In February 2015, when I was looking to enroll for Market Place health care insurance for myself, I received a phone call from a Unified Caring Association (UCA) agent offering me a health care policyThe representative (***) came across as if he was selling me comprehensive health insurance coverage and asked me some questions about myself and my health to get me "approved"Upon approval, they sign me up right away, leaving me to think I have health insurance coverageI do business with this company until November 2015, paying my monthly fee of $176.95, without ever receiving the policy terms and coverage benefits, which I find oddUpon research after my accountant requires me to give him a from my health insurance company yesterday Feb 18th, 2016, I call UCA and they tell me my policy was only a health savings program, not a medial coverage policy, which they misrepresented from the beginning as a health insurance coverageA quick [redacted] search uncovers a few fraud reports

Contacted company in reference to health insurance, due to our rates increasing through my husbands employer Spoke with male on the other end named [redacted] *** Mr [redacted] advised that both of our Doctors were listed under their network and the company could offer us a policy for $a month plus an initial fee of $ We were advised that this is a time fee and could get a full refund within days Upon speaking with my Doctor and Walgreens Pharmacy I learned that neither have even heard of this company before and did not accept the policy I made a call to cancel the policy on 2/8/and spoke with several different customer care reps who gave me the run around about canceling The lady told me that I was told three times that the $was non-refundable to which I was never advised I am seeking a full refund from the company I will pursue this matter further with my bank and local law enforcement as a matter of Fraud I will also be reporting this company

I was sold Health insurance (Unified caring association, Freedom series Multi Plan) by an insurance broker that provided information regarding insurance benefits and the insurance coverage I had this coverage for months and I paid a total of $over the time periodThe reason I decided to cancel this insurance was because I had to get an X-ray done and none of the hospitals accepted this insuranceAt that point I believed UCA had a bad in-network of healthcare professionalsI decided to cancel the insurance It was only when I had to file taxes, that I realized I had been connedThe agent sold me this plan as a cheaper replacement of the BCBS PPO Plan I was insured at that point of time and stated it does meet the legal minimum essential coverage That turned out to be a blatant lieThey do not meet the minimum essential coverage of the ACA and I had to pay a heavy tax penalty because of the misinformation

My wife [redacted] did was searching for ways to reduce our [redacted] insurance costs She engaged with a broker that sold us on [redacted] and Unified Caring as some soft of "stacked benefits" insurance with certain exclusions They were very clear that they had to tell us it wasn't major medical insurance officially, but that it really was just like major medical except that it didn't cover certain things We heard of others like this which are legitimate cost sharing programs so, the pitch made sense He told us that [redacted] was the largest provider in the US Other names were offered as choices like [redacted] and [redacted] , but that he recommended this one for us as having the most benefit He told us that emergency room visits would be $and gave us other copay amounts which sounded reasonable Eye and vision and all of these things were also bundled I was charged $in a series of charges in different piecesThere were a total of transactions My wife ended up

This "insurance" company is a total scamThey gave me an insurance policy that was definitely too good to be true then when I asked to see the information in writing they absolutely refused to send me anything until they charged my credit cardI ended up hanging up because they were so adamant about making me pay before I could see any information in writingI wouldn't even give them one star if I didn't have to

What a great organizationThey give many wonderful scholarships, and support many wonderful charitiesGreat to see a company giving back

November I called what I thought was a hotline for Obama Care InsI signed up for what I thought was legitimate health insI went to the ER December 27th and found out I have an Umbilical HerniaI called today to make a follow up appt with a Hernia Dr and was informed that my "insurance" would not cover in or out patient services and I might be lucky if it pays Any of my ER visit!I was under the impression that I signed up for HEALTH INSURANCE!!! NOT A DISCOUNT PLAN! Health Ins means it pays 40/60, 30/70, 20/80,10/90..Not a discount planIm appalled that these companies are allowed to represent themselves as an insurance companyI spent today doing what I should have done on the day I enrolled into my factious insurance companyI spent the afternoon rushing to get legit insurance so I can get the proper care I needI NEVER heard We are a discount company we DO NOT OFFER REAL HEALTH INS!

The insurance brokers that sold me the coverage provided information regarding insurance benefits, and information regarding examples of how the coverage worksThe agent repeatedly represented that the plan (Personal Care Choice) meets the Minimum Essential Coverage of the ACA, but in fact it does not, and it result in me paying significant tax penalty Insurance brokers reported that my doctors participate in the plan but after paying the first month's premium and after registering for the plan it was revealed to me that my doctors do not participate in the plan I asked for a brochure or documents describing the plan prior to my registration but I was refused this information

Being a UCA member is so nice! Their caring news and resources are awesome! I love their positive, happy social media posts and I am really enjoying doing the UCA daily caring challengeIt's a great way to spread kindness in the world and be optimistic about lifeThanks UCA!

My wife found this company while searching for private health insurance onlineOn the phone I was sold *insurance*I asked repeatedly if that was what I was buying because I was skeptical - for what they were saying I was getting the price was greatI was repeatedly told that I was buying good coverage for a great priceAfter the sales pitch and I decided to sign up, the agent took my payment information then told me that he was going to transfer me to someone who had to read a script to me on a recorded lineHe said that the script didn't apply to what I had signed up for, but the government mandated they read it and record it anywayHe told me to not worry about it, my plan was my plan regardless of the things said in the scriptOnce I was on the phone with that person, they read the script faster than anyone could understand, and they said I needed to save questions until the end because if we didn't finish in minute we would have to start overI agreed, and moved forward

I recently purchased Health shield,Unified Caring Association insurance plan after calling around for insurance quotes and specifically was told my doctor would take this insurance by the agent who worked for Health Shield.I went over my conditions with the agent and told him about my diagnosis and told him I seen a doctor and was in a drug treatment program. He than told me and reassured me that my doctor would accept this insurance plan.Long story short I go to my doctors appointment they try to run my insirance through health shield and they than tell me they have never heard of the insurance company and then I called the insurance company who then talked to my doctors secretary and she says we will see if they pay it after she talks to member services. So than I wait a week to see if my claim in submitted and they tell me the claim was denied because they do not cover mental health issues or drug rehabilitation. When I talked to the agent I told him I seen a phchiatrist and he said my

I bought this discount plan with the understanding that I would be allowed to keep my doctor and her association she works forI was refereed to see a specialist and upon arriving they scan my UCA/CHUBB card and tell me they do not accept this insurance discount planThis specialist would end up charging me between $- $I also had an appointment to see my cardiologist which had to be cancelled due to the fact this discount plan would pay nothing to any of these doctors nor will it be paying any of my ER visit that I made using this so called discount planAfter calling and speaking with a representative from UCA, I was told that no, my doctors are not in their networkI am very disappointed after paying my fee's two months only to find out nothing is covered with my doctorsThe RX discount isn't any good either, as my pharmacy told me it was already cheaper for me by using cash than to use the RX discountRIPOF!

I love that the association focuses on sharing positive news, actions, products and information that help members feel cared about and empoweredEspecially in a time where everything seems so negativeI believe that UCA indeed follows their slogan - that my life is something they care aboutWow - in today's day and age, that is a departure from the norm
