I want to comment on how happy we are with the installation of our stair lift. Marcus and Mike were truly professionals. I would recommend this company to anyone who needs a safe way to get up a set of stairs.

Thank you so much for the 5review and positive feedback. We appreciate the recommendation and will also pass along your compliments to our two installers.

I have had a horrible experience with this company. Everything from the consultation seemed promising. I met with owner, and he was very knowledgeable. I needed 3 things done: 1) house access (ramp, door widening, and automatic door) 2) barrier free shower 3) basement access via an exterior lift. After we discussed the options and I decided what I wanted. Signed a contract in the 1st week of Oct, 2018.
Within 1 week my ramp and door were installed to my satisfaction. After that, things took a turn for the worst. They would not give me a date to start my shower. I was told to deal with Susana if I had questions. I called and emailed every week asking about a start date for my shower. She would tell me there's people in front of me on the list, OR she would bring it up at their Thursday meetings. I had no way to shower at my own house, because I require a shower chair. It took them until the end of December to do my shower. I met the construction manager on the shower installation, and he informed me he wasn't aware of the urgency in which I needed the shower installed. I was able to get his cell phone # and he was actually helpful on the parts of the contract that he was in charge of. So, shower finally gets installed... A pipe wasn't welded correctly, and it leaks into the basement. Luckily, I had the construction managers # and it got taken care of. They corrected all damage, but it was still aggravating...
Saving the worst part of my experience for last, The exterior lift. Just like the bathroom shower, I had to email, text, and call for an idea of a start date. Someone showed up to drop of materials in the snow. He drove into my back yard in snow and got stuck. Caused $800 damage to my backyard (ehls did credit me the damage. honest mistake: but still another annoyance). It finally got installed feb of 2019. There it sat until May of 2019 because no one at the company scheduled an inspection... Inspector comes, fails lift BECAUSE IT WAS DEAD. I should have asked for full refund then... So, they get it running. 2 weeks later a different inspector passed it. After that nothing but problems. They lift shorts out all the time from moisture issues.. You get a 1 yr warranty on a lift. From May to May there hasn't been 1 month that has gone by that it hasn't needed service due to it being out of order. I've asked the owner to contact me, crickets. I've asked for a refund, crickets. The service dept did extend my warranty by a year, but moisture still not fixed. Going on 20 service visits in just over a year... The lift I purchased was over 20k. Its supposed to bring me independence. Instead its brought nothing but headaches and a lighter bank account. They tried telling me these things are common, but I have friends with outdoor lifts: their lifts have no issues.
If anyone chooses to do business with this company, get start dates and work schedule in writing. I suggest avoiding all together.

We are very sorry for the problems that you have experienced. We agree that it hasn’t gone well and doesn’t reflect the normal quality of our projects. Our goal is to find a permanent solution for your lift – to make it reliable.

Our elevator technician was there this week and replaced a part. We are meeting with him and the manufacturer to determine what the long-term solution may be. We will be in contact with you today to put together a plan that is agreeable to you.

Several years ago, we worked with EHLS to have a ceiling lift installed in my son's bedroom and to modify the bath to accommodate the lift. The subcontractor they utilized did a great job and we were very pleased with the work.

On the not so good side:
- the original sling they purchased on our behalf was inappropriate for my son's physical condition. I wish we had the ability at the time to consult with an OT or someone truly knowledgeable about slings to find the right model
- As our son grew, more recently, I went back to EHLS to purchase a new sling. They were of zero help, and I ended up consulting with my son's therapist and talking to another distributor who was ACTUALLY really helpful and assisted me to make the right choice. I paid for the new sling out of pocket and it shipped quickly. By contrast, the contact at EHLS emailed me a couple of sling manufacturer catalogs and was not able to locate anyone that could assist further.
- We are now working on our 3rd tech visit to have the battery replaced in the ceiling lift. Total incompetence between scheduling, insurance processing, order processing, techs arriving very late, and arriving to make the repair but not actually having the battery with them. As a customer, is quite evident that there are communications and competency issues when it comes to repair services.

I am so frustrated with this company, and I will assuredly inquire about another distributor who can meet our needs in the future. For now, I just simply want to get the battery replaced for a ceiling lift. Hopefully, it has not been sitting in the back of a repair truck for several weeks in freezing conditions.

Thanks for your feedback and I am happy that we had time to talk and confirm the issues were resolved. Please feel free to reach out to me with any additional questions you may have.

I’m a 63 year old man who is afflicted with multiple sclerosis and end stage renal disease, and have been for the better part of 18 years. My mobility was deteriorating to the point that my caregivers were having an immensely difficult time getting me in and out of my 32 in. X 32 in. single stall shower.
We reached out to the Caregiver Homes of Northwest Indiana for state assistance. We requested bids to have our tiny bathroom modified and the only company that followed through on the entire process was EHLS (Extended Home Living Services) of Illinois.
After a few weeks they were awarded the contract and they sent out a team of two, tenured craftsman, to undertake the task of enlarging my tiny shower by taking up space from an adjacent closet.
The two man team did an amazing job of stealing closet space to make my shower an immense 5 ft. X 3 ft. shower that is so appropriately sized that I can now enter the shower space with my Hoveround which then allows my daughter and wife to, more easily, help me transfer to a shower chair. There is now enough room for them to assist me in my bathing.
During the course of the project I had the pleasure of communicating with a nice lady named Susana regarding my needs and concerns and she put me in contact with a Mr., the project manager, who was very easy to communicate with and we got things done the right way, because of his steerage.
By the way the two craftsmen, Hose and Nino, did an amazing job with the fit and finish of my shower. They are exquisite craftsmen and because of their quality of work I would hire EHLS again should I need other projects to be done.
Thank you EHLS for helping to make my life more easily manageable. God keep you all well.
And Thank You to the state of Indiana for taking care of their disabled and making this possible!

We purchased a scalamobile for my husband to take him up and down curved stairs. EHLS responded to our request immediately, assessed our needs and spent a great deal of time training me, our son and a caregiver to use the product properly. If we had any questions they were answered immediately. The product has allowed us to care for my husband in our home, giving us mobility throughout the house, including the basement where he has a hobby room. We highly recommend EHLS.

Extended Home Living Services installed the Bruno chair lift in our home 2 weeks ago. The company has been exemplary in their service. The salesman who came to the home, the sales showroom that was very helpful in demonstrating the product, and the installers were very professional and thorough. Our lift was installed on time as promised, My disabled husband appreciates the safety and ease of using the stairway once again. We would highly recommend the services of EHLS.

EHLS was recommended to by a nurse due to a progressive terminal illness. We interviewed three companies. Prices varied. EHLS was lowest, but was chosen because of their submission of multiple designs/discussions about our goals We combined a small bathroom with a laundry room. The end product is "stunning." We were extremely impressed with the expertise in consultation, decision-making of all personnel/office people. First name basis. The two men who completed our bathroom were skilled in all aspects of a remodeling/building project. Prompt, knowledgeable, efficient, meticulous and friendly, they became family members. Told EHLS that we would have them back for another bath remodel when we are ready.

Amazing service, amazing knowledge, fair prices. My sales Rep, Mike, is friendly and knowledgable. He provided me with a lot of ideas that would save us money as we outfitting our house for my mom's post-surgical rehab.

Would recommend them to anybody.
