Rude Manager
Not a good experience visiting CDJR after end of the working day and getting insulted by the Manager. Wouldn't recommend that you visit this dealer, no communication skills at all and lack simple skills to run the dealership; took my info but refused to provide a quotation for a vehicle I was interested in, this all occurred with the manager, while speaking to me he was extremely abrupt, rude, and had no interest in discussing the vehicle to me. He had a very high argumentative tone and upon me furthering inquiring for a quotation, he just got up and left the desk saying that "we aren't here for shop arounds", which should never be said in that setting. Will not be returning to this dealership and recommend you don't either for your own sanity. Poor service, lack basic communication skills, extreme rudeness and lack what it takes to run a dealership.

Bought a NEW 2019 Dodge Journey. The buying experience was hell. Took 6 hours of getting them to honor the advertized price. They lie and will not be transparent about the rebates. THEN I did not see the broken grill because of the snow on the grill. Called them as soon as I got home. Never got a return phone call for 2 week after calling every day. They will not fix the grill. Their stand is no vehicle leaves the lot with damage. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. They do not return phone call or stand behind the sale. They have NO business ethics.

Finance manager tacked on multiple warranties I repeatedly asked the salesman not to add. Took advantage of me being an unexperienced car buyer & now that I'm asking for the cancellation/refunds, they keep giving me the runaround saying I cant refund something that has been "installed". But I never went in for any extra service or any type of installation of anything. I think they are hoping to pocket the commission & for me to go away.

I was coerced into buying a vehicle I did not want than after visiting the business several times over the course of two years to cancel this or that they just kept giving me the run around. I purchased a vehicle couple of weeks ago.
First thing which I disliked was that they asked my offer which I told. And then the salesman started taking and entering I the system my all information like SSN, Salary etc. and once it is done they started negotiation. I asked if you had to negotiate why you took my information first? But looks like the person was doing as per policy. Which I think is not good and against the law.
The price was negotiated as $10K. During negotiation I was told that they charge $299 for Vin etch which I declined and said that I don’t need it and the sale manager agreed on that. After that while we were doing financing the finance person kept me pushing to buy warranty and showing me different option which I was refusing in this process he printed the document couple of time and tore them after I refused. This all took about 40 minutes. Finally we were done and I was given a copy of document and I left. Later at home I reviewed the document at home and found that the sale prices is written as $10299.
I contacted them and complained at first they said we will fix it but after several time following up finally I was able to meet the sales manager. Now he was telling me that $299 is vin etch which they charge for the service. I told that I declined it but they refused to fix my problem.
I think their business ethics are not good.

As you can see attached documents, the ST-***-X was filed to correct sales tax under payment ($30 short), and a check was sent to customer for $160.82 for fee over-payment (amount is rough estimate, as we are not Indiana dealer, and local fees are not always known, hence estimate and refund).

As for the sales tax amount, the trade in this case was a leased vehicle. Leased vehicles do not qualify for the used vehicle trade-in sales tax credit in the state of IL. That is why the tax is calculated on the full vehicle purchase price, and not the difference between purchase price and trade value. The sales tax form reflects this, but the buyer's order has no way to show this particular "quirk" in the system. The taxable amount line on the buyer's order is not reflective of this particular situation, and can create some confusion if the person doesn't know that rule.

Finance manager screwed up our lease so bad that he had to drive to Rockford to have us resign a new lease. He processed the original and didn’t send in the new one. I had been making payments on the account number I received and not the one he sent in. In the end, we ended up with 5 inquiries on our credit score, a new alias as he misspelled my last name, dealing with proving my payments with bank statements, a harassing phone call from the dealership wanting payment over the phone, a repossession notice/*** saying we were current, and a GM that wouldn’t return our calls. Luckily, *** finance has been the only one that has been helpful and straightened things out for us.

I haven't even had it a year, and the problems started the same month I bought the car. They lie about the car facts and refuse to distribute information about services done to the car, per the car fax, prior to the sale. They never take responsibility, and they won't let you contact cooperate or the owner. Save yourself the trouble, and find a different car lot. I have lived in pure stress the moment I bought my car in August 2018

They took my car as the trade in but then said they needed 2500 until it was all processed, even though they owed me 4100.- but they wouldn't take a check and I had to bring in cash the next day. It's the middle of June and I can't get them to call me back and I still don't have my check that they've promised me for 3 weeks. I know the car was paid off because my bank statement shows it - I still don't have any paperwork telling me where my new payment goes but they informed me they'll take it out of what they owe me. The whole deal feels unorthodox and is leaving a bad taste in my mouth - especially when the finance manager says he'll call you right back and doesn't. Left 2 more messages for him and still no return call. Left a message for the GM. Perhaps it's time to report the dealer to the state.

Then they wanted my entire bank statement which I refuse to provide as my personal banking details are none of their business. They have sent me harassing emails, phone calls, and text messages. Threatening as well collections and reporting my vehicle as stolen. They just informed me they revoked my license plate registration making it illegal for me to drive. This is the first step. My next step is to contact my lawyer and sue.

As for the down payment. We are trying to figure out what happened, as our bank shows no completed transaction for $1000 dollars on that day (or the next day). We have reached out to the customer to get some limited info to try and help track down any possible way it may have been charged, but not directed to our account. All we need is the last 4 number of the card in question. Hopefully, we will hear back from Mr. soon.

Purchased a warranty from the dealer and they said if we didn't want it we had 90 days to remove it. We have been trying for over two months to get ahold of the dealership and even drive 2 hours to the dealership to handle the problem and they wouldn't fix the warranty issue. They turned us away and every time since we have called all of the managers are always busy and the finance manager is never there supposedly

Sorry for any delay. Extended Warranty and GAP coverage have been cancelled. Check are being sent to the lender to reduce the principal balance on the loan, per usual practice.
