mip/all-about-chimneys-[redacted] and http://www.manta.com/c/mmd0vcd/all-about-chimneys

Additionally, there are numerous other online profiles with the same address: for example, a Mapquest Local profile: http://www.mapquest.com/places/all-about-chimneys-amelia-oh-[redacted], Facebook Places profile at https://www.facebook.com/pages/All-About-Chimneys/[redacted] and many others.

We did not violate Mr [redacted]'s privacy, as he claims, as this information is part of the public domain, nor did we enter into any agreements with him or his company.

At this point we have removed this profile from our site altogether, and consider the matter closed.

Thank you,

Consumer

I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint.

This company ehardhat.com did not remove this webpage. As a matter of fact they added another unauthorized webpage for my company!

I did try to contact this company before filing my complaints, but was unable to do so. I am not a customer so why post any info concerning my company?

There is no state license required for chimney sweeps in Ohio. I am licensed in each city in which I work thank you very much! The link given is for a company in [redacted], Ohio not my company. I am well aware of the other listing that have the incorrect address. I have complaints and or lawsuits against several of these other companies. This complaint is in reference to the unauthorized listing on ehardhat.com not any other company.

This company did in fact violate my privacy, which is why I have choose to take legal action againsnt this company and their parent company Triares! Not only have they violated my privacy, but they have fraudulently created an authorized webpage advertisement and have used my company name without permission! I have spoken with Mr. [redacted] and ordered him to cease and desist using my company name which he has not. I specifically explained to Mr. [redacted] what actions would be taken if this unauthorized advertisement was not removed immediately! Please advise Mr. [redacted] that he has picked the wrong person to mess with!

I'm replying from eHardhat. I've read the thread and those responses to you weren't from us. So, I really understand your frustration. When this site was brought to our attention we found your profile in the review you posted and deleted it. The information we gather is public domain, including about your business. Humbly,

the eHardhat team

This company has you sign up. Then went and seen their sites traffic 60people a day! I didnt get id or password.Backed of site thank god didnt enter my credit card info.Either way I got a auto email im guessing saying my credit card will be charged everyday at midnight for all leads sent to me that day.......only gives you an option for 10 leads at 17 each per day also. BEWARE there selling leads their site dont even have.

Review: eHARDHAT has independently created an improper profile for my services as a contractor and provided false and misleading information to unsuspecting would-be consumers. I did not create this listing on the eHARDHAT website and do not wish to utilize eHARDHAT or Triares, Inc.'s services in any manner or establish or maintain a relationship with eHARDHAT or Triares, Inc. in any form.

It appears eHARDHAT will claim in their response that they have done this utilizing publicly available information, but this is not, and could not be, entirely accurate. Certain information such as statements that imply business conduct and ethics, specific construction specialties, whether financing is offered or credit cards accepted, and hours of operation provided in the listing could not have been derived from public sources as it not collected as a matter of public record. Rather, this information is a complete fabrication by eHARDHAT.Desired Settlement: I would like my profile removed from the eHARDHAT site and that any and all records, electronic and otherwise be purged from eHARDHAT's database(s) and/or business files.

Additionally I desire that any and all records, electronic and otherwise be purged from databases and/or files of Triares, Inc. and for any and all brands within their structure, including but not limited to: Wisercosts, PeopleSifter, TownContractors, Homeyou, and Yukister.

I desire specific acknowledgement that these actions have been performed and that I, as an individual or company, have no relationship with them.

Response:

I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint.

Ehardhat was NEVER given permission to use my name I am an L.L.C. in Ohio. The day I contacted them, they removed my listing but kept the meta information the same. If anyone Googles "alldonepainting" ehardhat shows up (as of today) saying "All Done Painting L.L.C. Berea, Ohio" a city within 4 miles of Westlake, Ohio (before that it said "All Done Painting L.LC. Westlake, Ohio) . Ehardhat sends people away from finding me, and then to a competitor. What their doing is actually Illegal. I'm giving them a chance to change it before going to court, my attorney informed me of daily punitive damages, cost of customer acquisition,..etc. I've decided to wait to see if the B.B.B. can help at the same time giving Ehardhat a chance to do the right thing. Please take the time to Google changing the Google location to Westlake, Ohio and you'll see what their up to.

Response:

Hello,

We are responding to complaint #[redacted].

We responded to the original complaint by removing the All Done Painting LLC profile from our contractor directory. Mr [redacted] is complaining about the link showing up in Google after performing a search for his brand name. Unfortunately we do not have control over what Google chooses to index. If you click the link to his profile in Google, it leads to a page that says "Page not found." After some time (usually a few days, but may take up to a few weeks), Google will naturally remove the link, since it leads to an obsolete page.

We did everything in our power to remove the All Done Painting profile from our directory and therefore consider the matter closed.

Thanks,[redacted]

Review: This company has a website called eHardhat. They advertise contractors. They have Listed our company and it looks that we actually their clients although [redacted] never got our permission to list us on their website. Confusion is deliberate because they use pronouns "we" and "us" in a description of the services, so it sounds that our company is telling what kind of services we provide. The information is incorrect, wrong CSLB License number, they list services that we do not provide, they've posted fake pictures of supposedly our projects. We had a real problem with our liability insurance provider and a governmental organization because of that. In order to edit or remove the listing (I do not know if it is even an option), I have to provide my name and contact information to "claim" the profile. I called [redacted], and the call went to voice mail box.Desired Settlement: I request that all listing with our company name Dream Team Construction & Maintenance (in all its variations) to be removed from eHardhat website, and that [redacted] provided us with a letter explaining that we are not their clients and never requested to be advertised on eHardhat site.

Just wanted to leave a review for Ehardhat, because I used them several times to find contractors, with great success. First time was for a small job - we needed to have the refrigerator door repaired. A handyman came out and fixed it super quick. The second time was last week when we needed to hire a painter to paint our house exterior. After my first successful experience with Ehardhat I decided to use them again, when I called them I spoke with [redacted], who was very helpful. She figured out I needed to get several bids, because we wanted the best deal. I had three painters call me within the next 2 hours, and after a few quick appointments I hired the company who ended up painting our whole house. Now it looks beautiful! We're very satisfied.
